Peak View Solar - Out of Business

My main complaint about Peak View was the communication. There were several delays during installation, with initial estimated turn-on in July (first hired Peak View in March), actual turn-on was mid November. But they never - never returned a phone call or text once the contract was signed. I could get the information I needed, but only by calling them, sometimes multiple times. They were very nice - "Ok, I'll look into that and get right back to you." Nope.

I do not recommend this company. Their communication is very slow - often often you will have to wait a long time for a response, not get a call back promptly etc.. They also will not honor their warranty now that our batteries have tested to be bad. Peak View was responsible for programing the invertor to not let the batteries get too low - so if they were damaged due to over use - that would be peak views responsibility. They also refused to test them when we asked them to, they just insisted they were fine, and we were just using too much power. They showed deceiving charts showing our power usage and did not take into account that the power usage was ALSO charging the batteries - and if the batteries were bad - not holding a charge - we would use far more power with the sun and our generator constantly trying to keep them charged. Very bad sneaky company to deal with - stay away. All they had to do was honor their warranty - and I'm fairly certain they could have just gone to their supplier to have the batteries replaced, but instead they refused. Future customers beware - find someplace else for your solar needs.

We've had our panels for almost 2 years and it was the best decision we've made. Peak View installed it quickly, even though they had to get parts they needed. When we were concerned about the system, Nancy Brodhagen made it clear of what we needed to know about how the weather affects how the system works. Another time we had a discussion on energy-eaters and we stopped using our space heater. That made a huge difference! I've recommended Peak View to several people. One, my sister, found that her electricity use was too small to justify getting panels! They won't up-sell you!

Local and answered questions and was financed right away

Peak View Solar has been great with all the details of installing solar. I appreciated the workers as they were always working efficiently. The Panasonic panels are very nice looking on my roof, plus doing their job! It's nice to be able to see daily production on computer, plus knowing that it's natural energy! My bill with Black Hills has dropped from the $60.00+ to $9.75 monthly. Only have to pay for taxes. It was so nice to get estimates from Energy Sage to compare. Some were local and others were out of state. I talked with several local dealers, but felt that Peak View Solar was best choice because of details and price! Thank you for all that you did! This is the second system I have had over the years with the first in Arizona and now Colorado. I am a firm believer of solar energy!

I met the owners at a home show and had a follow up meeting at my house. They guided me and my wife threw the process with there excellent staff. The installers were top notch and very professional and helpful. They left the property as clean as they found it. We were guided threw the process of understanding how the system works with ease. We are so impressed with the service we received that we recommended them to a friend.

I found this company through the EnergySage website. Nancy at Peak View walked me through every step of the process and answered all my questions. They completed all the installation work when they said they would, with good quality. All is working now. The whole process took about 2 and a half months. No complaints, they gave me a very fair price and did my electrical work as well. I've got nothing but good things to say about Peak View.

These guys are great. They took care of everything. Even carried things in the house and cleaned up every bit of wire and connectors. They had it installed in less than a day. They're local family owned company. I loved them so much I went to work for them selling solar systems. Nancy and Phil are the owners and were there to answer all my questions. The customer service is the best. The warranty is the best in the business and they handle everything, from permits to rebates. I can't give them 10 stars, but I would like to.

Miguel was our sales person. He helped us understand everything. Within 2 weeks our solar panels were up and working. Miguel was always with us a long the way. He always had time for us. My bill is now $20 a month the cost of hooking up to the grid. No problrems at all.

So far I had not seen any issues or problems. I can appreciate that the installation was solid. All employees ( including salesman and installer / technical team) were very professional and helpful. Installation took a little time to start due to HOA, but once they started, it went at a good rate and at a good quality. Everything was check (good quality control) and everything was on schedule (including county inspection). I am happy, panels are saving money and it give you some satisfaction that you are doing something for the environment. Company was flexible in price and treat me with well. Highly recommended.

Our original installation went very well. Any questions we had were answered quickly and accurately. When we had to get new shingles after a hail storm (our panels came thru fine!), we had to have the panels removed. The morning they crew showed up we had snow! So, they brushed the panels off and came back later to remove them. When we had the panels reinstalled, the crew came back and got the job done. But, before that, they clued me in on how to get a city inspector out right away to approve the roofing job! The city inspectors were behind by several months, which wouldn't be a problem except we wanted the panels back on! When I told the city we had solar panels, they jumped us to the top of the list and we got the inspection done in a day or so. Good people at Peak View Solar

From the sales to installation we had HONEST and Accurate service! Professional workers that were respectful to even neighbors , no bad language, LOVE the savings and they were the best deal! We had 3 companies come out and Peak Solar IS the very best! They also offer more financing solutions than competitors so every day people can take advantage of they great deal!

We love our solar system by Peak Solar. The sales rep who handled our proposal did a good job, was polite, conscientious and answered our questions thoroughly and in a timely manner. They showed up when they said they would. The installers were amazing! They have a rhythm that was awesome to watch, clearly they have done this many times before as a team. The owner even showed up to check on the installation! We were pleased with the entire process from start to finish. We highly recommend Peak View Solar.

The first solar company that gave me an estimate, stated "at best, we can install a system that will generate 40% of your needs, We do not think that your roof is stable enough." All this from a Google picture, they never asked. John laughed when I told him, and ten minutes later he designed a great system for us. Since the system has been fully operational, the only electric bill we have received is the service connection fee, less than $15 a month. Any questions that I have had, Gin has found an answer, in just a few minutes, or an hour or so. I wish every organization performed as well as Peak View Solar has for us. The installation went exactly as was described, and the techs were friendly and knowledgeable. They took the time to answer all my questions, no matter how mundane they were. From start to finish, our experience with Peak View Solar has been outstanding. I would recommend them to anyone wanting to move to solar. Incidentally, even though it is not advertised, our system is already paying for itself. Though we do not pay the minimum finance charge, the minimum payment is $35 less than our average monthly electric bill. It is a total win in every way.

Once things got started the install was very smooth and well done. The system is now 15 months old and is working very well.

I want to thank Travis White and Peak View Solar for their extensive work with Colorado Springs Utility (CSU), and a wonderful installation of a 9K system on two different roof lines. I really appreciate their navigation of the mountain of CSU paper work in order to qualify for rebates, tax incentives and net metering. I even gave Travis my roll-over CSU worksheet and he agreed turn it in for me. The installation has been problem free and I have been assured that if their were any problems they would assist in warranties and fixes. I highly recommend Peak View Solar for your next solar installation, qualification for tax incentives an net metering. GR

Helpful and knowledgeable about the current state of the Solar industry. Made solid recommendations on panels and inverter. Was flexible in accommodating my preferences for routing wiring for external appearance and an unusual house electrical panel installation (they also performed a panel upgrade). The bottom line is that the installed system "just works" without any additional or ongoing work on my part. The local utility representatives concurred with that assessment, saying Peak View Solar (dba/ El Paso Green Energies) is the best installer in town for completing installations that do not require re-work or additional trips from building inspectors or utility reps. They do have good post-installation warranty and tech support as part of their installation, although I have not needed to use them yet. They were helpful in preparing all contacts and forms with outside entities such as my homeowner association, building department and utility.

All of the people along the way from sales to installation were knowledgeable and professional. My many questions were addressed and the office of Peak View Solar was prompt and always helpful.

Entire process was handled professionally. We were provided regular contact with the front office to keep us informed on when things were happening or someone would be at the house. All in all, easy and smooth. After the installation, which happened as scheduled, it took longer than I expected to get everything hooked up but that is just the process - inspection, permits, utility company hook up, etc. All in all took about 2 months to get everything up and generating power.

Phil and his team from El Paso Green Energies were prompt and efficient. The installation took 5 days total from beginning through to final inspections. Phil spent all necessary time to discuss options and work up a plan that maximized the system I could install within the limitations of the local electric coop and that would be be best performing given my specific location and sun exposure. They explained everything and answered all my questions before, during and after the installation. The owners of this company are local in Colorado Springs but work all around the county. They were the lowest price of three quotes. This could be attributed to the low overhead of their company. El Paso Green Energies did a great job, I worked with them on the system I wanted. They worked up the size and cost, confirmed it would work at the location. All permits were done, no issue on install. The system is up and running without any issues.

Phil did a great job, we love our system. He even helped us when we couldn't agree were way we wanted to put the panels. He suggested adding a pergola facing south in the backyard and that fit both of our desires to have an Efficient system yet not to take up too much usable area of the backyard.

We have been very pleased with the efficiency and output of our PV system. El Paso Green Energies was a great company to work with. From start to finish, they delivered a first rate product and quality installation. They worked well with my roofing company to install system at the same time as a re-roof. Great job, very pleased.

Phil and Nancy Brodhagen seem like old friends even though I just met them. Phil explained everything thoroughly, and patiently continued to explain it until I understood. He looked at several roof options until he decided which one would produce the best results. He even noticed that a solar tube I had installed earlier wasn`t turned in the best direction and fixed it. My house (3600 sq. ft) has all electric baseboard heat, and the system is producing about 1/3 of the energy needed even though this past week had temperatures way below average. The system has only been operating about one month and I am very pleased with it. If I decide to install more panels or to add solar hot water heat I will definitely have him do the work. I have referred him to several friends. I found him through Angie`s List and his prices were much lower than other contractors I called for the same installation. I misunderstood what Phil said about the payment and thought I was supposed to pay the difference after the rebates and he accommodated me.

Phil and Nancy were very professorial and knowledgeable about the product, and wer always available when I called with questions. EI Paso Green Energies Informed me of the incentive and it is my responsibility to act on them.

An outstanding experience, from top-to-bottom. Highly-recommended, professional and knowledgable, this is an honest, straight-forward company that really cares about clients.

Interested potential clients are welcome to examine the systems to get a better idea of what is involved. Each also has a computer hookup which allows remote monitoring, but I confess I seldom access the data. I plan to contract with El Paso Green Energies again for another system to be installed on a cabin in the mountains. As far as I can remember, the only inspector-generated change was the addition of another heavy-gauge Copper wire grounding system to the roof panels, which were already well grounded by a similar size Copper wire attached to a deeply driven ground rod.
