The Best of the Best!!
OC Solar in Irvine, California - The BEST customer service in the industry with the BEST price!!! The level of customer service, quick responses, and attention to the details really made this entire process smooth and stress-free for me and my wife! I was considering going solar since late last year in 2024 and finally took the courage to starting calling for quotes and information earlier this year in January 2025. I contacted five (5) solar companies in total comparing prices, customer services, response time, etc. and in mid-February 2025, I finally settled with the best which is OC Solar and have no regrets at all!! Since my first initial contact with OC Solar’s Sales Consultant, Mr. Sean Shively, to the final phase (completion), this process has been an extremely smooth and positive experience. From the point of me signing the contract agreement and making the initial deposit to the final payment (on June 4, 2025), the OC Solar team have been over-the-top wonderful and helpful! Sean has been and still continues to be extremely informative, patience, supportive, and professional! On many occasions, I have asked Sean silly questions and/or concerns relating to my solar system (26 panels with 10.92KW) and Tesla Powerwall-3 (2x) batteries where he would answer all my questions and concerns and encourage me to continue to ask more questions…showing his professionalism! Overall, the best things about Sean is his honesty and response time to my hundreds of questions, usually within minutes of me emailing him the questions, updates, and concerns…even on weeknights and weekends, AMAZING! With the constant communications and follow-ups, this put me as ease as I know I have someone on my side and corner as friend instead of a Sale Consultant just trying to close a transaction. I was so happy with Sean and the OC Solar team that I quickly referred my best friend who was also getting a solar system (same time with me) with another company to contact Sean for a quote. After my best friend spoke with Sean and got a quote, he quickly switched over to Sean and OC Solar and did not regret it at all. His system (25 panels) with one (1) Powerwall-3 was installed, completed, and made the final payment as of June 3, 2025. The best part was OC Solar also assigned a personal consultant, Ms. Gaby Ostos, who was and is still on standby to further assist me with other matters and questions. Gaby would conduct weekly follow-ups and check-ins to see if everything was going smoothly and if I have any questions. Overall, I’m extremely happy with the solar system and customer service that I got from Sean Shively, Gabby Ostos, and the OC Solar team. I know I got the best deal and product possible in this current market after contacting four (4) other companies and selecting OC Solar at the end…thank goodness! I HIGHLY recommend anyone to contact Sean Shively with OC Solar for a quote and you will not be disappointed!!

I can't recommend them enough!
OC Solar just completed installing an entirely new solar system for us, replacing our old, likely one of the first residential systems ever installed. We couldn't be happier with the whole process! After reaching out to many companies about our old broken system, OC Solar was the only one that truly stood out. While others charged fees just to tell us they couldn't help, OC Solar not only attempted to fix it but also took the time to explain how the old system worked (or didn't work) and what the issues were. I simply can't recommend them enough! The communication throughout this complicated process was fantastic. Every team member involved, from design and financing to permitting, removing the old system, installation, and explaining how the app works, was incredibly helpful and kind. Special thanks to Alfredo, our foreman; Christian, the inspection tech; Courtney, the project manager; Melissa (Mel), the construction manager; and Savannah, who helped us pass the inspection. Everyone was great to work with, including all the other techs. They even held a live Zoom meeting to walk us through the awesome app. Unlike experiences I've heard from people who used other solar companies, I'm thrilled that I found OC Solar. I can't recommend them enough!

Great experience with OC Solar
I’ve been considering adding solar to our home for a couple of years. Having heard positive reports on Orange County Solar, I contacted Walter Armendariz in Sales. Walter explained available options and walked me through the contracting process. The contract was finalized after an onsite inspection verified solar panel and inverter placement. Austin Fietsam, OC Solar Customer Service, coordinated with design team activities, and Courtney Ford, OC Solar Senior Project Manager, oversaw pre-installation activities, including coordination with the City of Torrance. Installation was performed by OC Solar’s installer, Panasonic Solar; they arranged final signoff by the City of Torrance, and coordinated with Southern California Edison to secure permission to operate. From concept to permission to operate took only six weeks which, I am told, is well below the norm. All activities were conducted in exemplary fashion, and we are now relying mostly on self-generated electricity. Thank you, OC Solar!

Horrible install experience and customer service
Talked a good game and everything started fine - but took them several attempts to get city permit signoff, as they kept missing things and not doing install properly. Then they messed up wiring to my house thermostat (the did it originally at start of install and now again after they "finished" install) and now won't address - one week after install and the second time they did this during the process. Also note you can't get through to customer service and get anyone live-hard even to find an email address for them. Doesn't matter though, as they don't respond to voicemails or emails at all it appears. Been over a week with both a VM and emails and NO ONE EVER has contacted me back. Very concerned about what will/won't happen when warranty issues come up. Don't believe any positive reviews or their slick website. Avoid OC solar.

Happy with my solar
I have reviewed many companies before going with OC solar. The process went smoothly and I was kept informed all along the way. Now I enjoy $11 electric bills which are taxes that I still have to pay and I’m looking forward to my several hundred dollar credit at the end of the year from a SCE.

OC Solar Got the Job Done Well
We used EnergySage to find them, but the reality is that we watched them do an installation down the street on our neighbor's house, and it looked really good. They were quick and clean, so we felt confident going with them. Things took a little longer than expected-- they were very busy-- so we missed the 2020 tax credits, but the system was installed and activated in a reasonable amount of time, and it's now earning us credits on our electric bill. Overall, I'm currently very pleased with Orange County Solar.

Great Company
