Disappointing Experiences - Regret Solar

My experience with Freedom Forever Solar has been extremely disappointing. From the very beginning, the process was plagued with delays. What was promised to be a smooth and timely installation turned into a prolonged ordeal, with multiple missed deadlines and a lack of clear communication. I signed the contract October 2022, the system was not installed till May 2023, and was not operational until November 2023. The customer support was equally as frustrating. Every time I reached out for updates or assistance, I was met with unhelpful responses and a lack of urgency. It felt like my concerns were not taken seriously, and I was left in the dark about the status of my project. To make matters worse, the installation included an EV charger that, unbeknownst to me, was never configured properly. This came to light when the charger failed and neither I nor the manufacturer can do anything about it since Freedom never set it up properly for my site. When contacting their customer support, I am forced to wait for their "Monitoring Team" to respond to a ticket that could take anywhere between to 7 to 30 days according to them. Now I am unable to charge my car with a charger I paid for because Freedom installed it incorrectly and have to pay to charge elsewhere. Overall, my experience with Freedom Forever Solar has been far from satisfactory. I hope they take these issues seriously and work towards improving their service for their customers.

Freedom forever is Awesome!

They got me a great deal for my solar system in Wetsern MA! I have no clue why they have negative reviews. Their communication was great project was installed and activated in a timely manner and their price was fantastic! Other companies out here were charging 30-50% more for worse panels inverters and lesser warranties.

Terrible company

First of all Freedom Forever does not return calls, address concerns, return emails, fix problems or care at all about the customer. They damaged our roof, did not replace the tiles in a section and the system isn't even working. I have tried to contact them over 25 times. Everytime I reach someone they promise they will get the matter resolved. But, nothing at all ever happens. The absolutely do not follow through at all. I am beyond frustrated and have filed a complaint against them.

New Mexico Solar Tax Credit UNSUPPORTED

I have tried without success to obtain documents from Freedom Forever to qualify for the New Mexico New Solar Market Development Tax Incentive through the New Mexico Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department (emnrd). Specifically, they are unwilling to supply an Itemized invoice for contractor labor costs, which the emnrd application requires.

Avoid Freedom Forever

Terrible Customer Service and Warranty Practices I cannot express how frustrated I am with Freedom Forever. After purchasing my home, I found out that the solar system installed by the previous homeowner came with a warranty. However, when I contacted Freedom Forever to transfer the warranty into my name, I was met with stonewalling and runaround. Their customer service is absolutely horrendous. After multiple phone calls and emails, I was told the warranty couldn’t be transferred because of some arbitrary, convoluted rule they claimed was in place. No matter how many times I explained that the system was in my name now, and that I had every right to the warranty, they just kept giving me the same canned responses with no real solutions. It’s clear that once they’ve installed your system, they couldn’t care less about customer satisfaction or standing behind their product. Their warranty transfer process is a joke, and the fact that they’re making it nearly impossible to take advantage of a warranty that should rightfully be mine is infuriating. Do yourself a favor and stay far, far away from this company. I would never recommend them to anyone. Zero stars, but had to give one to post this.

Do not do any business with freedom foreever

Please do not go with freedom solar if you do your system is not going to install for atleast 9 montrhs I had a agent name Jaxton Villegas as personal exeperince please never sign with him he never returns any call or email My system after 9 months and still waiting for turn on.

Solar company incompetency

I started the process of getting solar in April of this year. We didn’t end up getting permits until October and installed on October 16th. Well after instal we went out to look at the work and found that there were screws all the way down our awning. We raised attention to this immediately we were then ignored for weeks until I brought it up when they came back out because the didn’t finish wiring it to our main panel and were supposed to put in a new sub panel (this was due to their own design issue they were going to try and charge us for and we had to fight) well someone randomly showed up and was able to wire it to our main panel as originally planned. None of this was communicated to us nor to one another within the company because during the next week 2 other people showed up to “work” on the sub panel but didn’t bring the required equipment. Well pge showed up to connect it to our meter to tell us they STILL didn’t finish the install and they couldn’t connect it until their part was done. That was on November 15th. Since then we have had the city come out for inspection twice and we have failed inspection because they installed the back up battery under a very small window under the bathroom and the company keeps saying that it is fine because it’s a none escapable window but the county is not having it and now wants them to move the battery. With this all being said the whole system has now been installed incorrectly and I am worried about them moving the battery because they cut into my drywall in the house and have not fixed that, they have not fixed the first issue of the panels being in the wrong spot and now they want to move the battery and probably will not fix all those holes causing so much damage to my house. Every-time I reach out to someone I just get told we are working on it and there is nothing more that they can do for me. My sales rep has ghosted me pretty much since installation has happened my project manager just says the same thing being he will reach out the his branch manager and they are working on it. I want this headache gone and removed off of my house. This company is literally incompetent.

Review of Freedom Forever and Michael Thomas II

I had a very disappointing experience with Freedom Forever and Michael Thomas II. Michael met with my husband and me to discuss solar options and promised that by installing new panels and using a PPA, we would no longer owe PG&E except for connection fees. He also assured us that the new system would generate more energy than we could possibly use, even as our family grew. Freedom Forever installed the panels and battery. However, the reality has been far from what was promised. In October, I received a PG&E bill for $229 in addition to the monthly lease fee. The system was incorrectly sized, and despite promises, one battery is insufficient to eliminate our need for grid electricity. The battery depletes after just an hour of use, and we’re still paying PG&E for excess power. To make matters worse, we were still on the NEM 1 plan, and now we’re paying thousands more for less usable electricity. Freedom Forever also claimed the project was complete before the battery was fully operational. It took a literal month for someone to come out and switch it on. It is baffling that companies allow salespeople to blatantly misrepresent situations and incorrectly size the equipment for the household’s needs. I even hired an attorney to resolve the situation, but despite his initial commitment to respond, Michael stopped communicating, leaving us without resolution. Freedom Forever has not returned our calls either, despite saying they would. Be very careful when making decisions with this company. Michael seemed knowledgeable, and we believed his promises, but unfortunately, they have not been met.

SCAM - DO NOT USE

Sales rep showed me what size system I needed and guaranteed the kwh production. The first year did not meet the production guarantee and I paid $350 in electric bills more than what the sales rep said I would. It shows the guaranteed kwh production in the contract and states they will reimburse you at a certain rate if you submit a claim for the difference of actual production vs guaranteed, but there is a loophole in the last sentence of exhibit A paragraph 2.4 that states they can change the guaranteed production to the actual production if between 85-100% of guaranteed production. This is why you need a lawyer to review everything you sign. I believe there is a case here to sue Freedom Forever as they sell you on the guarantee, but can change the guarantee. Pretty messed up.

Scam Company

Contracted with them to install a ground mount and back up battery. They never did anything so I cancelled with them and now there’s something on my credit report from their credit company mosaic. Horrible company that I am still trying to undo the mess they’ve done to my finances and they are the worst to reply or resolve anything. Do not trust them.

Expensive lesson

Salesman was pleasant but didn’t give us important information. You don’t get the government rebate in one lump sum and he didn’t provide the right figures for calculating amount of panels needed. We ended up paying on the loan plus paying our power company $190.00 a month which was double our original power bill. Freedoms solution was to install 13 more panels which we have to lease at another $79 a month. Terrible solution but we’re stuck. System has been down a week waiting for inspection with no compensation for lost production of solar energy. We are paying for Freedoms mistake. Caveat emptor.

Failure to comply with cancilation requests

Freedom forever is not complying with cancilation requests placed by mosaic to them on my behalf this is a total failure of cancilation request complyance and i am going to notify the better business burro!

Never received full amount for 1 free year promised

If you're in the market for Solar Panels, please beware and don't use Adam Hayes w/ Freedom Forever through Sun Run. Oh boy this guy is slick! He claimed he was not like the other guys but turned out to be worse. He promised us 1 year free of our contract for being a first responder family. We upgraded our system based on this "free year". After chasing him down for months, we only got a portion of the free year refund and never got him to respond or the company to honor this agreement. Yes shame on us, for not getting it written into the contract. He claimed it was just a verbal agreement and we had texts and emails proving the agreement, but it's been a lost cause and allot of frustration. The only good thing about it is, I won't have to deal with him trying to get any referrals from us!

From hurricane Milton

I called them the day of the hurricane after it came through and I was trying to get a quote to get our solar panels removed from the roof. They told me they’re 30 days on sending out a quote or giving me a phone call. No one has contacted me. I’ve contacted them multiple times and I’m still getting the same runaround trying to get my roof fixed and the only way I can keep the warranty is I have to have them remove the panels and have them reinstall it again

Shoulda, Coulda, Woulda

Should have done a little research before I signed any paperwork was promised a rebate, tax write off, and great customer service. I'm sure I'll get the tax write off but everything else nonexistent. After contract signing Could not get ahold of my customer service rep (complete solar pros) he never answers Phone calls, Text messages, or emails. I was told I would get paperwork to file for a rebate never received it. Have tried a number of times to reach out to my project specialist at Freedom forever. I don't think she exists. Started this in July now its November and system still not up and running.

Bad News Company

We signed the contract on 06/20/2020 on the verbal agreement that the solar system they would install would supply our every electrical household demands. It was a scam! The door-to-door salesperson did not know the business and promised a certain number of panels would supply our every need which they aren't. With the little power the panels are generating, our electric company and Mosaic bill each month, our electric bill is the same. What does Freedom Forever mean? It should mean Bondage Forever! We wanted to eliminate our large electric bill but that did not happen. Instead, we just redirected our monies. I have names and dates of all the people we contacted through the years and even the scrap of paper the salesperson used to justify his proposal. Do you think this company responded with sincere legitimate remedies to solve this problem they created? No! They did respond with insincere unprofessional pandering verbiage with no message but that of 'bait and switch.' The people that have contacted to address this issue on my behalf were my law office Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes, and the Arizona Registrar of Contractors. No resolve. I am left to think this company is concerned more about scamming people out of their money then integrity with a good name. My next move is a local TV station.

Stolen deposit

I had to cancel our project since we needed a new roof first. The contract says we should have been refunded within ten days. It’s been over four months of me calling and emailing. Definitely a five-star rating for stalling, giving the run-around, and stealing deposit money.

Horrible Service

I have really received the run around with this company ever since I first agreed to put panels on my roof. They do not respond in a timely manner and literally every time I have called, they can't trace my issues as they have so many different partners they pair with. They also sell your information to other places that contract with solar companies and so you will receive calls from other companies to discuss your panels and upgrades. Too many cooks in the kitchen and they usually pass the blame to another company they partner with when you call about a concern.

Very disorganized

We have gone with freedom forever for solar installation they are the most disorganized i have seen . They could not setup heat detectors which is mandatory for county inspection but were able to get approvals (back door). I can't understand this. No proper response from customer support

MOST FRUSTRATING EXPERIENCE

I am extremely dissatisfied and exhausted from dealing with this project. We signed the contract in early January 2024. It is now 10/29/2024 and we have had nothing but issues to deal with and the installation is not completed. For the last few months our house is a complete disaster with roof tile laying around our back yard waiting for them to finish the project. When we try calling our sales rep, Chase Blakley, there's no response or weeks later a quick note saying they are waiting for something. When I tried calling customer service number they said he was not working for Freedom Forever anymore!! Then I was referred to a VP named Otto. He keeps saying he was going to send me some options for us to finish the project but we are still waiting to hear back after a week. This is completely unacceptable and unprofessional! PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID DEALING WITH THIS COMPANY!!! NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE YOU WILL SUSTAIN.

Instalation

I went solar with Erik Davidson and boundless earlier this year and have been happy with the process and our bills with solar look great! If you are thinking about solar you should speak to Erik

ONLY PRODUCING 24% OF PROMISED

After one year of use system is only producing 24% of Energy that was guaranteed. Called and No help they are not honoring contract. Stay Away!!!! Do what I should of done and go with a reputable company...

Terrible

Persistent ghost calls that I never had before dealing with Homer at their Temecula location. I would never do business with these crooks who take liberties they have no place taking such as speaking on your behalf to the power company telling them you’re going to need a bigger breaker box at the pole when you go solar.! During a crisis, that’s EXACTLY what they did to me! I left a voicemail telling them NEVER to contact me again and suddenly I’m getting ghost calls that NEVER leave a message and are ALWAYS invalid when I try calling back - this NEVER happened prior to my dealings with this company. BEWARE OF THIS SHADY FLY-BY-NIGHT COMPANY!!

Fraud Company, Telling lies to trap customers

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with Freedom Forever, a solar company. A sales representative from Solar Pros, working on behalf of Freedom Forever, visited my home and explained how installing solar panels could save me thousands of dollars on my utility bills. Given the magnitude of the decision, I was hesitant to sign up immediately. The representative then mentioned a promotional offer that included a Google Home package from Safe Street if I signed up that day. When I inquired about potential costs if the project or contract did not proceed as planned and I decided to cancel, he assured me that the system was free and there would be no charges. However, Freedom Forever has been taking an excessive amount of time to process the project, and I have come across numerous negative reviews about their services. Consequently, I no longer wish to proceed with them. Upon attempting to cancel the contract, I have been subjected to harassment from the company, including threats to send the matter to collections, If I DO NOT Pay them $1200 which could damage my credit score, and to take legal action against me. Freedom Forever Lied to set me up for Contract, Please take action against this propaganda to fix Customers.
