We had been looking to add solar to our home for a few years and I received several bids or had contact with several different companies to include King Solar. Mark with King Solar took the time to explain every question we had so we understood what was involved and he made sure he understood what our goals were and what we hoped to accomplish. There was a clear difference in the attention to detail and customer service we received with King Solar compared to others. When the time came for the install King Solar went above and beyond to make sure we accomplished our goals with the system that was installed. The crew showed up on time and communicated when they would be there and what they needed access to. Everyone at King Solar we dealt with was professional and courteous. Everyone was very professional, but most important was that they let me know what was happening or not happening each step of the way. I had checked with another company but then Gayle Funk told me that her father had put a system in the house that they now live in and that it still works fine (since 1988).

King Solar has an excellent crew with an excellent product. All the paperwork and fuss of having a system set up with the local utility was handled on their side. The system was in place in a morning's work, and all inspection clearances were also handled by King Solar. I signed paperwork and stood outside watching the system go up on my roof and cheering all the while. I can monitor the system's functioning online, as can the folks at King Solar; any trouble-shooting will be a quick affair in regard to communication. As we move into summer, I will begin to really reap the rewards and am very pleased with this upwardly mobile company.

I heard about King Solar on NPR-KMUW and thought "What the heck? I'm going to give them a call." Instead I sent an email and got a response back the next morning. Mark-owner contacted me and was very polite and patient to answer all of the questions I had at the time. We emailed back and forth once or twice and then decided to dig just a little deeper into the possibilities. I sent Mark a record of our electric bills for the past several months and "Wa-La" the next day I had an estimate for how much energy we could produce, how many panels we would use and even a photo of our actual house with the panels superimposed over the roof. Perfect. The coolest part, we could supply our house and my shop with all of our electrical needs via solar. From that point on... I was "in." King Solar did the rest. They competed all legal filings with the utility company, came out when they said they would and completed the job on time, on budget and will monitor it for the life of the system. It's still all new, but at this juncture.. we couldn't be happier. King Solar is an exceptional small company. If they ever go public, I'll invest. Kinda picked them out of the blue without knowing much about them but when talking to Mark, it wasn't like he was trying to "sell" to you. Other companies that I had talked to seem to push you. Glad I chose them. Very happy with their work. Only thing is that I wish they were close by. But that didn't seem to stop them from doing a "timely" job and I'm sure that if I have problems, they will be here.

Being a physics and chemistry teacher, I was looking for a chance to reduce my carbon footprint and save money at the same time. I had Mark and King Solar do the instillation of a 22 panel system on my shop. I have easily saved at least 50% on my electricity bills which equates to about a 10% return on my investment.

Mark Horst made me a Schletter ground mount system. It is simply classy and something i am very proud of. Theres not many times a guy makes a bid and over-produces your expectations. I am sooooo happy with my system! Mark travelled and was so professional when working with me. I will say he is just great. He knows his stuff and i think you get the point. Mark Horst is great!

Mark Horst is incredible! I have installed many solar panels and yet i will pay for his experience and expertise. He was just class act and fair as possible very first bid. I asked for a few specials and he found specific roof connections, an inverter with room to add batteries and the setup was well executed. If Mark will come to your area, hire him. Period.

My wife and I purchased four KING SOLAR flexible solar panels and mounted them on the pergola of our chalet in St. Martin, FWI. They feed an amazing flow of power into eight 6-volt batteries and our inverter/charger. We have been both surprised and pleased at the amount of power they produce. During the day they recharge the batteries. In the evenings we draw power from the batteries for light and our electric ceiling fan. But they are recharged the next day. On cloudy days we supplement their power with a small propane generator. The panels are light-weight and easy for us to manage, move, setup, and store. We consider them a real value and are pleased with our purchase. The service provided by the KING SOLAR staff has been exceptional, swift, friendly, and helpful. Paul Dietterich

Mike and his team were professional, prompt, and extremely helpful in explaining the setup and deployment of our rooftop solar panels. They also showed up to do the installation as promised and completed the entire project on time and on budget. If you want to install solar panels on your home or business, this is definitely the company you want to have do it. I give them my highest recommendation, and I am not that easy to please.

King Solar did a very good job installing my free standing 4K system. From estimating the size I needed to drawing out the excavation pattern to helping me install the concrete foundation to letting me help in the paneo assembly to checking the system to making sure it was functioning correctly. They quickly responded to my text messages and phone calls and I would recommend them.

King Solar (KS) was the most professional group that bid our project, and I am glad I went with them. Everything was at or above the level expected with the exception of some follow-up issues with the rural electric cooperative (REC). The REC mis-communicated how the metering would work based on my needs, and I had some significant, unexpected costs as a result. This was not entirely KS’s issue, but my understanding was the installation to power-up was a turnkey solution. I expected they would own installation through completion which was not the case as I had to battle it out the REC, solo. I really expected KS to understand what I needed and work/intervene to make that happen. To be fair, I am not sure KS’s interaction would have changed the end result, but I would have looked at this differently had they tried. If I had another solar project, I would certainly put it out to bid and consider others, but KS would have a leg up. The performance of the product is at the level expected after two months.

Two years after our solar installation by King Solar, we have offset 11.2 tons (yes, tons) of carbon, and generated 16.2 MWh of power, enough to power 534 houses for a day. We anticipate payback in just under 10 years at current electrical rates. Our only cost - a monthly tie-in fee. King Solar embraces a business model that brings a high degree of technical experience and competence accompanied by excellent customer service and accommodation. King Solar worked closely with us to determine our energy needs, and to locate and install the panels for optimum power. They have continued to stay in touch, which we appreciate. The fun part now is the connection to enphase. We can, at any moment of the day, observe our panels in action!

King Solar's service in working with the local electric company (Westar) and the details of installation were great. The system has worked so well since then that there hasn't been the need for additional work. It has certainly been great to get those electric bills that include no charge for use of electricity!

After we decided to get solar PV, Mark was prompt about installation. He explained it completely to me and the system is doing everything he said it would do! We generate almost all of the electricity we use and it's been VERY rewarding. I highly recommend Mark's work!

Our system is somewhat shaded by our own trees, but Nick and Mark made me very aware of the implications to the output of the system and we chose to proceed anyway. We could not be happier with our decision.
