Green Power Energy

So we first got in contact with green power in Aug 2022. They said it would be installed by end of the year. Well it's now mid April and still not complete. Seems like there's always a new excuse. I finally kept on them enough to get the system installed. But now they don't seem to care about scheduling an inspection with the town. I keep getting more and more excuses. They never follow threw with anything. They pretty much got their money and ran even tho the system isn't able to operate. This whole thing has turned into a total nightmare, now I'm stuck with Solar payment AND power bills. I DO NOT recommend green power to anybody. Do yourself a favor and save the headaches, issues and fake promises and use a better company that will actually carry out the work. I am Extremely frustrated and disappointed.

I was referred to Green Power Energy by my best friend, and normally we don’t question each other when recommendations are given, and this experience is no different. Austin Dow reached out to me when I lost my mom and the timing wasn’t right so we kept the conversation short, I set a timeline that was far out (8 months), most sales reps would have either deleted the lead or have been too aggressive and called back before the timeline provided. When we did touch base the first thing he asked was about my family and again to apologize for my loss, that little extra was important to me and know I could trust him and a future relationship with Green Power. Austin took the time to explain the whole process, cost and timelines with me and he was patient with every answer. He walked us through everything and checked in during every step to see if we had any additional questions. All expectations met with GPE

I first reached out to GPE in Q3 2022 to understand the billing and install phases, and from that initial Q&A was given a rendering of where and how the panels would be placed, how much energy would be generated, expected rebates in NJ, and multiple payment options. Every milestone date given by GPE was met ahead of schedule (including of course the install before EOY for the tax credit!) which are the good surprises that you want. They proactively notified me of every step and frankly made my to-do list as small as possible to the point where, outside of a few approvals, I did not have to get involved with registration or scheduling. Now we're a few months post-install, everything is working correctly and I'm a net exporter so far which is a great feeling. Out of the dozen choices for installers in north NJ I'm glad I went with GPE and will happily add to their growing 5 star ratings.

We used Green Power Energy for our solar project. From beginning to end they did a great job. Price was fair, project was run professionally, installation crew worked long hours to get the project done. We are thrilled with the system so far and highly recommend them to others.

Highly Recommend

Green Power Energy installed a 12.4kW system with battery backup for us in October 2022. I waited for a bit to leave a review just to have some time with the system. Prior to signing with GPE, I had looked at solar on and off for 15 years. In 2022, we decided it was time and the search for 'the' company for our install began. GPE was not the least expensive, nor was it the most expensive, quote that I received. What pushed us towards GPE was their reviews, but also their way of doing business. To get information on exactly what we needed for our roof, they didn't need a deposit (that may change with time), they did not run a credit check, they only required permission to access my home and roof. When we committed to GPE, we didn't sign first and hope for the best, we knew exactly what they were promising to install. Their payment terms throughout the whole process were extremely fair to us and to them. Signing for solar, especially when a battery is involved, is much of a 'hurry up and wait' process. From signing to install date was about 6 months but was slowed down by things within CT's new programs that were out of GPE's control, as well as by changes we made to install the max number of panels. My salesman, Peter Dunne, was honest, open, responded within hours of any inquiry I made and over the course of our project, I asked a ton of questions. Taylor, who was my point of contact during the waiting period for plans, permits, approvals, kept us very well informed and again, responded promptly to any inquiry. When I had some questions and concerns on what was being installed once our engineering plans were received, Eric Dornfeld contacted me directly and explained why they were doing the install their way and how it would benefit me over what I was interested. He was right, I was wrong - he took the time to explain. Ben, my electrician, was fantastic - he took time to explain things he was doing and cleaned up every day before he left (battery installs take longer than a solar only install). Our town inspector, who also had done electrical work, was impressed by his work. Every crew that GPE sent to my home was respectful, kind, personable, efficient and cleaned up our property before they left like treating our home just as they would their own. We've had our solar for 5 months now. We have had 3 minor electrical outages which have ranged from minutes to many hours. Our system has run better than we could have expected; the switch from grid to battery backup in outages has been so seamless, we didn't realize it the first time. Green Power Energy was well worth our long wait in delving into the world of solar.

Green Power Energy was the company I chose to handle the Solar installation in my new home, and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Every interaction with the Sales, Installation, and Office personnel was pleasant and productive. They took the time to meet me at my home and go over the plans and requirements for my system as well as answer all of my questions and concerns about solar energy, the installation process, and financing. This was really the selling point for me in my decision. I truly appreciated the time they took to help me feel comfortable with the decision from both a capacity requirement and as a financial investment. After reviewing the proposal, all I needed to do was say "Go" and GPE handled all the rest. The whole process from start to finish was extremely easy to coordinate with the green power team. They worked diligently while on-site at my home, and kept me informed of the status while awaiting all the various permits, inspections, and application dependencies. My system has been live since December and I am beyond satisfied with the results. I look forward to having GPE support my system into the future. I cannot recommend GPE enough for anyone in the service area looking to install solar on their home.

All around great experience

It took me over a year to commit to a solar project and sign a contract with Green Power Energy. Over the course of that year, I had multiple conversation with their sales rep, AJ, who patiently answered my questions and was never pushy. I can't say the same for other companies I spoke with. Best example of their transparent, non-pushy approach to sales? I was considering adding batteries to my system but there were a number of complex variables to consider. The sales rep, answered to his best abilities but ultimately setup an appointment with their in-house battery pro. He explained in detail why batteries were NOT a good value for me. That honesty was much appreciated and saved me tens of thousands of dollars. When I finally did sign on the dotted line, the solid customer service continued. They were extremely transparent and easy to get in touch with throughout the entire process. It's truly turnkey service. They take care of everything from permits to filings with the utility. When all was said and done, there was a stubborn problem with the app incorrectly reporting usage and production. To their great credit, they had people come out to address the issue multiple times until it was resolved. Again, communication was excellent as they worked to resolve the issue (which they did resolve ultimately!). All told, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Green Power Energy.

I have been a solar customer with them since basically the start of 2023- and the panels are generating way more energy than was “planned”. Which is great of course! Also very responsive with any questions/issues, etc. glad I listened to my friend and went with them

A Great Experience

Going solar with Green Power Energy has been a great experience. Our Sales representative, Andrew, was patient with us from our initial meeting with him. Andrew is extremely knowledgeable and was able to answer all our questions. After multiple meetings and emails, my husband and I decided to put our solar discussions on pause for a few months, and Andrew was so understanding. When we were finally ready to move forward, Andrew was the first person we reached out to because of how wonderfully he reacted when we paused. The installation was organized promptly and completed quickly and efficiently. The after-sales service from Kevin has been wonderful and extremely helpful.

Great company

Green Power Energy made working with them easy from the initial proposal, which was very competitive, through the approval process, installation, and followup. They arrived when promised for the property survey as well as installation. The installers cleaned up carefully after themselves and any schedule slips were due to township inspection and utility replacing the meter so system could be turned on. I was very pleased.

Green Power was, and is, great to work with, Customer Service was responsive and on top of things. I had a glitch with my data uploads (not Green Power's fault) and then worked with the manufacturer and got everything worked out and upgraded.

Green Power Energy just completed the solar job at our property. From beginning to end they made the process very easy. They took care of everything with applications and permits and always kept us updated along the way. We did encounter an issue after installation. Green Power ordered a part to fix the issue and came back out to install the part and made sure the issue was resolved. They have a great customer support team! We will recommend Green Power Energy to friends, family, and neighbors.

Smooth & Informative

My husband and I made a huge change leaving the city and moving to the woods! We understood that power outages are not that unusual where we live so going solar seemed like a reasonable option. We didn't know very much about solar. We contacted several companies, but of them all, Green Power Solar provided the most informative and patient presentation and made the best impression on us both. They even helped us with favorable financing. We wanted a ground mount on a property that could be described as a tremendous hill! That challenge did not pose a problem at all! The crew that installed our equipment always arrived at the promised time and with pleasant demeanors! All the permits were secured, and the inspections went without a hitch. That is not the end of the relationship. We were 'tutored' on how to decipher the Enlighten app and what to expect down the road from our utility company. Understanding all of this is crucial. You don't know what you don't know! I was never made to feel ignorant and that means a lot!

Great company and staff from sales to install are all top notch. The sales guy Adam didn't pressure me to buy anything. I worked with me until I feel comfortable buy and install the equipment. The installers are all professional. It was a great experience for me being my first solar installation. I will definitely recommend this company.

Would recommend

Just had Green Power Energy installed 50 Qcell 360 and IQ8+ on my roof. They did good work. The wire runs were clean and everything looks great. They were very responsive with all the questions you have and explained everything in detail throughout the process. Contract signed in May and PTO in October. Everything was smooth. Would recommend them in NJ area.

I took about 9 month to install solar panel due to town inspection process but Green power energy was very informative and supportive. excellent customer care and follow up. i recommend.

How going solar SHOULD BE!

Green Power Energy did the solar panel install on my home. 34 QCell panels with micro inverters. Of all the quotes I got they were the cheapest cash price, and cheapest with financing. The sales person was not pushy at all and very knowledgable which was fantastic as I work in the tech industry (not solar panels mind you, but I knew enough to know if I was being BS'd and my salesmen Steve didn't try to BS me once!). The installation crew was fantastic as well, very organized and neat, left my property clean when completed and everything about the install was smooth.

Excellent through the entire process

Green Power Energy was extremely professional and guided me through the entire process. They clearly explained each step of the process and was quick to get back to me with any questions and/or concerns. The price was very reasonable and competitive after shopping around several companies. a satisfied and educated customer is their goal

green power energy is a class act business. what drew me to go with them was the first words from the salesperson.."i am not here to sell you something but to give you all the information you need to make an informed decision.". never any pressure, always available to answer my questions within 24 hours. i read up on the products they use and they are all highly rated in the industry. installation was done in one day and the team strove to create asthestically pleasing non intrusive construction, even taking my outdoor shrubs into consideration. the basement battery installation was also done in the same manner - very clean design. due to a system downloading lapse there was a slight delay in getting the final signoff from my utility company. the operations manager took full ownership for the oversight and offered me a free critter guard as well as an amazon gift card. the company definitely does right for the customer. post operations, i had a 30 minute meeting with the customer service specialist. was very informative and he answered all my questions. the enphase online system is very easy to understand. i'm 70 years old and had not issues at all. ended the meeting with his giving me his direct number should i need to contact him. almost forgot about the free energy home audit green energy paid for. the company they used did a very thorough job inspecting and insulated my home in places i totally neglected. all in all, it has been a very positive experience dealing with green power energy. their staff, the materials used, system education and work ethic is very top notch. i highy recommend them.

Our experience

We found Green Energy through the Energy Sage website. They had the best deal on the types of panels and installation we were looking for. After I reached out to them they walked and talked us through the process- broke down how installations, permitting and inspections would go. They explained how bills would work with our local utility company and how to get the federal tax credit incentives. The workers that came to our house were friendly and cleaned up after themselves. They made themselves accessible throughout the process. We just received our first negative electric bill yesterday and I was thrilled!
