Out of the three bids for solar installation, we found A&R best aligned not only with our hopes for the project, but also with our values (employee-ownership, socially responsible). We found the drop-box of project photos and information after completion to be very helpful. We are also very happy with the installation now that we're live. We would absolutely recommend A&R.

I wanted to write a raving review of A-R Solar as my experience with them and their installation crew was top notch. From the very beginning, being a novice to Solar and the latest technologies, I had only done a few weeks worth of online researching. As with many homeowners, the information out there can be daunting and overwhelming at times. Upon our search for the “right” solar solution, as with many of us, we called around several companies to get the most information, best & affordable pricing, but at the end of the day, a partnership in the solar initiatives. Our phone call landed us with Ian Lucas, our design consultant. From the get-go, Ian was very knowledgeable & a non-pushy consultant. He answered our “dumb” questions round the clock without judgement. My wife and I felt that Ian was looking for our best interest at heart versus the other companies who didn’t even return our phone calls or just wanted a quick sale and move on. Ian gave us truthful information, and “this is what I would do in your situation” without the up sale of additional equipment that we didn’t need. We were sold with Ian. Next steps, the Project Manager : AJ Mullen. Again from the get-go, she came for a site visit, gave us a run down of the project and what to expect. Open and constant communication along the way. The PM makes it all happen with the coordination and resources. Lastly, the installation Crew consisting of Ari, Travis and Colton. These guys were very passionate about their work. As if they live and breathe it and you could easily see it in the expression and craftmanship. I joked with my wife, “these guys were eager beavers” to prep the site, install, and clean up every evening. Very detailed oriented and we all got along fantastically. (is that even a word  ). I can go on and on but you get the jist of my review and my future recommendation to all my neighbors and friends. From start to finish, and everything in between, you must be doing something right in hiring and finding such fine professionals in the Solar industry. A&R Solar installed our solar panels and 3 powerwalls. Clean and Fast install. It was done right at the beginning of the Covid-19 outbreak. They all wore masks and were extremely diligent about how they did things. Yes, they had to run very thick cabling from our electrical panel to the Powerwalls in the garage (yes you can stack them to save space). The conduit was installed the basement ceiling. The pathway required them to navigate water pipes, gas, computer cabling and electrical wiring while allowing us free access to downstairs area. Let me tell you - it was amazing and fast. My hat is off to a group of people who really know what they are doing. Later, when our inverter died, it was under warranty, they replaced it no charge. It was done in a week (they had to get the replacement part).

I want to give a great big thumbs up to A&R Solar. They just finished a solar installation for us and we couldn't be happier with their people and the job they did.

A&R Solar were amazing. A different company installed our panels years ago. There was an issue with the panels, and the other company refused to come out to fix a problem, even though the panels were still under warranty. A&R Solar took on the job and were terrific. They problem solved and were solution oriented. It took a while to diagnose and fix the problem, but I am so grateful that they kept at it. Mark Anderson showed me how to monitor the panels with an app, which was not available when we originally had the panels installed. Mark kept us updated and never forgot about us. I would highly recommend this company and can't say enough good things about them.

We were very pleased with A&R from start to finish on our solar installation. They responded to our initial contact quickly and we were very impressed with their professionalism and expertise. They went over a variety of different panel configurations with us and were patient with our questions and concerns. We never felt pressured to proceed with the project, but once we did they got us scheduled quickly and before we knew it we were generating electricity! The also had great follow-up with staff contacting us to see if we had questions and how things were going. It was really a great experience.

My experience with A&R was excellent. Everyone from A&R from the design consultant, administrator, project manager, and installation team were professional, courteous, thorough, and prompt in responding questions and providing information and estimates.

Extremely professional. Everyone answered my questions, patiently as I had a lot of technical questions. I got a high quality non-Chinese made system that will pay for itself in about 7-10 years with a 25 yr warranty.

Before choosing a photo voltaic installer for our solar panels and system, we researched 3 different companies: a local, regional, and a national business. We went into the analysis open minded, but figured the national company might have more resources to give to better service and probably had the cheapest price. A&R - our local option - was the second company we researched and quickly impressed us. Not only do they work with most all the best-in-class suppliers the other business do, but their service was unparalleled. I'm a business analysis for a large organization and an environmentalist at heart. I wanted to be sure that we were making not only a sound environmental choice, but also a smart, long term economical decision. We're had lots (and lots) of questions. And while all 3 companies mostly answered all of our questions, A&R's followup ensured that we were satisfied with their answers - and somehow filled in emotional gaps to address our bigger picture questions that were hard to articulate. The install team wasn't just a bunch of wrench turners. They were super smart and willing to answer very technical questions that came up later in the game. The ops/project management team worked together smoothly and kept us involved and informed at the level we wanted to be. But it's A&R's sales team that went above and beyond. Our sales rep - more like a customer success genius - connected with us immediately on so many levels. She knows solar - and got to know us in a way that allowed her to connect her depth of PV knowledge with our desire to make a smart decision and investment in solar. Although A&R was a little more expensive than the other options, they weren't much more. For our money, whenever we can invest in a local business, we're glad to do so. Our experience with A&R is one we're so glad to tell over and over.

We had a great experience with A and R and highly recommend them. They made the whole experience easy to engage with, encouraged questions, helped make the right decision and the crew they sent to our house was amazing. And, they all seemed to like working for the company. Through the process, everyone seemed to feel like they were representing a shared approach- be friendly and do good work. For those of you that don't like to read a lot, here is the short version... You should look no further than A&R Solar for your solar needs. This is a fantastic organization with fabulous staff. Okay, here's more, if you are so inclined to read... Adding solar power is no small investment. Therefore, you should want to have the best information available when considering solar power. Solar is clearly a great way to go, both in terms of being friendly to the environment, and the savings that you can see in your energy costs in the future. Because the decision is so important, you will want the most knowledgeable and most professional people to provide you with every bit of accurate information so that you can make the most informed decision. The entire staff at A&R Solar are exactly what I've described above. They are professional, courteous, knowledgeable, and patient. I love how great they are about always getting back to me when I have another question. I have had direct communication with Jesse, Michael, Jen, and Karen. All were fantastic. I'm certain that these four are simply an example of how great the rest of their staff are. I wholeheartedly recommend A&R Solar. I would look no further than this fine organization for my solar questions and needs.

Every step of the project was done well. They came recommended to me and they lived up to those recommendations.

We were definitely newbies to solar installations but did a lot of research before deciding to have A-R Solar install panel systems on our home and a rental we own. They made the process very clear, taking the time to go through all the details, including how the rebates and deductions work, the systems that were appropriate for each house etc. The installation crew were great - professional, hardworking and cleaned up. We've had a couple of issues with the systems, one minor and the other more involved. In both cases A-R technicians were prompt in resolving them, within warranty, great communication. With the subsidies for solar and the ample amount of sun on the eastside of the mountains we expect to have the systems paid for in 7 years. Have since purchased a EV Leaf, which we can now say is powered by the sun.

A&R Solar is a great company to work with, George, Nathan, Sam and the crew were very knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. Best to them as they continue to provide excellent service.

Out of 6 RFPs we only got 3 answers. A&R were the most personable and flexible to adjust to our schedule during the initial phase. Their sales/planning staff had the proposal ready in short time. Installation was painless - and we appreciated that our house was always left very clean in the evenings. Nothing but good experience - would certainly go through them again in the future!

We recently had A&R install SunPower PV panels on our home. We chose A&R after getting bids from six firms in our area. The price was competitive and the service was great. Everyone with whom we interacted was friendly, and knowledgeable. They were easy to work with, clear, time efficient and courteous.

It's great to work with a company whose employees are passionate about their work, are knowledgeable in their areas, communicated clearly and timely, executed a seamless process, including informing and setting expectations about lenders and inspectors. BIG shout out to the electrician and installers for coming out during the Feb snowstorm to complete the install! Wow!

I had A&R install an 11.88kW system which was comprised of 33, Itek 360w panels. This was installed in three sections of my roof in late Dec 2018. Turner was the sales rep and Nathan was the project manager. I had an excellent, as-promised turnkey experience with the A&R team. They are top-notch, experts with a huge focus on customer experience and satisfaction. We had weather and the Christmas holiday unfortunately interfere to make my planned 2-day installation into a 7-day affair (high winds on day 2 and a team member calling in sick caused us to wait till after Christmas to get done). Slightly frustrating but they kept me informed and offered up a manager as a resource to check in with. The system isn't on yet (comeon PSE, hurry up with the production meter install) but I look forward to making the most of the sunny days ahead of us. Go solar! Dylan

I agree with one of the other reviewers if I could give them 10 stars I would. From the initial visit by Damien through to the final inspection and turning on the system A&R has been great to work with. Very knowledgeable staff who were willing to go above and beyond to get our system installed in time to receive a state incentive. We feel very fortunate to have found them. Damien was great to work with in the beginning as we had many questions and requested a few different quotes to see how those options would work out for our finances and future home plans. He was responsive to everything we threw his way and responded quickly. Once we knew that our install date would put us well within a new incentive deadline we signed the contract. That put our file in motion and everything else was seamless, including working with the bank. The production guarantee really is what helped us make our final decision. Companies can tell you anything they want about what your panels and home positioning can produce. A&R guarantees that production. This means that their quote is something that you can actually rely on and factor into your overall financial plan. We had two other contractors come out to the house and give us quotes and both of the other companies didn't even walk around and evaluate our roof or space. They offered no guarantee for the quoted power they were giving us at almost double the cost. Another really great thing about A&R and this project was that we added an additional electrical request to our bid to get our shop power increased. They added it on at a great price and the work was included in our project scope and completed at the same time as the overall project with all inspections up to standards. One additional note about the bank we used, PSCCU, they only work with a handful of contractors in the state when it comes to solar projects. They have certain requirements in place to protect homeowners. A&R is one of their recommended contractors.

The A&R Solar team did an amazing job from sales (no pressure) to product installation. They installed the system and provided high quality and were detail oriented. We are very pleased with the system and doing our part to decrease our carbon footprint.

From the first phone call to the final installation everyone was great to answer my questions and concerns. Definitely recommend A&R Solar.

I would have rated A and R with six stars had it been possible. Excellent technical advice, great installation and follow-up. My barn, where the panels are located, was too far from the house for the standard router connection to work so additional material and labor was required for the monitoring portion to function. A and R installed and configured the Cat-5 cable at no extra charge and never mentioned the extras. Professional, dedicated, customer care company with no doubt.

These guys were great. The price was great, the tech was great. They arrived on time as scheduled. They explained everything to me, and my system was up and running in 3 days. Could not recommend them high enough.

A&R Solar is everything we wanted from a solar company. Of all of the quotes we received, they were the best price and the most responsive. Every employeee that we interacted with was friendly and more than willing to answer all of our questions. The whole process was smooth and easy, from the no pressure consultation to the final walkthrough for our completed system. We had our system installed on our detached garage and I love admiring it every day. Extra reasons why we love A&R: - They outline all of your solar equipment choices so you can decide what works best for your needs and budget. - They handle the applications for net-metering with your local utility and the state incentive program with WSU. - They have a ten year production guarantee, workmanship warranty, and labor coverage. And most of the equipment has a 25 year warranty, too! Be sure to get on their calendar early, as the state incentive drops every year at the end of June. We contacted four companies and got bids from three. A&R’s bid presentation was by far the most complete, data-driven, and personable of them all. We had no problem deciding they were the company we wanted to do our installation. Their bid was also very competitive. They continued to impress through the design and paperwork part of the project. They had the right mix of personal connection and digital connection to get plans to us and have paperwork signed electronically. When installation time came their crew was prompt and personable. We’re on our second month of production and continue to be very happy with our decision to choose A&R.

This by far is the best Solar Company out there. I've had mine completed in up and running for about 2 weeks. This company has been outstanding from beginning to end. People in the office that I talk to you are so knowledgeable I can't believe how much I've learned just by my initial phone call to him. I knew this was the company for me. I've looked into a few other ones before this and this by far is the best. If you are even considering a little bit solar panels being installed contact other companies if you wish to but I think he will be totally pleased and satisfied with A&R solar. So be sure to check them out. After you call them ask to speak to Turner if he's available. I was so completely comfortable talking with him. And so will you. Make sure to tell him Mike sent you. He has been nothing but an outstanding resource for me. They were able to start early and finished so installation way before schedule completion.

From start to finish, my experience with A&R Solar has been excellent. Mark Farrell was extremely responsive to my needs for a quick turn around on initial consultation for solar for our new (old) home. His industry knowledge and expertise helped me understand our options, rule out some technologies that just didn't fit our installation, and have the confidence I needed to move forward with this significantt purchase. A & R Solar installed our new solar panels, and we are totally satisfied with their work! From the beginning, each person at A & R Solar was informative, professional, and friendly. They explained since we have a simple roof and no shade we would be equally served by the string inverter instead of the more expensive inverter with power optimizers. Their team was organized, each person having a different role, from the designer, to the project manager, to the installers. A & R was very conscientious about keeping in touch with us about what was happening and when the install team would be arriving each day. Their electrician, Sondra, was very personable, and I felt comfortable having her in my home office when she was working on the Egauge monitoring system. They were prompt, and finished the job when promised. All the permits were handled smoothly, and the city inspector confirmed the craftsmanship was excellent. We are so happy with the solar panels and the electricity they are generating! Even though we have only had them a month, in this cold month of February, they have generated 1/3 of our electrical usage. Imagine when the weather is warmer and sunnier!

I got quotes from 6 different installers, all were friendly and helpful but A&R went above and beyond. We were initially hoping to save money by getting solar now and updating our roof later since it had a few more years in it. All the other installers said that made sense and downplayed the extra future cost of re-roofing. A&R insisted that it was a bad deal and we should either reroof early or wait on getting solar. I told them flat-out that because we were hesitant to reroof but didn't want to wait, we would almost certainly not go with them. But they kept answering questions, encouraged us to double-check about costs with roofing companies, and after a lot of investigation, I concluded they were right all along. The cost of a 50-year roof in our case (solar is on our garage) was not that crazy, and the roofer confirmed that they would want the entire solar system taken down or have to charge a bunch extra to reroof around the mounting stuff on top of the extra $100 per panel or more that the solar companies would charge to take the panels off and put them back. In the end, it would not be worth the few extra years of the old roof. We did the reroofing in advance, and A&R worked with us all the way, answering every question, picking the most appropriate equipment (and explaining to us about the decisions), and their price at the end of the day was actually the best value, the most production at the best price compared to all the other installers we considered.

The end-to-end process of working with A&R Solar was a breeze. It started with Damien, who is a knowledgeable, no-pressure consultant who provided the information we needed and then let us make our decision on our own time. A&R was upfront about the install dates, and after signing the papers we were kept in the loop the entire way, so there were no surprises. Questions over e-mail were answered promptly, and everybody we worked with was, without exception, friendly, helpful, and interested in our satisfaction. When there was a brief delay on our install date, we were promptly informed and did not feel let down. After the panels were installed, our project manager, who had been in an accident, did not get our paperwork to SnoPud submitted immediately, and he was upfront about it, apologized, and credited our account with the credits we had missed with the utility. Awesome customer service!

We have been impressed with A&R's professionalism throughout the entire process - from the free estimate and design, through install and configuration. A&R is very up-to-date with Solar incentives, and suggested a modification to our original plan due to a new bill that passed a month before our install date. We ended up with a better system and saved money too! Our project was complete in 3 days, and after the inspection and meter install we were online instantly. The combination of Itek Panels and SolarEdge Inverter has been working flawlessly. We're recommending A&R to all of our friends, and now is a great time to get solar in Washington State! The 2017 Solar Bill that just passed will provide benefits for the next 8 years, greatly reducing the cost of the system.

We can't tell you how blessed we were to select A&R Solar for your solar project. This is an extremely well run company. Their competence and experience is to the advantage of the customer. The project ran flawlessly and caused no inconvenience. They showed up as planned, no delays and took great care of our personal property while on the job. A&R Solar did an amazing job installing my solar panels! They were prompt and complete in the entire process. They took care of all the necessary permits and installations. A great experience!

From start to finish, my experience with A&R Solar was a very positive one. The sales person, Damien, was clear and concise, and was able to answer all my questions. He left me with a good understanding of all the costs, the cost recovery time, the tax benefits, and the incentive program. The installers were polite, and kept well in touch ahead of installation to let me know what they would need and when, and they worked quickly and cheerfully to get my installation complete. After installation, A&R was there to show me how to use the computer program to track my production, and has been very prompt at answering the few questions that have arisen for me subsequent to the installation. I would recommend this company to anyone in the Northwest who is considering installing solar power.

It's been a pleasure working with A&R from the very beginning. A&R was one of 5 companies I got a quote from. Working with Tim during the initial RFQ process, I felt no pressure at all. Tim worked very hard to help me get the energy output while staying within my budget. I think this is also where A&R will shine over their competitors since they are a larger company, they are able to offer more options at a lower price. During the install process, all of the installers were very professional, and they happily answered all of the questions I had for both system related and none system related. The install did take an extra day due to the inverter I wanted wasn't the standard one they normally install so it was a learning process for all, but everything was setup without any issues, and the system has been running beautifully. I would and have been recommending A&R to anyone who is interested in adding solar to their home.

We worked with A&R Solar to add a 16.8kW iTek system to my roof, and had a great experience. In their proposal, they guaranteed that the system would cover at least 57% of our home energy usage, but the A&R electrician who installed the panels and showed us how to use the eGauge monitoring system estimated it would probably be over 100%. According to our initial readings from eGauge after the system started up around 12:30 PM today, our energy needs are more than covered by the solar panel output. The eGauge system also allows us to track exactly how much energy is being used by the various circuits throughout the house. Some of the other fun solar incentives: a Federal Income Tax Credit which will refund 30% of the full system price, the MACRS business depreciation tax rebate, and the annual incentives up to $5k per year which will be paid to us by PSE for all of the energy the system produces, including the energy we use. Nice. If you own property in the PNW and are interested in solar, I can't recommend A&R Solar enough. And if you use my name (Chelsea Rustad) as a referral, you get $500 off the cost of the system. Surprisingly enough, solar does work in WA -- very well. I had a fantastic experience with A&R Solar throughout the process and am happy to endorse!

TJ Merrill at A&R was helpful, pro-active and flexible during the whole planning of our PV system! Customizing the design increased the rooftop output while reducing the cost! Dan and Matt did a great job up on the roof and Joel did a fantastic job, both workmanship wise as well as coming up with a creative solution to our "challenging" set of requirements in Clallam County. I'm recommending A&R to all the people I've shown the system to!

All of the A&R Solar people were great to work with. They went to great lengths to make sure our system would would work perfectly for us. When we had questions they were right back with answers. We love going out to watch the power meter spin backwards.
