Cape Fear Solar Systems

My neighbor reported squirrels on my roof so I decided to get critter guards installed on my system that was installed in 2023 by Cape Fear Solar. I made an appointment that was set in a timely manner and a reasonable cost and Justin Goodman and Dylan Watkins came today to inspect the system for damage caused by squirrels and install the critter guard. They found and repaired some damage caused by chewing and made a quick repair. They installed the critter guard (It looks great). They worked quickly and kept me informed as to what they were doing as they did it. They are a credit to Cape Fear Solar and I highly recommend them.

Our experience with Cape Fear Solar Systems was excellent, and I recommend them highly. Dar Hubsch, our contact with the company, was with us every step of the way, answering all our questions and holding our hands when we needed it. I'll miss him! The team leaders who worked on the various phases of the project were professional, friendly, and careful. I was especially impressed with the efforts they took to keep things clean as they worked. I want to mention Gabe Wood, Ulysses Ramos, and Tyler Duke as especially helpful and pleasant, and Derek Madrid was wonderful! The whole process was fascinating rather than stressful or disruptive, thanks to Cape Fear Solar Systems well-oiled process, and we were operational a lot faster than we expected. We were interested in the Tesla powerwalls and Cape Fear Solar is the approved company for Tesla. Caleb Timothy was our point of contact and he was wonderful from start to finish. He scheduled us an appointment within days of our initial inquiry then spent an afternoon with us going over exactly what they do, the pricing and timeline. He patiently answered all of our questions and we signed on the dotted line that same day! Caleb hooked us up with an excellent roofer as we wanted to put on a new roof prior to adding solar panels. His recommendation was spot on. Both Patriot Roofing and Cape Fear Solar Systems did exactly what we hired them to do WHEN they said they were going to do it. That is so rare these days. Both the roof and solar install went off very smoothly and we are very pleased. Cape Fear Solar Systems handled ALL of the paperwork needed to make solar possible for us from contacting our HOA for approval, submitting the proper forms, submitting the proper permits and working with our electrical company to ensure inspections happened at the right time and rebate forms were submitted; it was a painless experience. Additionally, Caleb has made himself available for any questions that come up for us which has been enormously helpful since we are new to the whole solar experience. All in all, a definite 5 star experience. We highly recommend Cape Fear Solar Systems!

After navigating a minefield of door knockers and shady salespeople from other solar “brokers” and after countless hours spent on research it turns out the best was just around the corner. We had solar installed as we were building our house and it was easy. Cape Fear Solar took care of everything. They communicated well with the builder and had it installed on schedule. We had to wait to have it hooked up due to a delay in the building, put once they had the green light they were there to connect. They also received positive comments from the electricity company. We just had our solar system installed by the very capable Cape Fear Solar Systems. We opted to hold off of battery purchasing so we could split the cost somewhat. We started with 3 estimates, and quickly boiled our choice down to 2 companies. Working with Dar, the salesman, we chose Cape Fear Solar. After closely following the installation process, I can’t imagine how things would work any way other than a ‘one stop shop’ approach. All of the personnel involved are professional and diligent in how they approach all facets of the system. I learned another thing: Solar is complicated! We used the Enphase IQ8 system — very state of the art…and what these things do still blows my mind. Safety was always first with them, and when I plan to add on our batteries, they will be my first call. Cape Fear Solar Systems is #1 in the Region for a reason!

We have had Cape Fear Solar panels now for 3 years. Their customer service is outstanding. We had already signed with another company when I called them to hear their pitch. They totally took apart our other deal, financially as well as mechanically. This system is even better than they claim to be! It will pay for itself closer to 6-7 years instead of the 10 they were quoting. I also like the fact that these panels are not made in Communist China but Taiwan and I believe other parts are from the Philippines. Our power company says it’s great working with Cape Fear! And our solar is bought back, so we are contributing TO the grid. Great job guys!!

I used this company to have a basis for my solar panels on my new house. They did a great assessment of my usage, roof, and environment. They came to the house after numerous meetings online (COVID) to finalize the project and check if 100% everything was fine. Everything financially was reviewed. Before starting, they took over all the communication with the HOA. Once approved by the HOA, the project was started. I now have 28 beautiful Solar Panels which cover 100% of my yearly usage. Would I recommend Cape Fear Solar Systems: YES.

Cape Fear Solar System installed a PV array with battery backup on my new house in Wilmington making it an energy net zero home. The battery backup ensures I never lose power even in the event of a hurricane. There is no solar installer I would recommend or consider other than Cape Fear Solar for solar energy needs. We have had our system for four years and it has been everything we expected. After the first two years, we were so pleased that we doubled the size of it and almost did away with our electric bill. The payback from savings is done in three more years. Then it is all savings. Cape Fear Solar Systems in Wilmington has been great. We had to have a new roof after Hurricane Florence in September. Cape Fear Solar removed and stored the panels while the roof was installed. The panels were not harmed by the hurricane.

It’s been about 18 months since our installation & the system is performing even better than expected! We have an all electric 3000 sq ft house & experience Duke Energy bill between $5-$14 year round! We conserve energy where we can but this system is amazing. Robert has been very responsive, setting up the monitoring keeping on top of Duke/Progress, etc. The installers worked around the rain on a rainy week. They called us to let us know when they were coming late to avoid the rain, etc. Great communication from the entire team.
