We spent quite a bit of time researching different solar companies before deciding on who to go with. Genuine Solar provided the best deal by far. The salesmen were great to work with and responded to questions in a timely manner throughout the entire process.

We needed a roof replacement, and when that was going to be done, I had always said I wanted solar at the same time. Well mother nature pushed us a little quicker than we planned on. But with the tax incentives going down, our balloon mortgage coming due. It all lined up nicely. I went with RoofTek for both, because I wanted piece of mind with warranties from the same companies, for 2 different projects, that way there was no finger pointing saying the other screwed up. Andrew was great from the solar side of things, Marcus was fantastic on getting the roof things lined up, and Sam did great with the hand-off from Andrew in keeping me up to date with install dates. Its been going since Oct (1st of March now) And we had 1 little hiccup with the panels/system, and they were on it with in 2 days. So far so good.. TIME TO GET TO THE SUNNY MONTHS!!!!!

We made the decision as we wanted to invest in solar and very quickly realized there is a lot of information we did not know and had no experience with. The company that rose to the top in our evaluation was Ion Solar, a recommendation from xCel Energy. As we have decided and would like to move forward with ion Solar, luckily on the same week; the sales person Taylor knocked our door and asked our interest. From there on, everything was a very smooth process and now my system is on and running successfully. As we moved through the process, Ion Solar was communicative, professional and provided us every bit of information we needed. We are grateful to Ion Solars is our solar partner. No hype, no pressure just a great education and delivery on what they said they would do. I would personally recommend Ion Solar.

Eugene Oregon solar project , over 1 month
Blue Sky Solar recently completed my solar installation at my home in Eugene Oregon. The entire project was done in a timely fashion. They did all of the paperwork from design, permit application, loan application and the installation. My questions were promptly answered. They kept me informed of what was being done and when it would be completed. Give Blue Sky a call if you are interested a quality solar system.

We worked with Chris out of the Corona office, he's very knowledgeable, very responsive, and did a great job. We had our hiccup's with the city, but he and his company followed through, and got things done as efficiently as possible given the hoops they had to jump through. We had a very good experience and recommend them highly.

Power CO is very easy to work with. They were professional and communicated with me throughout the entire process. Their price was the lowest by far of any of the other 3 bids, even though they use the better optimizers, and there were no unexpected charges on the final bill. My system works exactly as it was designed and my electricity bills have been reduced dramatically. I will use them again when I purchase a new home next year.

I worked with Dave Herr on the installation of my solar panels and he was responsive and clear with quotes. He took care of the required permits efficiently and the actual install went smoothly and in a timely fashion. All time estimates were very accurate and I couldn't be happier with the result. I highly recommend Dwelltek.

Decided in about Sep of 2019 to finally order a solar PV intertied system. Incredibly, they were able to complete the proposal, design and engineering work, permits and install before the end of the year, all in about 3 months time. If you've ever done re-modeling work with permits, you can appreciate that this is a very timely install! This involves multiple parties, city permit department (about a month just for the city), and the power utility company. From their sales rep, to the project manager, to the install crew - IWS was easy to reach throughout the process, to answer any questions. The install crew and electrician were great too. We had to wait until the first week of January to turn on the system but that was because the local power company had to update the software in our power meter and they had a delay due to the Christmas and New Year's holiday. Once that was done, we just flipped a switch and the solar PV was in operation. Our system is producing almost exactly the amount of power it was designed to do, and what we expected. Because we are very economical with our power usage, we are net positive to the power company for now. But that means we have the right amount to also recharge a future EV car. Our home is in Redmond, Oregon - and was installed by the crew out of Boise.

Solaroo installed my system a few years ago, and now I have a leak in my roof. Solarfox will not honor Solaroo warranty, so not sure why they are saying (Formerly Solaroo Energy) in the business title. Very misleading. Either honor their warranty and fix my leak, or don't claim them.

So far so good. We just had them installed yesterday and so far it’s been great. The installers were so great and went through everything with me before they left. They did leave a sign in my yard. It doesn’t bother me much, that was just one little thing they didn’t tell me they were going to do or ask if they could. Other than that I have had great communication from the corporate office in Utah and the installers were great with communication as well.

Smart Wave Solar did a superb job of every thing from start to finish with installing my solar panels. After comparing them to many other companies they were by far the least expensive for top quality panels. Even with Covid stuff going on that caused some pinch points they manged to get things done in a reasonable time frame. I am happy so far with my purchase, the service and the over all results of their work. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to get into solar.

Rocky Mountain Renewable Energy was amazing to work with. I have wanted solar but was worried about the financial commitment. I was worried it wouldn't be worth the money. After a long conversation with Bryan I became very confident it was the best company to go with and the best decision financial. They got me an amazing interest rate and working with my payments. They made sure I got solar in an affordable manner! I am so grateful for their understanding, their willing to be flexible, and still giving me the best product. Everyone form the owner to them men who installed the equipment were beyond amazing. They were kind, respectful, and got everything in and going so quickly. I would recommend the company to my family, friends, anyone!!!!!

We recently had Rick installed a 5.4kW/hr solar system. We went with Rick as: - he is local and competitive. We realized during our evaluation that other solar companies come and go especially their sales personnel. We believe Rick will be around to stand behind his warranty; -we learned from our due diligence that Rick himself also believes in solar power. We can tell from county records and Google Map/Earth that he has solar panels on 4 properties he owns. This is not the case with a few other solar companies we evaluated; It's also comforting to know Rick never cash our check for 50% deposit for a few weeks until our application was approved by the power company and the city. There is quite a bit going on at the back office and Jackie was good with her weekly update and state credit application. Tanner, his cousin and another installer who did the actual install were also very professional and accommodating. The system is currently working 6% ahead of annual estimated production despite some power clipping.

The reviews scores for the largest solar companies are far worse than those for local, family-owned solar installation companies.
The best solar companies meet the following criteria:
The solar industry is full of fly-by-night solar companies — both big and small — that open one year and are gone the next.
Solar panels last for 25-30 years, so you want an installer who will help you with any problems or system faults. For this to happen, your installer needs to be able to stay in business
Local solar companies, as a group, have the highest reviews score on our site and also have lower overheads than corporate installers, making them more likely to survive in the long term.
