Love My New Solar System!

This company was very professional from start to finish with my solar project. I LOVE watching my electric meter literally run backwards all day long, even on partly cloudy days. Longhorn Solar truly cares about the community, and regularly donates to charities, and even individuals who can really be blessed by it, including local teachers. They also noticed hail damage while surveying my roof, and recommended a great roofing company, Birdcreek Roofing, to replace my roof through my insurance company prior to installation. I definitely recommend Longhorn Solar to anyone looking into solar energy.

Indepenence Day

Today is the 4th of July and I'm sitting at my kitchen counter having coffee with my Longhorn Subject Matter Expert, Ray Malkiewicz. Today is my independence day! I made the decision to go off the grid and move to 100% solar. Ray truly know his stuff and shares his wealth of knowledge freely and appreciate his style. He's an educator not a sales guy and that made the decision for me an easy one.

Got solar installed in March of 2017. This is one of the best decisions I took to go with longhorn solar. Not only they go above and beyond in explaining their quotes, they back that up with their service. No sales pressure and they absolutely answer all your questions. They gave me the cheapest quote between Solarcity and Vision solar het my system is performing reliably. Didnt pay a penny for electricity since I installed. Longhorn Solar was one of solar companies that I had interviewed. Carmen Franks was professional and knowledgeable. I had solar previously on my home in Las Vegas. I knew about how much kW of power I needed for my current home and their quote was close to what I wanted. I felt there was no pressure from Carmen at all. She was courteous and helpful at all times. She went above and beyond my expectations. The entire process was very with them. The solar panels were the brand I wanted and the service was excellent. Great Experience

I can't recommend these folks highly enough. Completely painless process. No BS in the estimate/bid process. Rather than try to sell me what they wanted to sell me, they sought to understand my needs, looked at my particular situation, and built their bid around what I actually needed. And the price was amazing for what I got, the best on a price/kW basis. The installation was fast, painless, and professional. A few other homes in my neighborhood have panels and it's apparent from just looking that Longhorn did the best job. They even painted the ducts to match the roof. It ended up being less than a month from initial visit to generating electricity (and most of that due to the HOA process). Just a great job and great people.

Performance exactly as predicted

I read dozens of reviews on this forum and others forums and one company and one specific name from that company kept appearing across numerous review websites. I knew who I wanted to talk to about solar. I saw one person's name come up more than anyone so I surprised him by walking into his office. I probably freaked him out but he was friendly and willing to drop what he was doing to answer my VERY specific questions. From that first unannounced visit up until today (a year later) this company and their Residential Solar Rep, Logan Bennett, have been spot on. System has overproduced from what I was promised. Its maintenance free and I get to sit back and see huge bill savings every single month. I never felt like I was being solar anything. It was much more like a listening session with Logan taking notes and then using my answers to build the system that I wanted. Longhorn Solar calls a few times a year to make sure I am still totally happy and Logan even stops by every couple months to say hi and check on our equipment to make certain our PV System is producing as promised. From HOA help to pre-installation communication to installation to every month since our installation last year, we are 100% satisfied with Longhorn Solar. If I could do it all over again, I would not have wasted any time talking with anyone else. This company truly cares about me remaining completely happy. I have never bought anything in my life where the SALES REP checks in on my every couple months to make sure that I am still happy. Don't know what else to say other than CALL this company. They are fantastic and truly care.

Buy Solar from Longhorn Solar! Professional company!

I got multiple bids from different companies and Logan from Longhorn Solar did the absolute best job of listening to what I wanted rather than just pitching what he wanted to sell me. Everything was explained to me as far as what to expect and it all panned out. Logan even referred me to someone who removed a tree that needed to come down. He went above and beyond the entire time which is why Longhorn earned my business. 1 other large local company only wanted to sell me 1 specific type of expensive panel but Longhorn Solar gave me choices and the pros and cons for each panel were clearly spelled out for me. HOA application was taken care of for me and the project was installed in 1 day. I hardly even noticed that they were outside installing solar! Since the system was commissioned, my bills are WAYYYYYY down which is fantastic. If I had to do it all over again, I would go with Longhorn again in a heartbeat. I highly recommend that you give Longhorn Solar a call. Logan will take care of you but I am sure whoever you talk to will make the process super easy as was done for me. GO SOLAR!

Installed and generating power

Very happy with our system and the installation was professional and exactly what we asked for. We had been sitting on the fence for about 5 years for solar waiting to find the right provider and system, Longhorn found us. Been 14 days and generated 800+ kwhs. Keep up the great work Stuart and KC!

Richardson Review

Friends used Longhorn and referred us to them for our solar panels system. Longhorn provides a turn key project and have various options for solar. Carmen presented us with all the roof top options (size, payment methods) and we arrived at a full offset size for our house and cash payment. The timeline was presented in detail. Longhorn took care of all the paperwork and I got HOA approval for the project. Everything went smoothly and we had all the approvals quickly. Longhorn installed the entire system in 1 day. Within a couple of weeks the final agreement with Oncor for production was complete and we started supplying power to our house and the grid! The project was completed ahead of schedule. SolarEdge app gives us all the details of our solar production every day and Longhorn can keep an eye on everything. Carmen trained us on the system and will swing by every few weeks to check on us and our panels! They provided a guarantee for the production amount that is about 85% of the estimated capacity so they stand behind their system. I highly recommend Carmen and Longhorn Solar for your installation. It is a local company so you get that personal touch and can count on dealing with the same great people whenever you need them (you can call a real person when you need something!) They work with all the local governments in Dallas area and transmission companies (Oncor and Garland P & L to name a couple) so they know how to get things done. I prefer that to a national brand. Great company here in Texas!

Longhorn Solar installed our panels and as soon as they were turn on our electric meter started going backwards! One month our Bill was $1.09!! Carmen, Stuart and their crew kept us informed through the process and insured we got all incentives possible.

Longhorn Solar was our 3rd consult, and the one we decided to go with. Bryan Kerr was an excellent representative that answered all of our questions, stayed in constant communication with us, and made us feel comfortable with our purchase. The installer team showed up in the midst of a freak Texas snow storm and begin install on the day scheduled to do so when the rest of the county had shut down. The installers were quick and came back daily until our system was a 100% go, ready to be turned on by the power company. We have been up for just over 2 months now and I am still in contact with Bryan, my rep, who takes the time to explain my bill to me each month. Logan Bennett promised to take care of all the details getting us up and running with our solar panels and he delivered. He helped us pick out a reasonably priced system sized perfectly for our home, worked with our HOA to see we were approved, walked us through dealing with the city to see we got the appropriate rebates and passed inspection for the final hook ups. Fantastic Work and Continued Follow Up from Longhorn

I will keep it short. Longhorn outworked every other company that gave us a solar proposal. They were clear that they wanted our business and were willing to work around the clock to earn it. As promised, everything about getting solar was a turnkey process. We were thrilled when the entire system was installed in one day. They actually completed everything in less than 50 days despite their proposal saying to please allow up to 120 days. The panels look fantastic (we were very skeptical about putting them on the front of our house) and we now wonder why we ever were concerned about have solar panels facing the street. Logan is an outstanding representative of the company writ large. He worked harder than reps from the other companies. He fully answered every question and did so on a granular level showing much more knowledge that reps from several other companies. We never felt one iota of sales pressure..only great information and a true willingness to help us get the best PV system to meet all of our goals. Our bills are WAYYYYY down and we have zero complains. Call Longhorn Solar or call Logan. Solar is affordable and if you do not have money to spend on a big solar installation then you can work with them to get a loan and swap out what you are already paying to your electric company then simply pay a fixed monthly price that will never go up. They designed the perfect system! 3. They outperform the other companies. If you're like me, you do your research. Longhorn checks out with flying colors. Even our electric provider Reliant Energy vouches for them.

New solar installation

The process of working with Longhorn Solar and Logan was very easy. There was never any pressure to purchase their products. Logan was very upfront on what different panels were available and provided the product sheets and cost differential between the different panels. The installation was very smooth and professional. We were able to discuss where we wanted the inverter to be located and came up with the best plan for the installation and still met all of the HOA requirements.

Amazing 5 Star Experience

My nickname is the “Recycling Queen” and adding solar panels to my roof makes me so proud! And, it couldn’t have been easier with Logan at Longhorn Solar. I certainly was aware of solar but had no idea what was involved and that, in the end, it’s actually affordable! I was approached by Premier Solar Solutions and decided to meet with them to learn what’s involved in adding solar to my home. What Premier told us sounded great and we signed up with 5 days to cancel if we changed our mind. There wasn’t much online about Premier so my husband gave a shout out on our neighborhood blog asking if anyone had gone solar and if they knew anything about Premier and boy are we glad we did that! Someone answered with a great review for Logan at Longhorn Solar along with Logan’s phone no. The next day I called Logan and I can’t express how happy I am for doing that. Logan met with us the very next day and not only did he beat Premier’s price by almost $10k but he also made it very clear that some of the information we were previously given was incorrect. Rather than talk bad about the other company he was very professional and simply showed up how to figure out the nuts and bolts of solar and how solar produces kilowatt hours. Not trashing the other company was very professional. Needless to say, we cancelled our contract and went with Longhorn and it was a remarkable decision. Our installation was an absolute breeze and took less than one day. Longhorn took care of everything….it truly was a turnkey process. I've always supported clean energy but never had my own house to even consider putting solar on. We recently bought a house in a great SW Austin neighborhood where many homes have solar (It is a micro-neighborhood in Circle C). While a few of the homes in our new hood got solar from another company, the vast majority of our neighbors have used the same company, Longhorn Solar, and have all reported great experiences. Logan meets with his customers every 6 months to go over the performance of the system for better or for worse. Longhorn Solar is great to work with

Carmen Franks was great to work with. She was very knowledgeable and could quickly answer all our questions and address our concerns. Even after the sales process was completed and we were in the installation phase, Carmen continued to be very responsive and helpful when additional questions / concerns / hiccups came up. (There can be (in fact with contractor / construction business, there usually will be) hiccups in the installation process, so you want a sales rep that understands your concerns and quickly addresses / resolves them...Carmen is that rep.) Carmen was also very good about finding a solution that best met our pricing requirements and production goals. She was quick to find rebates that made solar fit both. The only way we could be any happier would be if the system were free...but it's close enough. The monthly savings on our electric bill is greater than the payment on the system, which has a 25 year warranty. (And it will be paid for in a lot less than 25 years.)
