We just had our panels installed from start to finish was very seamless. The Technicians that installed them were very friendly and professional. Answered all my questions without hesitation. I can't say enough good thing things about Chris Hayden our advisor. He has gone a great job with getting our system up and running.

The worker with me on every aspect of the installation process and paperwork after. Best hands-on experience I have ever had. I highly recommend them to all my friends.

Money Pit

When comparing the cost of switching to Ion with not bothering, PLEASE don't forget to include the cost of the damaged panels that they will charge to replace when they get chewed on by squirrels (let alone the cost of roof repair from the burrowing), and please don't forget to factor in the $250 house call when a panel has an error. Let alone the thousands of dollars charged to remove and reinstall when your shingles have to be replaced. You will be shackled with a decades-long loan while still paying for the electricity you couldn't produce while your panels either break down or get serviced and replaced for a high, HIGH price.

Good service, until there is an issue

Purchase, installation, tax credit, all worked like clockwork. Then we had hail and had to replace our roof again-- they charged 2.5x what our insurance would cover for removal and reinstallation which was a shocker, zero budging on cost or working with insurance company to help so we had to come out of pocket. When we paid the reinstallation invoice they said "oh by the way 2 panels were ruined by a critter". They had a fuzzy picture of one wire, but no proof that the other panel had damage, or that the critter guard was installed correctly, or that it was even a critter-- the picture was of the panel on the ground so it could have been from removal as well. Eventually I got fed up with waiting for 2 months jumping around support cycles to see if I can get it repaired and gave in to paying for brand new panels (because a repair of even a simple wire would void warranty).

Smooth, Fast Process

Process was very smooth with our sales rep Ryan Schoen being available during the entire process. We finished well ahead of schedule completing the process in only 2 weeks and the install in 1 day! They even handled our HOA and all permitting for us.

Absolutely fantastic installation! From the initial meeting with Joshua and the great communication throughout the process has been great! Now hoping that the system works as well as it looks.

Great Installation

We just got our solar system installed by ION Solar. It is now operational and we are thrilled to see our daily productions. Our Sales Engineer Jeff Crane answered our millions of up front questions and what he told us about the installation process was spot on. The installation crew came out and quickly installed the system. I was impressed with the communications as we waited for the City and Power Company inspections. Thank you Ion Solar!

Terrible Install

The process started out smooth and the sales guy Kaden was great. But as soon as it got to installation everything went downhill. When they scheduled I was told on the call that they would be working inside the house for at least an hour, then the light would go out for an bit, and that after that everything else was outside. This was not the case at all because as soon as they arrived they worked outside and maybe an hour or so later one of them came in and said he needed to do some work in the attic. After he finished he yelled out that they were done inside and did not need to come back in. I waited a little longer and then decided to get ready for work, as I was in the shower all of my lights went off with no prior warning. I let that go, and proceeded to get ready in the dark. As I was getting ready to leave for work all of the trucks left my house without saying a word. When I arrived home from work my lights upstairs were still not working and neither was my fridge. This caused some of my food to go bad and nearly my insulin. So, I went to go reset my breaker and they worked for the most part. But when I went to reset my breaker there was trash in the area they workers were in. They also left crusty mud, and insulation all over the carpet upstairs where they accessed the attic. Then not only that, the next morning my fridge went off again. This has never happened until the panels were installed. When I called ION I told them everything and their response was only to send a technician the next day. The technician did not show up on time because he had other installations to do, despite not clearly being done with mine. On my driveway camera I saw that he arrived no more than 5 minutes before he called me, and on the call he said that it was because of the breaker box being faulty and having recalls. He advised me to call my home warranty, and to look it up myself. Which I did both and there were no recalls listed and my home warranty said that they should know if they install a solar on the house it voids all warranties. Even then the agent proceeded to tell me that they use the same box for every house in the area and they never received a notice for recalls. The point is the technician just did not want to work on my electrical that they messed up. I am still currently playing phone tag with this company and have had to dispose of at least $100 worth of groceries and thank god only vial of insulin. Hopefully they get it together because I don’t want to have to replace more insulin since it is so expensive. I can only say I wish I never went through with this.

Outstanding Service

From the initial consultation to the final installation, everything was handled with professionalism and care. Mr Stacey Collin and ION Solar staff are so amazing and knowledgeable. My Solar Panels look great on the roof. Thank you for making the process easy and enjoyable :) I would recommend anyone reading this to go Solar and work with Mr Stacey Collin and the team.

This whole process has been seamless and not stressful at all. You guys have been so informative and helpful. Ricki Godri was also great through this whole process!

Excellent Communication

I cannot rave enough about the communication we received during our entire process from ION and all of their employees. I actually liked the text message communication, followed up with emails, because those are ways I can remember who I spoke with. Knowing we purchased solar panels from a strong company that stands behind their products made this financial dent worth it.

Ion rips off Veteran

My wife is a realtor and has talked to people who have purchased Solar from Ion. I paid $20k more for the same amount of panels. (RIPP OFF #1). The panels were shaded by some trees, that I was told, that If removed, would provide enough sun to work. They installed the panels before the tree work. After the tree work, the trees on the adjacent property shade the panels, at no time during the day are the panels not shaded. The array in the Summertime produces no more than $50.00 an in the Winter no more than $10. The payment is $495. At best that is a huge savings of -$445 a month. But I am racking up the carbon credits I don't get paid for. Even if it worked as promised by ,the crook who sold it to me, I can never "print money" like the morally bankrupt salesman said. Because, PGE pays you out at the end of the year, but in the fine print is says- "We are going to donate all your excess credits to charity". In no scenario, could this incompetently installed malfunction equipment, ever produce any value what so ever, to the consumer, and they knew that right from the start. These people won't service my equipment "Because I'm a Veteran with a bad attitude. After the salesman thanked me for my service. "I hope there is a war and you all get drafted" Yes I'm Pissed and I let them know it. The solar panels are too close to the edge of the roof and water spills over gutter into the subfloor and has rotted out the gas pipe, The install is ugly and crude. (What level?) But hey the New Attorney General Pam Bondi, when she was in Florida, she went after Solar companies who were ripping off Seniors and Veterans (Just like ION) for putting panels in the shade (Just like ION did to me) In conclusion if ION shows up at your door, You have my express permition to tell them to "get the F off my lawn".

Cheated by Benjamin Gorocpe (Energy Advisior)

I was cheated by the Benjamin Gorocpe so called Energy Advisor. My energy consumption was calculated very wrongly by him. In winters I paid $189 for Solar and $205 to NV Energy which is way higher in winters when there are no fans or air conditioner in use. When I spoke with the said cheater he tried to accuse me. It’s my advise to everyone whoever reads my review please never trust the cheater named BENJAMIN GOROCPE.

Install going as planned. Do your own cost analysis before applying for solar.

Excellent Installion!!

Ion did a spectacular job with my installation. First the communication building up to the actual install was incredible. From the initial information when we decided to move forward to the follow ups after the install everything was smooth, professional and complete. The panels used appear to be one of the tops in the industry. I can’t wait to see the payback. My 4000+ sf house only required 7 panels. The day of the install was incredibly smooth. The entire job (electrical and roof) took less than 90 minutes. Wow. I wish these folks worked all of my home projects!!!!

They did the job they cleaned up and I have no problems

I've had ION Solar Install the first set of panels in 2021. This past week they installed a remaining set of panels to ensure i was 102%. The installations have been swift and they answered all of my questions with professional answers, which helps me understand what to expect and what to look for as i maintain my set of panels. The iPhone app is an amazing tool to validate power input.
