Ambrose Solar

I was referred to Ambrose Solar by a friend so I called and talked to Kevin and he spent a few hours going through the design. He was very patient with me trying to decide how big the system needed to be. I had a great installation crew that was at my house for two days, they were professional and very cordial. I had a nice surprise because I was assisted by Stephanie Reiser to submit an application for a SGIP Rebate from PG&E and rewarded with a check to cover part of the battery cost. I would highly recommend Ambrose Solar, they care enough to do a good job and are a local company.

We had a solar battery installed on our new home by Ambrose and had a great experience from beginning to end. Their team was professional, communicative, and had great follow up to ensure we were getting max impact from our system. We got a few quotes but appreciated the great reputation and all that Ambrose offered. We highly recommend working with them if you have a solar project!

Ambrose Solar installed our 20-panel system about 18 months ago. It has worked perfectly the entire time. Every person with whom we worked was friendly and professional, ranging from the estimator (Mark), the project managers (Vincent and Austin), the installers (a very friendly and hard-working crew whose names I cannot remember), and finally to the great Stephanie Reiser, who was indefatigable in pursuing my rebate from PG&E SGIP program. The rebate was a problem because the equipment and solar lease were originally from SunPower, which was acquired by SunStrong, shortly after the installation was completed. The transfer of ownership was confusing to PG&E, who were administering the rebate program. Stephanie corresponded with all parties from before the installation, until just recently, when the rebate was finally approved. All in all, she must have written and responded to at least 50 emails on the subject, all the while keeping me informed of the progress. As a professional mechanical engineer (retired), I highly recommend Ambrose Solar and its excellent staff.

I would like to write a quick review of my experience with Ambrose solar... I think my decision to finally put solar on my roof took more than a year to make and every step of the way from Kelsey who was my sales person to Vincent my project manager and Mike my closing meeting specialist was a seamlessly professional experience. My project was made difficult by a few complications with my house not the least of which was the need for a new roof and a solution for not having a 200 amp feed from PG&E into my house. Those guiding my experience at Ambrose were beyond patient, as I asked them to explain things over and over again. When it came to the actual installation, I was completely blown away by the crew that Ambrose sent... to call them. Professional was a complete understatement. Imanol led the crew on the roof and just got the job done so fast! Tony dropped what he was doing every single time I asked him a question and explained things to me so clearly! Nate did the same thing while he was installing the Span panel. What was clear the entire time was that all representatives of Ambrose solar understood what a big decision. This was for me and my family. They took it seriously and helped me, a complete Luddite gain an understanding of what was ultimately a pretty complex project.

Paul Karst and everyone at Ambrose Solar made everything so easy. Paul is highly knowledgeable about all aspects of the solar industry. He and his team were easy to reach, answered all my questions and concerns. The process and results all went smoothly.

Worked with Paul and the team to install solar panels on our recently purchased home back in 2020. After doing a lot of research, I knew I was getting a good product (SunPower panels), with reasonable financing options, and the work would be done by a reputable company in Ambrose Solar. Almost 5 years in, I have no complaints. We produce more power than we consume, with room for new electric vehicle or hot tub if we wanted. They also have a nice referral program if you know anyone in need of solar.

I’ve had my system for 2 yr. Installation was done timely. No problems. Ambrose took care of permits. Very responsive to calls. System has worked well and exceeded expectations w/r to energy savings! Had a problem with a connection after a year. Ambrose fixed it at no cost. Highly recommend!

Absolutely thrilled with my solar system from Ambrose – 4 years later and still going strong! From start to finish, the installation process was seamless. Planning, permits, inspection, and PTO all went off without a hitch – no surprises, no delays. The team at Ambrose was professional, communicative, and clearly knew what they were doing. Four years in, I’m still seeing the benefits. My system was sized perfectly, and I actually end up with a small annual true-up credit. Even better, I’ve been completely insulated from PG&E’s constant rate hikes – my energy costs are stable and predictable. One of the best decisions I made was including a battery. I live in an area heavily impacted by PG&E’s Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS), which has already triggered nine power outages this year alone. Thanks to the battery backup, I barely notice. My lights stay on, my fridge keeps running, and I’ve even been able to share my Wi-Fi with a neighbor so they can keep working during blackouts. Neighbors constantly ask how I’m managing to stay powered through these outages, and I always point them to Ambrose. I genuinely can’t say enough good things about the system or the company. If you’re considering solar, this is the team to go with. One of the best home decisions I’ve ever made.

When it comes to the solar panel field, this is the best when it comes to experience. First of all in dealing with people, they don't have any so called gimmicks to hook you, meaning straight forward, try it they will not let you down.

As always, our experience with Ambrose Solar was amazing. I called them to ask why our consumption differed vastly from what PG&E was reporting. We didn’t know if it was an app problem or meter problem or what! Justin took the time to research all possibilities and figured out what the issue was. Their technician Arnulfo came out and quickly resolved the issue and now our consumption very closely aligns with what PG&E says we’re consuming. Both gentlemen are very patient and friendly and professional. We are still very satisfied with Ambrose Solar and would recommend them!

I chose Ambrose Solar located in Vacaville CA to install 2 Tesla Power Plus solar panels; after performing extensive research and comparisons. They not only have an A+ BBB and Top 5 service rating but provided me with a 'Before', 'During' and 'After' professional and quality service experience that has me feeling like I've just dined at a 5 Star restaurant that is so outstanding I have to let everyone know about it. They provided not just an installation but an education and total package experience. That Ambrose Solar Service; as explained in my out brief extends through the life of the warranty and provided by Ambrose Solar directly. I'm doing that happy dance! If you're looking for a quality, involved solar company that lives up to its ratings, choose Amber Solar in Vacaville California!

After evaluating a few solar company options we decided to work with Ambrose Solar as our installer. Adam Hedemark was our primary contact for Ambrose. He was extremely patient and informative throughout the selection process. I appreciated his honesty and candor during our discussions. The installation crew were professional and courteous. They kept us abreast of their activities and always provided us an opportunity to ask questions. As the project came to a close the owner of Ambrose reached out to ensure that we were satisfied with the end product. Overall, we are very pleased with Ambrose. They were there every step of the way from initiation to completion. Any inquiries I had were responded to in a timely manner by the excellent office staff. I would highly recommend Ambrose for your home solar needs! Thanks to Adam and Ambrose, we are happily solar powered!

I originally posted a review about them because they never got back to me at all about the day of installation and power being out when it was over 100 degrees. I also commented on the fact that the salesperson never got back to me about the final layout and panel reduction. I had to deal with this the day of installation. The service advisor (Vincent) never bothered to call until after the posting. I understand things happened and of course they responded after a bad review so I fairly, posted the following review, but the lack of service sontinued. 10/4 -This is another follow up from my original review. They did reach out after the previous bad review and once I updated the review, the communication dropped off and still can't get a call back from them. Originally it was Vincent and then started dealing with Bri and now can't get a call back again. I called first thing this morning and they said she would call me right back and of course...nothing. Facts: They installed the equipment Oct 2 and 3rd. Did not file the paperwork with PG&E until Oct 14th. No contact from anyone. I called PG&E the other day and they said they had not received a document from Ambrose. Ambrose says they provided it and will give me an update. I haven't heard anything since. Now, it definitely could be PG&E, but given the experience with Ambrose, I have doubts. It is now Nov 15th and my system is till not turned on and I am paying the Solar loan and PG&E. No offer whatsoever from Ambrose to help make things right for their customer. just blame PG&E and then not call back. I am now paying for solar and PG&E at the same time. They can blame PG&E, which I am sure has some bearing on this but they waited 11 days later to file the paperwork and it appears that they did not include a document that was needed and only addressed it once I called PG&E. That is when they said they would have someone reach out to PG&E. I am having an attorney look over the contract because I worry about trying to deal with them in the future should something go wrong. They praised themselves on customer service when I was signing up but they have not lived up to it at all. Only the installation team has been great. The office, not at all. Unfortunately, that is who you will have to deal with if you have any issue. Buyer beware. They do sound great, like any salesman but once they have your money, you don't have any importance to them. The bets part of this is that I called them today (Bri) to actually get a name for a new contact for a salesman, since my original one never got back to me in the end about the final layout and had to deal with it the day of installation. I obviously won't be passing on their info. Please think twice about using these guys. I don't have trust in them as a business and unfortunately I am stuck with them now and will have to deal with them in the future if anything goes wrong.

After conducting research and discovering Ambrose Solar's impressive 5-star rating on Yelp, along with consistently positive reviews, I made the decision to cancel my installation appointment with a competitor. Unfortunately, the competitor's persistent lack of communication and frequent rescheduling of the installation were unacceptable. I am confident that Ambrose Solar will provide the professionalism and reliability I seek in this important endeavor. I wanted to express my utmost satisfaction with Ambrose Solar as a SunPower Dealer. Their team went above and beyond in explaining the benefits of the SunPower system, leaving me with no doubt that SunPower was the ideal choice for powering my home with solar energy. I am writing to express my appreciation for the outstanding and highly professional installation performed by Ambrose Solar. Every technician involved in the process surpassed my expectations. The installation of the MPU, and solar system was particularly impressive, with exceptional cable management and a clean, neat setup. My decision to install home solar included research of 5 different equipment combinations and 4 prospective installation companies. Equally important was my choice for roof replacement to immediately precede the solar. All work was thoroughly completed to my satisfaction in the summer of 2023. I’ve waited until now to provide my review because I wanted it to include results for actual performance and on-going support. Bottom line: no regrets and much gratitude… Both companies get my highest ratings for work quality, material/equipment integrity, reliability and on-going service support. Each also was excellent in follow through on their commitments to the permitting/authorizations processes and to overall smooth coordination between the re-roofing and solar install. I have the benefit of two companies that know what they are doing and do it well. and are totally reliable for on-going support and follow-up as necessary. I recently had solar panels installed by Ambrose Solar, and the entire experience was outstanding. From my first call to their office, the staff was friendly and knowledgeable, guiding me through every step with ease. The consultation was thorough and tailored to my energy needs, and their transparency made me feel confident in my decision. The installation team was equally impressive, arriving on time and working diligently while protecting my property. Recently we had a battery backup installed for our older solar panels. We consulted with two different companies and decided to go with Ambrose Solar after talking at length with Carson. He spent lots of time with us going over our numerous questions. We were impressed with his expertise and detail with his answers, that we look for. One of the many reasons that we chose Ambrose was because in their pricing they were going to handle everything from start to finish including helping us go through the extensive paperwork with PGE to get our rebates and approvals for the battery. Stephanie in the office was a gem in doing the project management and all the paperwork. Every step was expressed to us before it occurred, so that we knew what was going to happen, and what we needed to do on our part. We had no idea how complicated the paperwork was with PGE, and I'm sure that we would be wasting our time trying to figure it out ourselves had we had to do it on our own. And we are paperwork and detailed people. Besides Stephanie and Carson's help, the installers did a great job. They kept us abreast of their timeline for the two day installation, and we appreciated the communication. At the end of the process Carson spent time explaining the Tesla app and even suggested things we could do in the future to lower our PGE costs. We cannot say enough about the company and staff, and the system is working great thus far. Thank you Ambrose!

We needed a 2 batteries installation to provide electricity in case of power interruptions from PG&E. The team from Ambrose Solar did an excellent job in installing the batteries and in providing the monitoring and control app for our cell phone. Thanks to their help ,we also obtained from PG&E 15% of the cost of the installation ,a refund available under the SGIP, the Self Generation Incentive program.

Why did we wait so long?? The experience with Ambrose Solar was stream less. From the estimators to the office staff and the installers. The panels do exactly what they said they would do. Our energy cost have decreased to near nothing. They were patient with all my questions. Even after being installed and up and running, when new laws were in the process regarding solar they were up to date on info and had no hesitation clarifying. This company is rare in todays world. I truly believe that you are only as good as those you surround yourself with in life and business. I was very please with the work done by the crews who came to my house to remove my old solar array, instal a new solar array, and instal a battery backup system. Each crew was very respectful and answered all of my questions in a manner which showed an interest in improving my understanding of the process.

Ambrose Solar is hands down the best company for your solar needs. I shopped around with a few other companies and no one beats Ambrose Solar's customer service, knowledge, and professionalism. Ian spent many hours with us explaining options and answering all of our questions. The office staff was very prompt, responsive and made sure we knew next steps and timing. The team that installed our system kept us updated throughout the process, and did a great job. No need to look anywhere else!

Excellent product + Excellent Service = THE BEST. We got several quotes before going ahead and choosing Ambrose. We liked that they used Sun Power Solar Panels and their whole presentation, including an excellent warranty. The person that we originally met with, Paul Barber, was great. He put everything in easy to understand "solar" language, and made sure we understood everything, from the product, to the installation, and how it all works once its turned on. The person that we dealt with through the installation and payment process was Carissa Warren. She was equally as good and easy to work with. They were absolutely spot on with the quoted time frame for completion. They were also very easy to get in touch and communicate with. All questions were answered promptly and patiently. Before picking Ambrose Solar, I shopped around and spent ~20 hours comparing 10 quotes from top-rated companies on Yelp and EnergySage. Out of all the quotes, I went with Ambrose because they had the best combination of high quality equipment (REC Alpha Pure Black & Enphase micro-inverters), 25 year warranties on labor & equipment, competitive pricing, and reviews & customer service I knew I could trust. I 100% made the right call as getting solar installed with Ambrose has been easier than getting my toilet fixed! Kelsey helped me design the right solar system for my current & future power needs, Noelle & Gracious ensured the installation moved quickly from one stage to the next. And every Ambrose person arrived on time or early - every single time. From the initial site visit, to the main panel upgrade, to the installation, to the final inspection things went insanely smoothly. My 5.2 kw system is now generating more than enough power to cover 100% of my current electricity needs with plenty of buffer. If you're tired of high utility bills thanks to PG&E rate hikes every few months, or want cleaner electricity, Ambrose is 100% the way to go!

It's been 2 years since I had my solar installed by Ambrose Solar. I'm so happy. Originally I was thinking I only needed a 7kw system but after meeting with the Solar Specialist and discussing my usage and adding an EV in the future I ended up with a 10kw system and I am so GLAD I did. I love the monitoring app. (I check it more than I need to.) With all the NEM/PG&E changes its a scary time to not have solar. I highly recommend Ambrose Solar. Trust me, they truly are the BEST in Solano County.

Ambrose Solar was absolutely amazing! I did some research on a few different companies but I kept coming back to Ambrose being at the top of my list. So, I went ahead and signed with them. I started working with David Northup and he was so awesome from the start to finish...and really, still is! I couldn't have asked for him to be any better, seriously. He was/is on top of everything. I ran into a couple of small snags during the process and he fixed them SO quick, really the moment he heard of them...even got my panels on ahead of schedule. Not very many companies solve issues like this, big or small, it was a breath of fresh air. I also worked with Brie and she was so amazing too! She keep me up to date on the process the whole way through. There was not a day that went by that I didn't know what was going on. This is probably one of the most important things to me too so this meant so much to me! The crew that came out to install the solar were super professional and did awesome work! They communicated with me the whole time as well. I would 100% recommend Ambrose Solar. They were amazing from the beginning of the project until the end. I heard horror stories about some solar companies but they are not one of them! I never post reviews either, even when I'm upset with a company so that shows you how happy I am with Ambrose.

Before I go into a whole paragraph on how amazing this company did. I want to disclose I have the worse luck ever.. with anything. With that being said. WOW what a smooth process! Me and my boyfriend had no idea where to start we just knew we wanted solar. Chelsea SOLD us. She explained everything so well, walked us through a breakdown of the process and what to expect. She set us up with Ian who FaceTimed us to get the ball rolling and I really have to say he was such a pleasure! We were nervous and he made it so comfortable to talk to, express concerns and make sure we're getting the best deal for us. Installation was the next step and although we were told ETA of our panels could be a little longer due to conditions. We were contacted the whole time until our initial installation, Noelle was awesome! Kept us in the loop with every step. And honestly they came in pretty quick! Pat called to scheduled installation and gave us a couple days to pick from that would best work for our schedule. He was so patient. He let me call him back so I can get my affairs in order. Installation day finally came and Jose and his team seriously killed it. Very respectful, told us what to expect and his crew even cleaned my yard up and checked for any trash on the way out. When I say my Experience was awesome I mean it whole heartily. This company took care of us. I will forever recommend Ambrose solar! Thank You so much! Such an amazing team!
