Going solar was a very big deal for me. I live on disability and found that I could no longer afford electricity. When researching my options, and found I could not only afford going green, but it would also improve the value of my home, needless to say I was elated. Green Solar Tech. Was an excellent choice, because they guided me step by step. They educated me in the solar process. They respected me and my property, and my financial position. From the salesman, to the project manager to the local installers, even the financial people. Left no stone uncovered. I know I made the right choice, and I am referring them to all my friends and family.

Mixed Results

While I am proud to say that I have a solar system producing my own electricity, there have been miscues on both sides. There is the financing side, system design side, and installation side. I am disappointed that I did not do enough research on my own as opposed to taking the word of the company. I would have been in a better position to ask relevant questions and for that I take full responsibility. Looking back, in the beginning things were rushed to take advantage of a special deal to get an additional panel at no charge. While I had indicated that a ground mount system was best suited for me due to the configuration of the house, the original quote was for a roof mount system. It was changed but there was an additional cost. That additional cost was then financed by a separate company which led to some problems. It took awhile to get things straightened out because our physical address was used as opposed to our mailing address. We never received any of the financial institutions statements because they were returned to them as undeliverable. That did get corrected but it was still confusing. Eventually in a call to Green Solar it was explained why there were 2 loans instead of one. Now everything is on track. Finally, the tax credit was really great! That part worked as explained! I am not convinced that our system was designed to meet our usage. I did send in the residential electrical data usage requested and indicated that for us a ground mount would be the best. Unfortunately I did not send in our Ag electrical data usage. The original panel support grid design looked awkward because we had 19 panels and it left an empty hole. The support design was suited for 20. So we bought another one to fill it and make it look better. But that additional panel meant the the inverter was undersized so it had to be upgraded. So even with all of this we are not seeing the reduction in our electric bill we were told to expect. This is the most disappointing. Is our system under designed based on our usage? I did not do an analysis on my on and relied solely on Green Solar's analysis. The installer was extremely professional in all aspects of the installation process. I was impressed by his workmanship even in less than ideal weather conditions. But it was a very long drawn out process. We started the process the last week in September 2016. Rushed to get the contract and financial documents completed and signed on September 30 (to take advantage of getting additional panel). We were finally online the 3rd week of February. It was not until March that PG&E accepted our solar generating system and began earning credit. So as you can see, I had moxed results. The finance part was frustrating and unnerving. The initial roof mount versus ground mount should never have been an issue but was. The install process was much longer than we anticipated and that was frustrating. The initial design looked awkward but that was eventually corrected (at another additional cost). And now we are not seeing the reduction in our residential electric bill we were told to expect.

We are so pleased with our entire experience. Sales people, technical preparation, plans and installation all went smoothly. The angle and panel height make caring for my roof easy and my neighbors that can see it think it looks great!

Everyone was very helpful from the sales Rep. , to the installer, to the financial loan officer. They all made sure I understand everything and was there to answer any questions I had. My solar panels was hooked up and running for a half of year and my electric bill has been very low and sometimes have a negative number. It has been way over 100 degrees all this week and I am running my air conditioning.

Sensational Solar System Satisfaction

Green Solar Technologies (GST) has been a very responsible, professional and caring company. Despite unexpected delays due to County Permit Procedures, GST kept me informed, explained the delay, and stayed in touch. If I phoned them, they either answered immediately, or responded within a very short time thereafter. They answered any of my questions much to my satisfaction and the information was precise, graphic and easy to understand. Of great importance and satisfaction was their ability to assist me in obtaining Zero % financing for 18 months. This is an enormous plus to any transaction. Pricing...I had interviewed 2 other companies and had actually signed a contract with one of them, but then I did more research and contacted GST during my 3-Day Right to Cancel period. After meeting with them,, I immediately switched companies, and am very glad that I did. GST is a "no-nonsense", honest and helpful company. They never mislead me at any time during the process. When I notified them that I had overlooked the fact that I was having a pool installed, they recalculated my program and increased the size of my system to accommodate the extra electric usage. They also found another lender who could offer the same Zero % - 18 month funding. I was soon notified that the permits were issued and within a few days, the materials were delivered...and by the way, all parts were exactly as advertised, with no replacement with any cheaper brands.. and 2 days later a team of experts arrived and installed my 28 panel system in one day. I was then briefed on the system, and told that they would notify my provider and set up the final inspection and installation of a second meter...my own solar meter. Obviously, I am a very contented consumer and would highly recommend Green Solar Technologies to anyone considering solar installation. They have also followed up with me to ask if I needed anything else, and they also offer a substantial incentive for referrals.
