Ion Solar was the best choice I could have made to go Solar. From the start of the process of the representative (Clay George) coming to my house to give me all the info I needed to feel comfortable making the switch to Solar, to the installers, and final inspectors, everyone was very professional, and knowledgeable. While waiting for the installation I was kept informed of all delays dealing with approvals for the install, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend Ion to anyone wanting to go solar.

The whole experience with ION has been a good one so far.

CANCELLATION AFTER 2 DAYS OF THIS CONTRACT

On or around 12/19/24 as that is the date on this contract. A salesman named Justin Sivill came to my home representing ION Solar who happens to be my cousin Cynthia Sivill's son. AFTER he gave me his SALES PITCH, Justin told me to contact him, PERSONALLY, if I should have any problems. NOW...I KNOW WHY HE DIDN'T WANT ME TO CALL ION SOLAR MYSELF TO CANCEL THIS MESS!!! AFTER 2 DAYS I texted Justin letting him KNOW that I'd have to CANCEL THIS CONTRACT!!! He didn't respond to my text or call ON THAT DAY, so I texted him, AGAIN, saying, "Why aren't you returning my messaged Mr. Justin, with NO RESPONSE ONCE AGAIN? AFTER I saw that Justin wasn't responding to any of my messages, I TEXTED his mother with my concerns, Cynthia Sivill, as I was feeling that SOMETHING IN THIS BUTTERMILK ISN'T RIGHT!!! He was telling and selling me ALL OF THESE LIES...IN OVERDRIVE!!! When he, FINALLY, texted me back he claimed that he was in the mountains and would call me back as he couldn't receive ANY MESSAGES out there. He text me saying that MY CONTRACT IS CANCELLED as he was UPSET with me because I texted his mother asking her to intercede in this situation as I WAS GETTING, VERY, ANGRY! NOW, I find out that ION Solar is trying to charge me $1500 for cancelling this contract as the cancellation date had expired by the time he responded to ALL of my my messages!!! If Justin Sivill's had've cancelled this contract when I let him know that I couldn't go through with this and I'm on SSDI, which he was aware of as well. IF I WAS ABLE TO GIVE NO STARS ON THIS REVIEW AT ALL I WOULDN'T HAVE meaning that they have some FILTHY SALES PEOPLE WORKING FOR THEM, WHO GAVE ME A DISCOUNT THAT HE WASN'T SUPPOSED TO HAVE GIVEN ME DUE TO ME LIVING IN A TOWNHOUSE, I WOULDN'T!!! Justin Sivill and ION Solar are CROOKS who have CROOKS selling their products and making sure that FAMILY/CUSTOMERS contracts ARE NOT CANCELLED so that it goes OVER the 3 day cancellation period, INTENTIONALLY, as they're telling and selling LIES!!! I realize that some of these stars is given BEFORE so called installation, but this is soo, VERY, CROOKED AND SNEAKY!!! I would, REALLY, appreciate it if this message would get to the corporate office as I'd like to speak with the president...if I can!!! THIS IS WRONG!!!

Excellent service with Ion! John Goddard and the whole team, made it super fast and answered all the questions. Got the panels on now, super excited.

I had a fantastic experience with ION Solar! The installation process was seamless, and the crew was professional and efficient. Our sales rep, Sean Peterson, was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. He answered all of our questions and made the entire process stress-free. I highly recommend ION Solar to anyone considering solar panels.

Don't Care about Customer

After waiting 3 months, it is now apparent that the system will not generate anything between Oct 15, and about Feb 15, because it faces North. I guess their "engineers" cannot look at an almanac and do vector algebra. They also cannot play well with city authorities, otherwise they would have asked for a variance to fix this situation. But that would have required them to actually "engineer" and find the problem ahead of time. All they do is slap pictures onto a picture of a roof. ION is not interested in what the customer has to say, they will not allow any input, and do not ask-they tell the customer what he can do for them. There are no pre-install meetings, no progress meetings, and I never met the project manager. The salesman showed up once, and was not interested enough in my text comments to come back and meet me. There was not one single point of contact-anyone and everyone uses a common e-mail address about anything they'rre working on. They don't provide any help getting on line, or using the tool. They don't do after install follow up. This is a slam bam thank you ma'am outfit, and you are on the hook for at least 10% the minute the contract is signed. Run them off if they show up. Otherwise you are stuck with a system that will never pay for itself.

Great Service

Had a great experience with the whole ION team. Able to reach my contact person easily with questions. Product installation went smoothly and looks great after installation. The workers on site were very respectful of my property. Lots of information given on the panels and system. As well as finance options. Great customer service and I really appreciated the communication through out the process.

Solar Install

Ion was on time and very professional. Their team made it very easy and communicated throughout the whole process. I was informed multiple ways as we progressed through each step. My direct sales rep was Hadley Ferrell but their whole team was like this. Highly recommend Ion!!!!

Have nothing but great things to say about my experience with Ion solar from the beginning to the end.Christopher was great he answered all the questions that I and my brother had. ION Solar kept me in the loop on each stage of the process,they we on time,and professional, the employees,were very friendly and professional..The financial institution end of the process could use some work as the woman who called seemed to be put off by some of my questions and understanding of the words she was using,not everyone works and understands financial terms and words and she seems to be reading off a script, she needs to be a bit more personal.

Not worth it

Do not choose ION solar. They will boast about their BBB rating but if you take a close look their rating has been steadily decline and their are numerous complaints on the BBB website. Don't make the mistake we did and believe the positive ratings, they are all false. We bought a solar system from ION not fully realizing what we got ourselves into. They locked us into a contract (sections of the contract attached) then installed an inferior system that barely produces the energy our home needs. Contacting ION is next to impossible as they rarely respond to emails and when you call and finally get someone they will promise to call you back but never do. Then we were told we had to purchase additional panels and batteries at almost double the cost of what we were originally charged in order to meet our energy consumption needs. So now we're $40k in the hole with a useless solar system. There are much better solar companies out there who will not try to rip you off. We had solar in NY with Momentum Solar which was a much better and more transparent experience.

Panels Not Installed as Promised

My roof slopes north. Panels are flat on the roof. We told Sebastian that we were not interested in an installation unless the panels were mounted so that they faced south. We are not happy at this time because we have sent emails and filled out surveys indicating we are not happy and have not heard once from ION acknowledging that you have recognized that there is a problem.

Great experience for installation

The install was very smooth and went quickly. They have kept us updated throughout the process so appreciated that. Just waiting on city inspection.

Absolutely amazing experience

I don’t often write reviews, but I really wanted to write one regarding this experience. I had the most amazing opportunity to work with ION Solar for my home solar needs. I had been searching for a solar solution for a couple years, I even went through several in home experiences, if experiences is the right way to say it. This experience was absolutely fantastic. I got to work with Sonja Gumber who absolutely blew me away. The explanation of the process, before, during and after was super easy. I have had both a couple concerns and questions after the installation was complete and Sonja was extremely quick to respond and got together pieces needs to fix an issue quickly and in a manner that there was no impact to my home. The issue ended up being my home builder but the tech that came out was super nice about it and checked to make sure everything was working as intended. If you want to go with a company that is going to do the absolutely best by you and your family, then go with ION Solar. If you want someone who will take a personal approach and make your conversations, help and explanations amazing, choose Sonja Gumber Overall I would rate this much higher than that of a 5 star review, but that isn’t an option.

Avoid them!

Stay Away From This Company! We decided to use Ion Solar to have solar panels installed. We did so even though past reviews were not good, but with new administration we thought we'd give them a shot. Things started off well, we were approved quickly by their preferred lender, about 5 months ago. Regular progress updates were provided and customer service was good. Things changed quickly however. Updates became more sporadic, as did project progress. Customer service was nearly non-existent even we repeatedly contacted them and asked about the project. Two days ago, their preferred lender notified us that our financing had been canceled. Apparently the project had taken too long and not shown enough progress so that they could begin billing us. When I notified Ion Solar of this and said since the project funding had been canceled the project was over, they charged us a $3500 cancelation fee. I don't know whether the project failed due to their total ineptitude or there were some darker reasons. Maybe its part of their business model?

Everything went smoothly as expected

We recently moved into a brand new home and as is typical with any home purchase, we were quickly overwhelmed by multiple businesses vying for our attention. When it came to ION, I was looking to learn more about solar panels, especially since our previous state wasn’t suitable for them due to location and weather condition. Initially purchasing solar panels wasn’t a priority for us; however, after speaking with Brandon, we decided to move forward with The purchased on the same day as our appointment. Brandon’s extensive knowledge of the product was incredibly informative and he went above and beyond to explain how our specific household will benefit from the solar panel. His exceptional interpersonal skill made the entire process much easier to understand. The excellent customer service continued even after the purchase, with ION Representatives providing regular updates throughout the process. Brandon also followed up after each step to ensure everything was going smoothly.

Complete Scam!!!

DO NOT CHOOSE ION. THEY WILL SCAM YOU!!! In their contract it states they will make a "Good Faith Estimate" which the contract also states as no guarantee. They will low ball your estimate, work quickly to get you to PTO (permission to operate) from your utility company, then ghost you like a one night stand. After a month or so after PTO you will then realize the system production is no way near what you need for your home and at this point it's too late to turn back. If you do eventually get in touch with someone from ION they will try convincing you to purchase more equipment at double the cost to meet your energy consumption needs. A COMPLETE SCAM. BUYER BEWARE!!!

Careful what you sign up for.

The install was fantastic but once the install was complete the service has been nothing but problems. It seems that everything they do has built in delays and a lack of interest in actually helping customers. When I purchased the system I was told I could add batteries at a later time. A few years later I call and ask for a quote. About a month later I get a message that they do not do expansions on systems and only do new installs. Another incident - our system went out. We call for support. After prepaying for a tech to come and check out the system, a payment process that delays things a week, and another week or so wait, they call and set an appointment 2 weeks out. A month without the system and the tech shows up and does the repair. Recently we had a panel damaged in a storm. We call and again prepay for service that does not show up for a few weeks. The identify the damaged panel and have us prepay for a new one. Again, weeks later we are still waiting for them to "find a compatible panel." The practice of pay in advance, wait weeks to set up an appointment weeks out and selling products they don't even have in stock or access too seems to me to border on fraud.

Courteous installation

Our team was great! They we're early to our install, well mannered. They had to get in our attic to do something and installation fell out. They offered to get their vacuum to clean it up. I had to vacuum anyway so I did it but they came prepared! Very friendly, answered all questions. Recommend 110%

Great communication and the level of the work looks amazing. We are extremely happy with how it turned out.

Excellent experience

Right from.the get go, we had a very good experience with Ions reps. They were considerate, informative and really knew what they were doing. Brian Foley made sure we understood everything amd didn't mind our questions, even when it was a repeat. His answers were complete and informative, and helped us to understand the system, the install procedure, and what it would entail. Nothing was left unsaid, but we also are able to connect with ION and Brian, if we have any questions/issues. A reputable company, USA based, as well.

Rarely do I write reviews but this company deserves it. From the first knock on the door to up and producing, customer service and product has been outstanding and reassuring. I highly recommend this ION Solar!
