The process from initial contact to installation was very smooth and quick. At the end of the project, there were some delays to coordinate town inspection and electricity company activation, which could (should) be improved to get the system connected to the grid.

A breath of fresh air

Where most solar companies are interested in turning a quick buck, Green Power Energy’s attention to detail and high quality customer service is a breath of fresh air. They do a great job educating on your options and are not too pushy in their approach. Once you decide to proceed, it’s breeze. They are responsive to calls, set up a convenient web portal for you, and continue the education process in person once on site. Their crew did a great job, no complaints. And now we’re saving literally hundreds per month for the next couple decades. Don’t think twice - Just call Green Power Energy. You won’t regret it.

Well Rounded and Professional!

After seeing their extensive history of positive reviews I decided on Green Power for my solar installation. Throughout the duration of the project, they were incredibly responsive to my many questions and inquiries. Overall it was quite seamless, and even when there was a hiccup in the materials delivery they were immediate to fix it. I am still receiving excellent support in questions following the installation and with monitoring my system. I don't have a single regret and I am looking forward to the opportunity to recommend them to anyone i know!

GPE was a pleasure to work with. The Sales team was extremely available and excellent at answering technical questions and system design. Install was timely, fast and problem free. The system is producing exactly as predicted. The post install customer support is also excellent.

Excellent Company

Our experience with Green Power Energy was excellent from start to finish. The sales person was extremely informative and spent over an hour explaining how the system would work, what was right for our needs, the various incentives available, and answering all of our questions. And there were no high pressure sales tactics, whuch is always a plus. Once we signed the contract, the process went very smoothly and the system was installed without hassle. The longest part was simply waiting for the town and utility company to approve things so we could move forward. As soon as the approvals were ready Green Power got the install scheduled and completed. The warranty they offered is the best on the market from what we saw, and their follow-up support staff seem great so far. The system has been running for about 2 months and even with high A/C usage this summer it has covered 100% of our electricity usage. The one minor complaint I would have is that while we were waiting for utility and town approval (about 2 months), they didn't provide updates proactively. But when we reached out to them they were quick to give us a project status. I would absolutely recommend Green Power to anyone who is interested in solar and have already referred family and friends who have asked.

GPE installed 25 solar panels and a battery system in our house in May 2022. I waited to write a review to ensure that the entire process was complete and the system was up and running for a bit. We had some hiccups during the process - timelines shifted on install and the battery hookup took longer than anticipated due to some complexities in the setup. That being said, I would still recommend GPE. We had this system installed at a time when there were labor shortages and supply chain issues, so the delays weren't surprising. They have been responsive to all of our questions and have local employees who have come out same day or next day whenever we had questions about the system. 4 months in, we're very happy with how our system is performing and would recommend to those looking to switch to solar.

Great organization!

I just did an install with Green Power Energy. I can not be happier. They were so good about communication every step of the way. I felt confident that they cared about me and my installation even after the sale was complete. I would recommend them also as they have their own crews and don’t sub work out to people who don’t care. I can’t recommend them enough.

Great company… until you need actual service

Had my system installed 2 years ago. Up until now, everything was relatively great, and I have been satisfied overall. Since 7/21/22, my system stopped producing completely. Several contact attempts, and absolutely no response. If someone picks up the phone, they advise that I will get a call back. Not once have they followed through. I emailed the support team hoping for a better outcome, and still nothing. Now it’s been over a month and haven’t produced a single kilowatt. Just another company that promises the world and delivers nothing when it matters to the customer most.

They Did Everything Right

We're supremely happy with GPE. Tyler Jester is our account rep and he's exceedingly clear and honest about the entire process. He and his team are customer service at its very best! It took about 8-9 months from the contract signing until the system was installed and running and GPE took care of absolutely everything with no construction mess or hiccups. Note: the time delay is not on them — there's a complicated permitting and inspections process and a tedious rigamarole with Eversource, all of which was navigated by GPE entirely with NO stress for me. Visuals are very important to me and GPE didn't just plop the panels on the roof: I had final say on the design (after reviewing the feasibility with the sunshine, of course). I have data from the app for the weeks before the system was turned on and every day (and even hour) since. During the hottest part of the summer our electric bill dropped from almost $500 to $60, and now we're producing more than we consume and generating a credit!! There's a tax rebate of $20K, cash-incentives of $2100, and my loan is $197/month, far less than the $297 monthly average of my bills. I like that I'm helping the planet, and my wallet. Go solar and use Green Power Energy to do it. There's no BS, the process is transparent, the people are responsive and terrific, and the system is both powerful and beautiful. It was worth the wait.

After a year of ownership I would recommend looking elsewhere to get your solar system. The investment of solar panels are a great idea but the experience is with Green Power Energy has been a nightmare. It was a slow installation process (signed up in December, got running in July). I went through hell trying to get into the srec program they promised me at signing with the company sending me to the township begging for signatures eventually getting in but it was much harder and more stressful than it should have been. Once the system was up and running I found out I couldn't see how much energy I was using, just how much I was producing which I was promised by the salesman they sent out. A few months after the system was up and running they sent an employee out to go over the system which he left me his email and number for my questions and problems. Unfortunately he hasn't answered my emails or calls recently since I've been having problems. The salesman also promised me that they would be monitoring my system so if there was something wrong with it or underproducing they would get an alert and notify me and we could set up the problem to be fixed. This could not have been less true. Last month my system went down and I didn't realize until a month later. When I called they told me they only got a minor alert so didn't say anything and after fixing it said it's not their problem I lost a month of production. They admitted they've had problems with that salesman lying but did nothing to make it right. If customer service and honesty is something you care about look elsewhere for a company that will treat their customers better. 8/16/22 Update: After 2 years of ownership I can't emphasize strong enough to stay away from this company. This will be the the second summer in a row where my system is completely down. Since this company will not give me the ability to have email alerts sent to me when the system goes down I didn't notice it until mid July that it wasn't producing. About a week later they came out and said it was a communications board they didn't have. At that time I stressed to them to bring a new inverter in case that was the problem and no the communications board. 2 more weeks go by and they show up with the communications board only to tell me it's actually the inverter and what a surprise they don't have one. Now I'm stuck waiting for them to come back and who knows when that will be. Go with someone else and save yourself the headache. Sales process - Greg, the salesman that came to my house to sell me the system, lied to me about monitoring the system and about being able to track how much energy I use with the app. Price charged as quoted - They tried to charge me a fee for using my credit card to make the down payment after I had asked and made sure that paying the down payment with a credit card wouldn't have a fee. On schedule - Before I signed up I was told it'd take around 2-3 months to have the system installed and running. It took them 7 months. Installation quality - Before they installed it I asked them how much room the inverter and shutoff would take on the side of the house and they said around 3x4. I put up a piece of plywood 3x4 and capped it so they could mount it right to the plywood and I would side around it. The inverter and shutoff didn't take up nearly that much room and they bunched them together so it looked terrible. I had to have them come back and spread it out to make it look neater although now there are holes in the capping. After sales support - I wish I could give this negative stars because of how bad their support is. They send an employee out after install that says to contact him if you ever need anything yet if you call or email him you get no response. When you call about problems and ask for a department they will tell you you'll get a call back, sometimes you don't. Outside of hollow apologies they have no interest in actually taking care of the customer once they have your money. Probably the worst part of their support is they send their technicians without the parts they need to repair issues. It's all around terrible.

Amazing Post Sales Experience

Everyone knows working with contractors can become a headache. So you can imagine how surprised I was when working with green power was anything but! The post sales experience with green power was phenomenal. The office staff runs like a well oiled machine. They took care of all the paperwork and logistics and kept me thoroughly updated in the process. If I had any questions or concerns they were quick to respond. When installation day came, the crew they sent were professional and worked fast! I couldn’t be happier! The support didn’t stop there. They continued to stay engaged to ensure all the town and utility inspections were scheduled and completed as quickly as possible. Thanks a lot green power!

Great company, great service

Green Power Energy is great in almost every aspects. Very professional and knowledgeable staff, respond to emails promptly. They are not the cheapest installer out there for sure but they do solid and quality installation from design to completion. We live in a town with quite tough permitting / building ordinances and Green Power Energy tried their best to push things thru. Our system is up and running for almost 2 months and generating happily. Great job and will definitely recommend for any further solar installations.

Very Happy Customer!

I am one very happy customer! Every aspect of my solar install with Green Power Energy went swimmingly. I spoke to a few different companies. GPE was the only one I felt comfortable with. Every person I dealt with at GPE has been professional. Most importantly, my Sales Rep Austin Dow was super responsive, answering all my many questions, never pushy, and remaining engaged throughout the installation process and beyond. Within a day of the approval for install, GPE reached out to schedule. Cue Austin reaching out with some advice about a couple of considerations for the install. Within a week the installers arrived. I was consulted onsite regarding where the conduit should go, and where the main panel, PV meter and disconnect should be located. I knew what to ask for. In less than 2 days, everything was complete. A couple of weeks later, the Township attended for inspections .. everything passed first time. The only waiting I did was on PSEG and the Township; GPE was always prompt. My system has been running for a month now. I have had zero issues.

Communication and Honesty

We are very happy with our experience so far with Green Power Energy. We've had a couple of hiccups in the process (some panels not working) and they've been communicative and have explained the issues to us to make sure we get up and running. They explained the incentives well and have been a great partner.

Give GPE A Moment Of Your Time...

Green Power were a pleasure to work with from start to finish. Sales advisor Sal was very hands off with no pressure but was there very quickly when I had questions. Once financial approvals were had, which were pretty seemless the install was quick and handled professionally in just 1 day. The one month follow up with Kevin after becoming 100% fully solar was unexpected and seemingly unnecessary but in the end was very informative and appreciated. Lastly, on month number 1 my $0 electric bill to Eversource makes this whole experience a complete win. If you're considering solar, give Green Power your time and attention...

Great Experience

For anyone reading this review, even if you don't go with Green Power, I would recommend another installer that has a long history in your area, positive reviews, and reasonable price. In north Jersey, I didn't see any others that could compete. And after quote, design, installation, and setup, I'd happily recommend Green Power to anyone. After researching around and getting quotes, Green Power Energy was not the cheapest installer (more like middle of the pack for cost), but they had the best reviews and longest time running as a company. My main takeaways for selecting solar systems in general were that cost should be a factor, but overall customer support including long term maintenance are most critical since you want the system to run well for at least 2 decades. As far as the actual quote, system design, installation, and setup, we had very few issues, and Green Power teams were great and 100% willing to work together on any mishaps along the way. We had no issue until installation when there was some confusion about where some wires could be run, and how to monitor our home electric consumption with two 200A sub-panels (the answer is to install one set of Enphase consumption CT's per sub-panel). But overall, the quote didn't change much from beginning to end, the build was surprisingly on schedule in this world of delays and shortages, the system is right on track or slightly better than the projection, and the support team was great at every step along the way. Green Power Energy has been a great installer and we have high confidence that even if there's an issue years from now, they'll be able and willing to help.

Outstanding Experience

Green Power Energy just installed a full solar system in my house and I couldn't have been more pleased with the whole process. At all times, Green Power Energy kept me informed of what was happening and what would be happening in the next stage of the installation/permit gathering process. Then, after installation, I received a call from their customer service professional, who was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in letting me know some additional ideas for saving money and how my system would be working. All in all, a great experience!

Best Solar Company Out There

I have gone through 11 different solar companies and I landed on Green Power Energy. They are non salesy and great to work with. I love the non confusing way they explain things and have it so neatly organize. Whole staff was sweet. I also like how they don't use 42 million other contractors to make everything work. They just get it done.

Very professional and follow up calls, emails even after months.

A smooth timely installation of 27 panels on my roof. All the people I emailed, talked to and installers are very professional, responsive and patient. They answered all my questions as well as there was a follow up calls, email going back and forth even after the full payment and completion of installation. Even my friends who I recommended had very good experience and spoke highly about Green Power Energy.

Professional and Customer Focused

GPE provided a very professional pre-sale, design, installation, and post-install (e.g., grid interconnect) service. They listened during the pre-sale process, considered our plans to add a heat pump system into the solar design. While this may seem unremarkable, there were other solar contractors that did not listen. Our roof has multiple surfaces and the GPE panel placement made logical sense, whereas with others we had concerns. The pre-sale onsite survey was very through. All the local permitting, utility interconnect, and state SREC-II paperwork was professionally handled by GPE. The Neon Black LG panels are great looking and blend nicely with our charcoal-colored shingles. We love the panel-level system monitoring provided by the Enphase micro-inverters.
