Keyera Thomas, Jeff Kennedy and Taylor were all professional and helpful throughout the whole process of purchasing our solar panels. Will definitely refer Ion Solar to friends neighbors and acquaintances. Information for the tax credit for our solar panels was very easy to obtain, and easy to calculate our taxes!

Great experience

I knew nothing about Solar, the costs and installation process. After my initial meetings I felt very comfortable and all my questions were answered. Once I decided to move forward the process was so simple. I was always aware of what was happening and the timing associated with it. It was great experience.

False Advertisement & No Support After They Had Our Money

Long story short, the representative who sold us the product lied about the timeline for installation and cost. Our panels were installed 4 months after the projected date. Our monthly payment will also be INCREASING FROM WHAT THE CONTRACT STATES. Any sort of phone call I’ve made has been received by someone who sounds like they have no idea where they are working. They also are prone to using what seems like a script of excuses. I highly recommend doing your research into a different solar panel company, so you are not stuck with the like my family is. I will be happy to go in depth and give specific experiences if there is a way to do so.

This was the easiest process possible

Ben Toala started the process by explaining how everything worked and how it would happen. He answered all my questions and was very pleasant to talk with. Working with Jude and Selena who always kept me posted on everything even when things had to be rescheduled due to weather and some personal interruptions that I had. Everyone that came to my house were friendly, respectful, and knowledgeable. Thank you for making this such an easy process. I would recommend you to everyone and have!

Just not worth the money

Look, it’s not that I’ve had a bad experience but it’s just not worth the money. I still get an electric bill every month that is only $15 less that before solar panels… yet I pay $80 a month FOR the solar panels. I cannot reach anyone in customer service and I had to pay $1000 to get a critter guard installed when pigeons made a home under the panels. You will get critters and a lot of companies install them with the panels, not this one. I just have found zero value in getting these installed. I feel completely hoodwinked.

An Excellent Company

ION Solar has lived up to its promise to do its best to convert and install a high-quality solar system in my home. Energy Adviser: Mike Bettiga has been an excellent representative of the company and kept us informed every step of the way. I have found this company to be of the utmost trust and professionalism. I highly recommend them to anyone and everyone. Our system is up and running and we are producing clean energy.

New ion solar install

Perfect from start to finish. Can not recommend strongly enough.

Ion is terrible

Ion service completely terrible they built a system for my home that was completely different from what they sold me. My panels don't produce nowhere near what I need! I have 35 panels and I'm only producing 838-900 kw I have a 3288 sqdt home still getting a large bill from NV Energy. Ridiculous and when you try to call main sales person Christina she blows you off. Call customer service and they say well nothing I can help you with our hands are tied. Be very careful ION solar is a terrible solar provider!

Really not much better than the competition

The process was okay up until the install. The company switched our project coordinator a day or two before the install. I had items left on my roof to include a crowbar to slide down a few days later. After the install, it took weeks for someone to come out and do the inspection. The first reschedule wasn’t their fault but they didn’t prioritize the ones who were pushed to get them on the schedule. It’s now been about a month and a half since my panels were placed on my house. They still aren’t operational. I can’t get the company to come back here to fix the issues found by the city with the panels. Actually wish I went with a different company.

Met all expectations!!

At first, I was a bit skeptical when my doorbell ringed with two gentlemen talking about ION's Solar energy. I was still a bit iffy once my spouse and I decided to move forward with the process. ION's assured us and remained in contact during the process. ION answered the call by email, phone or text. Most importantly they keep us to date throughout the entire process from emails and text. The instructions and information provided were easy to read. I appreciate the professionalism and support from ION. I would do it again if they came knocking on my door without hesitation.

Best investment ever

Excellent service! Ion representative, Matt and Tanner, where very professional. They Make me feel confident with my investment because of all the information they share with me. They don’t sound like sellers but teachers who are sharing information that we all should take advantage of. I’m very happy with my decision to become part of the Ion Family. Patricia ☀️

Took a year to have them turned on.... Issue after issue. Failed 3 inspections when I first told them it was an old house to warn them. I could go on and on. Just find someone else and don't trust them on the rebate pitch.

Clean, Green Electricity!

It was a pleasure to watch and interact with ION’s installers. They were courteous and very professional. Now that we’re harnessing the Sun instead of fossil fuels we are elated to be helping in our small way in mitigating Climate Change.

High electric bills

We had panels installed in March this year and we’re told to give it 2 to 3 electric bills before we could see a difference in the electric usage and savings; which as of this month has not happened! This last bill is $192.24 add that to the solar bill and we are out almost 350.00! Not a savings at all. The staff that we have spoken with have asked for our CPS bills which we’ve done! One said it’s the trees but they were there when installation occurred! Needless to say we are not happy with the fact that our bill is still higher than we expected and we were told it would be no out of pocket money. We have let them know that we want the panels removed since no one is offering a solution that suits us! We’re on a fixed income and don’t need higher bills that are programmed to save us money but fail to do so. Please contact us at your earliest convenience and hep us with this problem.

Detach/reattach Service

Let me start by saying I was/am happy with my sales representative, he's still very communicative and tries his best to help and seems to be the only person willing to address my concerns. My install team was great and all went smooth. I WAS happy with ION. HOWEVER, my nightmare began with my disconnect in order for roof replacement. During sales pitch I was told ION removes and stores panels in a safe location. This was not my situation. 10/28/21 My panels were removed and stored on the side of my house and all parts and pieces were basically "tossed about like trash". My reinstall date 11/22/21 was scheduled by my roofer weeks in advance, and when the date of reinstall was to happen, it did not. No call, just a no show. When my roofer reached out to ION we were not told I had to wait 2 MORE weeks for reinstall 12/6/21 - because they are on a tight schedule. So their error, is now on ME. Reinstall team shows up 12/06/21, and are more than shocked at how my panels are placed/stored, not tied down, so thanks to CO wind, one has blown over, scratched...but said to not be 'damaged'....we'll see. The detach team left all my electrical exposed from an upward facing conduit to the elements/moisture (I don't have attack access so all my piping is outside my house). NOW all my wiring needs to be redone. 12/11/21 (Sat) IONs electrician has a van break down and doesn't show. Told I would be rescheduled early this week, no contact for rescheduled time has been made, we are entering 'mid week' not "early week". I contacted my rep, 12/13/21 for someone to speak to that has the "power" to acknowledge the wrong that ION has, acknowledge the lack of responsibility on IONs behalf and to get my solar up and running again after nearly 2 months. I was told "James" the supervisor for "all reroofs" in the entire company would call me this morning, 12/14/21 - it is now 1:21pm and no call. My roofer pushed me to use her detachment team, but due to the "voiding my service" warranty if I used someone other than ION I chose to stay with Ion. I regret that decision. My roofer is less than pleased with their lack of professionalism and plain human decency. All appointments scheduled around the 11/22 reinstall had to be pushed out, impacting several other contractors. I lost great days of weather we had for preparing/painting my house. All of this has been more stress than it needed to be, and I've been less than satisfied with the flippant attitude I get when trying to speak to the people "scheduling" my service. I'm paying for solar panels I can't use, I'm on full use with my power company, so all savings that I should see because I'm a solar user are gone....I'm basically paying for 16,000 paperweights on my roof. I've been pushed back and ignored - and now this seems to be the only way to have my voice heard. I get it, "things" happen, but most companies jump on a mistake and fix it ASAP, I have not seen this from ION, days, weeks are slipping by and I am still fighting to get my panels back up and running. BEWARE - just get a new service warranty from a solar team if you need your panels detached....you'll save yourself a lot of headache. Trust me.

I typically don't listen to door-to-door salesmen but Ty showed up for Ion Solar and IMPRESSED me immediately! Super knowledgeable, not pushy, and very charismatic. He walked me through the entire process and even worked with the electric company to move things along. I am so happy with my panels and the AMAZING customer service I still receive after-install.

Not sure I’ll be saving money yet but the overall experience was good so far.

Great company and great instal experience

Truly a great experience. I really appreciate how out of their way the Ion professionals were willing to go to get my system done right for me. Michael Shafer (sales) and Heather Greene (permitting), and the electrician Matt (don’t know last name), and the panel install crew, went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with how things went. I’m very picky and had way more questions than the normal customer and they answered every one of them or got me an answer back on things they didn’t know right off. I’m super excited about my panels being turned on now, and they are already producing better than expected. I’m so happy and would work with The Ion Solar team in a heartbeat.

Overall pleased

Overall we are pleased with our installation of solar panels with Ion Solar. There were a few bumps on the path but we are finished and happy with the result. Some of the issues were normal issues of finding pieces and parts as well as a mistake on Ion's part. Ion did make the mistake right and we are pleased with our final install.

WHY HAVEN'T YOU GONE SOLAR!?

My wife and I just moved into a new home in Castle Rock and amongst the many things we are upgrading we have always had an interest in getting solar panels installed. The nice thing with being in a new home is the sales come to you! A gentleman stopped the house one day and mentioned they were installing solar panels in the neighborhood with NO UPFRONT COSTS and they can lock in a rate instead of paying a fluctuating electric bill. I wasn't home so my wife told him to come back on Friday and talk to me. This gentleman, Keaton Campbell followed through with his word and came back on Friday. A man of his word gains a lot of credibility and respect in my book, and to see that he came back at the time we asked him to came back was much appreciated. We chatted for about 30 minutes and I said let's do it! The following week Jason Dashiell came to the house and spoke with my wife for about two and half hours answering every question we had and setting our minds at ease with all the different concerns we had. I will say he was fantastic at taking what can be a complicated and burdening process and making it simple and burden free, all with the help of his beautiful Great Dane!;) We have two little one's and he was cognizant of their nap times and allowing us to take care of them without feeling stressed that we were not giving them our un-divided attention. At the end of the conversation we agreed we wanted to move forward with ION and every experience we have members of their team affirms that decision. If you are on the fence or are wanting to go solar give ION Solar a call. You are there top priority, not just another sale, not just another number but honestly apart of the ION Family!

Where to start...

To start off, I signed up for solar with Ion because I had heard great things and knew I wanted solar. My friend works for the company and walked me through it all and it made sense for me. He and the rep were awesome and have been incredible through this process in helping me contact the proper people to get help. Now the story: I first signed the quote to move forward with the project on April 20th, 2021. It took a bit to get things scheduled to start the process moving along. The first incident happened on July 9th - a crew showed up completely unannounced to dig a ditch connecting a mother-in-law suite to the main house as panels would be on the back suite and main house all connected to one meter. After that, the roof team came in to reinforce the roof in the next week and was done by July 19. I waited until August 10th to reach out as I hadn't heard anything about installation timeline. I was told that we were waiting on permits. I followed up Sep 9th and reached out to several people with no response. As before, I reached out to the original rep as they were super helpful and the only responsive person. Finally around Sep 22, the panels went up. The team that came said the trenching wasn't done properly and had to redo part of it. They also had to check because there was supposed to be an inspection done at the time of the trench being done that of course was not. After two days, putting up the panels and fixing the trenching, the install team did a great job and gave me hope that things would wrap up quickly since this was already far later than it should've been. Now I sit here on November 3 without any inspection completed, have missed any credits the summer sun would have built up for me, and out 3+ months of rent ($4000+) on the mother-in-law suite as I can't show it with the large ditch still open right in front of it from the un-inspected trenching that they can't close up. I know some of the issues in here are related to local government schedule changes and losing permits but nobody followed up until I brought it up. No sense of urgency. I was told from the beginning that the process if usually about 90 days but now I am more than 6 months out without panels I can turn on. I have given Ion the benefit of the doubt even up until the September installation (which is still very late) but apparently not done enough to raise alarm bells at how terrible this experience has been. If you enjoy volunteer project management, this is the nightmare for you. If I could go back in time, I would be better off paying them $4000 to not put solar on my roof. I would hope this is a very unfortunate, isolated incident but this is completely unacceptable.
