A local company you can trust

I was referred to Ambrose Solar by a friend so I called and talked to Kevin and he spent a few hours going through the design. He was very patient with me trying to decide how big the system needed to be. I had a great installation crew that was at my house for two days, they were professional and very cordial. I had a nice surprise because I was assisted by Stephanie Reiser to submit an application for a SGIP Rebate from PG&E and rewarded with a check to cover part of the battery cost. I would highly recommend Ambrose Solar, they care enough to do a good job and are a local company.

Not dependable

I originally posted a review about them because they never got back to me at all about the day of installation and power being out when it was over 100 degrees. I also commented on the fact that the salesperson never got back to me about the final layout and panel reduction. I had to deal with this the day of installation. The service advisor (Vincent) never bothered to call until after the posting. I understand things happened and of course they responded after a bad review so I fairly, posted the following review, but the lack of service sontinued. 10/4 -This is another follow up from my original review. They did reach out after the previous bad review and once I updated the review, the communication dropped off and still can't get a call back from them. Originally it was Vincent and then started dealing with Bri and now can't get a call back again. I called first thing this morning and they said she would call me right back and of course...nothing. Facts: They installed the equipment Oct 2 and 3rd. Did not file the paperwork with PG&E until Oct 14th. No contact from anyone. I called PG&E the other day and they said they had not received a document from Ambrose. Ambrose says they provided it and will give me an update. I haven't heard anything since. Now, it definitely could be PG&E, but given the experience with Ambrose, I have doubts. It is now Nov 15th and my system is till not turned on and I am paying the Solar loan and PG&E. No offer whatsoever from Ambrose to help make things right for their customer. just blame PG&E and then not call back. I am now paying for solar and PG&E at the same time. They can blame PG&E, which I am sure has some bearing on this but they waited 11 days later to file the paperwork and it appears that they did not include a document that was needed and only addressed it once I called PG&E. That is when they said they would have someone reach out to PG&E. I am having an attorney look over the contract because I worry about trying to deal with them in the future should something go wrong. They praised themselves on customer service when I was signing up but they have not lived up to it at all. Only the installation team has been great. The office, not at all. Unfortunately, that is who you will have to deal with if you have any issue. Buyer beware. They do sound great, like any salesman but once they have your money, you don't have any importance to them. The bets part of this is that I called them today (Bri) to actually get a name for a new contact for a salesman, since my original one never got back to me in the end about the final layout and had to deal with it the day of installation. I obviously won't be passing on their info. Please think twice about using these guys. I don't have trust in them as a business and unfortunately I am stuck with them now and will have to deal with them in the future if anything goes wrong.

Tesla Solar Battery Install

We had a solar battery installed on our new home by Ambrose and had a great experience from beginning to end. Their team was professional, communicative, and had great follow up to ensure we were getting max impact from our system. We got a few quotes but appreciated the great reputation and all that Ambrose offered. We highly recommend working with them if you have a solar project!

Perfect Experience!

Ambrose Solar installed our 20-panel system about 18 months ago. It has worked perfectly the entire time. Every person with whom we worked was friendly and professional, ranging from the estimator (Mark), the project managers (Vincent and Austin), the installers (a very friendly and hard-working crew whose names I cannot remember), and finally to the great Stephanie Reiser, who was indefatigable in pursuing my rebate from PG&E SGIP program. The rebate was a problem because the equipment and solar lease were originally from SunPower, which was acquired by SunStrong, shortly after the installation was completed. The transfer of ownership was confusing to PG&E, who were administering the rebate program. Stephanie corresponded with all parties from before the installation, until just recently, when the rebate was finally approved. All in all, she must have written and responded to at least 50 emails on the subject, all the while keeping me informed of the progress. As a professional mechanical engineer (retired), I highly recommend Ambrose Solar and its excellent staff.

Go with Ambrose!

I would like to write a quick review of my experience with Ambrose solar... I think my decision to finally put solar on my roof took more than a year to make and every step of the way from Kelsey who was my sales person to Vincent my project manager and Mike my closing meeting specialist was a seamlessly professional experience. My project was made difficult by a few complications with my house not the least of which was the need for a new roof and a solution for not having a 200 amp feed from PG&E into my house. Those guiding my experience at Ambrose were beyond patient, as I asked them to explain things over and over again. When it came to the actual installation, I was completely blown away by the crew that Ambrose sent... to call them. Professional was a complete understatement. Imanol led the crew on the roof and just got the job done so fast! Tony dropped what he was doing every single time I asked him a question and explained things to me so clearly! Nate did the same thing while he was installing the Span panel. What was clear the entire time was that all representatives of Ambrose solar understood what a big decision. This was for me and my family. They took it seriously and helped me, a complete Luddite gain an understanding of what was ultimately a pretty complex project.

Great Experience

Worked with Paul and the team to install solar panels on our recently purchased home back in 2020. After doing a lot of research, I knew I was getting a good product (SunPower panels), with reasonable financing options, and the work would be done by a reputable company in Ambrose Solar. Almost 5 years in, I have no complaints. We produce more power than we consume, with room for new electric vehicle or hot tub if we wanted. They also have a nice referral program if you know anyone in need of solar.

I’ve had my system for 2 yr. Installation was done timely. No problems. Ambrose took care of permits. Very responsive to calls. System has worked well and exceeded expectations w/r to energy savings! Had a problem with a connection after a year. Ambrose fixed it at no cost. Highly recommend!

Thrilled with solar system from Ambrose

Absolutely thrilled with my solar system from Ambrose – 4 years later and still going strong! From start to finish, the installation process was seamless. Planning, permits, inspection, and PTO all went off without a hitch – no surprises, no delays. The team at Ambrose was professional, communicative, and clearly knew what they were doing. Four years in, I’m still seeing the benefits. My system was sized perfectly, and I actually end up with a small annual true-up credit. Even better, I’ve been completely insulated from PG&E’s constant rate hikes – my energy costs are stable and predictable. One of the best decisions I made was including a battery. I live in an area heavily impacted by PG&E’s Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS), which has already triggered nine power outages this year alone. Thanks to the battery backup, I barely notice. My lights stay on, my fridge keeps running, and I’ve even been able to share my Wi-Fi with a neighbor so they can keep working during blackouts. Neighbors constantly ask how I’m managing to stay powered through these outages, and I always point them to Ambrose. I genuinely can’t say enough good things about the system or the company. If you’re considering solar, this is the team to go with. One of the best home decisions I’ve ever made.

Still Very Happy with Ambrose Solar

As always, our experience with Ambrose Solar was amazing. I called them to ask why our consumption differed vastly from what PG&E was reporting. We didn’t know if it was an app problem or meter problem or what! Justin took the time to research all possibilities and figured out what the issue was. Their technician Arnulfo came out and quickly resolved the issue and now our consumption very closely aligns with what PG&E says we’re consuming. Both gentlemen are very patient and friendly and professional. We are still very satisfied with Ambrose Solar and would recommend them!

I chose Ambrose Solar located in Vacaville CA to install 2 Tesla Power Plus solar panels; after performing extensive research and comparisons. They not only have an A+ BBB and Top 5 service rating but provided me with a 'Before', 'During' and 'After' professional and quality service experience that has me feeling like I've just dined at a 5 Star restaurant that is so outstanding I have to let everyone know about it. They provided not just an installation but an education and total package experience. That Ambrose Solar Service; as explained in my out brief extends through the life of the warranty and provided by Ambrose Solar directly. I'm doing that happy dance!
