Sunriver Solar

Six months ago, in the fall of 2023 I had a solar energy system installed on my home. The installation company was Sunriver Solar, out of Auburn, CA. From all aspects of design, consultation, estimation, to installation, Sunriver did an excellent job.

Installation was completed in one day, and the crew was very professional. The Sunriver team followed up after a few weeks to make sure everything was to our satisfaction. Our bill before was averaging over $350/month, and since installation, it is now between $10-$11 per month and I am accruing credits. We are very happy with our Sunriver solar.

We cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Sunriver Solar. From the beginning they were very informative with their scope of work to be perform. Our questions about the installation were answered in detail. The installation crew was very knowledgeable, professional, and courteous. Sixteen panels were installed at precise locations on the roof to maximise energy output. When the inspection was completed, the solar power was turned on. I cannot remember the last time a company did such a great job of keeping me informed of every step of a process. Getting solar is not a quick decision, and it does take time between getting quotes (I think I got 6), the applications to the electric provider, permits, etc. But they took care of all of it. I am still wondering what I missed. It seemed too easy. And they kept me posted regularly throughout the process. I am rather handy, a builder by trade so I am particular about the equipment or materials I purchase. After extensive research I discovered the the panels and inverters they suggested were top of the line. They installed the type of equipment I would have asked for so the price I paid for the system feels even better. To think that kind of service is available, in this day and age where customer service barely exists, and from the best price of any of the quotes. Hard to believe. I even needed to have my old electric panel replaced which they did for a price my electrician friend said was a good price. My power was off for 1 morning/afternoon to change the electric panel, exactly as they said. I couldn't have made a better choice in solar companies and now that it has been 6 months since the install, the cost of the solar is looking like a great decision overall. Thank you Sunriver Solar.

We have had our system up and running for 6 months. We started our solar purchase during the time when everyone interested in solar was trying to get in under the deadline for NEM2. As such, all solar companies were very busy. We got 4 quotes with Sunriver being very competitive. They were informative at quote time and kept us informed throughout the process. No question was too small. Very impressed with the installation crew getting it done in one day on a hot roof during the last week of June. Also, they completely cleaned up after themselves which is appreciated. The system, so far, has met or exceeded our expectations.

Clear and concise contract, transparent communications, and nothing unnecessary. My solar project was installed in a timely manner and as agreed upon. The monitoring app was explained to me in detail after installation and I was introduced to the service department if something were to ever arise. I recommend Sunriver Solar.

Long story short, this company messed up our contract by moving the project up by 3 months, then telling us we couldn't add a battery because it was too 'last minute" even though we told them multiple times through the whole process that's what we wanted. Overall, we ended up having to pay over $800 to not be sued in court??? Because we wanted out of a $70k contract that THEY messed up.

Sun River Solar provided me fantastic service and installation. I am a tough customer. I bid my project out to 7 solar companies, Noah, Calderon, Luke, Will and Tom at Sun River came through and beat all prices and provided the products I wanted. They dealt with my list of project conditions and installed exactly what I wanted, maximizing solar production. I really like the phone app interface where I can see my solar production. I know I made the right choice hiring Sun River Solar.

We recently chose Sunriver Solar to install a solar system at our home in Grass Valley and could not be happier with the service we received. Being an engineer, I just had to conduct a detailed analysis to try to ensure that we were getting the very best that we could for our hard earned money. Along with with a neighbor (also an engineer) we had multiple companies quote for our solar installations and we compared all of the technical specifications, warranties, cost breakdowns and company details (size, # of employees, customer ratings, years in business etc) and in the end, Sunriver solar was the company that scored the overall highest rating. Everyone who we dealt with was wonderful to work with. They arrived when they said they were going to, worked professionally and cooperatively with us as the homeowners. Our system was a ground mount due to our particular situation so it took a few days longer than a roof mounted system would have but, even then, all of the work was completed in about a week and a half. The performance of the system has exceeded our expectations and in March 2022 has already produced a larger daily kWh generation than a similar sized system at our previous home in July last year! If you are looking for a good local solar installer, look no further than these guys, you won't be sorry.

One of the most important aspects to me was that the install/integration was done by SunRiver employees not 3rd party subcontracts as many use. I wanted them to have some ownership of the product install. The guys were a credit to the company, just a few days to install 35 panels, and its producing energy right away. Discussions from a commercial perspective were absolutely clear and easy, first class from start to finish.

This company impressed us from the minute we met the sales person. Initially we were just getting information but the salesman was so well prepared answering all of our questions that we immediately decided to proceed. We were constantly amazed at the service before, during installation and after the final inspection. Our tough city inspector was so impressed after he climbed off the roof he asked for the company name. Price, terrific, performance the same.

We’d been looking to get solar for a while. We got quotes from companies big and small near and far. We had specific equipment in mind, Sunriver had no problem sourcing it at a fair price. There team was courteous and quick. From the first meeting to final inspection and beyond they worked hard to meet our needs. Glad we went with this company!

Rick Tooi , owner of Sunriver Solar, was extremely professional in his presentation of the solar concept and how to correctly apply it to my needs. The installation was flawless. The job was very clean at all times and he repairs any unavoidable damage to rain gutters, siding, roofing, etc at his expense. I highly recommend Sunriver Solar.

I typically ran $800.00-$900.00 a month on PG&E bill during June, July, and August. I had changed out all my old single pane sliders and south facing Windows, changed to fluorescent bulbs, upgraded my appliances, and really hadn't noticed that much of a difference in my billing. I just got my first Utility bill for June it was $20.02 😎 I was elated!!!! Rick and Teresa were great to work with as well as their entire crew. They took care of everything! I had a very tight timeline and they managed that for me so I had no stress, issues, of any sort. I love my system it's been installed since December and it's the best investment I could have made- My installation was quick, the teams were very clean and organized, everyone was polite and knowledgeable, and I feel as though I have made new friends!

My husband Dave and I have talked to probably ten solar companies. Rick the owner, came out to our house to give us an estimate and after talking with him we were confident we had the right solar company to install solar on our home. Now that the solar system is installed we know we had the right people. They worked extremely hard to help us get financing since we had a difficult situation. Teresa never gave up on us! We had a tile roof that some companies refused to work with or wanted us to replace the roof in order to put solar on it. Rick took a look at our roof and said he would have no problem putting solar on it. They gave us an estimate for just the right amount of solar panels and not way too many like other companies had done. Both Teresa and Rick really cared about doing the best job possible. After the installation they followed up to be sure everything was working properly and walked my husband through the solar app showing us how much electricity our system was generating. We would highly recommend them to anyone considering solar, they treated us like family.

We contracted with SunRiver Solar to remove our solar panels in San Diego, transported them to Grass Valley, and then installed them on our new home. SunRiver was extremely helpful and professional throughout the whole process. I can't say enough good things about them.

We live in the hills in Auburn on 5 acres with dozens of trees 40 to 100 feet tall. Sunriver had some kind of computer program that found the very best place and the direction the solar panels should be located. Then they had to trench a couple of hundred yards for connection to our house. There was no disruption to our service. There is a panel provided that shows the kilowatts saved. We ran the numbers before to see how many years it would take to break even. From what I am seeing now it appears the payoff time will be significantly less than we thought. When I asked why I was told they make conservative estimates. That was a nice surprise. The entire process was professional, friendly and fast. Since this went so well we are going to do it on another house that will be a simple set up in comparison.

In 2009 we installed a 5.6 kw solar system on our roof, and it has performed as promised. The equipment has run flawlessly, and the only maintenance we’ve done has been the occasional cleaning of the panels. We recommend that you install solar, too, and we highly recommend our contractor, Sunriver Solar.
