Great experience
Would recommend this company! Had a terrific experience working with our solar specialist James Garbo. He was a joy to work with, had a great presentation, and answered our questions with patience and expertise. He knows his stuff! Would also like to give a shout-out to our instillation crew who were very professional and did a great job. Thanks Eric Hardee, Cody Seago, Eddy Stumatz, Josh Ener, Terrance Bibbins, Matt Gagoo,Matt Lucio and also Christian (sorry I didn’t get your last name) who came by the next day to paint the conduit o match the color of the house. You guys are fearless, I couldn’t get on the roof like you guys do for any amount of money! Can’t wait to get things turned on and to our part for the environment! Stay Away from Momentum Solar
I received three quotes from three other solar companies, and momentum Solar was the last quote. I didn't choose Momentum Solar because they kept trying to undersize the system. My requirements are for a 20 K watt system. First they tried to sell me on a 15 K watt system. Its a good thing I know a lot about electricity. I showed them my electric bill and stated that what I needed was closer to a 20 KW system. They came back with a second proposal and said it was for 19 KW system. When I reviewed the quote the system was only 48 panel 17 KW system. When I called them on it they said" Well with the angle of your roof the 17K system will produce 19 KW". They also wrongly stated that Ever source would deny me a net metering connection to the grid if my solar set up produced100% of my consumption in my particular area. I found out that was not a true statement. So instead I went with a more local reputable Solar company and signed an agreement. Their interest rate for financing was a 1 percent lower and they were honest, designed a 20KW system to deliver 102 percent of our electricity consumption. I immediately informed Momentum Solar that I was going with another solar company. Momentum solar called me back and blatantly lied and said that I had a contract with Momentum and tried to force me into going with Momentum. My recommendation would be to stay away from Momentum solar!! They are scammers and you would be better off finding a reputable Solar company thru energy sage, Like I did. I hope this helps out. Solar is a large investment and you really want a good reputable company to install and support your system. Good Luck!

I was referred to Momentum by a Church friend and thanks so much to Alex Olave on setting my appointment up to see if I qualify and thanks that he did! He made me feel so good and he was so professional, I felt like I'd known him forever, bless his soul. My field appointment with Dan Coman was even better because I found out that I qualified to go Solar, now my savings are so much better than what Con Ed was overcharging, thank you guys again!

Misleading, unprofessional, pushy salesperson; great panels
Read the full post, because this is information that will guide you into a $20,000+ decision. If you decide not to, then you’ve probably already made up your mind :) I found out about Momentum Solar through a Facebook advertisement. Just to learn more, I clicked the ad and provided my information. I was contacted by a representative who asked me if I could spare one hour of our time to speak with someone. I told them I would be able to talk with them in a few days. The online rep asked if my wife would be around, and I said they would not. They insisted my wife be part of the discussion -- at this point I knew I'd need to be careful and fully expected everything that followed. My wife and I met with the representative. They took the time to ask us what we knew about solar, and gave us some background on the company. The sales rep sent some information on our house to their analysis and technical team which resides in another state. While they were busy doing the analysis and cranking on the numbers, we continued to receive more and more information. At one point, we were giving the following fact: "The national average increase in electric costs per year is 4%". So let's remember this number. The team sent back a sales proposal based on analysis of our property. It was explained to me that they have spent millions of dollars to subscribe to regularly scheduled satellite photos of potential installation sites, as well as the software which looks at the imagery and calculates how much power can be produced based on the latitude, longitude, average weather, elevation, tree and brush coverage, height of the building, pitch of the roof, and other complicated factors. Very impressive and all quite true. The proposal listed the total system cost, expected power generation per year, cost for payments on a 20 year loan, date of return on investment (ROI), and showed how with the average increase of 4% per year, it would be a no-brainer to get solar. I was excited. By this point, he was talking to us a bit longer than the one hour promised. We had a commitment, and I explained we'd need to wrap things up. At that point, he thought the appropriate response would be to belittle us — he said, "if whatever you have to do is more important than saving money and being your own power producer then we can wrap things up." So yeah that was pretty aggravating. I explained I would perform my own analysis, learn a bit more about solar, and give him a call back. He insisted that anything I needed to know about solar, he could tell me, and it wouldn't be worth it to spend the time doing the research on my own. The financial feasibility depends on three important factors: (1) The cost of electricity and a year-over-year increase of 4% (2) Panels that aren’t too expensive. For example, you might get a panel that’s “very good†and costs a normal amount, then there’s another panel that’s marginally better than “very good†but costs much more. So I did my research and asked for different panels. (3) The loan is packaged in a way that doesn’t cause you to pay a lot in interest on top of the panels. The proposal was inaccurate. As a resident of Tampa, our power is supplied by TECO. Over the last decade, they have not had a significant rise in electric costs. As a matter of fact, power costs often go down, despite claims by the sales rep that “Duke Energy†is raising all of their costs. Here’s the thing — if they use multi-million dollar software to model costs, why can’t they model the rising costs of electricity for the area of their potential customers? Then it would be an apples to apples comparison. They questioned my numbers until I told them they were from the Department of Energy and TECOs own historical day. Asked why they don’t provide an apples-to-apples analysis, the sales rep stated they don’t have the time, manpower, or relationships with power companies to accomplish that. Seems like the likely answer is if they told customers what it really costs to have solar, they wouldn’t have so many customers. Long story short on how we made the numbers work — we got panels that were priced appropriately and did a 10-year lower interest loan instead of a 20-year high interest loan. Even with relatively stable electric costs, it works out to our benefit. The installation took six hours and happened within three weeks. The installers were unprofessional. One of the installers urinated in my backyard. The other promised to send pictures of the installation so I could submit it to my insurance company. Never happened. Another got dirt all over my ceiling access to the attic — we had to repaint it. As you can imagine, once the sales rep secures the sale, they basically become unreachable. What used to be a 30 minute response time to emails becomes three days. The panels do a great job of supplementing our power and I’m glad we have them. They cover about 90-95% of our annual power consumption and there’s a great website that provides lots of information. My recommendation would be to get solar, price it out, run the numbers, and stay away from Momentum.

I was really nervous about making such an important decision but they are wonderful. No matter who I dealt with, they answered all my questions. I called about one question and got an immediate response. Mr. Matamoros was exceptionally helpful. He explained everything in ways that left no doubts. He checked on me while the project was going up to make sure everything was going smoothly and that I understood every phase as it was happening.

Stellar job, no subcontractors
Momentum did not use subcontractors which was huge for me as I have had subcontractor nightmares for our tile job. My neighbors had subcontractors for their solar job and they had problems for weeks. Momentum solar does not use subcontractors and then crew was clean, polite and did a phenomenal job. In addition I have the best looking solar panels in town. No exposed wiring

Please find another solar installer-don't use Momentum
Fortunately the solar panels that I had installed on my roof are saving me some money but not as much as they initially promised. Saleswoman was quick to analyze my roof size and the number of panels that would be installed and the savings it would provide. We spoke for about an hour and my husband and I felt comfortable with her plan for our saving money. We signed an electronic agreement-WHICH SHOULD NEVER BE DONE-as it took me months to get a hard copy of it and it was not what I signed up for. In the end, solar panels were installed on 1/2 of my house yet the monthly payments (over 25 YEARS) were the same and the savings not as significant. Did battle with Momentum Solar but then had to plead with the solar company-Sunnova-to bring down my bill. In the end, Momentum Solar has a negative mark on them with Sunnova. Please pick your installers carefully!

EZ process and clean install, so HAPPY to be saving SO MUCH money! Others that say you don't save ARE TOTALLY WRONG, they probably went overboard on electricity usage after they got Solar, thank you again to Shawnay Slater from Customer Service and Dan Coman for helping us qualify in the first place!!!

So pleased with Momentum Solar
I have found Momentum Solar to be very professional and concerned with excellent customer service. The installers worked diligently to make the system the best it could be. The office kept every promise that was made. One mistake was made by one of the field personnel which caused the start-up of my system to be delayed. Momentum did more than I asked to resolve the issue completely. I only had a couple complaints during the entire process, I have no unresolved complaints and my system does everything they promised at the price quoted with no surprises. It’s difficult to find a trustworthy company these days bu tMomentum is the real deal. Use them with confidence!

They couldn't make it any easier!
My experience with Momentum Solar was a total joy. I understand that the time frame from the initial contact to the system going "live" went unusually quickly, which I attribute to the efficiency of the company. I first posted a general inquiry for solar energy information on a weekend in late February, and within two hours I received a phone call from Momentum's local representative, Julie Ferguson. We made an appointment to meet the next week, and before we parted I had signed up. At no time did I feel pressured or like I was getting a "hard sell." The installers of the system arrived the following week and completed installation very quickly. They even were receptive to my suggestion regarding the layout of the panels on the roof. By the end of March my solar system was up and running. Since then, my electric bills from my former power company have been just $10.58 per month, which simply covers the cost of staying connected with them in case of a catastrophe. What impresses me the most is that there were absolutely no up-front costs that I had to incur. They set me up with a 20-year financing plan, where the monthly fixed payment is about what I currently would be paying for conventional electricity - but the advantage is that this payment is fixed for the 20 years, while conventional costs would continue to escalate over time. Also, there is no pre-payment penalty if I pay off the loan early.

Original customer (# 5) stiil going strong and very happy!!
Experts, Professional and Reliable is how I would characterize the Momentum Solar people I dealt with at the time of the installation, several years back. And when I called them to get an opinion on a rooffing issue I was facing a couple of years ago, even though my question had nothing to do with the solar system, the company rep helped me and gave me useful and expert advice. Momentum has been a friend for life, Thank you!

Not As Expected
This company prices seem to be much higher than others. Moreover, the monthly costs increases each year. We were informed the price would remain unchanged after the installation was completed, we found out differently. We have friends whose home are much larger than ours and they are paying a lower monthly bill with their solar company. We checked with Momentum Solar to discuss a possible adjustment and was informed that was not possible. Strongly suggest you shop around... let the buyer be aware....

DON'T FALL FOR THIS SCAME READ THIS BEFORE YOU SIGN UP: MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE GETTING ENOUGH PANELS TO PRODUCE MORE THAN WHAT YOU CONSUME. FOR US, WE CONSUME 14,000KWH HOWEVER WE ONLY ARE GUARANTEED 9800KWH. SO, THE SYSTEM IS SET TO FAIL. YOU WILL WIND UP PAYING MORE BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO PAY SUNNOVA, AND YOU HAVE TO PAY JCP&L BECAUSE YOU DON'T PRODUCE ENOUGH TO COVER WHAT YOU CONSUME. ALSO, very poor CUSTOMER service, THE SALESMAN USES YOUR IGNORANCE TO SELL YOU INTO THE CONTRACT WHICH IS CONCRETE AND ONE SIDED (TO MOMENTUM/SUNNOVAS) ADVANTAGE.THEY LEAD TO BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL BE ABLE TO "SHOULDER" EXTRA KWH TO SAVE MONEY AND PRODUCE WHAT YOU CONSUME, THE SYSTEM SET UP WAS ERRONEOUSLY CALCULATED AND WE NEEDED ANOTHER PANEL. THE SYSTEM THEN WENT DOWN 2 TIMES. DURING THAT TIME YOU DO NOT GET CREDIT FOR WHAT YOU PRODUCE. THEREFORE WE HAD TO PAY SUNNOVA AND PAY $186 TO JCP&L. THEN, WE WERE TOLD THAT WE ARE OPERATING AT 89%. TO SUNNOVA THAT IS WORKING.HOWEVER THEY GAVE US THE OPTION TO PURCHASE MORE PANELS TO REACH 100%--AT OUR COST!!!!! SAVE YOUR MONEY or MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN PRODUCTION AND CONSUMPTION. MAKE SURE YOUR PANELS PRODUCE 100% TO COVER 100% OF YOUR CONSUMPTION!!!!

The cost of the roof was 1/2 of other quotes I had gotten and I am actually saving more than 50% on my electric bill.
