GPE was a pleasure to work with. During the sales process, they were informative without being the least bit pushy. Then, once I'd made the decision to move forward with GPE, they kept me well informed, and responded promptly to any questions or issues I had, throughout the design and installation process; they consistently came when they said they'd come, and did exactly what they said they'd do; they were punctual, reliable and extremely professional (even my neighbors commented on the professionalism of the installation crew); and they were always respectful of my family (and dog) during the installation process. I'd recommend GPE to anyone looking to install a solar system - they were really great.

Excellent solar company

Their extremely helpful team guided me through the entire process and answered any questions I had along the way. They didn’t surprise me with anything as they were honest and transparent. They were not aggressive and they confidently let me take my time early on when deciding. They setup my solar panels and the connectivity to the grid. They did it as soon as they got permission from the town and my local electric company. They were friendly and very professional. Gold star choice!

I searched through several companies and very happy I went with GPE. They had the best price, value, and financing for what I wanted, Steve was great on Sales (got me a great deal), and they delivered on their promises. The main issue was how long it takes from start of process to finish (delays in getting materials or issues that need to be resolved as set up), but that's common for any job, including Solar. So, very happy I chose them and I'd choose them again. I'm happy with my mini power plant! Also, after sales support was great. Love Kevin.

We had an excellent experience with GPE from start to finish. Without exception, everyone involved in the project was knowledgeable, efficient, and skilled. Best of all, there were no glitchy handoffs as we moved through the process. Whether we were working with Austin on initial plans for capacity and panel placement or Patrick on payments or Julie on the details of materials delivery or Kevin on understanding our fully installed system, the communication was clear and they kept everything on track. GPE also has very good email updates about all the permitting that they handle on your behalf, and they make sure you have a long-term contact to continue answering your questions after the system is up and running. Bottom line: GPE made our transition to solar way, way easier than we ever expected. We're glad not to be wasting the sun that hits our roof anymore. And we love our electric bills now.

Well Run Company

Green Power is a solid and professional company. They seem to anticipate your concerns and questions and address them before you have to ask. They handle every step and explain how it will proceed, then follow through. Any remaining questions are responded to quickly and thoroughly. I looked into other companies, and many wanted a signed contract AND loan approval, complete with automated payment, before they even came out to see if the project was feasible. Green Power gets some information, then sends a rep out. The next step is a site evaluation, which is thorough. Our guy even used to be an installer, so could answer anything. Compare this to another company that had me take pictures so they wouldn't have to come out at all. I also researched the materials they use and they are top quality and durable. If you want peace of mind and a smooth process, go with this company.

Great Experience

I had a great experience with Green Power Energy! I did a lot of research about the pros and cons of adding solar panels and talked with several companies to get competing quotes. Green Power Energy was the best price and also had the friendliest staff. Eric was great and helped walk me through the process from answering my numerous questions, through helping find best layout to meet my energy needs. Beth Anne in the office was super responsive with all the paperwork and got things done in an amazingly short amount of time! The install was also super quick and easy thanks to Ben! He even came out a couple extra times to make sure everything's was reading properly and to ensure things were running as efficiently as possible. If you are looking for solar, look no further! You will have a great experience with Green Power Energy!

Very Pleasant Experience!

Green Power Energy was great to work with. I was very impressed by how they handled the whole process from sale to implementation, especially compared to a competitor I checked out that was very misleading and pushy. Green Power on the other hand was a much more pleasant experience. I took a long time to decide and had many questions. The salesperson, Austin Dow, was extremely patient and kind. He responded to all my inquiries (by text or email) very quickly and provided very thorough answers to my detailed questions ranging from the finances to the installation process. During the implementation, which can take a long time due to the utility and municipal inspections and approvals, I was provided with regular updates by email and text from the Green Power team and someone was always readily available to answer my inquiries or reach out to the local municipalities on my behalf. Austin checked in regularly too even though the sale was complete by then. Green Power’s technical representative who attended the inspections (Bruce) was also very nice and helpful. Finally, after it was up and running, Green Power had a customer support specialist, Kevin Nally, reach out to me to go over how it all worked (i.e., the tax credits, meter readings, inbound vs. outbound power to the grid, and more). Kevin was a wealth of knowledge and answered my remaining questions and provided me with a handy spreadsheet for tracking my consumption (to use for NJ SREC proceeds). Overall, Green Power made the process very easy from start to finish. Highly recommended!

Very good experience. Their price was competitive and we received updates along the way and followed through with their promises. The people who installed the panels were very professional and I even got a post installation meeting to go through all the benefits I will receive from the state.

There was no pressure only information and education. After exploring 3 other Solar providers I chose Green Power Energy because I felt I could trust them with my investment. The installation was done in one day by a team that clearly knew what they were doing. Green Power Energy handled all needed interactions and approvals with my electrical utility and town approvers. After going live I was contacted by my customer support representative who walked me through how to monitor the system and wanted me to know he was available any time for any assistance or question I might have. Going Solar is a big decision but Green Power Energy made me confident about going forward. And I am very happy I did.

I was referred to Green Power Energy by my best friend, and normally we don’t question each other when recommendations are given, and this experience is no different. Austin Dow reached out to me when I lost my mom and the timing wasn’t right so we kept the conversation short, I set a timeline that was far out (8 months), most sales reps would have either deleted the lead or have been too aggressive and called back before the timeline provided. When we did touch base the first thing he asked was about my family and again to apologize for my loss, that little extra was important to me and know I could trust him and a future relationship with Green Power. Austin took the time to explain the whole process, cost and timelines with me and he was patient with every answer. He walked us through everything and checked in during every step to see if we had any additional questions. When you make an investment, you want the company to treat you like family and not just a sales opportunity and that’s what you will get with Green Power. All expectations met with GPE

I first reached out to GPE in Q3 2022 to understand the billing and install phases, and from that initial Q&A was given a rendering of where and how the panels would be placed, how much energy would be generated, expected rebates in NJ, and multiple payment options. Every milestone date given by GPE was met ahead of schedule (including of course the install before EOY for the tax credit!) which are the good surprises that you want. They proactively notified me of every step and frankly made my to-do list as small as possible to the point where, outside of a few approvals, I did not have to get involved with registration or scheduling. Now we're a few months post-install, everything is working correctly and I'm a net exporter so far which is a great feeling. Out of the dozen choices for installers in north NJ I'm glad I went with GPE and will happily add to their growing 5 star ratings.

Great Company

We used Green Power Energy for our solar project. From beginning to end they did a great job. Price was fair, project was run professionally, installation crew worked long hours to get the project done. We are thrilled with the system so far and highly recommend them to others.

Highly Recommend

Green Power Energy installed a 12.4kW system with battery backup for us in October 2022. I waited for a bit to leave a review just to have some time with the system. Prior to signing with GPE, I had looked at solar on and off for 15 years. In 2022, we decided it was time and the search for 'the' company for our install began. GPE was not the least expensive, nor was it the most expensive, quote that I received. What pushed us towards GPE was their reviews, but also their way of doing business. To get information on exactly what we needed for our roof, they didn't need a deposit (that may change with time), they did not run a credit check, they only required permission to access my home and roof. When we committed to GPE, we didn't sign first and hope for the best, we knew exactly what they were promising to install. Their payment terms throughout the whole process were extremely fair to us and to them. Signing for solar, especially when a battery is involved, is much of a 'hurry up and wait' process. From signing to install date was about 6 months but was slowed down by things within CT's new programs that were out of GPE's control, as well as by changes we made to install the max number of panels. My salesman, Peter Dunne, was honest, open, responded within hours of any inquiry I made and over the course of our project, I asked a ton of questions. Taylor, who was my point of contact during the waiting period for plans, permits, approvals, kept us very well informed and again, responded promptly to any inquiry. When I had some questions and concerns on what was being installed once our engineering plans were received, Eric Dornfeld contacted me directly and explained why they were doing the install their way and how it would benefit me over what I was interested. He was right, I was wrong - he took the time to explain. Ben, my electrician, was fantastic - he took time to explain things he was doing and cleaned up every day before he left (battery installs take longer than a solar only install). Our town inspector, who also had done electrical work, was impressed by his work. Every crew that GPE sent to my home was respectful, kind, personable, efficient and cleaned up our property before they left like treating our home just as they would their own. We've had our solar for 5 months now. We have had 3 minor electrical outages which have ranged from minutes to many hours. Our system has run better than we could have expected; the switch from grid to battery backup in outages has been so seamless, we didn't realize it the first time. Green Power Energy was well worth our long wait in delving into the world of solar.

Highly Recommend

Green Power Energy was the company I chose to handle the Solar installation in my new home, and I could not have been more pleased with the experience. All of the staff were helpful, friendly and professional. Every interaction with the Sales, Installation, and Office personnel was pleasant and productive. They took the time to meet me at my home and go over the plans and requirements for my system as well as answer all of my questions and concerns about solar energy, the installation process, and financing. This was really the selling point for me in my decision. I truly appreciated the time they took to help me feel comfortable with the decision from both a capacity requirement and as a financial investment. After reviewing the proposal, all I needed to do was say "Go" and GPE handled all the rest. The whole process from start to finish was extremely easy to coordinate with the green power team. They worked diligently while on-site at my home, and kept me informed of the status while awaiting all the various permits, inspections, and application dependencies. My system has been live since December and I am beyond satisfied with the results. I look forward to having GPE support my system into the future. I cannot recommend GPE enough for anyone in the service area looking to install solar on their home.

All around great experience

It took me over a year to commit to a solar project and sign a contract with Green Power Energy. Over the course of that year, I had multiple conversation with their sales rep, AJ, who patiently answered my questions and was never pushy. I can't say the same for other companies I spoke with. Best example of their transparent, non-pushy approach to sales? I was considering adding batteries to my system but there were a number of complex variables to consider. The sales rep, answered to his best abilities but ultimately setup an appointment with their in-house battery pro. He explained in detail why batteries were NOT a good value for me. That honesty was much appreciated and saved me tens of thousands of dollars. When I finally did sign on the dotted line, the solid customer service continued. They were extremely transparent and easy to get in touch with throughout the entire process. It's truly turnkey service. They take care of everything from permits to filings with the utility. When all was said and done, there was a stubborn problem with the app incorrectly reporting usage and production. To their great credit, they had people come out to address the issue multiple times until it was resolved. Again, communication was excellent as they worked to resolve the issue (which they did resolve ultimately!). All told, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Green Power Energy.
