Solar Energy World installed a solar system on my 4100 sf home when my town had a "join together" event that made it more affordable. I chose to get a system approximately 1/2 the full recommended size, due to cost, and a Tesla battery for backup. I could not be happier with my system. It has over performed from the very first day. I currently am getting approximately 70% of my energy needs from the system, when I was hoping for half, and on sunny days I export more than I use. This includes charging my Tesla car by solar. My bill dropped from $800 a month to about $200 immediately, even before I could sell back energy to Duke energy. I can't wait to see my next bill, now that I am exporting more than I use on many days. I expect my ROI to be much shorter than I had anticipated. From the very first, my sales contact Damien Odle was fantastic. He was very professional, friendly, and had the answers to my questions. He has stayed in touch by text (my preference) throughout the process. If my question required further communication with the installers, he got back to me immediately after finding the answer. Even after the process, he has been available to continue to answer questions about the process and the technology. Absolutely outstanding customer service and seamless installation! I could not be happier with my experience. I love my solar roof! So does the earth and my bank account. Thank you, Solar Energy World and Damien.

Efficient, professional, and detail-oriented
Solar Energy World managed my entire solar installation from design to activation, and overall I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. They handled every step — HOA approval, permitting, installation, inspections, and interconnection — very efficiently, completing the full process faster than I expected. My sales rep, Nick, was fantastic from day one: knowledgeable, patient, and quick to answer every question I had. He made the decision process smooth and transparent, which really stood out compared to other companies I spoke with. The installation team did excellent work as well, especially with conduit routing. They took extra time to plan the layout so that most of the conduit would be concealed and the finished look would blend cleanly with the house. It’s that level of care that makes a difference. Like any large project, there were a few hiccups along the way, but the SEW team followed through and made sure everything was resolved properly. The system is now up and running beautifully, and I feel confident knowing they’ll stand behind their work long-term. Grateful overall for their help and professionalism — I’d strongly recommend Solar Energy World to anyone considering solar.

Good company to work with
Sales, communication, installation all top notch. The sales process was low key, based on options and information. Communication with both sales rep and company were excellent; very responsive. Was kept informed every step of the way of what was happening, what was next, and when it would happen. Installation went smoothly, approvals happened quickly, and system is up and running. Couldn't ask for a smoother process throughout.

The absolute worst company to communicate with
System was installed after weeks of trying to get questions answered about submitted permit plan that was incorrect. Never got an answer. The scheduler for installation answered the question although not his job. System installed and crew was professional. Did good work except one small mishap knocking hole in the ceiling. One of the Powerwall 3 was DOA. I have been trying for weeks to get an answer on when the system would be functional. I emailed, sent messages on the portal, spoke with salesman never got an answer. I offered to pay solar panel portion of bill, but not the battery portion because 50% does not work. They keep invoicing me, saying its past due. No one will answer and give updates. Finally talked to National service line. Hopefully something will happen. The Florida division does not answer any communication.

Sell the dream, service the nightmare
*I'm in Virginia, but it's the Laurel, Maryland team we've been dealing with, as far as I know.* Sales team: Five stars. Permitting team: Five stars. Installation team and general project management: Zero stars. No organization, no warning before visits, no following instructions about when to show up, understaffed and overworked teams without the capabilities to do the job well and on time. First installation crew left trash everywhere, sloppy metal cuts on the scratched up roof skirt, couldn't figure out how to get a ground stake in, so they broke it off and left it, couldn't finish before dark, and there are still random shingles blowing off my roof three weeks later. Second installation crew was one electrician sent to follow up on the above issues, not enough to properly finish the job, left a a couple feet of broken ground stake buried in the yard, and showed up with no notice in the first place, massively disrupting our week. I'm left with a bitter taste on a huge long-term investment, with no escalation points provided by the team, so I'm leaving reviews to see what happens when customer service sees them.

It got long to get it done (county permission). However, Solar Energy World (SEW) installed it just one day, very professional. I recommend SEW, if any one want solar on your roof.

If you are seriously considering solar do not use this company , at some point you will need to use they’re customer service/ repair service, good luck with that….. 7 weeks since we lost our solar service outside of Tampa , Florida in the middle of summer, we are still waiting for a new inverter , and as I’m typing this we still don’t know if and when we will get a new one ……. customer service will tell you that the service department will be scheduling something with you…. and we’ll ….. STILL WAITING!

I had a great experience working with Solar Energy World on my recent solar panel installation. From start to finish, the process was smooth, professional, and well-communicated. Joshua, my sales rep and main point of contact, was fantastic—friendly, knowledgeable, and always responsive to my many questions. He made what could’ve been a complicated process feel easy and manageable. Victoria handled the administrative side of things with impressive efficiency. I especially appreciated that she dealt directly with my HOA (not always the easiest group to work with), saving me time and hassle. The install team was excellent—quick, professional, and super friendly throughout. There was a small mix-up during the process, but the team lead, Tanner, immediately took action to correct it. He escalated the issue to Santos, a manager, who personally called me to walk through our options. He was clear, reassuring, and committed to making sure everything got sorted out—and it did. Overall, I highly recommend Solar Energy World. They communicate well and care about doing a good job. Great experience all around!
