Great Sales Pitch, Poor Execution After Install
I regret choosing Freedom Forever. To be clear, the system itself appears to function. That’s the only positive thing I can say. Everything beyond installation has been extremely disappointing. I requested a system performance review in October. What followed was months of chasing updates, multiple phone calls, and repeated assurances that my case had been “escalated.” Despite this, I received no meaningful communication or timeline. It ultimately took several months to complete what should be a straightforward production review. That alone is unacceptable. After the review was finally completed, I attempted to move forward and asked about options to better align production with my actual energy usage. I was told a separate team would reach out within 7 business days. They didn’t. No outreach. No update. No accountability. This has become a pattern: Missed timelines with no follow-through “Escalations” that go nowhere Different teams with no ownership The burden constantly falling on the customer to chase answers The most frustrating part is not the outcome—it’s the complete lack of execution and communication. Once the system is installed, you are essentially on your own unless you’re willing to continuously follow up and push for answers. If you’re considering Freedom Forever, understand this: the sales process may sound great, but the post-install support experience is disorganized, slow, and unreliable. I would not recommend working with a company that operates this way.

This is the absolute worst company!!! I spent 70k on a system that was improperly installed. We've found several leaks in my attic. I sent videos and photos back in February of '25. They've done nothing but make broken promises. I was told by Bianca (regional manager) that they would find a resolution and repair my roof. Once they realized how bad of a job their crew had done, they sent out a crew to tarp my roof. That was six months ago. My house looks terrible! Then, they came out and removed the solar panels 4 months ago. I was told that I am expected to continue to pay for a service I'm not getting. They are no longer responding. Bianca is terrible and should be ashamed! Do not work with this company!!

Bad customer service , don’t care about clients
Second time in less than a year our inverter goes offline, takes 3 weeks for anyone to get back us even with my follow up emails, now they say it’ll take another 1-3 weeks for “a team to check our system”. Meanwhile it’s summertime in AZ, a/c runs constant, we aren’t getting our credit through APS and that also means we are going to have a big electric bill. This solar system doesn’t save anyone money if it takes 6-8 weeks to possibly get a resolution. Meanwhile the solar company we make payments to filed bankruptcy but yet we still have to also pay the monthly payment on a system not working.

Our system was down for months and we could not get anyone form Solar Edge to respond, let alone come out and repair. We had to take time off work to hound them until, finally, after actually months, someone came and let us know the optimizers were all down. Then it took another 2 months to receive the parts and required me to contact customer service every week to check on the parts and then get schedule. They have now since been replaced and the system is working. But I would not recommend this company.

ONE OF THE WORST COMPANIES, Stay away
I deeply regret going solar with Freedom Forever. The sales team promised one thing, but the company delivered something entirely different—and claimed they were “fulfilling their promise,” which is completely false. The system they installed barely benefits me and has become a financial burden, eating into my home’s equity and making it extremely difficult to sell. The installation team was negligent, installing the system incorrectly. It took months to correct their mistakes, and throughout the process, the company made no effort to act in good faith or offer any restitution. This has been one of the biggest regrets of my life. I would strongly advise anyone considering solar to avoid Freedom Forever. I would rate negative stars if I could.

Freedom Forever's solar panels are a scam. Our home, the home of Donald (84 yo) and his spouse, Kai was first approached on or around 2/6/25 regarding the promotion of Freedom Forever's solar panel program. On or around 2/6/25 when the sales representative, Joshua, on behalf of Freedom Forever first introduced himself and the company, Donald was home but Kai was not at home at the time. Joshua explained that Freedom Forever's solar panels would be installed and provided for at no cost to us due to a grant that would cover the expenses. Joshua also added that the monthly costs would be lower than the city utility bill. Donald asked Joshua if this meant the solar panels would be "free." Joshua responded that was correct and that the government grants received would cover all needs and expenses. Accordingly, Joshua asked Donald for a recent utility bill and assisted Donald, and Joshua uploaded copies of our utility bill from December, 2024 for Freedom Forever's review. On 2/7/25, Donald signed the lease contract. Donald is hard of hearing, unable to read due to a diagnosis of macular degeneration, does not know how to use a tablet, and was assisted by Joshua in signing the lease contract electronically. At this time, Donald had not yet informed his spouse, Kai, about the contracts. On 2/12/25, Donald spoke with a representative who understood that Donald wanted to cancel. A cancellation ticket was created. Donald was confused and not sure what was happening. On 7/10/25, Donald signed the AZ Supply and Installation Agreement: Home Improvement Agreement. Joshua again assisted Donald for the same aforementioned reasons above. (This is especially concerning given Donald's attempt to cancel on 2/12/25 months earlier). On 3/14/26, Donald's spouse, Kai, became aware of the contracts signed by Donald with Freedom Forever. Kai became aware because a person named Chad had arrived at home to assist Donald with signing more documents. Donald had not yet informed Kai because Donald believed the solar panels were "free" and "covered by a grant." Kai then read the contracts and realized Donald had signed a loan. Kai explained to Donald that there is no grant or "free" installation. As of 3/29/26, our electric bill from the city of Mesa is an average of $132.70 per month. The projected monthly cost with Freedom Forever is $527.81 per month. This is nearly four times what we were paying, and Joshua had told Donald that we would pay less. Unfortunately, that is not projected to be true either. We currently face being stuck with this debt (more than 97K) about which Kai did not know and which Donald believed was not a loan or debt, but a grant or benefit.

This is the worst experience I’ve had with any solar company They were asked to do the permit modifications after inspection. The city turned around with in a day and emailed them to pay the permit fee I called them and the permit is not approved after 7 days. They didn’t do anything and I started doing my own digging. I found out that permit fee needs to be paid and they said it will take them another week because they have to go in pers. Finally I paid fee online on their behalf Then they didn’t schedule up until 2 weeks cos their tech wasn’t available. On the day of the inspection, inspector didn’t even come as he had already inspected earlier. He was ok with just the permit modification. One whole month wasted. Now comes PTO. A whole month has gone by and it hasn’t even been applied. They said they can’t file it as there is an existing application pending. So I can either cancel or they can transfer to Freedom. I immediately replied them to go ahead and transfer. I then kept on getting the same email texts from multiple people and I kept on telling them to transfer. They are an epitome of an incompetent organization; stay away

DISSATISFACTION
It was difficult to reach the appropriate technical personnel and to obtain clear explanations regarding the state benefits. As a result, we lost the opportunity to receive certain state grants. Although the project was installed and designed quickly, the PTO (Permission to Operate) process took a long time. Consequently, the system could not begin operating as expected, and the anticipated benefits from reduced power consumption were delayed.

Calling the office is an exercise in frustration as one department doesn’t know what another department is doing. Overall, pretty poor performance.

Freedom Solar 62025
I signed a contract with Freedom Solar in June 2025, and unfortunately it has been the worst experience I have had with a company. Many promises were made during the sales process, particularly by the salesperson “Solar Steve,” but the project was plagued with delays and poor communication. I did not receive Permission to Operate (PTO) until February 28, 2026—roughly eight months after signing. Throughout the process, communication was extremely difficult. I often felt ignored, and there were repeated visits required to correct issues that were identified by inspectors. Additionally, when the company removed my old electrical panel to install the new one, they removed surrounding stucco and left the area exposed to the elements around the end of December. As of now, that work has been completed. I am also still waiting for a service technician to come out and provide me access to the system settings so I can manage the battery configuration. Based on how things have gone so far, I would not be surprised if that takes several more months. Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating, and unfortunately I cannot recommend Freedom Solar.

Excuses for everything empty promises such as I’ll get a battery back up system if they don’t upgrade my service panel just to find out that wasn’t true unless I wanted to start the entire process over again risking the local utility turning me down. I’ll be honest I already feel like I’ve made a huge mistake by doing this program with freedom forever

Paid in Full. System Not Working. Zero Accountability.
We signed with Freedom Forever at the end of December 2025 and paid upfront through a loan for full solar installation, with the expectation the system would be installed and operational by year end. The Sacramento install team completed the physical install on December 31st. However, when the county inspector arrived for approval, the installation FAILED due to exposed hanging wires under the panels. What makes this worse is that the Sacramento installation team was required to be present during the inspection -- and they did not show up. The inspector arrived alone, the system failed inspection due to improper installation, and no installer was there to address or even acknowledge the issue. This was a mandatory step in the process, and they missed it entirely. Because of that failure, the system cannot be approved or turned on. Since then: - We have been paying our solar loan for nearly 2 months for a system that is NOT connected and NOT producing power. - The Sacramento team failed to show up for a scheduled correction appointment within their 6-hour window. - There is no direct way to contact the Sacramento installation or scheduling team. - Customer service repeatedly refuses to connect us to supervisors or provide last names (Jaycel said they are not allowed to do so or have a reference number of the recorded phone call) - A supervisor Jocelyn Paz promised multiple times to resolve this and it took 7 attempts and many follow ups for weeks to get reply over the email that service will come (which didn't) -No accountability. No urgency. No ownership. We are paying for a system that does not work because of their installation errors and scheduling failures. Customer service is unresponsive and dismissive. Management hides behind call centers. There is no escalation path. If you are in California -- especially Sacramento -- think carefully before signing. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences we've ever had.

Things seemed good at 1st. Everything moved smoothly thru the install but then stopped dead. All that is needed is to get the system inspected. freedom forever refuses to schedule an inspection, claiming they no longer have a license. The city and state dispute that, saying there is nothing preventing an inspection. I’ve called about a dozen times, each time they promised me that they will reach back out. Hasn’t happened yet.

⭐️ 1 Star – Consistently Poor Communication and Execution I began the solar process with Freedom Forever in September 2025. From start to finish, the experience has been marked by miscommunication, delays, and unfulfilled commitments. During my initial meeting with the sales representative, Jared Fawcett, I clearly stated that I wanted a system designed to cover 100% of my prior year’s electrical usage. I was told this would not be a problem. However, when the design plans were later provided, the system was only projected to generate 92% of my usage. After considerable difficulty reaching customer service, I was informed that correcting the design would require restarting the process and resubmitting permits. Since the discrepancy resulted from the original design not matching what was discussed, I requested the correction. This led to months of delay. In November, I was told installation would be scheduled soon and was again assured that once ready, installation would occur within about a week and take two days. The earliest available date ended up being December 10th, and shortly afterward I was told my home was in a “long-distance service zone,” resulting in the installation being rescheduled to December 15th–16th. I explicitly informed the company that I would be leaving town on December 16th at 2 PM and was told this would not be an issue. On the first day of installation, the crew was scheduled to arrive at 9 AM but did not arrive until 12 PM, citing travel time. During the installation, I noticed the panel layout did not match the approved design. I was then informed that the design had been changed without my knowledge or approval. I was assured the installation would be completed before my departure the next day. That did not happen. The crew was not close to finished, and I was placed in the uncomfortable position of having to provide access codes to my home and garage so work could continue while I was out of town. The installation ultimately took three days instead of two. After completion, debris including screws and bolts were left in my yard and driveway. Additionally, damage was done to my home during electrical work. A hole was drilled in the incorrect location on the exterior of my house, covered with putty, and then a second hole was drilled elsewhere. As of January 30th, the damage to my home has not been resolved, and Freedom Forever cancelled my inspection, further delaying the ability to activate the system. I still do not have a clear timeline for final approval or operation. In my experience, Freedom Forever demonstrated a pattern of poor communication, missed expectations, and inadequate follow-through. This process has required far more time and effort than should be expected for a project of this type. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this company.

12/26/25 UPDATE: Since I can't respond to their response, I can only edit...Freedom Forever responded quickly to a bad review but still haven't responded to the email I sent them over a week ago now. I just sent ANOTHER email. Also, the structure collapse had nothing to do with 19 months of the system not working. What a gaslighting response and pure lie. Their technicians don't know where they're doing. They're customer service is non-existent, and they're closing branches all over the place. DO NOT WORK WITH THIS COMPANY. Original Review: I cannot warn people enough to NOT work with this company. It took them 19 months to get our system up and running and the only person I could ever get answers from was my original sales guy. He was not allowed to provide any information to me on the project manager or any of the technicians. The system finally got up and running, and it is not producing anywhere near the amount of energy it is supposed to. It is a 12 kW system and only produces a maximum of 7 kW. Envy energy told us multiple times that the technicians had no clue what they were doing with the install and had to correct many of the things that they did. It took threatening legal action to get them to do anything. I sent in another claim last week and still have not heard back.
