Fluent Solar

My system was installed in Feb 2023 ! I was producing electricity for about a year when my system went down. My one year old inverter failed. I conducted Fluent and they had solar edge send my the inverter and a approved Fluent contractor contacted me to repair my system. I was down for about 1 month. However during the installation of the inverter, the contractor told me which he included in his report that I only had two strings going to my inverter. One string was at max while the other was over the strings maximum. He suggested that I would need two additional strings and this very well could have been the cause of the failed inverter. I got the run around from fluent for the first couple of months but then talked with an individual who said they would send a contractor. Well no contractor and Fluent has now gone out of business. That also mean no support for the 25 year warranty we or I received. If anyone from Fluent or any company owned by Graham W??? who owned fluent comes to sell you something , run, say no and tell them to get the hell out of here. PS: I am not sure Fluent Solar in Canada is still in operations?

Out of business

Contract signed Feb '21. Permission to operate with utility company Sep' 21. Lately they are not responding to emails and sending automated responses directing me to my lender. Seems like they are going out of business.

Alex | Dickinson, TX | 08/06/2024

Scam company!!

Fluent installed solar panels over two years ago, still cannot pass fire inspection due to the location of panels above my garage that prevent, in case of fire, egress from the upstairs bedroom. They should have known before installing that this would be an issue. They never, NEVER, contact me, it is always on me to contact them. I have been through no less than five different project managers which says a lot that they cannot retain employees. I have filed multiple BBB complaints and all I get is the same BS response from Fluent. The most recent being that they have contracted to a third party yet won't provide me with who the third party is and/or how to contact them. I am done with this company, they are poor at literally everything that makes a company a success. They know nothing about how to care for the customer and in my case, they show no interest in actually completing the project. I have a sustained, unresolved complaint stating that they are in breech of contract. One would think that at some point, they would finally just get the project done but no. They are basically daring me to sue them which, at this point, seems to be the only option left. Run for the hills if you see this company coming, run them off and no need to be polite about it either.

Caution-Fluent Solar

System installed March, 2023. Loan payments started on time and are continuing. Reimbursement checks came util five months ago, now nothing. I was told the holdup was that they were "batching" the checks instead of individual monthly payments. Despite the fact that Fluent owes me at least $449.82 (6 $74.97 payments) they dont answer your calls. Additionally, the salesman was wrong when he told me I'd be eligible for a 30% federal tax credit. Consequently, my loan payment increased to over $100.00. Ideally, that salesman isn't with Fluent any longer so there is no recourse to his misinformation. I should have realized from the start that Fluent Solar was a poorly managed business when it was quite apparent the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing on a regular basis. I regret doing business with them. They screwed me over on the tax credit and probably the balance of reimbursements due me. Thank You William Bryce Murphy

Mr. D. Jones, Sr. | Louisville, KY | 07/19/2024

Mr. D. Jones Sr.

The worst company for office support and receiving everything that was implied during the sales conversation. I have had my solar panels since Sept. 2023 and I have only received ONE disbursement check and was told I would receive the checks to cover the cost for the first 18 months. I have called over 12 times and was told the same thing and NO RESOLUTION to this problem. This company should not be in business if this is how they treat customers for a Very Expensive investment.

Jennifer | Maineville, OH | 06/23/2024

Buyer Beware

Was so excited to get this done . That being said nothing and I mean NOTHING a about what I was sold has been accurate since day one. Between my solar bill and my energy bill I pay more than ever a system that was supposed to cover 70 percent or more of my electric bill covers maybe 25%. When I called noticing the huge discrepancies between our readouts versus what is actual was blown off and told well you don’t understand solar. When pressed call your salesperson who is no longer with the company. Bad install, wrong install, damage to my home, installer walking on solar panels the list is endless. Bottom line I am stuck paying for something that plain doesn’t do what was promised and future expenses when the damage to my property needs fixed beyond what has been done. Don’t walk away RUN.

Terrible company

We signed a contract to have fluent solar get a solar panels and a new roof. They were not able to provide us with a roofer, despite numerous options that we found on our own. they dragged their feet for months and months never made any progress and we ended up getting our insurance to cover our roof And decided not to use a solar panels altogether because we could not get a hold of fluent solar for going on 10 months. When I called to cancel our contract with them they made us pay $1500 for a cancellation contract even though we literally got literally nothing from them

Poor service, Poor Communication, Lies Lies Lies

My converter went out. I was not producing any electricity. Took over a month to get it fixed. Sunnova was contracted to replace it. The only form of communication has been so far TEXTING> I was told I would get reimbursed for the time my unit was out. I sent them the Bills for the time period of lost productivity. I recieved a TEXT today saying "sorry we would not be able to reimburse you." Who told you that you would be reimbursed?" "It is not written in contract for reimbursement issues. OMG. If any solar company comes a knocking get red faced and tell them "Hell No"

LL | Little Rock, AR | 02/02/2024

I talk a customer svc rep yesterday and told me to send Entergy bills so you can reevaluate bill my bill to see why our Entergy bill went up like it did. I call the Entergy Co and told us to reach out to you guys since you guys were ones who put solar in. Sales rep told us I bill would not go up pass 11.00 a month but our bill we were paying like 12.00 to 14.00 a month. We're not going to pay high Entergy bill and pay for solar to. I already got a complaint about the incentive payment which that sales rep never told us about that at all. This misleading a customer because if they would have told us incentive payment 12k+ we wouldn't never gotten solar install. That's something should be explained to the customer up front but won't say upfront because they know customer wouldn't get it.

Greg | Medina, OH | 01/28/2024

Lied to my face and ultimately paying more than communicated.

Service has been terrible but the most frustrating part is when someone tells you exactly how this will go. My wife and I both asked about the cost of this project. And were told we had a flat rate each month; which we agreed to and a tax credit; which we were lead to believe would pay for the installation. Only to be delivered a loan for the 'remainder of the installation and equipment costs'. What a slap in the face. Not only that, our agreed upon flat rate is no longer flat... This has been a total disaster. I would not do this if given the chance again.

Matt Needham | Lawrence, KS | 01/09/2024

Frustrated

The salesman did a great job getting me excited about solar, but I should have done more research. My solar system went in several months late. I dealt with 3 or 4 different project managers. It was different each time I finally got ahold of them (they did not keep in contact with me). I was part of a promotion where they pay the first 18 months of loan payments. I've had to call and inquire about the check every month. They used to be about a month late. Currently I am waiting on 2 checks that are late. I wish I hadn't signed with Fluent.

Trash Service

It has been over a year with mostly me doing the leg work to get techs out to my property. September was the last time I had them by and they still couldn’t figure out how to make it all work. I was advised that someone would have to go into the attic to see if the panels (from a year ago) were installed correctly. Then someone made an appointment telling me they would not need access to the attic. The after the appointment no show they finally respond to my emailed concerns telling me I was correct. They don’t listen or address any of the issues. I’m paying for a system that has not worked since they installed it. They cannot keep technicians or people in their “tech support” department which just supports the lack of quality, competence and customer care they provide to the poor suckers like me who believe the sales pitch. Runnnnnnnn! If the call, don’t answer. If the knock, don’t answer. It will not end well. It’s been a year and counting now…and the number I’ve been using to communicate with them no longer works. This is company is a new age charlatan praying on those who want cleaner solutions to energy that won’t bankrupt them.

Jon Chapin | Painesville, OH | 12/06/2023

I got "Bait and Switched" I figured to pay for the "free" installation of a solar system, this time with a back-up battery. I was promised a battery by the AD and the salesman, Daniel Peterson, would be included. Corporate rarely answers the telephone, or you get a computer. I am still waiting for a bidirectional meter.

I would give this company 0 starts. The communication with this "company" is horrible. I been trying to get ahold of someone for 4 days emails calls go unanswered. My "sales rep" phone is disconnected. Please don't take this review with a grain of salt like I did. DON'T USE FLUENT SOLAR!!!!!!

Jared spencer | Wichita, KS | 10/11/2023

Will say anything to get you to buy

Shady deal. They tell you it'll cover 102% of your energy bill but in reality, it'll only cover 102% of your estimated energy bill that they make up. After all the efficiency packages and crap they sold me, they estimated almost 450kwh difference per month. Basically just bull**** the number until it fit a price range I could afford. Now I'm stuck paying 60+ electricity bill plus 140 a month for the solar panels which is higher than if i just had regular electricity. If you're buying it from an investment standpoint, I'd highly recommend against it as the return won't be for over 25 years.

Connor | Denver, CO | 10/05/2023

Unorganized and misleading

Would not recommend to anyone. We signed the contract in June 2022, installation started in January 2023 and did not finish until October 2023. High employee turnover so no one could consistently help. Terrible experience. Regret going through Fluent

Lizzie | Bella Vista, AR | 09/12/2023

Worst Service and Company

I had solar installed by this company and it has been the worst experience. The charged me for tree removal never removed the tree. A panel broke only a few days after install still hasn't been fixed after almost 5 months. Also still don't have a refund for the amount they charged me for the tree removal. Go somewhere else horrible customer service and company.

Greg | South Park, PA | 09/08/2023

Awful decision

Panels have been on my roof for 4 months and havent produce any power. It has been nothing but a nightmare since the start. Go somewhere else for solar. Worst decision I’ve made in my life and ive been divorced !!!

Fluent is incompentent.

Our panels were delivered and sat in the yard for 4 weeks. Finally installed in November and took another 3 months to apply caution tape on conduits to pass city inspection. We were given notice that the system was operational and we could view our system through Solaredge. I still am not on line in mid June and have been unable to get a resolution despite contacting Fluent regularly requesting assistance. When we are able to speak to someone it seems they are unconcerned with customer service or satisfaction. I would never recommend Fluent Solar to anyone but the Better Business Bureau and the states Attorney General.

Olivia P | Cleveland, OH | 05/16/2023

Awful Experience

Absolutely the worst company I have ever worked with. It took well over a year for them to install anything then they kept telling me things were working when they were not. Their sales rep promised I would save money, however the system is terrible, it cost thousands of dollars more than they told me it would, and now they have eaten up at more than a quarter of my deferred payment time without having connected my system. I wish I could go back and never have the solar panels installed. DO NOT USE FLUENT SOLAR.

Kim Lawrence | El Dorado, KS | 04/16/2023

Installation process - Worst experience ever. Signed up June 3. Told that it would be up and operating within 3 months took seven months. I was also sold the system with the “Tax Incentives” being explained that I would get the money back like a rebate not a Tax Credit. The sales rep knew that I was on social security disability and had no income outside my social security. I made it clear I couldn’t afford the extra expense without getting the rebate money back to apply to current debt. I was getting treatments at the cancer center at the time and text him the next day that I wanted him to cancel the contract while I checked closer into the tax incentives but again he assured me everything was ok. I struggled from cognitive issues from the treatments and mentioned that as well at the time. But he was still pushed me to maintain the contract in good faith that I would be able to collect the tax incentives as a $5600 rebate. Outside of the contract I have months and months of empty promises made and numerous visits by inexperienced tech that came out that had NO CLUE HOW TO GET MY SYSTEM UP AND OPERATIONAL or that found as resolution and then when they would get ready to come out all of a sudden someone higher up would have changed the plan and again more B/S. It took a local electrician about five minutes to diagnose the problem. Fluent's technicians kept trying to plug a fuse into a slot it wouldn’t fit. No matter how hard they tried slamming the thing in. The local electrician rewired to adjust to a different slot and amazingly it all worked perfectly. Could have been up and running five months earlier if first tech had known what he was doing let alone the following techs. Now that I am up and running it is working well. I am enjoying $12 - $15 electric bills. Hopefully no more issues hereon.

Fluent Solar sells a quality product

After finally getting installed and one month of use, I have about a 60% reduction in usage. Keep in mind only about 60% of the month was sunny. I don't expect 100% energy coverage and there will always be an energy company bill due to their reoccurring charges. So it's not a wash as pitched. Intern the overall cost will be more than the energy bill alone this time of year. Hopefully the overall costs will even out over the year. The added value to my home helps make it a worthwhile investment. Fluent Solar sold us a quality product only to be installed by a separate contractor, of which I wasn't aware of when purchased. Fluent customer service has been very helpful and informative when needed. Would I buy again, time will tell.

Chris White | New Carlisle, OH | 11/01/2022

Install was perfect. It took about 4 months for the PTO due to the utility company approval process. It seems like their communication process could be improved which I believe is no fault of Fluent.

Pedro & Wilma Melchor | Pearland, TX | 10/05/2022

Great Start, Horrible Finish

The Sales pitch was amazing and we were all in. Our associate, Jake was very thorogh in his knowlege in the system and he made alot of promises that turned out to not to be true. Our panels were installed in late April and were turned on October 3rd of this year. A promise of 2-3 months was a lie. The communication from my Project Manager to me was horrible. He ended up getting fired. Finally we got someone else and was outstanding (Paul Aguilar). Howver, the promise that Jake of not having another pwoer bill, ever was a lie. Paul stated once my system got turned on, "you will always have an electric bill even though you went solor," was another lie from Jake (saleman). "I really don't know who told you that but they need to stop using that sales pitch," as per Paul Aguilar.

Blake F. | Salt Lake City, UT | 05/26/2022

Angry and not going to take it anymore.

Fluent solar door-to-door sales person lied to me about the financial and business benefits of signing a contract with them. There lies included receiving $16,500 back from the government, fixed cost structure, availability of supply when the power company goes down, etc. They then send a contract with difficult to understand language basically telling you everything they promised is a lie. I tried to cancel my installation with them prior to it being finished or used and they told me that I am on the hook for $65,000 regardless if it is installed or not. Do NOT trust anything this company says. Do NOT work with them. Do NOT believe their fake ratings.

Fluent Solar Experience

Overall we had a good experience with Fluent Solar. The sales process went smoothly. In addition to just solar panels, we went with the premium energy efficiency package. This included the solar panel system, installation, shade tree removal, attic insulation upgrades, aeroseal duct sealing, solar attic fan, smart thermostat, and 24 LED energy efficient light bulbs. At the beginning, our primary sales contact was helpful with the transition to the installation process. She helped us resolved an issue with the tree removal contractor almost immediately. However, she left the company and we were not assigned another direct project manager to work with. At that point, all questions and requests had to go the general customer service line. They were generally responsive, though sometimes we had to wait an hour or two for a call back. My biggest complaint is with the installation/inspection process. The installation and on site inspection representative is handled through subcontractors. The electrical sub needed to rewire my electrical panel and switch some breakers around. He didn't completely label what rooms/appliances were switched between breakers so I had to go through and turn off breakers in the panel, figure out what was being controlled, and relabel 2 breakers on the panel. The inspection rep turned on the system after the city inspector approved the installation. However, after reviewing the system instructions I learned that the system was NOT to be turned on until the utility installed the net meter and and gave permission to operate. I needed to call customer service to learn how to turn off the system until we received the permission to operate from our utility. I feel that these are big mistakes on their part and they should ensure their subcontractors are better trained in these areas. Since we received permission to operate and we switch the system on, I've been very happy. Our meter has been running backwards and I'm confident we will be a net energy producer for the year. Even in the heart of summer with our AC running every day, I expect to break even on electricity with our solar panels.

disappointed John | Greeley, CO | 04/22/2022

Fluent takes no responsibility

Fluent has all work done and the loan set up by 3rd parties. Fluent will not take responsibility for any problems with the installation, the added insulation in your attic, the loan, your new meter. when you call them, you are always, always on hold for a long time. you can not ever talk to a person in engineering or the "install " team. (who actually does not DO the installation). I am already paying on my loan and the added attic insulation and attic fan has not been done yet. maybe in another month! and Fluent takes NO responsibility for that. there is a big long scratch in one of the panels and a foggy area in another. Fluent takes no responsibility. This review will never be posted as they review these reviews.

Josh | Kinsman, OH | 04/10/2022

Don’t bother

I’ll be going on a year without having functioning solar panels, they say multiple employees left, they are waiting on another company to finish. That company says they are no longer doing business with them. It’s been a constant up hill battle we can’t back out of, we are paying a solar bill + our normal electric bill. Sales Reps strong arm you into doing business with them upon arrival to your house as well.

Dan B | Cincinnati, OH | 02/15/2022

Above Neutral from start to finish

Our interactions with this company have been neutral to above neutral the entire time. There are a lot of different people/entities involved in the relationship (contractors). Information was slow flowing and the process felt long. Granted, Covid, permitting, utility sign-off, etc complicated the timeline, but we started this process in October and it is currently mid-Feb.

B Link | Dublin, OH | 02/10/2022

The worst company in solar

I thought I did a lot of research into solar prior to selecting Fluent, but I would never recommend working with them after my experience. My panels have been on my roof since November but they have never completed the install and got me connected to the utility. I've been attempting to address it with them for months and they have not kept any of their promises to me in getting them actually connected and I'm now paying loan payments on a product that is useless to me (to say nothing of the issues of actually getting them installed where they didn't even have all the parts to get them installed the first time they showed up). I urge you to please to go BBB and look them up there and not just rely upon google reviews!!!

Lori | Denver, CO | 01/19/2022

Horrible Company

I would NOT recommend Fluent Solar. They installed the panels almost 2 years ago and the system does NOT pass inspection. The system has failed 4 times. They do not call to notify you of the progress or lack of progress. I am paying them for a system for a broken system.

Kyle | Lees Summit, MO | 01/07/2022

Great experience. Person knocked on my door and wasn’t super pushy. Highly recommend going solar and with Fluent.

Matt | Aurora, CO | 12/13/2021

Job well done

I was always hesitant about getting solar for my house, always thinking it would be too expensive, or would take too long to get my money back on energy savings. Cody, from Fluent, was the salesman that visited me. He was great at explaining the panels, how the system works, upfront pricing and was able to answer all of my questions. The Fluent employees that installed the panels were prompt and courteous. Cody kept me updated throughout the process and was prompt at expediting delays with permits etc. If you are looking to get solar, I highly recommend this company, and especially Cody the salesman.

Solar panels

It was worth the wait. Everyone was very supportive and helpful with my questions. Brandon H. forgot his last name/correct spelling. Very supportive, and always ready to help when I had a question or concern. Did a great job from the beginning in keeping me informed. Thank you. Easy payments and it is super easy to keep track of the energy I'm producing.

Very taken care of and love our solar!

We got solar this past winter. At first we were skeptical but the process was very easy! Owen took care of everything and made life easy on us. It was turned on in the spring and has been collecting power ever since! Very Pleased.

Avoid if you want working solar panels

Our Solar Panels were installed June 29th, 2021. It is now September 2nd, 2021, and we have been trying to get these panels inspected so they can be turned on for over 6 weeks. Our original inspection date was scheduled for July 19th, 2021. No one showed up. My husband and I called and emailed Fluent numerous times over the course of 5 weeks to try to get this rescheduled and every single person we spoke to told us they would call/email us back with an update, but no one ever did. I finally spoke to a very nice lady in customer support on August 23rd, who managed to get the inspection re-scheduled for August 27th (it also only took her about 10 minutes with me on hold to get it re-scheduled, so I am not sure why it couldn't be done as easily in the prior 5 weeks leading up to this.) Well, August 27th comes and the guy from the County arrives at 10AM, but tells me that an electrician from Fluent has to be present in order for him to do the inspection. This was the first time I heard about this, as Fluent made it seem like only someone from the County needed to be there. The guy from the County also said it is a very common problem with Fluent delaying inspections because they do not employ their own electricians, and instead use contractors from numerous companies and they have a difficult time scheduling them appropriately. The guy from the County even told me that in order do get anything out of Fluent, I'm going to have to "be a Karen." I called Fluent as the guy from the County was leaving, spoke to someone in customer support who told me he had just gotten off a call with his boss about my inspection and was told that everything was properly scheduled. That guy seemed very apologetic and sounded like he'd be a big help and told me he would call me back within a half an hour. I never heard back from him. I called back later that evening and spoke to a different guy who simply told me "I see that the inspection was rescheduled for today", so he wasn't much help at all. He also told me he'd give me a call back on Friday evening, but I never from him either. Today, I called and spoke to 2 other guys about this situation. I was handed off to Amar on the installation team, and he told me he would for sure get back to me by Wednesday. Wednesday came and went and not a peep. I called back this morning to try to get a hold of Amar and he was on another call and I was told he would call me back when we was off that call. 2 hours passed, and he did not call me back, so I called again and got the same response. The guy in customer service told me that Amar is working on it, but that there is a hold up with some installation guy. I have no idea what that means other than this company needs to fire someone and work with a different "installation guy" if this is such a problem. I am so frustrated. I have no idea what more I can do to get functioning panels. I wish I had never signed a contract with this company.

The Sales Rep was great!

But the rest of the team, not so much. Too many delays. Calls/texts from different reps with different/wrong info. The list goes on.

kworth | Centerton, AR | 08/16/2021

Not a good company

We were so excited to start our solar journey and to reduce our footprint. However, things have not turned out as we hoped. 1) Customer service is helpful, but only to a certain point. You can call and ask questions and they tell you then will get with the respective team and call you back. They never call back. We have had to call a multitude of times, spoke to numerous representatives over four months to get any answers. 2)The sales representative (Jonathan Turner) was nice and seemed genuine. We were concerned that if the panels would not produce enough that we would then be stuck to pay the electric company and then the loan for the panels. He assured us that IF the panels did not produce enough to cover our electric bill (after a few months) that Fluent would install additional panels at no cost to ensure that the right amount of energy was produced. Also, that the app would tell us everything we would need/want-How much each panel produces, overall production, and consumption 3) The app can do those things we were told if everything is set up within the system correctly AND if you PAY EXTRA for a consumption meter. For the first four months we had to call and ask why the app wasn't showing everything that we were told and why it was producing less than it should have. Come to find only through my constant inquiries over multiple months that they were able to see that six of the panels were not hooked up. Therefore, our system wasn't able to produce the max amount it should have. And if we wanted we can pay for the additional device to see production vs consumption 4) Eight months into this we are still paying our electric bill PLUS the solar panel loan. This has equated to more each month than we ever paid just for just the electric bill. We reached out to customer service and the finalization team to assist. We have come to find out that they will not add more panels to bring our system up to par for our home. That we were undersold what we actually needed and if we want the proper amount we need that we will require to pay for more panels. Overall, customer service isn't responsive/helpful, you as the customer/consumer must do all the follow-up, and the sales representative lies. This company isn't worth your time or money.

Great communication

Once deciding to go solar Fluent has communicated with us every step of the way on what was happening. River Skinner also visited face to face to discuss certain steps and what to expect next. Panels were installed yesterday and we are waiting for final inspection. If you’re in the market fir going Solar, look no further than Fluent.

Ok customer service. Over promised under delivered.

When the installation is happening you are told that if you don’t produce enough power they will add another panel at their cost to make sure your house is producing enough. The panels have not produced enough power not one single day since they have been a place.

The experience has been wonderful!

Kayla was amazing, gave us all the information we needed and was transparent!

Pretty good.

It would be helpful to have one point of contact as communications with individuals don’t seem to make it to other members of the team. Very confusing with 1Solar as to who to contact for what and it would again be nice if communication with one party made it to the other.

High Quality, poor communication

Fluent is one of many solar contractors in Colorado, and they offered an excellent package at a reasonable price. We chose them for the quality materials offered, their financial backing, and their customer service reviews. We have been disappointed in the lack of communication after the documents were signed. Without any consultation with us homeowners, we have had contractors coming over for months to get our system turned up, but with zero warning or notice. We are coming up on seven months the panels have been on our roof and still can't use the system. In general, we're very pleased with our decision, but we really want to see better communication in the future.

Waiting on a paycheck | Aurora, CO | 05/24/2021

Awful

Absolutely awful company to deal with. Our sales guy promised to be there every step of the way, after we signed he disappeared. Then there was no communication on how it all works and the process. I needed up having to call multiple times and I practically had a part time job trying to manage my install - I am still waiting on my paycheck for all of my time I spent in the phone and my pain and suffering. Then they had the audacity to call me and ask how my install was and how great did they do - well I have them an earful and the guy who called said he would follow up - surprise surprise I never heard back which is par for the course with this company. If u don’t mind doing there job/ managing ur own install go with them otherwise save yourself the aggravation and find a beater company l.
