I had Western Solar install a battery system backup to go with my solar array. They mounted two Tesla Powerwall batteries to my garage wall along with a new breaker box and a Tesla controller. Two days were scheduled for the install, but the crew did it in a day-an-a half. The worksite was left in a clean condition. After the system passed State inspection, Western Solar came out to show me how my battery backup system worked and loaded the Tesla app onto my phone so I could monitor my whole solar system on my phone. All of the staff members of Western Solar that I encountered were willing to help me and answer any questions that I had. They even helped me file for the rebate that Tesla was offering at the time. Also, they will be sending me the proper paperwork so I can claim the 30% Federal Tax Credit. Great company/friendly and competent people to work with.

Most companies do an estimate using google maps and even if someone comes out they just provide info from google maps. Western actually come out and climb on the roof. So other companies estimates includes covering the roof vents. Western leaves those areas open for the venting since by code, those roof vents are required. But some dishonest installers cut off the vents to install more panels but since a solar inspection doesn't require a roof building inspection and only an electrical inspection they can get away with it. Be careful with other installers. I found Western Solar honest and ethical and they actually get on the roof before providing an estimate. Their install team was efficient. Everything came within schedule and I had constraints with my roof needing to be replaced and Western worked with the roof company to synchronize their schedules. Highly recommend Western Solar!

We chose Western Solar after getting quotes from four different solar companies. They were in the middle of the pack in terms of pricing. We chose them because, rather than quoting us for one brand of panel and saying, "this is what we use and it's the best, trust us," they gave us many different options. Their materials were a great jumping-off point for additional research, which helped us feel like we'd done our due diligence. Western Solar worked with us to custom design a system according to our priorities. Their install team was quicker than expected and left zero mess. It was a pleasure to have them onsite. Their work passed all the inspections on the first try.

Western Solar was recommended by my neighbors since they had done 3 or more installations on my block. I was the first one to have them also install Tesla Powerwalls at the same time for battery backup during power outages and also for night-time power. They were professional, communicative, reasonably priced, and got the job done. I have not had to use city grid power from Puget Sound Energy since as the sun powers the house in the day and the batteries at night. I am very satisfied with their service.

My business partner and I vetted several different companies before choosing to use Western Solar on our commercial building AND my personal residence. We worked directly with Josh to get educated on the equipment, rebates, costs, financial forecasting, etc... I can't speak to the quality or the caliber of the other companies since we didn't use them, but I can tell you that we found Josh to be THE most informative individual we worked with. He either had every answer, or knew where to find it. We were extremely well educated by him, and Western Solar was the most competitive bid we received. The work was done exactly as detailed, communication along the way was very thorough. The systems have delivered as promised or better production. We had an incident that required after sale support and they were AMAZING about taking care of things in very short order. I simply can't recommend them enough. You will not be disappointed. There should be more companies like this in every industry.

I chose Western Solar after receiving three bids. Western Solar was the lowest of the three, (by a little), but the design and installation of the system was professional and looks great. Any reservations I had about making this investment were without merit. I went with (28) Itek 285w panels with a Solaredge Inverter so I an add a Tesla Powerwall to the system at a later date. Western Solar was great to deal with before, during and after the installation. I love the monitoring software too.

This entire experience has been the best purchasing experience I have ever had. The customer service was amazing from consultation to installation to system maintenance (when out internet went down and they called to tell me our monitoring system was down). And the product itself has been awesome. It is outperforming what they had included in their estimate, and as for monitoring our electricity consumption- that alone has reduced our usage. It feels great to be reducing our carbon footprint, and it is really fun to watch it happen right before our eyes. I am very pleased with the total service I have received from Western Solar. I worked with Markus for my initial site visit and system design. Markus was great in developing several options and provided full technical and financial information on those options. The installation was fast and flawless. The Western Solar technicians who installed my system had it done in a day and left the work site clean and neat. My system looks and works great. My system has been operating for three months now and working great. I have experienced 2 grid power failures during storms in my area since my solar system was installed. The solar system worked perfectly in shutting down when the grid failed and restarting automatically as soon as grid power was restored. I have called Western Solar with questions a couple of times now and Josh has been great in answering questions, walking me through some minor reprogramming of my system and taking the time to be sure I understand the operation and maintenance of my system which is actually quite easy. I would recommend Western solar to anyone.

We selected Western after comparing them to two other bids. They were by far the most complete and comprehensive bid we got. They clearly were the most knowledgeable and experienced. To get the maximum number of panels on our roof they had to move plumbing and exhaust venting around. They did a great job on it. The panel installation and wiring to the breaker box was clean an neat. We also had a new breaker box installed. They had a union electrician who did a beautiful job. The inspector was very impressed. They worked fast, cleaned up after themselves, were careful around our extensive landscaping, and were courteous and friendly. What more can you ask for in a contractor?

The entire process was smooth and well-informed. Josh provided me with a spread sheet of projected costs and incentives. My system will essentially pay for itself in 6 years, and is warranted for 25 years. The actual installation process was so fast it was unbelievable. When the PSE man came out to inspect the work he said, "Oh, Western Solar and they used microinverters? Looks great." I am so pleased to be contributing to clean energy production. I just had my home appraised for a re-fi and the presence of my solar panels gave my home value a good bump up. And Robyn in the office is readily available for any techie questions.

I have wanted to go green for a long time. The "stars" aligned for this to happen recently while local, state and Fed incentives were still in place. The folks at Western Solar were great to work with and everything went exactly as they bid it up front. I liked that there were no surprises later and any questions I had before or after the sale were answered personally by the person I originally worked with. The only change from the plan was that they got my system installed and on-line 2-3 weeks faster than originally planned, which was great! My particular situation didn't allow a south exposure installation due to reflection of panels to homes on the hill above me. We found this out when I borrowed one of the panels during the investigation phase, and went up to my neighbors to check out any impact. So using only the western exposure portion of my roof cut down the size of my system to 4.32 KW and extended the payback a bit, but this still allowed full payback in under 10 years. Since installation, the system has performed flawlessly and there is no maintenance needed at all. I have stopped getting bills from the utility company for electricity, and am "banking" kilowatts to use during the winter. I even received my first rebate from WA State for power produced in the first couple months since it was "plugged in". Western Solar helped make the paperwork very easy and took care of most of the details. I would recommend their services to anyone in the Puget Sound area. Special thanks to Josh Miller who I personally worked with through the process, and was always there for my questions and needs as a homeowner/purchaser of the system.

The entire team was very professional. They responded to all of my questions, addressed any concerns, great followup! They did everything that they said they would do and more! Out of all the contractors I`ve had business dealings with since I moved here, Western Solar is the best! We obtained previous quotations prior to signing with Western Solar because we intended to install a solar system because we feel it is the right thing to do and the US doesn`t take advantage of this important energy resource. Every possible home should have a solar system and the government needs to stop subsidizing oil companies and provide more incentives to promote clean energy.

Great people to work with. We enjoyed having them around for the time it took to complete the work. The reason that I went with the Western Solar company as opposed to other service providers in the area was because they had more experience with hot water solar systems than the other providers. As it worked out, however- we did not tie my existing hot water system to the new panel system and everything seems to be working quite well thank you.

So pleased with their work, I recommended them to family and friends. Great to work with.

too many delays due to not planning well. when one part is on order, check to make sure the parts for the next step ae either on hand or on order. work was often delayed for a week or so because of an oops and not having the parts/materials ready.

The work was done in a professional manner and when delays came up, I was promptly informed. Jack Hardy was always on time at our meetings and well propared. I wanted to reduce my `carbon footprint`. I think we small producers of energy have a place in the scope of things as well as the larger corporations. If enough small producers would generate solar power, we wouldn`t need nuclear energy. I had a solar pannel installed to run lighting fan and misting system for my green house. They also installed the light fan and misting system and I am extreemly pleased with the results. It was the right thing to do
