Finalizing

All went well during the process of agreeing to buy and getting approved. Although it was not green solar doing the work. If not for self reliance energy who actually did the install explaining all processes and helping with paper work it would not have been pretty. Panels are not to be installed until approval from electric company. I was called by green solar saying they had approval. When in fact they did not. My panels are installed but unusable because electric still has not given approval. This causes me to make payments on panels on top of a electric bill. Which was not suppose to happen.our solar panels were supposed to replace or electric not add extra. I have tried customer service several times over the only thing I get is answering machine. I leave messages but they will not cal back

First Review

My bill from Valley Electric Association for 21 days from 7/23/18 to 8/13/18 was $l93.25. I don't know what is the matter, but I suspect that the system is too small for what I have in my house. I used, according to VEA, from them, 1735 KWH, to them 72 KWH, using a net of 1663 KWH. This tells me that there is something drastically wrong with the system, or that it is installed improperly. Needless to say, I am not very happy with Green Solar Technologies. Please get back to me .

somewhat happy

for as far of installation im very happy, but for everything else im not so, because my electric bill havent gone down that much,,for me not being home but about a week out of a month. and it was a ground instillation. and when the salemen said that you will get 1/3 of the price back in taxes thet are wrong you dont, they spread it out in about 6 years

Poor post-installation service

The 42 panel system was supposed to take care of all or almost all of our electric needs. After installation we still have the $500 electric bill that we did before installation. Sales and installation contractors are great. After installation, service is not good. I have contacted this company multiple times via phone and email over the past month and a half to determine why the promised production is not as promised, so it can be corrected. I have received no call or email back. I would not recommend this company to anyone because of the poor after installation service, even though the products and contractors used were great.

Not as good as advertised

I was excited to go solar. I was told that if I had an electric bill it $20 would be to much. Well reality set in. My install was completed in late September. My smallest bill so far (it is January) was half my normal bill. I tried and tried to get answers from Green Solar Tech, but I got the runaround the multiple times that I contacted them to see what was going on or if something was wrong. I feel that they got the sale and I was no longer important.

Mixed Results

While I am proud to say that I have a solar system producing my own electricity, there have been miscues on both sides. There is the financing side, system design side, and installation side. I am disappointed that I did not do enough research on my own as opposed to taking the word of the company. I would have been in a better position to ask relevant questions and for that I take full responsibility. Looking back, in the beginning things were rushed to take advantage of a special deal to get an additional panel at no charge. While I had indicated that a ground mount system was best suited for me due to the configuration of the house, the original quote was for a roof mount system. It was changed but there was an additional cost. That additional cost was then financed by a separate company which led to some problems. It took awhile to get things straightened out because our physical address was used as opposed to our mailing address. We never received any of the financial institutions statements because they were returned to them as undeliverable. That did get corrected but it was still confusing. Eventually in a call to Green Solar it was explained why there were 2 loans instead of one. Now everything is on track. Finally, the tax credit was really great! That part worked as explained! I am not convinced that our system was designed to meet our usage. I did send in the residential electrical data usage requested and indicated that for us a ground mount would be the best. Unfortunately I did not send in our Ag electrical data usage. The original panel support grid design looked awkward because we had 19 panels and it left an empty hole. The support design was suited for 20. So we bought another one to fill it and make it look better. But that additional panel meant the the inverter was undersized so it had to be upgraded. So even with all of this we are not seeing the reduction in our electric bill we were told to expect. This is the most disappointing. Is our system under designed based on our usage? I did not do an analysis on my on and relied solely on Green Solar's analysis. The installer was extremely professional in all aspects of the installation process. I was impressed by his workmanship even in less than ideal weather conditions. But it was a very long drawn out process. We started the process the last week in September 2016. Rushed to get the contract and financial documents completed and signed on September 30 (to take advantage of getting additional panel). We were finally online the 3rd week of February. It was not until March that PG&E accepted our solar generating system and began earning credit. So as you can see, I had moxed results. The finance part was frustrating and unnerving. The initial roof mount versus ground mount should never have been an issue but was. The install process was much longer than we anticipated and that was frustrating. The initial design looked awkward but that was eventually corrected (at another additional cost). And now we are not seeing the reduction in our residential electric bill we were told to expect.
