It's been a great experience working with ION solar.

I think it took about three months from meeting with the sales team to turning on the panels. I wish all businesses and governments worked this way. It was like a white-glove delivery service with ION working on our behalf with our HOA, local govt and electric company to get this completed. We literally forwarded an email and were home one day- that's the amount of effort it took for us. They look sleek on our roof and we've had zero issues. The installers were incredibly friendly and competent. We got the go ahead to turn the panel switch on in March, our first full cycle electric bill was $200 less than the previous. That being said- with no upfront costs and 5-star service, be prepared to sign on for a loan or drop thousands depending on the size of your home (ours is quite large). Personally I would rather spend that money on solar with a finite payoff date than renting indefinitely from the electric company.

Ion Solar and all their representatives have been nothing but professional and communicative throughout the whole process. They walked us through the design, permitting, and installation. So far, I am incredibly happy with the ease of the whole thing. We are still waiting for city and utility inspection, but I anticipate no issues and the installation appears to me to meet all requirements.

I had a really good experience from the time noe Cortez the sales representative to the installation of the solar panels. Ion solar kept me informed throughout the process of getting required approvals and permits. I highly recommend Ion solar

Met with Justin and everything was laid out in regards to the processes. No surprises along the way and the coordination of the entire project was excellent. Great team work! Justin and Simone are great front line individuals both very personable, courteous and professional!

Overall service from Ion has been wonderful! From the initial contact by the field rep (Liz) to Kiel, I’ve had no issues. The best part to date is how much communication I’ve received to ensure I’m up to date on what is happening behind the scenes.

The ION Solar team has been great to work with

They are thorough and clear on the components, planning, and implementation of our solar install. When the local power company said they couldn't support the capacity we sought, the team quickly worked to redesign the system within the limitations set and had us back on track for approval within a day. Installation took half a day and the installers did a great job with a clean install and no findings on the inspection. With ION you get great support from their team and they handled all the approvals and permits to make this as easy as possible on the homeowner. « less

Unbelievable

Recieved a call from an Ion guy and I asked a few questions. I guess it was wrong to engage at all with these guys. After that I started to recieve endless phonecalls and text messages that I had zoom appointments and other appointments that I had never even scheduled. I NEVER said I wanted any kind if service from this company and yet they continuously harass me through calls and text. Do NOT engage with them because they will relentlessly not leave you alone! This is supposedly a "free" service, but I cannot help but think something else is behind all of the calls and texts.

I really appreciated how responsive their customer service was.

Ion Solar has the best customer service…never one felt any pressure to purchase, and explained and stayed in contact with me the whole process …I would definitely recommend them to my family and friends!

Everything was done to satisfaction!

Sale rep Brandon Seidel was the best! He took his time, thoroughly explained the product and laid out a time line. Once started the project stayed on track. Everything played out like he said it would. So happy to be apart of the Ion Solar family!

Our experience overall has been excellent the entire time.Our sales representatives Richard wright was persistent and patient explaining everything we needed to to make our choice on going solar for our energy needs and getting us started.The team has reached out to us the entire time and made the process very easy to keep track as we moved along.

Great customer service from start to finish!

I was initially in a contract with another company, but It made more sense to go with ION, better incentives, pricing, customer service and knowledge in the sector. They even paid for the cancellation fee to switch over. Tyler for straight-forward honest and addressed all my questions and concerns promptly. I was expecting 4-6 weeks installment, but once paperwork was completed panels were up in less than a week. Installation crew & electrician showed-up exactly on-time, worked efficiently before a storm came through. Let just say I had my doubts and concerns, but moving forward I am confident and have a peace of mind that I’ve made the right decision to go Solar with ION! « less

Probably good, if they don't screw up installation

I signed up for solar, after 2 positive reviews from friends. Install and everything went quick, efficient, and was up and running after 2 months or so. This is, apparently, the norm. My experience was vastly different though... Everything was on track, up until inspection by the county/city (whoever it is). I was told that the installation team made a mistake, skipping installation of a particular part that is NOT necessary, as of 2023, apparently. However, since install was for 2022 still, inspection failed. Install happened and was finished (had solar panels and electric box on house) in early Nov 2022. After that, I started to hear less and less from Ion. To the point that I wondered what was going on, repeatedly calling them, and getting the cliche "we're working on it" communication calls. Billing hit me right after installation was finished, even though inspection failed. THIS is where they got me. Why charge someone for something, when it's not even turned on? I get that they're installed on my house, and I will eventually need to pay for them. I also understand that I may have a transition period where I'm paying the solar loan bill, and my electric bill. But I was expecting only a month or two, maybe. Instead, I got 6-7 months worth of electric company and solar loan billing, while Ion rarely spoke to me. At one point, I had to reach out to the loan company, to see if I could stop payments until the things were actually up and running. It wasn't until that happened, that they finally started communicating with me more, and actually started getting somewhere... smh... At best, they're incompetent in various areas that can cause massive headaches. At worst, they don't give a flying F about you as a customer... Typical company/corporate BS. After calling the loan company, they transferred me to an Ion customer rep. He asked me "what can we do to make it better?" I replied: "I'm not really sure, at this point. You tell me what the options are?! I'd like to NOT pay you, until everything is actually functional, and I have a working product... What options do I, or YOU, even have?!?!" SHOCKER, they wouldn't stop charging me! Due to bad communication, I can't tell if Ion is "the bad guy" in this scenario, because I'm guessing that the regulations for the electric company and the city/county to do their inspections, is vastly under regulated. That said, I wouldn't really know, and was quoted 2 weeks for each, typically. That puts me at one month of time... Not 6-7 after install... So, nothing adds up, and no one could tell me what the heck was going on... But I still get to pay for it!!! SWEET!!!

Excellent Customer Service

I am in the military and when we moved to VA, we thought this would be a long-term home for us. We hadn't considered solar but after meeting with an ION rep, we were excited to move forward. Proceeding past the point of the design planning and home inspection, we learned that we would not in fact be staying in VA as long as we thought. Though we had already signed the contract and were past the point of cancelling without a significant fee, the ION Solar team was very understanding and allowed us to cancel the contract without a fee. While we were disappointed not to be able to proceed with solar (it just didn't make sense without knowing that we would be here more than 3 years), we were thrilled with the willingness of the team to work with our unique circumstances. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in solar.

Very satisfied with our service from ION Solar. The sales process was extremely informative and didn't involve any pressure. When we had competing offers, ION was more than happy to meet the same conditions. The service installers were friendly, professional, did excellent work, and were very respectful of our property. They are also quick to respond to messages by email or text.

Good Company!

The ION Solar team did a fast good quality install at my house Last week. We are now just waiting for the city and NVE to do their inspections and we will be good to go. Our sales rep Justin has been in touch quite a bit to ensure a smooth process. Their team has done a good job so far.

We finally made the decision to go solar and the process, although a bit longer than expected, has been a great experience. Calvin Davila sat with us and gave an excellent presentation, provided a step by step rundown so we knew what to expect, the cost, and the savings we would get by switching to solar. Good service and highly recommended.

Company is inefficient, unprepared, and untrustworthy

This company is absolutely horrible! They stopped responding before they completed the contract of work. Their only "electrician" quit mid day. We've taken multiple days off and they no showed. I can't over emphasize this...stay away from these scam artists! There are so many options within solar--pick anybody but these people. Have been waiting for them to finish the work for more than 8 months.

My experience with ION Solar was the best. Having my consultation with Anthony, made it very understanding and I realized why doesn’t everyone have solar!? Install was easy and fast. I totally recommend ION, a trusted brand.

ION Solar has been pleasant to work with. They have been instrumental in our understanding of the solar implementation process, and were willing to assist us to amend our design to a more aesthetically pleasing arrangement, per our request. They were on time or ahead of time with all deliverable milestones, and we impressive with their timely and clear communication to us as homeowners. We recommend working with ION Solar in the northern Colorado market. If you are in Fort Collins, Hadley Ferrell, our service rep, is also highly recommended. Thanks ION Solar!

Disappointed

Incredibly unhappy with this company at this point. We started the conversation and process of moving forward with solar panels in July of 2022. Solar panels were not installed until December of 2022. It was initially reassuring that every time I called, we were 'just within the expected timeframe' but it became very suspicious that there was only forward motion after I would call and text. It is now May of 2023, the solar panels have been installed for 5 months, they are not active, I have already made 2 monthly payments on my solar panels in addition to my regular monthly electric bill. We have failed two inspections; they were a no show for my third inspection. Waiting for the 4th one to be scheduled. Installation was spread out over a two week period when it should have been done within the day that it was scheduled to be installed. Multiple visits since to fix things that are missing or to label things that were left unlabeled.

Noe was great to work with. He is professional, knowledgeable and courteous. My experience with ION Solar was great. The installers did a great job and were very efficient. The panels look sleek. Highly recommend.

Ion solar has been great. Open lines of communication from the start. Sean was very informative when he came over to discuss going solar. Really impressive sales rep and an impressive company. Great group of people to work with.

Although my system hasn't been turn on yet (waiting for inspection), the experience has been awsome. My sales rep Brandon Jackson was great. He explained everything in detail and as far as I can tell he left nothing out. The door to door sales associates were pleasant and curious and I particularly enjoyed the conversations. The electrician, who's name I can't remember, along with Ryan and his team who installed the panels, are Dare Devils and were very professional. I know they do this for a living but up and down a latter on a 3 story home, wow. I commend these Gentlemen for I could not do it. Well done! Now on to the savings....

The ION team has been fantastic. Our installation was completed 2 days ago. The install team was very informative and willing to answer all questions. It was so great to see the digital electric meter showing us feeding the grid during their brief test. Hopefully the rest of the process will be completed very soon (city inspection and utility inspection). Originally we were not going to get solar. When Kevin our ION rep stopped by and told us about their program with no money out of pocket we became interested, but let him know that we were leaning to No. However, after reviewing ION and the products they used, in addition to the rising electric rates and now forced to participate in the time of use, it started to make sense to get solar. I did lots of research on the panels and inverters they were going to install. They also provided me with the spec sheets on the equipment being installed that I requested. So far our experience with ION has been great. I would definitely recommend anyone who is looking at getting solar to check out ION and see if what they offer fits what you want in a solar installation.

They lack project follow-through. pick a different company.

I signed the agreement to have my solar panels installed in August of 2022. They had delays and installed them in January of 2023. HOWEVER, they forgot to install a shut off so we did not pass the inspection... and it has been over THREE MONTHS since then and I still have not had my panels turned on, I am getting bills for the panels on my home, but I am unable to use my panels. I called and asked for a reimbursement of our bills while we are in this holding pattern, and they "will get back to me" - this is the second time I made this request and I have yet to get ahold of someone who will help us get this resolved. My contract said they would have this completed by now... I would strongly suggest using a different company.
