Great team to work with. They did our home in Utah several years ago and just finished adding solar to a Shop/Office in Wyoming. Price was great and installation team delivered on schedule.

Poor Communication.

I have been less than satisfied with the service provided by Intermountain Wind and Solar. The lack of communication throughout the permitting, installation, and inspection process was very frustrating. Had I not been diligent about calling regularly, I believe this project could have been delayed by another three months. It was not that I expected weekly calls, but when milestones should have been met, there were no calls or emails to explain what was happening. For example, it took 20 days from the time my engineering design was completed by IMWS for it to be submitted to the city/county. On September 3, I was told the project package was ready for permitting and that the municipality typically takes about a week to approve and issue permits. However, IMWS did not submit for permits until September 20, a delay of 17 calendar days, or about 2.5 business weeks. Delays continued at nearly every stage of the project. The system was installed on November 19. It then took another two weeks before the Tesla battery was provisioned. Four weeks later, the critter guards were finally trimmed to satisfy the city inspection requirements. After that, there was no contact until April. I just received my ownership documents on April 1, 2026, five months after the project started and about 3.5 months after installation. There were also many instances where I called and emailed without receiving a response. I was never clearly told which email addresses to use to contact support or my project manager. The customer service was extremely poor. When I expressed my frustration about the lack of communication, they implied it was my fault for not emailing the correct addresses, even though the employee I had been contacting had left the company two months earlier. There was no way for me to know that. Project timeline: August 23 – Project signed and initiated September 3 – IMWS engineering package completed and ready for permit submission September 20 – Submitted for permits after a 17-day delay October 6 – Permits approved October 20 – Rocky Mountain Power net meter approved October 22 – Installation scheduled November 19 – Installation completed; inspection still needed and critter guards needed trimming November 29 – 10-day delay; installers failed to install a required placard. IMWS mailed one to me, and I had to install it myself and send photos December 2 – 13-day delay after installation; project sent to power company for inspection December 8 – I called because I had not received a response about the placard, and they had no record of my email December 11 – I emailed because the critter guards still had not been trimmed December 15 – Project marked complete and all punch-list items finished Overall, the biggest issue was not just the delays, but the lack of proactive communication and the poor customer service throughout the process.

Good results with the installation

The crews were experienced and got the job done in a timely manner. They cleaned up after the install and left the grounds as they were before. I would recommend this company to anyone wanting a solar system.

Post-Installation Service Stinks

I went with Intermountain because they pitched me on having the best service after installation. In fact, they told many stories about customers of other installers being ghosted by their installers while Intermountain has been around for a long time. I went with Intermountain even though they were a bit more expensive than other quotes because I wanted that peace of mind. Well, less than two years after installation, my Tesla inverter has failed under warranty and Intermountain has ghosted me. They took days to respond by email, weeks to come look at the problem, and now it has been two months with no solution. They are even slower to respond than ever.

Solar Panel / Battery Install

I had 16 Solar Panels installed on my roof, and Tesla Back-up Battery installed in my garage. Working with my Project Manager, Kevin Blackburn, and his Install crew was a real pleasure. They kept me fully informed throughout the whole installation process. I would Highly recommend Intermountain Wind & Solar for any of your Solar Power needs.

WestyDan | Sandy, UT | 07/05/2025

Very accommodating and professional

I expanded an existing solar installation on my roof. Cade and his team worked with me to engineer the most effective utilization of the new higher power bifacial panels blended with my existing system for maximum effect. The installation also included upgrading my house from 100 Amp to 200 Amp feed and adding extra circuits for EV charging. They did a great job and handled everthing. They were a pleasure to work with and much more accommodating of everything I asked than the other company I had bid the job.

Fortress Battery Solar Upgrade

Working with Justin Dygert to propose an upgrade that leverages Wattsmsrt VPP program to our existing 12-year-old grid-tied system has been rewarding. Justin takes time to listen and propose effective solutions.

Great Solar Company

We have hired Intermountain Wind & Solar to do projects at our home four times. Each time they have been responsive and have kept us informed throughout the process. John with the Sales team is great and gets you all the information you need to make an important decision. The products they use are quality and have great warranties. The installation team does their job well and the finished product is clean. No wires or conduits exposed on my roof. They go through the attic. The service team monitors your system and are prompt if anything is needed. I have had nothing but great service from each division in this company. I would highly recommend them for any solar project needs.

New Cabin Solar in Kamas

We recently had a 4.6 KW system installed in our cabin. IWS was great to get it designed, permitted and installed before the end of the year so we could do the tax credit for 2024! John Wilson (sales), Kevin Blackburn and Jennifer Stapely (project mgmt team), and the install crew were all amazing. They took care of all the paperwork, red tape, everything. RMP took their sweet time to verify and install the net meter, but all is great now. Sunny days are a welcome sight as we reap the benefits of solar power. Definitely recommend IWS and will likely be adding batteries in the future.

Think twice before paying

After a disastrous attempt to get solar from another company a few years ago, and swearing off even trying again, Intermountain Wind and Solar showed up and seemed to have it together enough that I was willing to try again. And oh, how I wanted it to work smoothly. Things were great in the beginning, and moved smoothly. There was good communication. Installation was quite delayed (supply chain issues, I get it), and the install went pretty well. But once we paid up, we were all but ghosted. The inspection we delayed because the installers did not patch drywall, so we had to find someone to do that and submit reimbursement. Then the inspection was not rescheduled for weeks. There were no instructions on how to turn it on. Emails were not answered. Voice mails were not responded to. After inspection, we did our best to turn it on, assuming it was set up correctly. Then the lights kept flickering constantly. The batteries would not discharge. The constant changes in power fried our $10K AC unit. We reported that and it finally got Intermountain's attention. Some tech guy over the phone said that it was all set up right and nothing was wrong, but immediately after the call, settings were different and the flickering stopped. Apparently they did not want to take responsibility for the $10K AC unit going bad. Well, now 7 months after all that, we finally get the owners manual by email and other documents that were promised. In the end, our lights are on, the power is flowing in and out correctly, but one battery still does not ever discharge and just sits at 100%, even when we're pulling from the grid. In summary, go ahead and use Intermountain, since it went well up to install, but don't pay a cent until you're 100% certain everything is working fine.

Good solar company

Quality job. Easy company to communicate with. Glad I went with them.

LVO | Nampa, ID | 01/06/2025

terrible costumer service

We were extremely disappointed by the lack of professionalism. Our project faced delays, which is normal and a understandable, but the total ghosting is unacceptable--specially after we had given them 50% of the payment upfront (which is not little money!). I will not do any more business with them.

Cabin Solar Array | Moab, UT | 01/02/2025

Great Job again

We have used IMWS twice now to place a residential solar system and both times they have bent over backwards to deliver a great product. If I needed them again I would use them a third time.

B | Salt Lake City, UT | 12/10/2024

Great service

I recently had solar installed on my house by Intermountain Wind & Solar, and the experience was excellent. I worked with Justin Dygert, who was professional, responsive, and very knowledgeable. Out of all the companies I looked into, their quote was the most affordable, but the quality of service and attention to detail exceeded my expectations. The entire process was smooth, and I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. If you’re considering solar, I highly recommend Intermountain Wind & Solar, and working with Justin in particular.

N. Palmer | Providence, UT | 11/29/2024

IWS was awesome to keep us informed all along the way. They took care of all of the analysis, permitting, scheduling, installation, and support eliminating our worries. Thanks!

Ryan Braat | Ogden, UT | 10/25/2024

Outstanding Service and Professional Team

Justin Dygert and the whole IWS team performed an above and beyond Install of our solar system. The whole process from permitting, scheduling, and install was all very hands off, stress free and smooth. Justin reached out every week to make sure we didn't have any concerns or questions and genuinely cared for our needs and wants. If I could give 6 stars I would.

Carl | Tooele, UT | 10/08/2024

Justin Dygert at Intermountain Wind and Solar was the perfect example of what a sales person should be. He knows the products he is selling and he is passionate about the work he does. I had tons of questions. His presentation and knowledge base were impressive and he was able to answer all of my questions. He even answered questions that I didn’t even know that I had! Justin was great at giving me the information and allowing me to make the decisions, rather than pushing me do to something I was uncomfortable with. We have two electric vehicles and so we draw a ton of electricity from the grid. Additionally, budgets are tight as we recently purchased a new home. Justin was diligent and worked hard to design a system for us that effectively balanced budget, electricity needs, and personal preferences. I truly feel like Justin was invested in us and helping us make the best decision. He was quick to follow up and made sure to follow through. There were many factors when making the decision to get solar. I requested time to “sleep” on things before making a final decision. Justin made sure to follow up with me, but wasn’t overbearing. It was the perfect balance. I received a few different quotes from different solar companies and IWS blew everyone out of the water! They clearly have a solid business model as they’ve been in business since 2008 and many solar companies have come and gone in that time. The install team was respectful and great to work with. I ask lots of questions and the foreman was wonderful in answering them. The finished product looks great too. There’s a lot of retrofitting that has to occur with rooftop solar and they did great at making it look as good as possible. Thank you! I highly recommend Justin Dygert and Intermountain Wind and Solar to anyone!

Christian H. | South Jordan, UT | 10/05/2024

We purchased a solar battery from IWS. The install process was a bit bumpy, but our sales rep (Justin Dygert) was always available to get things back on track. Overall, we are happy with our new solar battery.

Repair of 9 year old system

Great folks - great experience- efficient work

Chad Kleinlein | Rock Springs, WY | 10/03/2024

Outstanding company!

After 4 years of research and speaking with many solar providers, I chose Intermountain Wind and Solar. Everyone there has been great to work with and I recomend them to everyone who is looking to add solar to their home or business. The quality of work from planning to installation is amazing. The system they designed works and looks flawless. The installers were very professional, answered all of my questions, and graciously put up with me while I picked through every aspect of the process. Thanks to John and Chris and the rest of their team!!!

Brian | Saratoga Springs, UT | 10/01/2024

Intermountain Wind and Solar installed solar on my home 7 years ago. It's exceeded my expectations so far. I recently had them install bird barrier with all the pigeons this year! The installers did an incredible job. Many solar companies go out of business so nice to have a company you can count on to be around when you need them.

Envy | Salt Lake City, UT | 10/01/2024

Battery Installation

Overall a good experience, it’s a bit more involved than I was expecting but we got it done and battery appears to be working great.

VJ | Tooele, UT | 09/24/2024

Very Patient

I've been interested in solar for about 8 years and I finally pulled the triger. IWS was one of the first companies I originally worked with. After all this time they are still in business and one of the leaders in the industry. Justin Dygert has been very patient and NEVER pushy. He answers all my emails and txt within minutes of me sending.

Ken | Ivins, UT | 09/18/2024

Repeat Customer

I have owned two homes and IWS has installed my solar and battery back up systems in both. The systems have performed flawlessly. The first was a ground array and the second a roof array. I have referred multiple friends to them as well.

Larry Shannon | Roy, UT | 09/18/2024

Professional Company

I very much enjoyed working with the people at IWS. They were very helpful and patient with my questions and when making decisions. They did their work quickly and efficiently and ironed out any problems that arose. They were very responsive to my concerns. In general, they gave me confidence they would do what I expected of them. They're a very professional organization. Thank you. Larry

Steve Meier | Downey, ID | 09/17/2024

Good equipment

I was pleased with the equipment. There were some concerns with the number of times it was needed to return to install necessary parts to make the equipment work.

Ron | Salem, UT | 09/14/2024

Added 10kw system to existing 10kw system

Install, followup, and completing the finish details like sheet rock repairs were completed in a professional manner and timely. After the system was turned on I requested that the Tesla inverter be move due to how loud it was. Two weeks later it was done. They listened and made it better.

Josh Johnson | Hooper, UT | 09/12/2024

100% satisfied

Had 20 panels and a battery installed. They did a phenomenal job. Justin Dygert and Rikely Chambers took super great care of me from on the sales side. 100% satisfied

Matt G | North Salt Lake, UT | 09/12/2024

I’ve had solar since 2019 and have talked to several companies looking to add additional panels and a battery. I kept meeting with unknowledgeable sales reps that couldn’t answer my questions and gave me astronomically high quotes. Finally, in early 2024, I met Justin Dygert at IWS and had a much better experience. He was knowledgeable and transparent. He was able to answer most of my questions, and the ones he couldn’t answer, he researched and came back with an answer. When it came time for the price quote, I was pleasantly surprised with how reasonable the addition would cost. The installers did a great job. It looks very clean and professional. They were very professional and efficient. After the install, I received several calls and emails ensuring that I was happy with the my system. Highly recommend. Will do business with them again.

james marsh | Tetonia, ID | 09/11/2024

Dishonest sales process

I was misled about financing and accruing of interest. As soon as you sign, they will never, ever reply to you. Radio silent from both Intermountain and Human Credit. Don't trust their word.

Mary Brown | Ogden, UT | 09/10/2024

After having solar for a few months, I can say that it’s been worth it. Over the course of 3 years we looked into a lot of different companies and talked to a lot of different salespeople. We loved working with John Wilson at Intermountain Wind and Solar. It was important to us to have someone who would respond when we had questions or concerns and he was quick to answer and get back to us. We also wanted a good deal and compared to the other companies we looked at, this was the best deal. I can’t remember everyones name, but the team of installers were good to work with and reliable. Overall, our experience has been great!

Onalee | Ogden, UT | 06/03/2024

Two Installs

We had two Solar Installations done my Intermountain Wind. From the sales to the installation, it was great. We looked at a few other companies both times and decided on them as they seemed to be the superior company for a better price both times.

Justin Dygert | West Point, UT | 05/13/2024

Streamlined install, clean work, great price

We worked with IWS throughout our home building process for our new home and they worked with us to get things prewired and installed in a way that eliminates most of the visible electrical work and keeps things clean and neat. Install is clean, price was fair. I now work for the company that did such a great job!

Jane Doe | Bellevue, ID | 09/22/2022

Don’t be fooled

Don’t be fooled by Intermountain Wind and Solar. They have good salesman but when it comes to installation and actually working with the company, they are the worst. We ha e to beg for an install date and then had to call and remind them we were there every step of the way. Please do yourself a favor and go with another company.

Randall | Draper, UT | 04/08/2021

Professional, thorough and transparent company

I evaluated dozens of solar companies online, and narrowed it down to three for proposals. IWS was the most thorough and transparent of the companies I worked with. They reviewed the property, electrical, and sent pics to engineering before providing a quote which gave me confidence that the quote would be accurate. The install team was friendly and professional and did an excellent job on cleanup. I had my roofer inspect the mounts and he was impressed to the point he recommended them to another one of his customers. The calculations provided in the quoting process appear to be spot on. My installation has been running for about 2 months now.

EdwardM | 08/03/2020

Our solar PV from IWS has been excellent

Decided in about Sep of 2019 to finally order a solar PV intertied system. Incredibly, they were able to complete the proposal, design and engineering work, permits and install before the end of the year, all in about 3 months time. If you've ever done re-modeling work with permits, you can appreciate that this is a very timely install! This involves multiple parties, city permit department (about a month just for the city), and the power utility company. From their sales rep, to the project manager, to the install crew - IWS was easy to reach throughout the process, to answer any questions. The install crew and electrician were great too. We had to wait until the first week of January to turn on the system but that was because the local power company had to update the software in our power meter and they had a delay due to the Christmas and New Year's holiday. Once that was done, we just flipped a switch and the solar PV was in operation. Our system is producing almost exactly the amount of power it was designed to do, and what we expected. Because we are very economical with our power usage, we are net positive to the power company for now. But that means we have the right amount to also recharge a future EV car. Our home is in Redmond, Oregon - and was installed by the crew out of Boise.

Great Friendly Service and product.

We went with Intermountain Wind and Solar in Woods Cross, Utah. Justin Munk (the salesman) was very informative and he explaining a lot options to us. Instillation was done only 1 day. There were some minor issues which were corrected quickly by Chris Streeter (project manger) and we were up and running. The SunPower System is functioning very well so far and overall we are happy with it. Anyone we had contact with at Intermountain Wind and Solar treated us very well which included their installers. We highly recommend Intermountain Wind and Solar.

Excellent Workmanship, Excellent Service

These guys know their stuff! They did an excellent job installing my system, and had a very professional and courteous work crew. Top notch quality, and the system has been performing flawlessly since it was installed. I would highly recommend them if you are looking to install a system.

RGK | 06/17/2020

Great to work with.

ISW were great to work with and they had a competitive price.

Gary Hunter | 06/16/2020

Great installation that’s cranking out the kilowatts

With only a couple glitches during the long-distance installation, our 20 panel Panasonic system that went online on February 18th has now produced 4 megawatts of power, while only paying the minimum required $10.52 per month to the power company. We even survived an 81 mph stormnado with large hail and resumed energy production as if nothing happened. Highly recommend Intermountain Wind and Solar.

Marcos | West Jordan, UT | 06/16/2020

Great solar company to work with!

I selected this company because of their time established and reviews. They did not disappoint. This is not a fly by-night-company. They handled every aspect of the solar panels to include warranty instructions, permits, rebate paperwork etc. The installers were very professional, kept me informed of the process, any problems etc. The panels we picked (Panasonic) seem to be great (we're only a couple of months in), and are very minimalist, and can't tell they are there, although that could be cause we have a high roof. They also made sure the install on the side house, which is visible, looks professional and not sloppy. Haven't had to use their warranty department, which is good thing, so I can't comment on that, but I'm sure they're great to work with.

Scott | 06/16/2020

I am glad about My purchase

I look at what is on other roofs in regard to their solar panels. I notice most have either the 265 or 280-watt solar panels. I did a lot of research before I purchased these. I am pleased I went with Sunpower solar panels, rated at 340 watts. My electric bill is $8.99 per month. The ROI will be in a few more years, then they have paid for themselves. The only thing I wish I would have done is to purchase battery backup. Tesla power wall. And, maybe have the supplemental power source box installed by the electrician inside the house instead of outside. IMWS did a professional job on the install. Am very pleased with the quality job they did.

Katie | 06/15/2020

I couldn’t be happier that I chose Jeff and the IWS team!

I’ve had my solar for a year now and I love not having a power bill! Jeff and IWS were a dream to work with and 10/10 I would highly recommend!!!

Bob Barr | 06/15/2020

Good job, good Workmanship, showed up when they said they would.

Good communication, seemed to be fair on the price and lots of experience.

J. Rais | 06/15/2020

Totally happy!

Two plus years online now and our system has lived up to as advertised. It’s been trouble free. The install went well and we were so happy to have them agree to a ground mount over a roof install. It was a good sized system with 48 panels.

Photo traveler | Boise, ID | 06/15/2020

Good Product Poor Follow-up

I chose IMWS because the product was highly rated and the sales people seemed to know what they were doing. The product is fine and was installed correctly. It just took forever for the installation to happen. My sales rep left the company and the district manager didn't seem to have enough time to make sure my order was properly prioritize. Any service comes from Utah. I've had problems with the reporting system continually dropping my internet signal. I emailed the district manager after having no response from the service guys. Finally one service guy called back and we were able to resolve the issue. The service manager never responded.

Jer | 06/15/2020

Personally I was very pleased with IWS

Not knowing who to choose from was not easy. The final decision was made when they assured me the price was fare, the workmanship was of high quality, the they went overboard to make sure I was satisfied with the completed system. It works well and looks professional.

Mike Williams | Cottonwood Heights, UT | 06/15/2020

Awesome company

I was referred by a friend, the associate who assisted, Bryson Evans, was extremely professional. My system was installed in December 2015. I had to get the Utah Public Services Commission to get Rocky Mountain moving, contract was signed in October and RMP kept dragging their feet. IMWS helped push the install date. The install team arrive on the assigned date and time. They cleared the roof of snow and got to work. The electricians were amazing. My 30 panels and all components were installed by early afternoon. Bryson the sales associate came by to lend a hand, he got on the roof and pitched in. My system became operation in January, thanks RMP. The monitoring program is great we determined that a couple panels were not producing to specifications, IMWS speedy responded and replaced them. Could not be more pleased. Annual bill from RMP under $200.00, less than my summer monthly bill.

Charlotte Gant | west bountiful, UT | 06/15/2020

Fine except for one issue

They were the most professional when I got assessments, all those years ago.

Very professional team of associates

Bryson was very informative and personalized in his presentation and follow up. Great value and quality equipment.
