Great, custom experience

Cam Solar were able to work closely with my roofer to install solar on my new roof, and were very accommodating of their scheduling (and delays). The helped me extensively in working with Xcel Energy to be allowed to turn my new solar on, and my production has very slightly beat their estimates. I have already referred friends to them and shall continue to do so.

AWESOME EXPERIENCE

From start to finish it was an amazing experience. They worked with my HOA and got the permits needed. The install over a brand new roof went flawless. Loving my cheap electric bill, even in July!!! My one regret - I should of waited about 6 months since they now offer the powerwall.. I did email and asked and never got a reply trying to add it to my existing system.

One of their first CO customers

We were one of CAM Solar’s first customers in Colorado. We couldn’t be happier with our choice and the 18 kW system we have. We had some delays getting the paperwork right with Xcel Energy, partially due to the learning curve CAM Solar had expanding from TX. As an example of their customer service, they paid us for a month of our summer electric bill to cover the delay. We have had the system in service for nearly 3 years now. I have had a few occasions where I needed their advice or service. Jeff Bunge and the CAM team always come through quickly. We would use them again if we ever move and need another system.

Awesome Company

We only talked to this company and were impressed with everyone from the salesman to all of the crews that we interacted with throughout the whole process. Everyone was kind and patient with us and all of our concerns and questions throughout the process. We definitely would recommend CAM Solar if you are considering installing solar in your home.

Disappointed

From beginning to end we had nothing but problems with the installation. From them obtaining the permits to our person constantly changing to empty promises not for filled. We were told that our old contract with our electric company was going to be paid out and we are still in debt trying to make that payment. Our solar system was installed and did not work straight off the bat the turnaround time for the repair cost us to have a bill due that month.

What a great job

I can’t say enough. They did a wonderful job. Everyone showed up when they said they would be here. Everyone was professional and pleasant. When ever anyone asked who installed our panels, I tell them CAM Solar.

Five stars all the way!

From start to finish, I could not be more impressed by the professionalism of this company and it’s employees. My most recent energy bill during a hot summer was $23 (for gas) AND I received a check for $5. The installation was on time and well done. All of my questions were answered. My rep Chris was top notch. Thanks CAM Solar!!

Best financing rate, but 3 install errors. 45 days late overall

CS had the best rate (3% x 20 years) but literally never gave any heads up when they’d install, accidentally charged me for an internal conduit (they took it off), and installer errors x 3 (failed to connect system, didn’t tag system, installed wrong power box for Xcel) meant my system was delayed 1.5 months before Xcel would turn it on. Work quality seems good, however, it was remarkably poorly organized communication wise, and I’m annoyed I was paying a solar loan 2 months before I actually ever got solar power. This was all in 2019, pre-covid.

Great team and process.

CamSolar was best from start to finish. No pressure sales but responsive. Answered all questions and cut through the nonsense. They explained sizing and expectations took care of permitting and HOA with no hassle and then installed in less than a day. Finally they made inspection easy for startup. Best of all they included online app and can always know how its doing.

Great experience, very happy thus far

We chose Cam for our project as they had the best combination of quality materials, good reviews, and reasonable (not the cheapest, but not the most expensive either). They showed up when scheduled, completed the work as agreed and planned, except where Mother Nature caused some delays. We have been happy with our system thus far and are looking forward to many years of lowered utility costs in the future.

Great Job Installing Our Solar!

We couldn’t be happier with CAM Solar. Originally called them because they are a member of Tom Martino’s Referral List and Tom’s folks told me they have never had a complaint. I wasn’t sure if they would come out to our area since we live over an hour east of the Denver Metro area. I was glad to find out that Teresa Rios, our sales rep, said she would be happy to come meet with us. The sales call was a pleasure, no pressure, lots of info and Teresa is a really personable gal. We had some specific needs in mind. Because of the orientation of our roof we wanted a ground mount solar array. We also needed battery storage since my wife’s mother needs constant power for her oxygen concentrator. Not a simple system since it also needed to be integrated with our Generac generator. All in all Teresa made three trips out here and even brought an engineer out on one trip to figure out the best way to fulfill our needs. We settled on a system with 28 panels and two batteries. Once Teresa told us that CAM was becoming a certified Tesla installer that sold us. After all the research I had done I was excited that we could get Powerwalls since they seem like the best in solar storage. The wait for the Powerwalls put everything on hold for a while but Teresa stayed in constant touch letting us know the status. Finally the installation was scheduled in May of 2020. Kyle ( who I believe is in charge of all the installation crews ) contacted us and he and the gang arrived on time and got to work. Only then did I realize the complexity of the job. Equipment to drill the 2’ by 5’ deep holes for the ground mount, getting a concrete truck out to fill the holes, trenching to the house for the electrical. And that was just the outside work. The whole crew was great and put up with my constant questions ( and our dogs ). Meanwhile, inside the house, Justin ( who I believe was the main electrician on the job ) was busy mounting boxes and running conduit. That whole process inside and out took a couple of days and then the exciting part – the delivery of the Powerwalls. Those suckers are HEAVY! But Kyle and Justin got them man-handled into the basement and mounted that day. The whole project took just over a week. When it was all done Kyle activated the Powerwalls and we tested the operation. I had read on Tesla user forums that lots of installers around the country were having problems integrating the automatic transfer to a generator when the Powerwalls dropped to their minimum charge and shut off. Well, Kyle shut off grid power and instantly the Powerwalls took over. Then he shut off the Powerwalls and minutes later the generator kicked in. When he reactivated the Powerwalls the generator turned itself back off. Perfect!! These guys aced it first shot to work EXACTLY as we needed. We greatly appreciate all the crew from CAM Solar. Teresa, Kyle, Justin and all the rest of the crew were punctual, friendly, professional and got us up and going with a perfect system. We know everything works as designed, now if the State of Colorado would just get their butts in gear and come out to do the final inspection we will be power independent!

4 months ugly and inefficient installation

The salesman was very nice and answered all my questions, the only thing he didn't explained correctly was the part of the tax credit, but that is okay. I signed the contract in October and system was installed in February, and it was activated 3 week after. The first the deception was the visual impact, all the conduit was external looking very ugly on the roof, actually my neighbors told that will complain with home owners association (hoa). I called cam solar and they told me that I didn't choose conduit hidden under roof when I signed the contract (They never told me that I had that choice) and that if I wanted under roof will be very expensive. So, I asked them to at least paint it to camouflage with the roof. They sent a guy to paint the conduit, and he left a lot of spots with no paint and I had to do that myself. One month after the system was installed, one of the inverters stopped working. 3 days after an electrician came and determined that they have to replace it with another one and will come in two days to do that. Haven't heard from them. That is not all. Today the second inverter stopped working too, my system is not producing at all and called them. They couldn't give a date to fix the problem nor a solution. I feel very disappointed, and frustrated. Will take legal action if necessary.

worst investment I have ever made in my entire life.

If I could not put any stars, I would. I was excited to have solar panels, It's something that I have always wanted. These guys charged a lot of money, and in the end did the installation wrong. We even payed an extra 4,000 dollars for an inground mount system to get the maximum output out of the panels and in the end, they faced them the wrong way. Now, here we are with a system that only produces power for five hours a day. It is producing 1000 kilowatts less than what their production guaranteed which is the minimum production and they are not willing to do anything until the second year, knowing the installation is wrong but. At first when I called about this problem, a young man tried to fool me and say I do not know anything regarding this. After many calls and going a person above this man, they finally admitted that they knew about the problem since the very beginning. They just do not care. I have called many times and they are very unprofessional by not giving me a solution, even though they have admitted to the problem. The owner is not willing to repair it as he doesn't want to lose money. In the end they said, I would be lucky for them to install extra panels. DO NOT PAY ANYTHING UNTIL YOU KNOW ITS WORKING FINE.

A good experience!

We had looked into Solar about 5 years ago, and then the company we were working with at the time kind of dropped the ball when the sales person left. Fast forward 5 years, and after filling out one of those internet forms saying I was interested in solar, CAM Solar was the best reviewed company of the ones that got in touch with me. Their sales guy was very low pressure, and was knowledgeable about the product, federal tax rebates, etc. And the price was less than half the quote from 5 years ago, with a higher output! So we pulled the trigger. They did the installation quickly and professionally, and we couldn't be happier with the system. I recommend CAM Solar if you're looking for a comfortable, local installer. And don't forget that the tax rebates are getting cut in half and then going away in the next couple of years (barring a new government that might extend them, of course).

A very easy company to work with

They were great to work with the kept me informed every step of the way. If there was any question they always answered it. Their workers were always very punctual and polite and nice to have on the property.

CAM Solar was wonderful to work with for solar install!!

From the sales, to the install, to the handoff..... well, handoff is still pending. We just got our system turned on this week and it is working as expected. And we are just waiting for someone to come give us the warranty paperwork and the instructions on how to setup the monitoring system. But the whole process up to know has been very pleasant. Alex Mendiola, our solar expert, was not high pressure sales. Answered all my questions and gave me time to validate his answers. Came back 3 times! Wow! The install was a breeze. We were fortunate to be installed and activated within 5 weeks. The install was very professional. The installers obliged me when i asked them to run conduit through the attic and not down the side of the house. This allowed the conduit to run in a way that is hard to be seen from the street. The result is that it is hard to tell that there is electrical conduit on the side of the house. Oh, did i mention that of all the decent installers we interviewed, CAM Solar had the best price for the highly efficient Panasonic HT panels? By far, they had the best price! I'm very pleased with these guys up to know and i highly recommend them.

They gave a fair bid, completed the work on time, passed all inspections on first try, and have been helpful post sale.

Lots of promises

The salesman for our initial meeting with CAMSolar was very nice, knowledgeable, and able to answer all our questions. But when it came time for the installation, we had issues. Certain piping needed to be redone, the critter guard took a long time to be finished, the app and website still don't do what we were told it would do with a map of our system. We contunually called our contacts to check on things, have things redone, and they were responsive to us, but the process seemed clunky and extremely drawn out. We did have to contact multiple people to get answers to our questions. For the official turn on, we were told someone would walk us through things in person, and it turned out that I called them and they told me over the phone because they wouldn't be able to come out for a while. Not long after our system was up and working a device malfunctioned and we were out for a few days until it was replaced. That process did go well and it was covered under the warranty. I'm glad we have solar, but the process wasn't smooth and the app and website are not what was explained to us.
