Smooth process, excellent support, and fast installation

I had a great experience working with ION Solar on my recent solar installation. Ben, my sales rep, was incredibly personable and took the time to explain everything clearly, which made the process feel easy and informed. Ryan, who worked alongside him, was also very friendly and helpful. From the beginning, ION was responsive and organized — they reached out to my HOA quickly, handled all the permitting details, and had the system installed in a surprisingly short amount of time. Communication was always timely, and I felt supported at every step. It’s clear ION values both service and system performance, and I appreciate how seamless they made a complex process feel. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a knowledgeable team that gets things done right and quickly.

Suns Out - Guns Out

Hey folks, this is my second solar install with ION Solar and if you still think solar is a PITA to get installed or you don’t think it’s worth it then give ION a try. Daniel J. and his team made things as easy as the first time. 1) If you don’t think solar is worth it, go live on the moon you complete potato. Even if you break even, it’s still good for this planet, you know, the only one we have. 2) You don’t have to do anything, ION does everything, answer a few emails and phone calls, maybe submit some paperwork to your HOA (which ION prepares for you!) then bam! it’s installed and your children will be proud of you for not destroying their planet. bye.

We've had a great experience from the very beginning. Our sales rep, Jacob, was informative, patient, and treated our project as if he was working on his own home. Communication has been prompt and regular. Our electrician, Zach, nearly hid the conduit in the side of the house making the install nearly unnoticible aside from the roof panels. So happy with the process.

Great Experience

Everything included in the solar package has gone very good from the sales person (Tyler Daniels) to the install crew. Communication is exceptional and I’m expecting to enjoy this system for a long time to come.

So far the process has been very smooth. IonSolar teams have been easy to work with. The sales rep, Andy Hill, has been outstanding to work with. Responsive and very knowledgeable.

So far, everything has gone smoothly. Everyone has been friendly and responsive. Still pending code enforcement, which ion scheduled. And then putting in the meter and turning on

Great experience

My account manager Chris was great. He answered all my questions and was very responsive throughout the whole process. The installers were also great. They were very professional during the install and the craftsmanship on the install was top tier.

Thankful

The process was easy, and a the installation was quick. 4 hours from start to finish, a bit noisy but that’s what we expected. They came early and on time, finished and cleaned their work area by noon. Just waiting on the city to approve to finally be running on solar! Thankful for Noe Cortez, he was not pushy at all. Super helpful and gave us plenty of information about this investment.

Regret with Ion Solar Non-Functioning System, Contract Breach

I deeply regret choosing Ion Solar. My system is currently not functioning, and Ion has been unresponsive in resolving the issue. On top of that, I have yet to receive the contracted incentives that were a key part of why I signed with them in the first place. I financed my system through Dividend, and I’m now stuck making loan payments on a solar setup that isn't even producing power. I've reached out to Ion multiple times, and the lack of accountability and follow-through has been incredibly frustrating. If you're considering Ion Solar, be very cautious. The promises they make during the sales process don’t seem to hold up once they’ve installed the panels and moved on. This has turned what should’ve been a great investment into a stressful and ongoing battle.

After reviewing three bids for solar installation, I chose Ion Solar based on their lowest quoted cost per kWh of production and the professionalism of their sales rep, Brandon. He was excellent: responsive, knowledgeable, and patient with my many questions. Unfortunately, the experience post contract fell below expectations. Production Estimate Revision: After signing the agreement, Ion revised the estimated system production downward by nearly 5% following the final design review. This represents a $750+ reduction in value based on the original cost/kWh calculation not including future production. At this stage, Ion does not allow cancellation or price adjustments without penalty putting customers at a disadvantage. Their justification that pricing is based on hardware not estimated production is unconvincing although written in the finer terms of the agreement. My concern is if production is how value is measured and quoted, the customer should be protected if estimates change materially. Permitting Delays and Funding Pulls: The City of Henderson initially approved the permit and Ion moved forward with installation. However, Ion later resubmitted for permit approval due to a final design change post installation. While I understand being proactive, this caused further delays and raises concerns about Ion executing work without full clearance. Despite the permit status being unresolved, Ion pulled over $15,000 from my bank account. When I requested a refund until the permit was reapproved, they declined. This creates a troubling dynamic where Ion holds the customer to strict terms while not necessarily following through on their end of the agreement and operating under more flexible internal standards. Property Damage During Installation: The installers used roof sealant that ended up staining 5–6 spots on my brand new carpet. Once dried, the residue couldn’t be cleaned. Ion’s resolution was to give the carpet a “haircut” by trimming the stained fibers. While this might be a practical fix in isolation, it added to a growing list of small issues that should have been handled with greater care and accountability. Final Thoughts: After installation, I reached out to Ion's customer support regarding the critter guard which had 2–3 inch visible gaps in the valleys of my Spanish style roof. My neighbor, who used another provider had flush and fully enclosed guards by comparison on the same roof. Ion never followed up on my inquiry. This lack of response is disappointing especially since it likely places the burden on me if birds or small critters get through those gaps in the future. Ion did ultimately deliver a functioning solar system and I expect the long term benefits of solar will be positive. However, the experience was marred with reduced value, delay, and minimal ownership. I hope Ion takes steps to improve the post sale experience for customers and improves internal accountability.

Ion was great!!.. Brandon Baird and his team were very helpful in upgrading my old system.. everything was fast and i received almost daily text to keep me posted on the progress. Worked out exactly as I was told. Thanks Brandon!

Excellent customer service delivery

Worst Experience Ever

My system was damaged by squirrels chewing on electrical lines. After 5 months of run around and $1000’s of dollars in service fees, my system still had very serious problems. I had to pay extra fees to use a credit card or pay by ACH transfer IN ADVANCE just to wait weeks more before someone would actually come out. After several expensive service visits, my system was not properly repaired and was still open to further damage by squirrels. I found another company that did the work for half as much money and did it right the first time! They were prompt and showed me how ION had not properly diagnosed my problems! If I had stayed with ION, I would have paid twice as much money (or more) and may not ever have it fixed correctly. If you are smart, find someone else to install your solar. They are a bunch of crooks and do not know how to repair their own equipment!

When your roof starts leaking, ION won't do much about it

I have multiple leaks in my roof now and ION believes that waiting a week with water dripping through the ceiling is acceptable. If you have an issue, don't expect a quick response or for it to be fixed in a timely manner. I am doubtful the issue will be fixed properly (if at all) and what untold damage is being done while water pours into my attic. I will gladly update my review if ION gets this resolved quickly and I have had a case open since last week that has not been addressed.

Awful experience

There’s been a huge lack of communication and we have no idea what is going on with our system. We officially got told our system was finalized and up and running 3 weeks ago but got no communication as to how to monitor our system or what we needed to do. After reaching out, we got told to contact Enphase for access to the app for monitoring but Enphase didn’t have record of us and we don’t have any Enphase equipment. We then got directed to contact Solar Edge (which matches the equipment we have) but we have been back and forth between Ion Solar and Solar Edge for a week and a half now with both companies saying that the other company needs to be the one to help us get access to the monitoring for our system. We have already had to start paying monthly payments for a system that we don’t even know if it’s working and we can’t get Ion to do anything to help us. Today they claimed that someone tried calling us but neither my husband or I received a call and when we contacted them, we just got yet another dead end. We tried asking for a refund and for them to uninstall since things clearly are going nowhere and they said we can’t do that because it’s already been paid for by the financing company. It’s been a whole load of shit for absolutely no good reason! Do not go with them!!!!

From start to finish, the experience was smooth, quick, and stress-free. The team took their time to make sure I was comfortable with everything, while still moving efficiently. I called a lot of companies, and this one stood out by a mile. From Kiel in sales to the install crew, everyone was professional and impressive. Kiel went out of his way to keep me fully informed throughout the process—he was friendly, honest, and easy to talk to made sure I understood the value, especially the tax benefits. Without his help, I might not have gone through with it.

New to solar and I don’t regret it

From the initial meeting with Griffin Muzylowski through the installation Ion Solar has been a pleasure to work with. They made everything seamless from the work with the utility company, my HOA and answering my endless questions. My family when I was young had a terrible experience with “old solar” and my experience has been overwhelmingly positive, and I’m grateful that there’s a company like Ion to help me do better with my impact on the environment and eventually in saving me money!!!
