Always on top of things!

Like most of us homeowners, I've never put solar panels on my home before. I had lots of questions about logistics, city connection, financing, etc. Bethany (Operations) and Randy (Sales) made this so easy for us. They answered all our questions (even the dumb ones) and did all the heavy lifting for us. Randy came to our home, did all of the legwork for financing (twice due to city delays) and made it as easy as signing on the dotted line. Our project got delayed due to supply chain issues with the city meters. Bethany contacted us every week or two even when nothing was happening. She told us every time someone came to the house, why they were there, and if we needed to meet them. Even with the delays, our project went well. I always felt like Smart Wave was on top of things. Thanks for making the process easy!

Very Happy with entire process

We were very happy with our experience from beginning to end with Smart Wave Solar. Steve was very good with us, being very patient answering all of our questions, responding to our concerns, etc. Joriel was great as the process evolved from design to installation, and then to commissioning. Our system works wonderful, the installers did a great job, clean install, and were very good with answering all of our questions, and keeping us in the loop. Our experience with Smart Wave was great, I would highly recommend them if you are looking into solar!

I have had an excellent experience through Smart Wave Solar. From the start, the salesman Randy was very professional and knowledgeable, and most importantly he wasn't pushy! I got four quotes for solar before pulling the trigger with smart Wave, but rather than the constant deluge of calls, texts, and emails I got from his competitors, Randy made two appropriate follow up attempts during the time I was shopping and getting bids from other companies. Later during the installation process I had a problem come up. A miscommunication resulted in my power being left off overnight, and it was a problem I needed an immediate resolution to. Randy was the only employee I had a cell phone number for. He took my call late on a Saturday and despite it having nothing to do with him or his job, helped me get the issue resolved that night. My project manager Joriel has also been a pleasure to work with. She has maintained contact throughout the weeks long installation process. Never overwhelming in her communication, but always ensuring I knew what the next steps were, an approximate timeline, and making sure I didn't have any questions. She has made the process smooth and hassle free. The installation team were also great to work with. They were all friendly, professional, and personable. They came out several times to complete a couple different stages of the instal. Always checked in with me before their arrival, and cleaned up after themselves when they were done.

Working with smart wave was great, we had a small issues with communication but it got worked out quickly and everything went very smoothly with our project.

Exceeded Expectations

I researched solar companies for about a year before I finally found the right company. I met with and listened to the sales pitch from about 12-15 different solar companies. I am surprised how many companies are selling solar to make a fast buck and do not offer full service. Many companies sell the product, then have a separate contractor do the install. This creates a situation where if there is a problem, nobody wants to accept responsibility. The blame game starts and fingers begin being pointed between the sales people and the installers. Smart Wave is a full service company, that sells the product and installs the system. If ever there is a problem, I make one call. Smart Wave comes to the rescue. The customer service at Smart Wave is extraordinary. Jane Newman was in contact with me at least once weekly to keep me up to speed on the process and the progress of the install. If ever I needed a question answered, she answered it for me. If there was a problem, she saw that it was resolved. Smart Wave did everything! Smart Wave was the only company I spoke to that offered a way to switch the solar power being generated from being sent to the grid, to going directly to power my house. This enables me to have power if ever the grid goes down. They are also the only ones that provided a backup battery as part of the package. All of this and their price was still as good or better than their competitors. Smart Wave far exceeded my expectations. I even learned a thing or two about customer service that I have adopted in my own company. The only thing I would caution new buyers about is to do the math if you are tempted to use the company that offers financing for new Smart Wave customers. I found it much cheaper to finance my system through my credit union. The finance company (not Smart Wave) charged an outrageous finance charge for them to provide financing, then I would have to pay interest on top of that. The interest rate was lower than from my credit union, but at my CU I didn't have to pay any loan origination fee. Even though I had a slightly higher interest rate at my CU, I saved about $14,000 to buy the system through my CU. Using the finance company is simply, but you pay a price for the convenience. With a little extra work on my own I saved a lot of money. All in all, Smart Wave is the way to go. Make the jump. You won't regret it. Let Smart Wave take your project from start to finish. They still contact me if there is something not working right. Who else does that after the sale?

We had just moved into our new house and we decided to look at Solar and had talked to a few different companies that had come around to our house. We asked some questions about the panels and how they would potentially be paid for/financed. Each person would give us a different answer and while I had some basic knowledge about the process nobody would give me a straight answer. We ended up at the home show and just happened to walk by Steve with Smart Wave Solar and initially we planned to just keep walking by, but we stopped and struck up a conversation. We set an appointment and Steve came and presented his information and was completely honest and answered all of our questions. We had to delay for a few months to work on some other projects including a wedding for our son and he would periodically reach out and remembered the things we had going on and asked politely if we wanted to move forward. Each time we were not ready until we ended up ready and once we told him to come back he again answered our questions we had and then got the ball rolling. The process was simple and easy and even with the transition to the project manager Jayne it was great. We were notified of each step of the process and it moved through smoothly. We will definitely refer more people to Steve and Smart Wave Solar.

Amazing Service

From the beginning Steve was so kind! We had to reschedule our meeting a couple times but he was so patient and understanding. During the meeting he was informative but never pushy. He answered all of our questions and helped us make an informed decision. After we decided to get solar, things moved pretty fast. The longest part was waiting on permits but that still didn’t take overly long. Joriel kept us updated the entire process and was on top of it. The install crew was so respect and fast! They got the whole things done in 1 day and didn’t make a mess of my yard or driveway. The whole process was amazing and I’d do it again! Thank you Smart Wave Solar!

Extremely happy with my choice

I considered installing solar for two years, looking into more than a dozen different installers and reading up on the various brands of panels and other hardware. I took fulI proposals from five or six different companies and chose Smart Wave Solar as the best overall choice based on products used, their design proposal, the proprietary emergency outlet, and the incredible financing they work with. I wasn't disappointed: they communicated with me at every step of the process, were very professional, and the system is working as planned. The installation is also very clean, it looks great. Diana Stutz and Celia Hanson were great to work with. They also gave me great instructions for maintenance, general use, and extra things like how to claim the solar rebate credit. I recommend them 100%.

Steve Michaels and Jane Neuman did an outstanding job managing my project from start to finish. My install was done in two days, and they handled all of the communications with Rocky Mountain Power and the city for all of the inspections and contracts that were required. In addition, Smart Wave solar was the only company that provided a backup power supply at no additional cost. It facilitates running emergency power to selected devices during unplanned power failures. I researched and requested 3 bids from other installers and found that they offered the best products with the best warranties at very competitive prices. My system is up and running and to date has performed better than expected given the reduced number of daylight hours in November and December.

I had a great experiance with Smart Wave. From the sales team being extremely avaiable for follow up questions while comparing offers, to the support and installation teams handleing all of the needed permits and applications and giving regular updates on the process and progress of the project. I always knew what was happening and what was next.

We had a really nice solar system with battery back-up power installed a month ago by Smart Wave Solar. They do ALL of the installation; they do not sub anything out. They are a complete solar company, unlike others. From the very start, our Energy Consultant/Salesman, Steve Michels , was the best representation that Smart Wave Solar could ever ask for. After the signing of the purchase order, our project coordinator, Joriel Howcroft, consistently kept us up to date and was so helpful. I've met with Smart Wave Solar. The presentation was informative and was able to answer all my questions. The emergency power backup was extremely appealing. What I appreciated the most was being told that with all the trees I have solar isn't a good option for my home. Great experience; exceptional products

As I was interviewing a few Solar Companies, another electrical engineer at my company mentioned Smart Wave. We both discovered that not all home solar systems are basically the same. Smart Wave partners with industry leading component providers resulting in a system that is better able to meet our needs and in which we can have high confidence. I didn't want the expense of a transfer switch, particularly since my breaker box is down in my finished basement, but I did want the ability to run my refrigerator off of the solar system in the event of a power failure (I learned the value of this after going through a few hurricanes in FL). Smart Wave's SMA inverter and free 1000 mAh battery give me all I need to ensure I'm able to keep from losing all the food in the refrigerator. Beyond that, it's simply the best system I saw offered from any of the Solar Companies I interviewed. Customer support throughout the installation was also excellent.

Team Solar

I was expecting our roof to be filled with panels, but apparently these panels are so efficient that it covers just a small part of our roof. I love the emergency power supply inverter that lets us have an outlet to use when the municipal power is down.

Smart Wave installed my solar electricity generating system

I selected Smart Wave from about a half dozen candidates because their cost per kilowatt of generating capacity was the best. This company doesn't carry a lot of debt, and they work efficiently. I checked reviews, and didn't see any red flags for Smart Wave. It takes a while to get a system installed, with multiple inspections and permits by local utilities and governments, but Smart Wave helped make the waiting less frustrating. Smart Wave covered the cost of upgrades to my electrical panel and without adding to the original estimate.

Finally, a contractor who knows how to communicate

Recently installed a 15.2 kW Solar system through Smart Wave Solar. I contacted several Solar companies for quotes, and pricing for similarly sized systems ran the gamut. After speaking with several companies, I developed some opinions on what I felt I needed and what I didn’t. In a prior career, I was a general engineering contractor and have been in a professional sales role for over 20 years. I feel particularly qualified to write this review. Jake Whitney was my sales consultant. He truly had a consultative approach and I get comfortable enough with him, I would call him up to discuss some of the different suggestions on what to install I got from other companies. He is very knowledgeable about the product and I get he was also very transparent in our conversations. But the good didn’t stop with Jake. We are also doing several other renovations on our home and have worked with many other contractors recently. Employee shortages seem to be plaguing everyone. We have had some really bad experiences due to the labor market and contractor’s inability to perform as committed. Bethany Andrews has been our project coordinator. She has maintained weekly contact, letting us know where we were at during each stage of the process. Keeping an open line of communication has been key to understanding what was going on and what to expect. We have had so many “surprises” with out other contractors. Keeping the constant communication kept the surprises to a minimum. Everything happened just as, and when, they said it would. Bethany has also been great in responding to requests and has texted or emailed outside of normal office hours. On top of a great experience, I told one sales person trying to earn my business he was priced too high. He asked why I thought that and shared with him the pricing I was getting from Smart Wave. Point blank, the salesman told me that if they would install the panels and equipment they quoted at the price they quoted, I would be crazy not to go with Smart Wave because he could touch the price. Good price and a great customer experience is a recipe for success. At the end of the install, I really couldn’t be happier with Smart Wave Solar. I haven’t gotten my first electric bill yet, but I’m hoping for great things.
