Greenhouse Solar - Solar Panels
I purchased a solar system from Greenhouse in December 2020. At the time of purchase, I was told the number of panels I was buying would eliminate my electric bill. This proved to be untrue. When I contacted the company about it a year later, they denied the original claim and instead told me I only had "Tier 1" coverage and would need to upgrade to eliminate my bill. In August 2025, I received an electric bill that showed no solar credits. I contacted Greenhouse and was told it would take three weeks (almost a month) before anyone could inspect my system. When they finally did, they determined the inverter box was not functioning and said they would request equipment from Solar Edge and take another 3 weeks to receive and then another few weeks to install. SolarEdge, the manufacturer, confirmed that the inverter is covered under their 12–25 year warranty and agreed to send a replacement unit. However, Greenhouse then informed me they would charge me a service fee to install the warranty replacement. I objected because my system is less than five years old and should not require additional costs to replace failed components. Instead of resolving the issue, the manager suggested I call SolarEdge myself and have the replacement sent to my home, then find another installer. This has been a highly disappointing experience. Greenhouse misrepresented the system’s capabilities, failed to provide timely service, and attempted to shift responsibility to me for warranty repairs. I would caution others to carefully review their contracts and be prepared for a lack of accountability from this company.

Single handedly killing the reputation of this industry..
If you research this company even a little you will find comments like the following.. Review Monte M Date: 09/15/2024 1 star The worst experience in my life regarding working with a company that actually has the nerve to claim good service, product, communication, etc. 2 years into this nightmare, 8 different roof leaks later, last week our living room ceiling fell in on our new $10,000 couch. I don’t know where they are possibly finding anyone to provide a good review. These have to be all fabricated lies. No company can provide good service while at the same time screwing this many people. It’s impossible. You either care about your reputation or you don’t. These people obviously do not. They also installed solar panels on a roof that was visibly 25 years old and not in good repair. The homeowners insurance company advised the roof needed to be repaired by May 26th 2024. In pursuit of trying to get the solar panels removed, which were just installed no more than 2 months prior, they refused to remove the panels until the power company was contacted to activate the system. Once that happened the company then advised that they would charge a uninstall reinstall fee of ****** (she hasnt made the first payment yet) on something that wasnt even installed for 90 and only activated for a total of 4 days as of this writing. The contractor should have seen that the roof was truly in no condition. The people they had patrolling the neighborhood were not experts to verify if the roof indeed was in good repair. The contractors that installed the roof should have never installed the roof as professionals they should have seen the roof was old and refused to install until the roof was repaired. They are willing to see an elderly person lose their homeowners insurance in pursuit of a dollar. They did advise you can use another contractor but you would have to pay 250 for them to inspect the work and if it isnt good the warranty will be voided. I am sure they will advise the warranty would be voided regardless because they are an unscrupulous company that preys on people with predatory high pressured sales. This company preyed on an underserved community of disadvantaged homeowners by using high pressured sales tactics and misrepresented the savings, and sales tax credit for the purchase of the system. This company also sent unqualified people, who showed fake reviews, and pictures in order to pressure a sale with this company for a predatory 25 year lease agreement. He LIED about the entire process, He said she (homeowner) would NEVER have to pay, or communicate with TECO (***** ***************** EVER AGAIN. He guaranteed that homeowner would receive a residential energy tax credit, which would be $10,000. She never received it. Before she signed contract, she asked him about that credit and he GUARANTEED she would receive that money. The sales guy explained to (homeowner), that she would have a choice to put that money from the residential energy credit towards solar panels in order to lower her payments. So homeowner was relying on that money to have her payments lowered. Greenhouse needs to be held accountable. Its not right for them to take advantage of homeowners who are trying to do something better for themselves and their homes. Homeowner was paying for solar panels at least 5 months before they were working. She was making these solar payments while paying full electricity bills. When she asked for a refund/help, Greenhouse refunded her 3 months of payments only if she signed and NDA. She needed that money to pay other bills, so she signed. NO company should be asking customers to sign an NDA. That means you know you are doing dishonest business.She couldn't get management to speak with her for over a year, and finally was able to talk to a representative from Greenhouse, and Goodleap (the payment company) in April 2023. The end result she wanted was to either get out of the contract or get a lower payment. They won't do either for her even though Greenhouse breached certain clauses in contract. When sales rep came to the house he told us that they could put the solar on for us and we would need 21 panels to make the amount of power we used. That was great. Now he tells us what the coast is going to be, and all that seamed fine. So we thought that was good it would lower our bill and that was what we wanted. Being on a fixed income we needed to bring the coast down on our electric. The installation went well, they were in and out in just a day. Only one thing the installer said there was a problem on installing the panels where we had agreed on so he added the ones that were supposed to go on to the right front to the main house. I was not sure if that was for convince or that their engineer designed it was wrong? We waited to get the info from the power company that came and I tried to fill it out but they asked if i had received the manuals and the instructions on how the system worked? What ! I had not received any thing and they wanted me to sign off that i knew how the system worked. So i call Green House and they told that they did not have any of that. After several conversations they got me the manual but didn't not have any buddy to tell me how to operate it. Now comes the kicker after signing the paper work for duke energy, they tell me there will be a $30 a month charge on top of what we pay for the solar. So now the electric bill will be more then we pay now with no chance of getting ahead . At any time Green House never gave us that information. If that was known we would not made this purchase. Green House did not give us all the info needed to make an informed decision. Now after having the system installed we are Stuck. Here are the facts: 1. The sales guy lied to me and I would have never signed if I knew the true financial information. The 25% "solar tax credit" is not refundable - regardless of the empty promises Green House trains their solar techs to make. However, if this was the only issue I had I wouldn't be writing this review. 2. I signed my contract in December and my solar panels were installed in January. Very quick! The only problem is they didn't start working until June. And they would have undoubtedly not still not have been working if I didn't call these people multiple times per week since March! They are so nice and professional on the phone and every time I speak with them I am apologized to and am promised the problem will get fixed ASAP. Then they don't follow through. Every week or couple of weeks its the same story on repeat. 3. The worst part of my experience is asking for a refund for the 4 months I was charged full price for these useless metal decorations on my roof while they weren't saving me any money. I've called every week since mid-June (about 6 weeks) to ask for a refund. I sent my FPL bills to show they werent saving me any money. The company is making me beg and plead for them to give me an answer to this request. Every week I'm told they'll call me back in a few days. Every week I have to call them to remind them. These people are great sales men. They have a fantastic sales presentation to get you to sign. They promise the world. Buyer beware. Biggest Mistake
Green House Solar and Air is by far the worst home improvement contractors ever. they tore up our fence and septic system lines when installing 36 solar panels to our home and refuse to correct their mistake, 40/50 feet long and 12" deep gutter still remains in our yard, going on 2 year now. we were paying between $300/$350 per month for electricity before Green House Solar and Air installed this Enphase system with a 10kwh battery backup and now we still after a year paying around $200 per month makes me wonder what we would be paying if we didn't opted for a battery backup. Also our panels does not charge our battery when off grid mode is selected, we would be out of luck if we had a major power outage disaster for any extended period of time, it wasn't worth it with Green House

I met with several solar companies before making a selection and like the great insight and willingness to share as much information up front from GH. We had to work through getting our roof replaced first through our insurance before actually getting our solar system installed and GH was easy keeping GH in the loop. GH even made sure our HOA had all the needed information for our installation. There were a few delays over the holidays (Christmas/new years), which was expected but communication with the GH team was always good. Install only took 1 day and then we were ready for approval with FPL. System has been performing well so far, enphase app is great for tracking. Overall happy with our purchase.

Sales guy was great, rest - not so much
The sales guy was pretty awesome. He knew the answers to my questions. The installation on the roof was good but not great, had to come back and install missing clips before the hurricane came. THEY ARE ROOFERS, NOT ELECTRICIANS. The flexible conduit through the roof was poorly installed and boxes were left open when it rained, just a lack of training overall. In placing calls to their tech support about the electrical, I never received a call back - it has been 6 months. Now for the electrical in the solar control panel. They had no clue. There is a complete diagram on the inside of the solar panel cover - which they could not follow to wire correctly. The CTs (that monitor load and supply), were either not installed correctly and some were not installed on the load side. Without these, you have no idea what the system is doing. Working with the manufacturer, I rewired the panel and CTs, installed the missing ones. Once this was done, I found that the meter was not recording correctly. Working with FPL, they reprogramed the meter and for the last 3 months, everything is working correctly and as promised. The panels and inverters have a 25 year warranty, the electronics 5 years. The sales guy was told 25 for everything - he has been updated.

BUYER BEWARE! Inferior product and unprofessional service.
BUYER BEWARE! Green House Solar and Air, Inc. did an analysis on the number of solar panels I would need to cover 100% of my usage based on the previous 12 months using the actual bills from Duke Energy. Their analysis showed 14 panels would produce 111% of the energy I used but I decided to purchase 16 panels in order to ensure it would cover all of my energy usage. The additional two panels would produce an 14% more on top of the 111%, based on simple math, so the total should be approximately 125%. Within two months of the installation, I began to notice that the panels were not producing enough energy to keep up with my normal usage, according to the Solar Edge app. His first reason was that my system is more than 5 meters away from the energy meter. I live in a townhome so if that was the case, he should have known that it would be a problem. He later gave me different reasons that also did not make sense. Since I’ve had the solar panels for three years, I’ve had to pay out of pocket for more energy used than produced. I was even deployed to Afghanistan for 257 days during the first year and no one was living in my home at the time so this did not make any sense. The worst part of this is the unprofessionalism and complete lack of customer service on the part of Mr. Whipple. He will reply that they did all kinds of analysis and research but when I asked for them, he never provided them to me. The only reply was that he reached out to engineers and stated my system was working tip-top without anything to back it up. I’ve added some screen shots that show his unprofessional statements. Those range from him accusing me of having an ulterior motive that I am selling my home, using more energy and holding them hostage, to the most egregious; writing a non-disclosure agreement and stating that I had a chance to consult with an attorney then writing to me later that if I had only signed the agreement as written that this would have been complete. The problem with that is the agreement was written one-sided and it stated that I would release Green House Solar and Air, Inc. from all past, present, and future issues. It also stated that I was not permitted to disparage Green House on any medium but when I replied with my input that neither would be permitted to disparage the other party, he excluded that part in the next version in order to continue to delay resolving this and blaming me. Mr. Whipple’s pattern has been to ignore my emails, texts, and phone calls numerous times (often months) then replying with some sort of excuse (changing attorneys, waiting on a response from another party, traveling on vacation, or being sick on several occasions). I have all of the correspondence as proof that cannot be disputed. I urge you to beware that Mr. Whipple will tell you anything and everything up front to gain your business. He will take your money and not help you whatsoever when you are having a problem. He is dodging his obligation as a responsible business owner and only making it difficult for me hoping that I will just go away.

JUST DON’T CARE
No Customer Service and non-functioning system…. They were great at first, then once the contract was signed, then began the issues. First, you shouldn’t start the job to then send your workers onto another job, making a three day job into a month. Second, never make the customer feel as if they are bothering you when you’re simply trying to get the job completed. Third, Customer Service is key…. Calling with no response and having to call again and again, No. Finally, If you decide to go with Green House Solar, BE SURE YOU HAVE AN AGREEMENT IN PLACE THAT MAKES THEM LIABLE WHEN YOU ARE PAYING BOTH FPL FULL BILL AND YOUR LOAN ON THE SOLAR EQUIPMENT… I was a Builder, and though picky on some things, Your ROOF is the most Important. Just having flashing that is exposed for wind to tear off, posts for panels with NO Panel and Panels twisted that can crack under strain are important issues to be concerned about. So, you decide. Delays delays delays
We signed up with Greenhouse Solar in November 2021 for both solar and a generator. The project was initiated end of December and the actual solar panels were installed mid January. We were told that the order to connect would be completed with in the month. To date we have been paying for the installed Solar panels, the app tells us how much the panels are producing yet nothing is tied into the power grid. So we are paying full electric bills as well. Every time we call Greenhouse Solar a plethora of excuses are given, we are assured that they will get back to us with an update but never do. It’s now 7 months since the Solar panels have been installed and still nothing. No word on the generator installation, yet we keep paying the loan for the installed panels. Stay away from this company

Horrible Experience- Look Elsewhere for Solar
We began our journey with Greenhouse Solar in November 2021. Every step in this process has required me to call and demand that they actually do something. Now our payments have started towards the system that STILL DOES NOT WORK. A breaker was supposed to be added that 5 inspectors (two from the county and three from their company) have come out to inspect, only to tell us that the work still had not been completed. The last inspector even told us that he was "just a plumber" who was "helping them out" because they had "fired everyone else". After many more calls to the company, they agreed to pay the two payments that we have paid towards the loan, totaling $807.26, but only if we sign an NDA which would bar us from ever saying anything negative about the company, even though our system STILL DOES NOT WORK. Obviously I will not be signing that- why would I agree to help them commit fraud against other people by being silent? We are incredibly disappointed as previous reviews (from 2019) stated that this was a great company to work with, but clearly, as noted by the reviews listed since we signed up, things at this company have changed drastically. Currently looking into lawyers as this is costing us a lot of money and stress.

The light in the darkness
I would just like to say that Joshua Steward who came to my house and fixed my solar panels is definitely a light from Jesus Christ .He has fixed a year-long problem and made it look like it was nothing. Everything works he's an amazing person and I don't know what this company would do without him because he is what makes them look good. If you have problems with your solar panels Joshua Stewart is the person to contact because he is caring understanding and amazing this company won't know what to do with herself if they lose him.

Terrible!
Do not use these people! 8 months we have been trying to get this job finished. The install was a nightmare. They drilled holes in the wrong part of my roof and didn’t fill them! They started leaking and flooded my living room! This was 6 months ago and they are still “working” on getting someone out to repair the damage it caused. The system itself continues to fail inspection. Every time it fails they take a minimum of 6 weeks to get someone out to try and fix the issue. I wish zero stars were an option.

Let down and not getting any better.....
I called these guys to find out about solar power for my home and the sales guys were extremely helpful and friendly. Unfortunately, they're no longer with the company so no point in recommending them by name. I ended up getting a new AC unit and rooftop solar. First, I want to say that the installation crews for both items were beyond awesome!!!! Quick, knowledgeable, punctual and professional. Best overall installation crews I've ever dealt with for any level of service. These guys hustle and get the job done. I have nothing but excellent things to say for the installation teams!!! Now, the issue: two months after having everything installed, and heading into an energy crisis, they haven't submitted the paperwork yet to have the bi-directional meter installed; this is online so it should take two seconds. So, two months later, I still have a completely useless system on my roof. I called today to get my reference number so I can monitor the application process on TECO's website and they still don't have it. They said they needed the Serial Number from the Enphase box. That's on the Enphase monitoring website that they have access to. And THEY installed the damn thing; wouldn't that mean they should have all of that info on hand??? I don't know what to make of this company overall at this point but I will update this post daily with progress (of lack thereof). I have 3 people, including my sons, waiting to go solar and I'm not sure if I can recommend Green House Solar.

Great service, install was done quickly
The company came out to review our home for an energy evaluation. Our sales guy gave us tips to lower our power bill. After researching their company we decided they were the best company to use in our area. We're pleased with the entire process except for Duke energy, they took almost 40 days before swapping out the meter because we have a very large system on our home which qualified as a tier 2. Either way, we would recommend Green House to our friends and family.

Thank you so much, Bryan and Green House Solar for helping me get my Duke energy bill down! We've gone from over $400 a month in the summer to nearly no electric bill every month! This is hands down one of the best investments I've ever made. I wish I would have done it sooner.

David Rule gave our family the best experience we had a couple other solar companies come out and none of them where comparable what David and green house brought to the table was unmatchable ty David and greenhouse ! Rick
