The whole process went smoothly. However, very poor communications to status of the installation. Guys who did the actual installation were very professional.

A system installed w/ tight specifications re RF Noise

I contracted with Green Power Energy to install a solar energy system on my house. I had very specific requirements due to a hobby of mine that cannot tolerate RF noise. Although out of the ordinary, they were able to construct the system as I specified and the cost was reasonable.

Great product, quick install, opportunity to improve final steps

The process from initial contact to installation was very smooth and quick. At the end of the project, there were some delays to coordinate town inspection and electricity company activation, which could (should) be improved to get the system connected to the grid.

Communication and Honesty

We are very happy with our experience so far with Green Power Energy. We've had a couple of hiccups in the process (some panels not working) and they've been communicative and have explained the issues to us to make sure we get up and running. They explained the incentives well and have been a great partner.

Green Power Energy excellent job

We are very satisfied with Green Power Energy. The configuration, installation and placement of the panels were done professionally and aesthetically. After a month we are already seeing the benefits of solar energy. All the work was done in a timely manner. We would highly recommend.

Great value and communication, kind of a lengthy process

The variety and quality of the products GPE provides is top notch. The sales process was honest, and the line of communication with their office was open and frequent. I will say it took ~6 months from initial conversation to turning my panels on, but I learned that the industry itself is a bottleneck with town permits and code regulations, etc. I guess I would have liked a bit more transparency about that up front to manage my expectations / avoid frustration. There also was one hiccup with the installation that caused a very minor leak in my roof... but the very next day GPE had people come out and fix the problem for not additional cost or time added to the process. Overall a good experience, and for the amount of money I'm saving with GPE, I'd say it has all been 100% worth it!

I chose Green Power after lots of research. They offered competitive pricing and good equipment. I did a loan through Clean Energy CU so that i wasn't leasing the equip but would own all equip when paid. There were a few delays that I had to follow up with and push along but over all great program and system

professional and clear

We used EnergySage.com to understand the value of solar panels, our needs, receive and compare competitive quotes from installers who are members of their organization. Green Power Energy was our final choice and we were completely satisfied with our decision to purchase our panels, and have GPE install them under less than ideal circumstances given the pandemic. Proud to have made switch to solar for our planet. Our only disappointment was that 6 months later in August our neighbor signed a contract with GPE but wasn't able to get their panels installed before the end of this year due to covid delays at the city hall permitting office.

Great overall experience!

We had a great experience with Green Power Energy when installing our ground mount solar system! For the most part, there was efficient communication throughout the process and the follow up customer service post installation was great, as it explained how everything works!

Solar Panel Installation Review

I chose Green Power Energy because they appeared to have the best ratings of all the companies available in my area and they did not disappoint. All of the work was professionally accomplished with no issues. When the system was finally activated it worked as advertised. These folks are not high-pressure, sign on the dotted line associates. They know they have a great product, and offer it in a forthright manner. They did explain that the whole process would take time and it did- six months from initial contact to system activation. I recommend then highly.

Everyone wins part 2

I feel bad that I was only able to give a 4 instead of a 5 for the second part of my review. You need to read carefully and understand what occurred. The installation and everything leading up tp the inspection by PSE&G was a 5. The PSE&G inspector came and failed the system because the meter pan outside my house was rusted and he would not put in the new meter unless the pan was replaced. He also turned off the solar system and locked the box so that it could not be turned on. He felt it was Green Power's responsibility to replace the pan. The company said it was not part of the solar energy system so that it was my responsibility to replace the pan. The company then came back to me and said they would be willing to split the cost. I felt I had no choice and agreed to this. I understand why Green Power thought it was my responsibility and do not feel that they tried to get 'over' on me. I felt that when they came out to see if we could install solar energy this matter should have been discussed. I lost a month of production while the system was off. Green Power sent electricians out quickly to correct the situation. It took PSE&G month to re-inspect and approve the system and change the meter. The key to this situation was my salesman Barry. He was extremely helpful and went back to the company and got them to refund my half of the pan replacement cost. Barry gets a 6 for the way he has helped and handled this whole project. Everyone I have been in contact either personally or by phone has been great to work with. Would I use Green Power if I had to do it all over again? A resounding yes. Would I recommend Green Power to others. Absolutely. That is why the number on my rating can be considered a little misleading. What I described is much more important and gives a full picture of my experience. I have told Barry he can use me as a reference any time. I hope you learn from my experience and watch out for this issue at your home.

Overall Good Experience

Tim was great and to date the system has delivered what was promised. I would have gone 5 but for a few bumps along the way. 1) The project timeline was delayed with little or no communication on the status (once it got restarted the communication improved) 2) I was told multiple times the electricians would address an issue with the conduit running to my meter during the install, this never happened and the electricians disappeared like the wind. The system has been running for around 6 months and overall I am happy with it. i see some issues myself now Michael Lapham's icon
