We used Greenpower for our install in New Jersey this past fall. Overall, it was a very good experience. We got a bunch of initial quotes through EnergySage, and spent a couple of weeks talking to both GPE and two other smaller local installers. Ultimately, we went with GPE because their price per kW was actually the lowest of the bunch and they were a larger installer with solid reviews. I'm glad we did. Our sales rep was decently responsive throughout the process. Some steps took a little longer, but they would respond to my follow up emails within a couple of days. They handled all the permitting and process - we just paid. When there was a small electrical issue after the initial install (just a couple of outlets in the house not working), they sent out an electrician at no charge within 24 hours and he fixed it right away. We've had our system running for about two months now and it's working well. If you want a solid and reputable solar company, I'd recommend getting a quote from them.

I had a very positive experience working with Green Power Energy from initial quote through Permission to Operate. The sales and quoting process was straightforward and low-friction, and everything was handled digitally. There was no in-home sales pressure, which I appreciated. Despite very high demand in the residential solar market, communication was consistently solid and responses were generally faster than expected. Everyone I interacted with was knowledgeable and professional, from sales to installers to post-install follow-up. The installation quality itself was excellent. The conduit runs were exceptionally clean and thoughtfully done, to the point that it made me notice how sloppy other installations can look by comparison. Cleanup was also outstanding. Based on prior experiences with roofing and exterior work, I expected a significant mess. That was not the case here. Green Power Energy did a particularly good job managing expectations around timelines that were outside their control, such as permits and utility approvals. They intentionally overestimated these timelines, which turned out to be a smart and customer-friendly approach. The project ultimately hit the PTO timeline we expected, with no major surprises. Most importantly, they consistently did what they said they would do. No installation is completely perfect, but any minor issues were small and situational, and none affected the final outcome or system performance. Overall, I am very satisfied with the experience and the final result. The system is live, producing as expected, and the installation quality is excellent. I have already recommended Green Power Energy to friends and neighbors and would not hesitate to do so again.

Wonderful experience, could not have been smoother. They took care to answer all of my questions and handled the full install with minimal needed from me. Every single person was professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. The crews working on the roof did an excellent job and left no mess behind. I had one single panel that was damaged in delivery, was the very last panel at the bottom of the stack, and they had a replacement and someone out to install it within a few days. Longest part of the process was waiting on my municipality and PSEG, but no fault of Green Power Energy, that is just the way it is. Would highly recommend them to anyone looking to go solar.

Have a system placed by company and have reached out time after time to discuss additional panels due to exceedingly high energy bills despite two person household most times. Nick gave me his personal number only to ignore my messages and calls again and again. Have been working with my township to allow additional panels but will def be looking to complete project with more professional company. Additionally after having original system placed on our roof, we found that Green Power had torn away roof shingles leaving only tar paper in an area where a panel was supposed to be placed but then moved. Avoid this company!

Installed 21 panel LG system three years ago. Was very happy with GPE until this issues arouse. Discovered last fall that one panel’s glazing failed. Service rep agreed based on pictures that it was a warranty failure. He then told me that LG doesn’t make panels any more. Rep said he would arrange to have a different manufacturers pane installed. Said it would take months to get a warranty replacement from LG. I read LG has panels to cover warranty replacements. It’s been 6 months since my original email. I talked to the service department twice as well as emailed several times. During my last conversation the rep told me I was low priority. Annoying but understandable. But 6 months is not accepatable.

It was a pleasure working with Green Power Energy for installing solar on my roof. From the initial consultation right up to the final commissioning, they have been reasonable, courteous, and have always acted in a professional manner. I was informed of every step through the Green Power Energy App and via email. There were some issues with the monitoring but their service desk addressed the problem immediately and got it resolved. After a horrible experience with a different company, I chose Green Power Energy to design and install a solar energy system on my roof. They were a great company to work with. They are knowledgeable, professional, and listen to their customers in order to design the right system for them. The design, permitting, interconnection, and installation process all went smooth without any issues. The installation team did a great job; they were professional, easy to work with, and installed the whole 25 panel system in 1 day. As an engineer and building science hobbyist, I am very informed on solar energy design principles, building code and practices, and have the appropriate background to see that Green Power Energy is paying attention to the details and doing a great job. Had my residential system installed a couple of months ago and went live about 4 weeks ago. Could not be happier with Green Power Energy and the system they installed! I did a fair amount of research and spoke to a handful of companies and was impressed with GPE's thoroughness, professionalism and reputation, as well as the quality of the materials (panels and inverters) that they recommended. Even though we are in the middle of winter, the system is cranking (on sunny days) and delivering (I know, I check the cool system app they provide like every hour! ha). Everyone I've dealt with at GPE has been extremely responsive and upfront. Special mention to my thorough sale rep, Austin, to Rick who came to do the site survey and answered all my questions (even the dumb ones), to Matt & Mike who lead the install and kept me in the loop and explained things as they progressed, and to David who came to meet with the township when they had their final inspection. Have already recommended GPE to one friend who has signed on, and expect others will based on my very positive experience.

Green power Energy has been a pleasure working with. Staying in contact with me every step of the way. The sales rep Austin Dow has provided me with a wealth of information and followed up answering all my questions within a timely fashion. He made me very comfortable suggesting multiple solar panal layouts until I found one I felt looked and performed to my needs. The panel Install team was on time, worked clean, completed the install on time, and cleaned the work site. Finally the electricians did a beautiful job, worked with my concerns of having exposed conduit on top of the roof which I felt was unattractive and found alternatives running wiring through my attic, and basement leaving nothing exposed. Because I had a family emergency they worked extra late one night completing the job a day earlier so I could be at the hospital the next morning. A Big thanks to Frank and Claudio. I work in the trades and can honestly say Green Power Energy has a great group of people!

GPE has now installed three arrays on my little farm in the last 7 years, and all are working well. They are very professional and friendly and do good work. Highly recommended.

I have working with GPE for 6 months prior to committing to the plan. It was a low pressure sales pitch, install done in a day and the service tech for the town inspection performed well beyond expectations. His job was to make sure we passed inspection and actually performed tasks to correct other electricians problems to make sure we passed the inspection! East to software and nice not to be electric bill’s anymore.

It’s been two months since our installation was completed and turned on. Can not be happier with the results. We got our first bill from Wallingford Electric Division for August, $18.00, that was the monthly user fee to be tied into the grid! Green Power is so easy to do business with. Signed the contract in April, install was completed in one day, third week of June, final inspection and system turned on by mid July! Highly recommend Green Power for your Solar installation!

A++ great experience

After RFP’ing 6 solar companies early this year, I chose GPE for my home solar project in March'24. Steve M. handled the sale and was extremely helpful answering my questions as I evaluated options over a few weeks. There was an unexpected gap in comms/progress in the couple of weeks after I signed the contract, but it seems GPE was just handling back-end engineering work. Their role in installation was informative and painless. I went with 20 REC panels & Enphase inverters, as well as a main panel upgrade to 200A. After installation was done, their team was happy to come out and reposition 2 of the panels since we determined more space was available than initially thought. I applaud their electricians, Frank and Claudio, and their installation team for all being skilled and pleasant. Michelle was very communicative and helpful throughout the process. She effectively bridged gaps between GPE's different teams to help things get done as quickly as they could manage. Our array finally went live on 8/28. The process was lengthy, but I mostly blame the delays on unforeseen issues that PSEG & the Township needed to handle. Utilities and municipalities are less than stellar at coordinating efforts, especially when involving multiple of their own teams. I'll also note that GPE is pricier per watt than most other solar companies. They say this is due to their expertise, especially in the tri-state/Jersey area, and I think that's valid. Their PPW was notably higher than my runner-up company even after GPE's limited time $1,500 discount, upgrade to REC panels at no extra cost, and price match of the runner-up for my main panel upgrade. I'm very happy I went with them under the circumstances, but I don't think I'd be as thrilled if I hadn't secured any of that extra value. Overall, I’d highly recommend GPE if you’re willing to pay more for their experience in the field and customer service. Thanks GPE!

We have had a wonderful experience with Green Power Energy. I have waited until we have had our Solar Panels up and running for a year before writing this review: - GPE answers the phone and gets back to you within the hour if they don't have an immediate answer. A couple of times I have called after hours and received a call back from the supervisor from his home. - GPE does a thorough evaluation of the house, electrical panels, etc. several hours were spent on site with multiple photos taken. - Because we wanted the panels on the back of the house on an area with a smaller pitch than normal, we knew that we not be able to generate 100% of our electrical needs. GPE estimated that the panels would generate 85% of our needs. Because of the low pitch and our back yard neighbor's large pine tree, I guessed it would be about 75%. After a year it came out to 80%. - I should point out that this is a long process (the reason for my phone calls). There are numerous inspections to be made by the utility company (eversource), the town, plus waiting for Eversouce to install new meters. So it took 6 months from contacting GPE to having everything up and running-almost all of the time spent waiting for inspections. That may seem long but we have had neighbors wait up to a year. - In terms of savings, I have made a spread sheet to calculate our payback period. I assumed a 3% return on investment if I had purchased the panels. Our total electrical rates have gone up 9.2% since last July so I ran payback at rate increases of 4% (7.3 years); 6% (7 years); and 9% (6.4 years). I highly recommend Green Power Energy for your Solar needs!

Recently got Solar installation from Green Power Energy. The experience was pretty seamless. There was no initial down payment to have someone come out for just taking a look at the house/electrical panel unlike some other places. While other places had a fully refundable amount I didn't want to deal with trying to get my money back should I not want to continue. Updates during the pre-installation process was periodically sent to keep me apprised of progress during permitting. Once the initial permits were approved installation took about 2 weeks to schedule and finished in a day. The installers were friendly and explained in detail what they were going to do and the options of where the equipment could go. They cleaned up after themselves. No complaints so far and would definitely recommend Green Power Energy to anyone considering solar installation.

Never tried to push me into committing to a new system; instead allowed me to consider investing in a solar system for almost a month. They worked around my travel plans, but finished the work on the original timeline. In the end, I have a system that produces more energy than I use, even with Connecticut's cloudy weather! Their software allows me to monitor my system at home or away.
