Grateful for Exceptional Support from Mr. Eduardo Santoyo

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Mr. Eduardo Santoyo for his dedication and outstanding customer service. His quick responses and patience have been invaluable during our recent challenges with our solar system. The Facts: Our solar system, installed by NRG Clean Power, includes a Solar Edge Control Unit, Solar Edge Inverter, and LG Battery. Mr. Eduardo Santoyo, from NRG Clean Power, has been our primary support contact. On April 25th, our solar system stopped generating power. Solar Edge's monitoring system promptly notified us of the failure. We contacted Mr. Santoyo, who swiftly identified the inverter as the issue and coordinated with Solar Edge to create case #4790153 around April 30th. Despite Solar Edge's establishment of an Enhanced Service group, their response was slow and mostly limited to emails. Mr. Santoyo continuously pushed for updates and kept us informed. By May 3rd, Mr. Santoyo informed us that the RMA service was approved, and a replacement inverter was expected to arrive by May 9th. However, due to delays from Solar Edge, the inverter did not arrive until May 21st. Mr. Santoyo persisted in ensuring we received the inverter, maintaining constant communication. Even after the delivery, it took nine more days for Solar Edge to send a technician from Sunnova to replace the inverter on May 30th. Unfortunately, the new inverter had issues communicating with the LG battery. Mr. Santoyo again took charge, working with Solar Edge to find a solution. It took 12 days for Solar Edge to respond with a fix, which required a complete system power cycle. Mr. Santoyo provided detailed instructions and a video to guide us through the process. Overall, it took Solar Edge 48 days to resolve the issue, causing us significant financial losses. We highly recommend consumers planning to purchase a solar system to carefully verify the quality of the products and the reputation of the service teams of both the component suppliers and the installation company. While we have been disappointed by the poor product quality and service from Solar Edge, we are grateful for Mr. Eduardo Santoyo's relentless support and exceptional service. We just wrapped up installation with NRG and our experience was brilliant. It is a long process - between personal research before reaching out, selecting NRG, design, permitting and installation - it takes a minute. All that being said, the experience was extremely smooth compared to stories I've heard and read about in general and with other vendors. When it came to the installation process specifically, we worked with Aracely and team and they were truly excellent. They were informative and collaborative in their approach. I'm always a fan of over-communication so the client knows what's going on, particularly with something that can be complicated like solar. The highlight for me was when the city inspector came out and let me know that the installation was one of the best he'd seen, so much so that he brought another inspector over to our property to look at the installation, highlighting the positives.

A $57K Solar System Disaster: Beware of Their Shoddy Service!

Poor communication among their teams led to a complete disaster with my solar system setup. I explicitly told them I needed to charge two EVs and power two ACs, which is why I upgraded from Powerwall 2 to 3. But the system they installed is utterly useless for that purpose. Instead, I ended up with a $57K system that's only good for powering light bulbs, a fridge, and the WiFi. Now, they have the nerve to ask for more money to fix their screw-up. Beware, once they have your money, they couldn't care less about you or any after-sale service!

Frankie Gutierrez is great!

He's been my point person at NRG. I just closed the deal but haven't had installation yet; so far, Frankie has been so communicative and knowledgeable, and I'm feel great about the plan we have in place!!

Excellent Design and Installation Experience

Worked with NRG for about 18 months while our house was going through a major remodel in Palos Verdes Estates. I found their design and installation process to be thorough, very good quality, and responsive. Numerous (difficult) reviews and permits required by our city with the HOA, Fire Dept, Building Dept, and Edison. There were some challenges, but our project was complex with 24 panels, 2 Tesla Power-Wall batteries, and the city being very picky about aesthetics. Overall, they did a very nice job, and I say that coming from a background in building construction and Electrical Engineering. I was impressed with the response times to deal with issues and the continued follow-up by Edward Rodriguez, our activation manager. We have a couple apps now showing system operational status and energy management from the panels and the batteries. Highly recommend!

Excellent Company

Aracely Lopez was my Installation Coordinator and did an excellent job. Aracely was very professional and personal. I was kept informed throughout the entire installation and questions were always immediately addressed. The Installation Crew was also excellent. They even matched paint to have the metal conduits match and blend with with my home.

GREAT EXPERIENCE

We recently had solar panels installed at our home by NRG Clean Power. It’s too soon to tell if our expectations of financial benefit from the use of these panels will happen so at this time we want to comment on the people who worked with us throughout the installation process. We had contact with a number of people at NRG but mostly we worked with Priscilla Cook and John Weigel. Both John and Priscilla are professional and knowledgeable and absolutely wonderful to work with. Throughout the process I constantly pestered Priscilla with questions. In each instance she responded promptly and with respect and with patience. I can’t say enough nice things about her. John was fantastic. He was always pleasant and, like Priscilla, was patient and respectful. He did his very best to help us understand the solar process and he spent extra time making sure that our electric panel worked properly. He considered what would be convenient for us with regard to the placement of the main service panel, and he made sure that everything was clean and neat before he left. We feel very fortunate that we were assigned to Priscilla and John.

Good Experience

NRG recently installed a solar set up for us. We are very pleased with the process. The communication with the company was excellent. All our questions were addressed promptly and thoroughly. Our installation coordinator, Aracely, was outstanding and very helpful.

Great Experience

I committed to NRG back in July, and the project was completed in December. The seemingly long timeline was mostly due to city permits, and inspection schedule. My contact, Gabriel Weizman kept me in the loop the entire way. Several times I had a question about the process, and Gabriel anticipated it and sent an email with the information I needed before I asked! And just the other day, long after my project was completed, I had a question and Gabriel got right back to me. I highly recommend NRG, and loved working with Gabriel.

The solar energy project was an incredible experience for my family and it was transformed into a wonderful adventure since we met NRG! Energy Sage guided us to pick a company that would fulfill our needs. With their advice, we selected NRG Clean Power. It was a very smooth process with NRG. They helped us download the NRG Clean Power app. The entire process went through several phases. Each phase had a manager who immediately connected with me by sending me an email and linking through the app. The manager sent us updates on their progress. Each manager sent us information, data, drawings, and updates. We had our solar system installed by Matthew Lamel and his installation team. The entire process was smooth and organized very well. Matt would send an email to let us know what would happen. He explained the process very well. I downloaded the NRG Clean Power app that showed us the progress that was being made. We had a new manager at every stage who guided us through the process. Matt also let me know when documents would be sent to us by mail and would be prepared and we kept a lookout for these documents. Matt sent us an email to inform us when the installation team was going to arrive and when the material was going to arrive. This gave us time to prepare. Everything took place on schedule. The installation team was professional, courteous, and very well-informed. Even the inspection by the City went very smoothly and the inspector was very pleased. We are very pleased with Matt and this team! Thank you very much, Matt!! We have had solar panels for almost a year without any issues. NRG contacts us regularly to check if everything is fine. It was such a wonderful experience

Our Neighbor referred us to NRG Clean Power and we are so happy she did. Amy Sweet (Energy Advisor) at NRG Clean Power has been very helpful, professional and responsive. She has provided us an estimate with details on the solar design. She answered all our questions and put us at ease on how the process would take place. It has been a pleasure having Amy help us transition to Solar. We are eager to move forward with the project and look forward to the installation. We have been searching for the right company for solar installation and have had few different companies give us price quote. Compare to other leading solar companies NRG Clean Power was much affordable. We have found NRG Clean Power easy to work with and upfront about the whole process.

Excellent Experience and Work

NRG was transparent and kept me updated throughout the solar installation process, from beginning to end. Aracely was knowledgeable, answering any questions I had. In a 2-day period I went from no solar to the solar system being installed completely, including configuring wireless access to view electricity generation now and over time (using the gateway). This was one of the company's recommended by LADWP when I went through their solar installation website. I appreciate the vetting of such a professional solar installation company.

Top-Notch Service

NRG was honest and communicative throughout this whole install process. It wasn't easy dealing with my county but they persevered and never left me wanting for information/status. Edward Rodriguez was a most excellent installation coordinator. He was very patient with my dumb questions and often updated me before the county's (allegedly) automated system did. The contractor they sent for the actual install was awesome, too. NRG is highly recommended from yours truly.

Slow and incompetent

NRG was only efficient at the sales portion. I had a cash purchase and i had to pay 90% upfront up to the stage of permitting. From that point onwards, that was when things syatt to get unpleasant. It took a few months to get an installation appointment. The installation representative lack responsiveness and I had to constantly be on their tail. The installation is fully outsourced to a contractor. The first day of the installation was a wash as the lift to the rooftop wasn't the right one. The hardware had to also be moved inside the garage as opposed to drawings which stated outside. That was resolved quickly and the installation went on. The nightmare started after the initial inspection process failed. The fix required was a simple smoke detector in the garage for the battery that linked with an auxiliary alarm inside the home. If the battery caught fire, the smoke alarm triggers and warns the people inside the house. This was apparently to complex for the NRG team sitting in the call center to understand. Things went back and forth between the NRG team, the contractor and the city inspector. It took probably 4 or 6 attempts to get things resolved. There were times when the city inspector showed up but the contractor wasn't present. On the last attempt, the NRG service rep came by instead, very pleasant gentleman and this time around, I intervened and provided specific instructions on what to do, and the inspection got through. It's been already more than 4 months into the installation process and I taught finally ita done. The service guy attempted to finally turn on the system, to my dismay, there was a problem in the hardware itself. So the usual back and forth a few times between the contractor and NRG. Then finally NRG decided to send over their best contractor and that gentlemen resolved it within 1 attempt. The Enphase hardware works well, I know I paid a lot for it but it's doing its job and I don't have any qualms on it. The outsourced contractors live on razor thin margins and they carry out the necessary work orders, I honestly didn't see any issue with any of the technicians who came by. I paid 90% cash upfront for the system, thats more than enough to cover NRG's cost and margin. The Enphae hardware works well. This leaves only NRG itself as the primary problem of this entire farce. Their remote team sitting in their comfortable offices gar away or maybe even working remotely from their bedroom was totally incompetent and unorganized. Turning back the clock, I could have found an independent contractor myself, saved tons of time in the process and money in the process as well. So either go with a provider who have their own installation team like Sunpower or Tesla; or find your own contractor. Don't waste time and money with big companies like NRG as you could well just be paying a lot more for incompetency.

Great experience with NRG (Solar+Battery System)

NRG Clean Power provided an incredible sales consultation, and was able to give me the most affordable quote for the solar system I've purchased. They are the only solar installer I know with the Price Match Guarantee, and they've honored it even after I've signed the contract. I'd definitely recommend them! My project just started, but so far I've found NRG to be very honest and trustworthy. Sales team, that I've worked with, Sabrina and Andrew are top professionals, very responsive, highly knowledgeable and were helpful throughout the entire purchasing process. I am extremely happy to have chosen them as an installer and will update this review as my project progresses, or should there be anything outside of positive along the way.

N-R-G did N-O-T disappoint!

After several home visits from solar cold-callers, and several proposals reviewed through energysage, I contacted NRG based on their price, warranty, and equipment offered. They weren't the cheapest, nor the most expensive, and from the first call I felt like I was dealing with a straightforward-no-BS energy partner. No fluffy solar sales jargon or hard selling, just fair and honest statement of facts and what they could and could not do. It was a no brainer for me to go with them. From there on, the experience was exceptional due to the team that supported and handled me along the way: from Sabrina Steinman, Shahar Broitman, Nicole Corona, to my project manager Aracely Lopez and I'm sure a few more I'm missing... the people and communication were what made the difference. Any question big or small from me, as well as frequent project updates and expectations were all handled timely and to my satisfaction. 100% would recommend them again, and though it may not be the same for everyone, I was delighted that the project was completed before the expected date I was originally given. Great value and overall experience with minor hiccups

As with most other solar companies, the sales team is amazing at explaining everything in hopes of getting your business. However, once I signed the contract, getting responses from NRG's sales team was very hit or miss. I had specifically ordered Panasonic all-black solar panels (EVPV370K) but instead, they delivered the black panels with white outlines (EVPV370). Contacting my original sales advisor was useless as there was no response. At this point, I decided to just move forward with it to not delay the installation since they were already bombarded with install requests to meet the NEM2.0 deadline. From there, everything was smooth sailing with the Project Manager, Rick, and the Permitting contact, Bill. No issues with getting my project correctly installed under NEM2.0 in California, which is a huge relief. The roof and solar contractors they hired were very professional and speedy. After the fact, speaking with their communications contact, Adrianna, was amazing. I had referred a few other friends to NRG and she made sure I was credited for it.

Amazing communication/speed and workmanship

The entire project from design/permit/installation/online (still waiting for PTO from PGE) within 2 months …. My project manager Matt L provided me regular status and updates and answered all my questions from ordering materials and delivery permit installation and access to monitor the syatem. The installation crew was very professional and installation took 1 day and they left no mess around. This is an awesome experience, and I look forward to use the system to help offset my electric bill. Highly recommend anyone to work with NRG.

Excellent experience

From the beginning to the end of my solar project NRG Clean power kept me informed. They came in at the most reasonable price and with excellent equipment. I have 15 REC panels and Enphase battery back up. The installers were amazing and had me up and running in only six hours. It was truly remarkable how efficient they were.

Overall great solar company to work with

I want to say that i would give the installation team lead by Matt a 5 star review. His team did an awesome job putting in the solar. I reseve 1 star due to the initial permitting phase. Nrg forgot one request for Edison which cause a massive delay of the project by close to 6 month, almost missing the Nem 2.0 requirment. The permit team did eventually get it corrected. Overall the communication with NRG representatives have been professional and responsive. I would definitely recommend them to others.
