Review of Longhorn Solar sales and installation

Carmen is very knowledgeable about the solar panels used by Longhorn, the timeline in the installation, etc. When she does not have an answer for our questions (and we had a lot in our first meeting), she called her office right away to get an answer. She is prompt and get all the paper work ready in the second meeting. We were impressed by her attitude on her work. She really enjoys her work. After we signed on the dotted line, she has not forgotten us. She kept in contact with us about the installation. Jessica, though new to the job, is comfortable at what she is doing. She interacts well with us and jumped on opportunities to get us help from the office personnel. The installation took three days. All in all, it was a smooth process, though the installers did not show up on time. We figured that maybe something happened in the office, or they may have to pick up some parts for the installation. One thing I was impressed by the installers was that they are very courteous, and considerate. For example, the lead installer would remove his shoes before he entered our house as the lawn and the walkway were wet. He also cleaned up the closet floor after all is done as he has to work on the electrical box which is located inside the closet. They always knocked on the door before they entered the house even though the door was unlocked. Simply put, they are very professional. I have two issues with the installation (due to my own ignorance), I texted Carmen about the issues. She sent a service ticket right away each time and the issue was fixed (more like an explanation of why it happened each time) in the same day, including one that happened today (a gorgeous Saturday afternoon, sunny and warm). The office manager came within 30 minutes of my text message to Carmen and solved my issue. Even though the solar power installation is still awaiting for approval from Garland Utility five days after installation, we are very happy with this company and the services they provided. I will not hesitate to recommend this company to any people who are interested in solar power to save money and to help the environment.

Solar installation

Had a solar system installed by Longhorn Solar a few months ago and highly recommend them. They have a no pressure friendly approach, walking you through all the elements of the system, costs, payback and even which providers to use (only a few allow net metering) - all the info is provided to you in a full color binder for review and reference. We quoted a couple of other companies and neither was comparable on overall service or price. We have had for 3 full months now and electricity bills are down about 90% from prior levels!

Excellent transition to solar technology by Carmen Franks

Taking up solar energy in my house was a big decision and scary to myself. I was hesitant with the many sales people who kept it cloudy "no pun intended" in their explanations and did not know how to customize the solution to suit my needs, Carmen Franks was very clear and helped me to put the right solution and helped me ease into this big step. She was updating me with each step, helping along the way with documentation and how to handle various agencies. I'm very comfortable with this and its benefits to me and my family. November Install 12.9KW

Just installed. No problems so far. The panels and optimizers and inverters are working. Waiting on city inspection and power company inspection before activation. Great install by Longhorn Solar team. Got a very good price in $/W. Good people with years of experience. They know what they are doing. I know I am a very picky customer asking for this and that. They were and are very accommodating and always available for communication. Good work by sales person Carmen and GM Francisco and operations manager Ernest. I had gone through 3 quotes before I finally got a quote from Longhorn. And there was significant difference between the quotes in terms of price and knowledge and experience. What helped is a neighbor who had theirs installed through Longhorn Solar. I also had to undergo a learning curve to understand the technological differences and advantage and disadvantage of each inverter technique. I had fun learning and am now a happy and satisfied customer.

Great Local provider of Solar!

Ray was fantastic and patient through the whole process. He's explained to us all the ins and outs of the industry, the equipment and the various rebates (federal and oncor). He also gave us a very reasonable and realistic bid that gave me confidence to go with LongHorn Solar versus many other competitors.

Carmen Franks was the representative who worked with us. She was extremely helpful with all phases of the installation. When we had additional questions, Carmen answered them or followed up with us after checking for the answers with others. She was easily accessible on her cell phone, even after installation was complete and energy was being produced.

Informative, helpful analysis, timely and seamless installation

We began looking into adding solar panels to our home for several benefits: independence in energy production, cleaner and better for the environment, long term cost savings. As we interviewed several companies, Bryan Kerr provided us with detailed and custom data specific to our needs, short term insights as well as long term in regard to costs and expenses, and multiple options. We felt no sales pressure at any point -- just well informed. From there, the installation was not only seamless and timely, but was all taken care of without and "check ins" to make sure the company was doing everything in order. It was by far the easiest contractor experience we have ever had. The icing on top was Bryan's check ins to make sure we were happy with the solar panels as well as an analysis of our production and usage. A year after the initial install, we added 6 panels to increase productivity when we installed a pool. Again, Bryan was informative, not pushy, and his recommendation for the 6 panels to compensate for the new usage was spot on. It was already great customer service, but the additional check-in with our usage after the additional panel installation made it the best.

Raymond with Longhorn Solar is amazing!

We have had nothing but positive things to say about our experience getting solar. Ray is very informative and held our hand through the entire process.He knows his stuff! We were apprehensive about getting solar in the beginning, but he really opened our eyes to the positives of having it and also at an affordable cost. I would HIGHLY recommend getting solar!

Great experience

I wanted to highly recommend Longhorn Solar for anyone who is considering solar panel installation. Louis, the owner, came out personally to walk us through his very thorough proposal, which included drawings, spec sheets, costs, payback analysis, etc, all based on a few simple questions and a couple of prior electricity bills. He clearly explained the process, timeline and even which providers allow "net metering", allowing you to sell back electricity that you produce but do not consume...you will be surprised how few have this service. He and his team kept in regular contact on HOA approvals and town permits and throughout the installation process. I even love the app on my phone that shows exactly what my system is producing at various points in the day.

It really works!

Longhorn solar is an outstanding company and exceeded my expectations on the installation and ease of the entire process. Installation was fast. All of the paperwork was handled on my phone. They kept me in the loop on everything. One thing I will say is to make sure and get on a solar plan with which ever electric company you choose to go with. Otherwise, you won't be getting the full benefit of the system and you will essentially be donating electricity to the electric company. Since I switched I have not had an electric bill and have actually maintained a credit to my account by over producing. Carmen and Stuart were who I dealt with and they were very helpful.

I started a remodel in Marble Falls,Tx and it turned into a total rebuild. Money was more than tight. Longhorn Solar provided a professional team approach from first call, home visit, defined time frames, installation and follow up. Even coming back out to my home to provide me with tax information that could easily of been sent in the mail. The installation team was in and out, without any trash or damage to my property. A+++ rating. The meter is easy to read and easily reflected on my PEC statements. Longhorn Solar provided everything they promised they would.

Amazing service!

I spoke with several solar companies as we were firmly converting to solar. Carmen Franks is professional, knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Fast efficient and thorough

Carmen Franks is amazing to do business with. She stays with you long after the install is complete. The install on our large system was completed in one day even with rain. The gentleman were professional and cleaned up after they were done. It is awesome to think that before long we will be living without a utility payment. Once the financing is paid we are free! Also there financing was painless.

Great Crew !

Our system was up and running in February of 2017. Longhorn was the first company I contacted and it was painfully hard to sit through two other sales presentations from other companies. I did my own homework about solar and I had my questions and concerns. Bryan Kerr provided a comprehensive presentation of their solar products and answered my questions in a clear and concise manner. Bryan has followed up several times to check in and see the results of his good work and our satisfaction. The install crew completed the job in one day as it was promised. My money was well spent with company.

As good as it gets

We had two companies to look at for solar, we went with Longhorn Solar as they were local and support the community. The other company wanted to add on thing that had nothing to do with solar production, LED lights, attic fans, etc this just seemed to add to the cost. Raymond Malkiewicz our account manager helped us understand that while the other add on would help with the homes effeciency, we could do most of that later. Raymond was also former military as we are and we wanted to support out military family.

Awesome job!!! 17.7 kW (59 panels) for my solar system - installation team was here at 7am and done by 1:30pm, electrician took a couple more hours by all was done before 4pm. As soon as it was turned on my power meter started running backwards...loving this system. Now waiting to see those electric bills.

New technology, old school customer service

You just don't find companies like Longhorn Solar anymore. I cannot more highly recommend getting solar panels, and there is no one better to get them from than Longhorn Solar. The quote/contact/financing process was simple and thoroughly explained. I never felt any pressure or urgency from them to close the deal. They understand the kind of investment you're making and give you the time needed to weigh your options. They were able to design a system that will offset 97% of my electric use annually at a price that's $2 higher than my average electric bill. That works out to free solar panels in my mind since I was going to pay the electric bill every month (and the average would likely go up over time with increasing electric rates). When it came time for install, they got to my house at 10am and by 5pm I was generating electricity! Now I can sit back and watch my electric bill disappear and know that I'm locked in to a low monthly price for my panels.
