Our sales rep, Steve, supported us through the entire process. He really deserves a full 5 stars but the rest of the process/project was average so I balanced the review at 4 stars total. In Smart Wave Solar's defense, I made the purchase at the beginning of Q4 2025 so I'm sure they were swamped with deals that needed to be completed before the end of the year as the tax benefits expired in 2025. The layout on our roof looks great and the company definitely takes pride in the aesthetics which I appreciate.

True to their word and work
From the beginning, Steve Michels was purely informative with not any pushing at all. No “last minute deals only today if you sign” kind of thing. I actually didn’t pull the trigger on this project for a few months and felt very comfortable making my decision and taking the time to ponder on the information I received. Max and his crew were awesome on the install! They were pleasant to work with and their work appears very well done! I’d recommend his crew any day.

Steve Michels was super helpful and easy to work with. The installer was done on one day. The customer service team kept us appraised of the next steps, and how inept out provider is. I only wish we would have done it sooner.

Honest company, great to work with
Working with Steve in Sales and Joriel as a PM on our solar install project was amazing. Steve was up front about having a no pressure presentation, which I appreciated, and he was well informed of tax incentives and product details. Joriel pretty much handled everything and kept me up to date on next steps and whether there were things I needed to do. Would work with again!

Smart Wave was the best option
I installed a relatively small system, 3.65kW, using Runergy panels, and Smart Wave had the cheapest price by far (I got quotes from 4 other companies), while still having the best warranty out there. The install went fast, and everything has been working perfectly.

Great Experience!
Great experience with Smart Wave. My project engineer, Shamey, was fantastic and a huge help along the way keeping everything on track. Steve Michels was also incredibly helpful during our initial consultation. Very pleased with the final result!

Nearly 6 months delay for Tesla Powerwall Install
I signed April 12, 2025 with Smart Wave Solar to install a Tesla Powerwall to my existing home solar system. Found out today, October 3, 2025, they are ready to install my system. Be careful of their contracts. You are committing to a 25% cancellation cost even if their process takes years before they install your system. Staff have been pleasant over the six months, but I feel no approval process for a simple add-on should take 6 months without a buyer’s right to cancel after a ridiculous delay period.

when they do a poor job they dont care
I can't say enough horrible things. Let's start with the most concerning error. Not adhering to national electric code, they neglected to put insulators on metal connectors. This prevents you from having a short in your system. Luckily the city inspector caught it.I was told if I went on their fast track program I would have the system installed within a month, and it would take one day to install a system of my size. Untrue. It took six visits. Five of which they needed inside access to the house. So I needed to be home. They tell you this the day before. I signed my contract and made my first payment on June 19th. I am writing this on September 23rd. As of right now things are still not up and running. Definitely more than one month.I have discussed the issues with customer service and my point person. Zero effort has been made to make this right. I'm still waiting on an estimate for battery install. The electrician told me about a new battery that was released the second quarter of this year. He was installing one the next day and told me the price. When I asked about it they said that was not correct. It's been about a month and I still don't have information on pricing.You will find similar reviews from the Broomfield Colorado area.
