Kosmos Solar

They took my money and made promises they had no intention of keeping. They no longer even answer their phone. All of their customers are SOL.

Unable to reach anyone when I call for the last two weeks. I have one of two inverters with a fault and not producing nor charging the backup battery we have and every time I call I end up going to voicemail. Customer service used to be quick and responsive. Now no one is responding. Internet searches say the company is still in business, but not sure that is true at this point. If Kosmos reads reviews, it would be great to get a call back.

Solar panels were professionally installed in 2021 and we recently encountered an issue and the Operations Manager, Craig Thrush for becoming involved in resolving our issue.

Jonathan Moretsky did a great job explaining every detail about how solar energy works. He is extremely respectful, patient, and worked with us until we agreed on the terms. He even made several calls about the details of the panel placement. We look further to working with our project manager as well.

I had a wonderful experience with kosmos. As a newbee in solar had no idea how any of this works. I had a gentleman came in, named Perry , he was so wonderful, courteous, knowledgeable and patient. He took the time to explain all pros and cons, remain completely honest with explaining, giving estimate etc. Overall it is a reliable company with wonderful people. I absolutely recommend them to everyone looking to switch or even to get a quote with them.

If you don't want to read my novella, I'll summarize. Call Kosmos. First off I don't do reviews often so the fact I'm sitting here writing this novel says a lot. But do to my endless research not yielding a lot of satisfactory (comprehensive?) reviews for companies, I thought I'd help cut through the fog of it all. I'll start by saying my wife is a Marketing Executive who deals a lot with social media and many review platforms. She was impressed that Kosmos had managed to maintain a high 4.x star review rating on Google, Facebook and a few others during our search for a solar company. That is hard for any company to do as all anyone really wants to do, is complain. Solar wasn't an easy decision for me and my wife to make, for lots of reasons. There are so many things to consider. I am a data driven perfectionist with a bit of OCD to boot. For the average consumer solar can be a bit complex with a lot of variables. These guys know what they are doing, and will walk you through it. They will get as technical as you want or as simple as you need. (Thanks Charlie, who was patient enough to stay at our home answering questions till 8pm away from his family.) They will handle everything from the city, your HOA, inspection, installation, monitoring, and service. What about the quality of the workmanship for the installation? Come on man, their electrician is as OCD as I am, and his attention to detail is amazing. I watched this guy pull wire from the attic to the utility. The exterior conduit was tight to the house bends were perfect and the connections inside the inverter were perfectly tidy. Exactly the way I would have done it. (He was an extremely cool dude as well. The whole crew was friendly and approachable.) The guys on the roof doing the panels? Exactly the same. I went into the attic to see if any anchors missed the rafters...NONE. All the wiring is routed through the attic. You will not see any conduit on your roof looking all tacky running over the peaks and over your gutters. (I've seen homes like this, no bueno.) All the wiring was run through the attic, properly routed and shielded, and out through a soffit. I live in a two story making this necessary. You want integrity? Yup, they got that too. While doing the install over two days the guys on the roof had started to damage a few shingles in one spot. Totally understandable as the amount of work they were doing, It was unavoidable where they had to gain access to the roof, and I'm sure it's not common. Kevin the owner, had stopped by to assess the install and brought it to my attention on day two of the install, and had already made arrangements to have it repaired. A crew came out within a few days and it was repaired with matching shingles. I would never been the wiser had they not told me about it. Service? Mike is all over everything in that office. They do not install your panels and disappear. Call them.

Davis and Rolando of Kosmos Solar did a difficult job for me. I was very impressed with their competence, professionalism, and courtesy. But mostly, I was impressed how they took no shortcuts to make sure that it was not only done right, but that it looked good -- even though doing so was alot harder. I would absolutely use this company again.

Kosmos Solar team has installed my system back in 2017. I love my solar system. It's producing a little more than what they told me it would. My bill was $250. Now I have -$150!

I worked with Ben initially to come up with a design. We worked together to determine was was best for me. He’s honest, straight forward, and it was a pleasure to work with him. It was also pleasant working with the rest of the team - the electricians, installers, Kevin, and some others. Communication was great as well, which is vital for a process like this. They are experienced, friendly, willing to answer any question, and do what it takes to execute a clean install resulting in a satisfied customer. Some consider me pretty critical, I consider myself easy going. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Either way, they pass the test of being a legitimate solar installer. I highly recommend considering kosmos for your solar needs if you are in the market. Thanks everyone at Kosmos, especially Ben for putting up with me!

Well organized company with good price of installation

I worked with Joe to design a system for my needs and he was able to maximize the system to not only replace the energy i was using but in most cases produce more than i was using. Even on a partly cloudy day i have been netting 25-50% above my energy usage! Installation was painless and Kosmos even threw in a free EcoBee thermostat and $100 worth of LED light bulbs. I like kosmos because they're local and use panels manufactured in Texas. Highly recommended!

Had a few concerns with different representatives but Kevin fix every thing and I was taken care.

I have been considering adding solar panels to the roof of our home for several years as a way to lock in our energy cost as electrical rates continue to increase with higher demand due to the influx of people moving to north Texas. Now is the perfect time for taking advantage of the federal tax credits and local rebates being offered to go solar along with the development of more efficient solar panels at lower cost. Joe Cotter at Kosmos Solar was extremely helpful in answering all of our questions and designing a system that was suitable for our electrical usage and within our budget. He is very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable about the many facets of solar energy production and the equipment involved. Finding a reputable and certified company like Kosmos that is local to north Texas was a blessing. Their staff know solar inside and out and handle everything from HOA approval, city permitting, designing and installing the system, and monitoring its operation after the sale. You won’t find a better small company to help you go solar. Contact them today before the federal tax credits and local rebates expire in the near future.

Good Company with skills people

Just got solar installed on my house and I'm very please with the result. The owner Kevin was honest from the start and answers all of my questions and concern. His guys are polite and professional installer. I would recommend Kosmo Solar to my family and friends.

They were very communicative and helpful at each step of the process. From sales to the final inspections, everything went well. I wish I had specified EMT instead of the sealtite flex that was used. The install went so fast that it was already done before I saw it. Not a big deal but EMT would have given a cleaner appearance to the install.

When they put the foam in our bill John $130. The new HVAC (trane) took off around another $40 and when they installed the small solar system 3.1kw we saw another $30-$40 decrease. All in our bill went from 350 to 120 in 2 months. Of the 4 companies that came out Kosmos had the best combination of price and products. Would defiantly reccomend. STEVE WHITE

Kosmos Solar made the solar purchase so much easy. I have talked to other solar installers in town. Seemed like Kosmos was giving the most honest and accurate answers. I had a lot of technical questions about solar. And they sure know what they are doing. Now our meter is going backwards. Now that, is priceless!

A Native American shedding a tear as he sits atop his horse overlooking a trash-filled field. Those were the images that would be familiar to anyone who grew up in the 1960's and 1970's. Keeping the environment clean and as free from fossil fuel as possible has always been important to me. I dreamed of a world with clean air to breathe and clean land on which to roam. I feel that having solar panels installed on my house has given my little corner of the earth a giant leap forward. Kosmos Solar has made this a possibility for me. Rene Le Bel and Kevin Seok were instrumental in completing this project. They showed huge amounts of patience in answering a seemingly endless amount of questions. From filing all the permits to installing the system to following up with loads of information to get connected with our electric company, Rene and Kevin "held my hand", from beginning to end, so that I would know what to expect from each action every step of the way. The crew who installed the system were equally friendly, polite, and quick, when it came to getting the panels installed. Kosmos Solar has made this experience easy and painless. The AP system that was installed on my home was done by an excellent technical team. Each step of installation was done with strict quality controls. The system was completed in two days and when the switch was turned on everything began to work as programmed. The electric meter began to run backwards in minutes. A monitoring system was also set up on our home computer and the I-Pad. Kosmos Solar made the installation process interesting and educational and we will provide all information to all our friends.
