The Canadian Dymond series of panels are a good quality solar panel with a top efficiency on their 300 watt monocrystalline system of 18.33%. The temperature coefficient, a measure of the amount power output falls as temperature rises isn’t particularly good at -0.39%.
The key reason that we rate Canadian in our top 5 as a solar panel brand is not the performance of the solar panels per se it is the value they offer, their stable financial position and their reputation for manufacturing quality control.

One our panels stopped producing after 4 years and we turned in a claim to Canadian Solar. They came back and told us they would give us $76 instead of a replacement panel. In the fine print, they state they can do that instead of a replacement panel. They still brag about their great warranty coverage. Don’t believe it! We started the bid process with MN Solar around Labor Day and the entire system was installed, up and running by early December. We had a great experience - efficient communication, organized paperwork on BaseCamp, and installation over about 2-3 days. We used the Canadian Solar black panels - they look really nice on a black shingled roof and blend in pretty well. Everything is tracked and monitored thru the SolarEdge phone app - reports daily energy production by each individual panel and overall system. Very pleased thus far!... read more

Our tracker has been great in every respect, and we feel it was the responsible thing to do. Also, we absolutely love the design an engineering marvel that we enjoy looking at as the position changes through the day and the seasons. 1. My Canadian Solar panels are producing a little more than I had expected. This means that maybe, I could have gotten by with one or two fewer panels, but since I am purchasing an electric car, the extra production will ensure that I will be covered for my future growth in power requirements.
2. Although I am pleased with my installation, this review should only be about the panels themselves.
3. I live in the high desert north of Los Angeles and we have few clouds but very high heat. I have checked my power generation during heat waves and the panels did not seem to be affected by days of over 106â° F temperatures.
4. I don’t know if Canadian Solar makes polycrystalline solar panels but my Canadian Solar panels are the higher producing monocrystalline solar panels which cost a little more but are more efficient.
5. I have not had my panels for an entire year yet, so I will have to see how well they produce during the shorter (less sunlight) days of winter.
6. Do not confuse your installers or your installation with the panel manufacturer. The panel manufacturer does not control how the panels are installed, which direction they face, what angle they face, or how many sunny days your town has per year. These are factors that affect your energy production but are not a reflection of the solar panel’s quality, generation, or efficiency.... read more

Exceeds expectation on partly cloudy days- seems to try to make electricity with any amount of sunlight but will produce nothing under heavily overcast days. Clearing snow is easy with a snobrum. I usually just clear part of lower panels and they do the rest usually within hours. If upper panels do not clear, I start clearing them as well the next day ( they are harder to reach) and clearing even a small portion of a panel will generate enough heat to clear the rest in 1-2 days. I was gone for 3 weeks during an unusually snowy January when the panels were not cleared of snow at all. Production as anticipated was way down.... read more
