I am extremely satisfied with the solar panel installation done by Mr. Reilly and his crew. From the initial consultation, the process was very easy to understand and streamlined. Jim explained everything very clearly and HONESTLY (no gimmicks and no fluff) and was very clear about the materials, energy production, and what I would get, while other companies provided inflated production estimates that were not possible. The entire team is professional, courteous, and the installation was very neat and practical. Mr. Reilly is accessible, answers all questions, and responds in a timely manner - they are dependable. I wish I had pulled the plug on this project last year when the federal tax credits were still available, but the price was extremely reasonable and still less than all other estimates I received. I feel I made the right choice and and I'm very happy I went with Celestial. If you're thinking of solar, definitely consider this company. Small(er) businesses are the best!

Just What I Needed

Satisfied with the installation process and thrilled with the end result. Everything went smoothly and I appreciated the various options for panels and batteries. The solar batteries already have kept power on during a neighborhood outage. I feel safe knowing that I can keep critical systems running and I enjoy lower power bills. One of the best things I have done for my home and peace of mind.

Fast install and quality system

Celestial Solar was recommended through others at work who used them for their solar installs. They handled everything about the installation. Once the permits were in place, the system went up super fast. All of our questions were answered, and the system is running perfectly. I love checking on the app to see our power generation!

Celestial came highly recommended by our neighbors, and they did not disappoint. We were trying to get our installation by the end of 2025 to take advantage of the tax credits before they expired. Jim was completely honest with us that due to demand, he would not be able to complete setup by year-end. Despite that, he was able to install our system at a great value which would be help offset the lost savings form the tax credit. Jim was available for all of our questions throughout the process and Celestial has great customer service. They are all local and the team was happy to work for Celestial. I highly recommend Celestial to anyone who is interested in solar and local Maryland business.

great experience and knowledgable crew

Jim presented the options for our home clearly and with various output levels, storage options and costs. He answered all our questions clearly and his crew installed the system efficiently and left the site clean and tidy. Inspection schedule was clear and on time. They also facilitated the connections with the energy credit trade companies answering our questions along the way. Their followup was timely and the system is running great! Love the $9 utility bill even with a half month under snow.

You Can't Go Wrong with Celestial

I couldn’t be happier with my experience working with Celestial to install residential solar. They came highly recommended from my neighbor. Between our roof estimates and solar estimates, I met with a bunch of contractors. Some are clearly just trying to make a sale. Some are pushy. Some you can’t wait for them to leave. Some you don’t feel you can trust. Jim I trusted through and through. There was no question that we wanted to work with Jim. The whole crew is very professional, respectful, super responsive and available, patient with questions (and I had a ton!), knowledgeable, etc. It was frankly a delight as far as contractors go. They get an A+ for communication. I always knew the schedule and what was happening next. Jim has also followed up after the installation as well to make sure everything is good and to see if I have any more questions. This also came together at the end of 2025 after the federal tax credit was cancelled effective in 2026. Even though Jim was crazy busy and quite uncertain if they could get it done in 2025, he still took my call and met with us (some companies wouldn’t even return my call or email). He was very upfront and honest about the likelihood of it happening in 2025. In the end they were able to get us in on time, which was awesome. This truly was the best contractor experience I’ve had, and going solar is a huge investment and a big deal (at least for me it was), so having someone like Jim to hold my hand through it and provide me assurance that it would be done well was super appreciated.

I am not surprised they have so many good reviews. Celestial Solar is a very honest, straightforward company that is a breeze to work with. They installed solar panels for us about 8 years ago. Jim came up with a really efficient approach to locating the panels on our roof and the system has been flawless since then. We wanted to add batteries for the past couple of years and I could not find any installers willing to work with us (Celestial Solar just started installing batteries). When I found out Jim had just expanded his business to include batteries, I knew I could complete this project. It took a few months because of the backlog of work but I was happy to wait. They did the installation in 3 days including the installation of a subpanel. The installers were very neat and helped me make sure I had all the circuits I needed. The installers answered my questions and configured the system correctly. Jim was very communicative and it was a pleasure working with him. The battery system meets all my expectations.

Added Batteries to an existing solar system

Celestial Solar had just started working with batteries and I think my home was the first where they upgraded an existing solar panel system. I used two 5KW batteries from Enphase. They added and wired a new subpanel and were really helpful in making sure I had the circuits I needed. The installers did excellent work, everything was laid out neatly in spite of the space being a bit tight. They made sure the system was configured correctly before finishing the work. Communication was quick when I had questions. I am very happy with the final system and it meets my needs.

Very thorough and professional

We contacted Celestial Solar from a referral in June/July timeframe. Jim Reilly, the owner of the company, worked with us on the design and pricing during our due diligence stage. Jim was very professional and courteous. He told us that they were backed up and it would be around Oct./Nov for installation and activation. He set our expectations and his team delivered it slightly ahead of schedule. The team did a excellent job of installation, working with the county inspector and Pepco on approval and activation. I was so impressed with Jim that I even referred his company to a close friend/relative even before the actual installation.

Exceeded expectations

The Celestial Solar team first put 35 solar panels on our roof—professionally, with care and to meet our needs. We were so pleased we expanded the panels to another location and added batteries this year when Celestial said they were now safe to do. It was complicated because we also have a generator and a remote location but they solved all the issues and we are so pleased with the outcome. We would recommend them and going solar to others.

Jim Reilly and the Celestial Solar Innovations team have been nothing but amazing in our solar journey from start to finish. We interviewed 4 different companies looking for the best fit for our goals and after the meeting with Jim it was clear that Celestial had earned our business. It didn’t hurt that Celestial had been recommended personally by two engineers at my firm. Jim was communicative and informative in a way that makes you feel respected as a customer. At no point during the project did I feel like we were left in the dark. Together with his team they designed our system to perfectly fit on our roof and at the lowest cost per kWh out of the 4. However, the customer experience, craftsmanship, and materials were a testament to the quality they bring to the table. Jim is an upstanding guy and we will be shouting Celestial’s name from our new rooftop.

Stress free and fast build, very pleased

I'm very happy with the installation and the overall process. They were very communicative and kept me in the loop at each step of the process. The actual install only took a day and we were up and running a couple weeks after that once everything was approved. Very pleased with everything.

We had a great experience with Celestial Solar, they truly lived up to all the reviews we’d read beforehand. To give you an idea of the quality of service: a few months after installation, we had a partial outage. It turned out to have nothing to do with our panels or the new fuse box, but celestial sent out an someone to check it out the very next day at no charge to us. We haven’t paid a cent for electricity since June and our SRECs have been steadily coming in. Celestial did an amazing job, we wholeheartedly recommend them.

Positive Recommendation

I’m very happy I chose Celestial Solar Innovations for my home solar installation. From the first sales visit to activation, everything went smoothly. Jim was responsive to all my questions, and the REC panels were ideal for my roof’s orientation and shading. Since installation, my electricity usage from Baltimore Gas has been zero, and I’ve banked over 2,200 kWh in credits. The installers were professional, accommodated my equipment location requests, and consulted me when changes were needed. I’ve even started receiving SREC income. As an engineer who works with air conditioning installation contractors, I tend to nitpick every detail, and this installation exceeded my expectations. After reviewing many installers and panel options, I highly recommend Celestial Solar Innovations and REC panels.

No hard sell, just complete professionalism

Went to the MD Home Show, talked for a few minutes to a rep. Arranged a sales call at home. Boy did I get the hard sell. That company misstated warranty facts, offered extensive discounts of I did things for them, and insisted on signing a contract that day or discounts would be lost. Took advantage of recession law and backed out after a day of reflection. Now finally I researched companies, and called Celestial. It was clear Jim knew everything cold, had clear answers to all questions, explained options, recommended against a couple of thoughts I had that would have earned him a bunch more money, and gave me a straight price that matched the other company, without all that company’s BS. The whole experience was transparent, professional, and entirely comfortable. All the paperwork was completed by the experts, all the T’s crossed, and our system is up and running, and looking great. I should have done more research, but having spent time with one of the worst companies in the business, I am pleased to report that I went with the highest quality company for our system. Select. Great service, Great product

We worked with Celestial solar (CS) following a recommendation from a neighbor. From the beginning CS, was transparent, provide helpful suggestions, was not pushy, and educated us on the best solutions. They provided drawings and sketches and were available to answer any questions all the way through the final step when they turned the system on.

Best MD solar company

We had Celestial Solar complete the installation of our solar unit at the end of May 2025. The whole team did an amazing job from start to finish - design, county approvals, utility company, SRECS, installation, monitoring system, and even helped me with a state grant program. Jim (owner) was always available and the whole team was super helpful and communicative. We had ZERO issues - so smooth. Our system was designed for 100% offset and we have out produced usage every day since install. The panels look great. We couldn't be happier with our choice. I received over ten different estimates from the leading solar companies and not only was Celestial competitive with the most competitive prices, but offered higher quality materials and completes all the work in house.
