Biggest mistake of 2019

Worst company ever. Terrible about getting back with people. I paid cash and they still funded my loan after telling me TWICE that the loan was canceled. Took days to fix. Refused to return my calls. Multiple people told me they wouldn't ignore me and then did ignore me. The original install crew lied to me about the job so I would cancel the job so they could have the day off. I asked to return the solar for a refund before using it, they refused. I emailed a list of my complaints, never heard back. Also, they have a lot of false positive reviews because they start asking for you to review them the day you sign up. Do not trust them. Specifically do not trust Tyler (young salesman) or Carter Grubbs (VP). Carter will lie to you and ignore you. Don't go with Ion. Go elsewhere. Clayton was the only one who didn't ignore me, but by the time he had to deal with me I was so angry I'm sure he wanted to ignore me.

A lot still to learn about customer service and best practices

Installation was a nightmare. Existing circuit breakers were re-wired incorrectly and took multiple service visits to resolve. Loose wire nuts in roof junction box led to multiple more service visits before getting identified and corrected, costing weeks worth of energy. Roof junction box covers only secured with half of the designed screws. No sense of urgency in scheduling repairs when problems were identified. Lots of trash/debris left behind on installation day, including roofing nails in the driveway. Installers unaware of promised critter guard, resulting in yet another service call. Solar panels had come off of someone else's roof - all were scratched to some degree. Panels were packed in truck with zero padding or protection. Most communication with project manager had to be initiated by me instead of them, and response time was often not prompt. Communication from service technicians was typically non-existent. Design placed panel in shadow of stovepipe resulting in only 30% of potential power generation ability.

Great comany that strives for quality.

My initial meetings with ION put them on the top. They went through the whole process showing the material used witch was great to research the products. Derin was the project manager and was in complete contact thru the whole process they also have an app for your mobile device to track the process, referrals etc. They did all the legwork with my city for permitting and meet with them on the inspection quick and simple turn on procedure when we received permission to operate. Once operating you get the Emphase software to monitor your system, its exciting to see it in action. Thank you ION

Ion Solar Installation. We finally received Approval from the power company and turned our system on. We couldn't be more pleased. Everything is working properly and the MyEnlighten Webpage is very cool to watch. The installation team came out and had the job done is one day.

We're not very far along in our process but we've had a good experience with ION Solar so far. Everyone has been polite and keeps us updated on where we are in the process.

Great Job!

We've had the system for about a month. It looks great and I'm anxious to see the how it does through the winter and into the peak of next summer. Ion was easy to work with and great at communicating. I used their app during the pre-install process and love the Enlighten app that shows what the individual panels each produce, today's current production vs yesterdays, and monthy/annual trends.

After 3rd party designers were removed

After the 3rd party designers were removed from our account, the whole process was simple because of a great saleman, project manager, and foreman on the installation side. The 3rd party didn't read any of the inspectors notes and did not listen to the project manager. After we requested all work to be done by the experts at ION, the system design was good. The team at ION also dealt with the dreaded power company we have and the local permitting making that whole process seamless. You might not get daily or even weekly updates, but when you get the call to schedule tge installation because all the financing, power company contracts, and permitting are complete, it makes the wait worth it. Then the install for our house was under an hour and a half. Done. Only have to wait for electrical inspection

Every person they had at the house was professional and on time. Lots of follow-up with the PM and salesman and they always got back with us on any questions we had. Installers were great and the inspectors were happy campers. Just waiting on utility approval

QA needs work

Issues started when going to my Project Mgr. The wrong disconnect was installed and got rejected by my city. How can a Top Tier solar company install a wrong Disconnect....bad QA. Still trying to get someone out here to correct Electrical Wiring so my city can approve it. However, my contact (Les B.) & (Tom D.) was a great experience.

Fast installation!

When they first arrived I asked the team leader of the installation crew how many days it would take to complete the project. He said "Days? Just about five hours!" And he was right! They arrived before 9:00 AM and left just after 1:00 PM. Now I'm waiting for the local electrical company to come inspect the installation, and if it meets their requirements, they'll flip the switch and turn it on. I can't wait!

Professional from soup to nuts

Everyone we dealt with were the epitome of professionalism. Questions (no matter how of the wall or simplistic) were answered in great detail. Schedule expectations were communicated thoroughly (and correctly). The installers were top notch. If you are happy with your Ion quote, have no hesitation about the service you'll receive after you sign on the line.
