Exceeding Customer Expetations

So far, my experience with Freedom Solar has been amazing. Silvana Escalante has helped me every step of the way, and really helped me though the process.

Poor customer service

I can not believe how unprofessional customer service is. Even once I finally talked to a manager and agreed he would call me back he still has not reached back out to me after two weeks. I’m now worried about any warranty work.

FREEDOM SOLAR -WARRANTIES ARE A TRAP -READ ONE STAR REVIEWS

I went to solar on December 22, I found a problem with the solar production in June 2024. I immediately contacted Sunpower, they asked me to contact Freedom Solar. I contacted them too, at that time Sunpower was not even declared bankrupt. They said they are working on it, took like few months. I have been calling and technicians coming and going. In September I received an email from Christopher who introduced himself as a manager- "We are currently in the process of Submitting your issue to Enphase for review and possible RMA issuance (return merchandise authorization) this is so we can replace (if authorized) applicable /Micro inverters paid for by manufacturer so that you do not have to pay out of pocket (if authorized)". I emailed once again in October to check the status, I didn't receive any proper response. In November they responded with this -" to proceed with the diagnostic assessment, we would need to send two technicians to your property. They will need to access the roof, lift the panels, and inspect the wiring and voltages for the lines. The cost for this service is $500. Should the issue be found to be related to critter damage or a power surge, the charge will stand. However, if the problem is determined to be related to workmanship or falls under the manufacturer’s warranties, the diagnostic fee will be refunded." This is the worst decision I ever made going solar with Freedom Solar. THEY DIDN'T FIX MY SOLAR PANELS EVEN AFTER 6 MONTHS. I 100% agree with several people who gave a one-star review. All these 25-year warranties are BS don't get into their trap. Please read all one review before making any decision.

Freedom Solar Power Delivers!

Freedom Solar Power did EXACTLY what they set out to do and that was to effectively get rid of my really high power bill and get rid of the annoying short power outages. Sam Cochran came to my house and laid out a really awesome system that fit my needs. I was already under contract with Sunrun and I felt it was ok. Sam just asked if he could stop by and go over my needs. Best decision I could have made. Philip Aninzo is also a major player at FSP! They understand teamwork. I have an awesome battery and switching system from Tesla, best in class mounting system, Span Electric Panel and locally made 400W, sleek panels. My new electric bill is 1/10 of what it was. I sell back power for credits and utilize the nights free plan. Josh Wolfe who runs the service department is one of the best out there. He makes sure that any issues are dealt with quickly. Highly recommend Freedom Solar Power, they are the real deal. And no I don’t get any compensation for this review. I’ve had this system for 3 months now. I just wanted to share my authentic experience for those of you who are still on the fence.

Horrible customer service and maintenance service

I just had the worst experience with this company. Not only there were issues with the solar panel installation (which they actually fixed so that was good) but I called to schedule a maintenance service. I was told that the maintenance service, for someone to come out and check on my panels is $500!!! That is crazy!!! My panels are working but I just wanted to make sure that they are not loose after the strong winds - that’s is all! I would understand that maybe like $150-$200 because someone needs to come out (before fixing anything) but $500!! Who has that kind of money!! The lady in customer service (Ashley) gave me an attitude that I requested a call back after she sent me the email stating the cost. I wanted to speak to a manager to understand why anyone would charge $500 for a maintenance call. Like how would I ever recommend this company to anyone? How???

Terrible experience

They just left me with a heap of problems. Starting with unsafe electrical work. I had a master electrician inspect the work after I had concerns about the quality. He confirmed my fears that it js unsafe. One bank of solar panels are loose on my roof, and the whole room rattles when the wind blows. The agreed-upon conduit route was not followed, and instead they went around two buildings and had to install two ugly concrete boxes to do so. These boxes protrude out of the middle of my garden by 2 inches. This is not just unsightly, but it is a huge tripping hazard. The system under performs by around 30%. Whenever I try to get help, all I’m told is that they’ve passed my concerns to the operations team. No one wants to help. This install was over two weeks ago, and they just left me to pick up the pieces. Go team jetstars. Don’t walk away, run away. Run as fast as you can.

Atrocious experience after Sunpower Bankruptcy

To summarize. There are many "knowns", but also many "unknown unknowns" in the business of residential solar power. But their sales pitch makes it sound that they are on top of everything! As far as "knowns" - these guys are fine. But once something completely unexpected happens - that's all customer's responsibility! So - if you are thinking about getting residential solar - don't bother - the industry is nowhere near mature enough to handle this in a satisfactory manner. But if you are set - then definitely don't go with these guys because they will absolutely fail to deliver the customer experience they promise. Now for specifics: This is what they promise: Hassle-free 25-year power, product, and service warranty on the entire system from one company. Do they deliver? Like I said - absolutely not. I got my system installed fall 2023. Everything was fine more or less until the Sunpower went bankrupt. As first they promised that everything is going to be just fine. Monitoring will be taken care of. Panel warranties will be honored too. Now? Not so much. I have to pay $700 for new monitoring? Why? I already paid for monitoring when I bought the system! My panels' warranty? Nope - no warranty at the moment. Will my panels ever be warrantied? No idea?! And did Freedom Solar ever say - hey - let's figure out how to help you cover the cost of new monitoring - after all you already paid us for the original monitoring and it's not your fault - customer - that you are losing Sunpower monitoring. Nope. Did they say - hey customer - we will eat the cost of replacing your panels until we find who will warranty them - they cost pennies on the dollar anyways. After all - we care about what we promise to the customer. Nope. Most likely - just my own sense based on how they are acting - this company will be gone within a few years anyways. So - in conclusion - avoid residential solar altogether, but if you really really want it - definitely avoid these guys.

Initial communication was seamless. However at very end after the installation the communication was not that great. As I had to call in multiple times to understand the status. That could be improved a little. But I was lucky my agent was handy- text/ phone call away and was able to address my issues to him.

Everything was explained well to me and I look forward to the installation.

Excellent service

I ended up choosing Freedom Solar for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the panels they offer are high quality with a good warranty period. Secondly, my consultant (Sam Cochran - EC in Houston) has been an absolute pleasure to work with. He made sure to answer every single question I had (and I had A LOT) to make sure I was satisfied before making a decision. He sent over numerous proposals which I had requested so I could compare all the different scenarios. He also did not try to oversell me and made sure that what I was getting was reasonable for my situation. I've had the system installed for about 2 years now and have not had any issues. Recently I decided to add a second battery and I reached out to Sam again for advice. As always, he was extremely helpful and truly went above and beyond to help me make the best decision.

Satisfied Freedom Solar Customer

We chose Freedom Solar for several reasons: 1. Equipment: We chose quality. There are cheaper, less reputable, and inferior quality solutions available – we chose Freedom Solar for a reason. 2. Service: Robert Bradshaw, our Freedom Solar representative, spent HOURS consulting with me. He ran me through EVERY configuration I asked for. Additionally, when I inquired about “extra” products, he was candid with me about the pros and cons. He has my respect for many reasons. More recently, he assisted us on a non-sales related issue, for which we remain grateful. 3. Warranty: 25-year labor warranty. Plus, they don’t outsource their labor. We’re grateful for the solution. It’s delivered and I highly recommend Freedom Solar, and specifically Robert Bradshaw.

Excellent Experience!

We had a great experience using Freedom Solar for our solar panel purchase and installation. Our consultant, Spencer, did a phenomenal job walking through the process and helping us through each step. Two years later we bought a backup battery and didn’t even look around. Our experience was so great the first time that we went right back to Spencer and Freedom Solar.

Michael Carey and Team was honest, straight forwrd and did above expected job.The process was made simple and effective.My all call got attended and addressed. 10/10 for all the team and especially Michael Carey who did a fantastic job :)

Freedom Solar delivered on my Solar needs.

From start to finish, Freedom Solar was easy to work with. Zach Stirling, my sales rep, scheduled an examination of my house and the solar possibilities which was performed quickly and an estimate was then created that suited my electrical needs. The entire process took less than 3 months and and my power bill was reduced from over $2000 to just over $400 for the entire year. Freedom Solar also was with me all the way in regards to permits and all the things required of my local power company. I did not have to do much. Zach was always available to answer questions and constantly checked in with me about the project. The guys showed up on day, installed the system, and a week later after municipality inspection, I was using the sun! Could not be happier.

Roof Leek, and FRUSTATING Customer Service

after the Hurricane Beryl in Houston i have a leek in my house on the Panel area, that damage my master closet dry wall and my cloth, i contact freedom solar and after 2 weeks arrive to review my roof, the technician find and path the area that can be the leek, after they came the water stop the leek in my house. After a month they send a other company to inspect the roof one person from customer service call me and tell me that the inspector report that the leek is not associated to the solar panels installation. i request for more that 2 weeks the report and they cant send me nothing, also they never send a formal document, email o memo explain me nothing. their customer service is frustating

After researching 10 companies I choose to have Freedom Solar do my Solar installation. The consistent response, professionalism, and high quality technology were all strong deciding factors during my selection process. I Since my installation I have easily produced more energy than our 2000 square foot home needs on a monthly basis. It has been two years since my install and I could not be happier with the support I receive. Especially from Spencer, who is the representative I worked me with on my purchase. Even two years AFTER the sale, I can always count on him to answer questions I have about my system. I would not recommend any other solar company to my friends and family.

Awesome system and company

Everyone I dealt with from Freedom Solar was very helpful and professional - especially Shane Hertig who sold me they system. He kept in good contact and everything went smoothly. My system works great and it’s good to know I have reliable energy back up

Excellent Company

Freedom Solar Power is the only company that handled my project from end to end. All of the people I worked with were their employees, licensed and insured to work on my property. No other company could provide this reassurance.

As good as Willie said it would be.

We have been very happy with our array. More or less makes the electricity bill go away, and we really appreciate our sales rep Spencer Sobolik. Spencer is out contact if anything crops up, and that feels like a true luxury in a world filled with call centers. So far the paenls have also withstood some serious hail which is a relief, not sure other panels in the neighborhood fared as well.

Repair Department is a major challange

I have 10 panels that have been offline since June. Firstly nobody brought it to my attention secondly I have called multiple times can’t even get a hold of the repair team. Everyone tells my they have escalated the issue yet I have not received a call for 3 weeks and still waiting. I’ve spent 6 figures on my system and shouldn’t have to wait this long for repairs. Everyday I’m bleeding money and can’t get a repair scheduled. It really shouldn’t work this way. Horrible customer service.

FRUSTRATING!!

My experience with Freedom Solar has been extremely frustrating. The initial installation was great, with wonderful communication. It all fell apart once we needed our roof replaced. Dealing with long delays, poor communication, and unresolved issues is unacceptable. Despite multiple calls and promises of return calls, they’ve failed to follow through, leaving us with a system that isn’t functional and additional electricity bills. It’s incredibly disappointing when a company doesn’t take ownership of the problem, especially when you’ve gone out of your way to follow their procedures to maintain the warranty. They’ve taken my money and have left me with having to pay out of pocket for electricity costs with no indications of when-or if-they’ll reinstall our panels. As an educator with a newborn, these unexpected electricity expenses have been detrimental to our budget. Meanwhile, they continue to send notifications about referral incentives up to $1,500. Perhaps instead of recruiting more customers they can’t adequately serve, they should focus on reimbursing their loyal customers who have been left in a lurch.

Not happy

I was so excited about freedom solar they got out here and put up the panels within a month but now six months later and they still haven’t been turned on. I am quite unhappy with freedom it’s seems to be all sales and no follow through. They blame it on FPL but it seems to me that there’s no one doing any questioning of FPL my time line just keeps getting further and further away from ever going live.

Powercell Battery vs. Whole Home Generator

The Freedom Solar sales representative - Sam Cochran - presented to me why he would hands down select solar/battery back-up power with the Tesla Powercell 3 vs. a Whole Home Generator. Sam is a wealth of knowledge and is very financially and technically competent in the product that he sells. If you are considering a battery back-up power system, then Sam is your guy.
