Would not recommend

I chose Venture solar because the sales rep reassured me of all of my concerns and said everything was done in house with no subcontractors. The job was put off three times and when they finally showed they had the wrong layout plan, no critter guard and no trim which was discussed many times with them. The electrician then screwed the pole all the way up my house into my siding and then realized he put it in the wrong place and had to move it leaving many holes in my siding. I was also told by the sales rep the owners are very Hands-On which is farthest from the truth. It took me months to get a contact number or email for the owners and still no return calls. When he finally got back to me he was only willing to pay a portion of the damage. He told me what he was offering me was a fair amount and to put some bushes there to cover the holes. Still going through insurance to get reimbursed for the damage. The owners can care less about their customers. I would not recommend this company to anyone.

Hi all. My name is Geoffrey Wang. I had Venture Solar the dealer. Put in my Solar Energy System approximately 4 years ago. After problems had arise with panels. Sunpower Company the Manufacturer did not back their warranty. But instead Venture Solar went ahead and warranted out of thier own pocket the Solar panels by Sunpower the Manufacturer. If you are interested to get Solar Engery into your homes. Which will give you clean energy and save on your electric bills. Venture Solar is the company you want to do the JOB for you. They will not only do a clean and professional job. But they will back you up. That is what conforming to their customer. That is why in my book. They get Platinum Status.

Love My Solar Savings

Venture Solar installed my solar panels in January this year. Especially since Eversource's rate increase, I have saved hundreds of dollars a month on my electric bill. Venture Solar communicated with me every step of the process from planning, installation, inspection and followed up to make sure I was a satisfied customer. They were prompt on installation day and cleaned up nicely when they were done. I highly recommend Venture Solar.

Disappointment

I decided to go with Venture Solar, despite a lower bid for the same system, because their sales person was exceptional, they promised not to use subcontractors, their system communicated independent of my home network, and all conduit and wiring would be run internally. After signing the contract it was radio silence; my emails, text, voicemails, and calls were unanswered. Finally, I pushed a customer serve hard for a call back. One of the owners called me back and explained that I fell through the cracks because my sales person quit. They were very reassuring and I thought we were on track but I was wrong. The install day comes and the crew that shows up is subcontractors on their first day working for Venture. They immediately say they cannot locate the meter or disconnect switch per the proposal, they cannot run the conduit internally, amd they need my wifi password for the data link. Suddenly I am the middle man between Venture and the work crew. After some calls and debate I get the external hardware mounted where I want it and an independent data link. While I am on a call the crew leaves and when i go to check the work it's a mess. My yard is full of trash, roofing nails, aluminum barbs, zip ties, water bottles, cigarettes butts, and broken hardware. Worse, one of the panels is clearly different from the others and the external conduit ismt straight. So I clean my yard and call Venture. They agree to send their own crew to address the issues. That day comes and first a subcontractor crew shows up without the replacement panel. I throw them out and demand Venture send their own crew, the new panel, and that they inspect the roof. Finally their crew shows up and does these things. They conduit cannot be fixed but the panel is replaced and the inspection finds 3 mounts flashed incorrectly. A few days later it rains and I check my attic. Of course I have a leak and find lags anchoring the panels that missed the rafters. I call Venture again and they come again to repair the issues. Then Venture sends a subcontractor to walk the town inspector through. After that they tell me its 2 weeks till the system goes online. 2 weeks pass and I call and they say its actually 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I spend 2 weeks trying to get an update because the National Grid application is rejected. Finally today I demand an update and am told the town inspector hasn't signed off on the work to National Grid and they have been leaving him voicemails. I call the town, who is very polite, and learn that nobody has called and they need the National Grid service number for the application because it isnt on Ventures paperwork. I provide the number and they agree to inspect me and give National Grid approval yonight. Venture clearly uses incompetent subcontractors, they lied to me repeatedly about the application status, never communicated with me, and blamed everyone else whenever I asked for an updated.

Great Team of Latino installers (Lucas's crew)

My personal experience as a New Customer in Venture Solar was great because Lucas's team did a great job. They followed the regulations and did the best for the best installation.

Beware of underperforming solar.

During Venture Solar sales pitch, they mentioned that they are the best and uses the best solar panel instead of the ones used by their competitors. They have also mentioned that they are very conservatives and underestimate the productions so that clients are never short. Based on their reviews, we decided to go with Venture over other providers. During the first 6 months, we have been monitoring the solar production and noticed that it looked a lot less than what we were expecting. We have contacted Venture Solar and they kept telling us that it we will meet the production from our quote even though my calculation said otherwise. In order to avoid being the underperformance, I asked if they can reevaluate the number of panels installed and they said that they used a system to calculate the Sun exposure and come up with the number of panels. At that time, they told me that we can look into different options after the year is over to see if it does underperform. Fast forward a year, it indeed did underperform and when I reached out, the only thing they said was we will reimbursed us based on the minimum guaranteed production ( which is less than what the estimated production will be when you sign up). They do not follow up with us and it is always us following up with them. From the start we flagged to them that this is not producing based of their sales pitch and we kept getting ignored. Now we are stuck with underperforming solar panel for years with no support from Venture Solar to make it right....

Excellent communication and service

I spent a long time researching solar systems and talking with representatives from different companies. I found the Venture Solar rep to be the most knowledgeable, straightforward, and informative person I spoke with. He answered all of my questions (sometimes more than once) and offered additional information beyond what I had asked. I found him to be very responsive, without being pushy. Communication with the company throughout the permitting and installation process has been excellent. We have been kept up to date with progress while waiting for wheels of bureaucracy to turn. Everyone we have spoke with at the company has been courteous and helpful, from the scheduler to the sales rep to the installation crew. I highly recommend Venture Solar for home solar installation. Plus, I love supporting a local (New England) company!

Excellent quick and done

My electricity was on a budget plan It cost me $300 a month 12 months out of the year I’ve got my first six electric bills since December $18 each. Not to mention the fact that I do not have a major impact on the environment. My next investment is a solar battery backup system when I can get one in New York City. And electric car that charges from solar. Can someone please let me know are battery back up systems allowed in New York City Residences?

PERFECT

The companies sales, installation, customer service was all top notch. I was quite wary at first, but the sales rep took his time and answered all my questions. We've had the panels since last summer and they work phenomenal. Truly one of the smartest investments we've made in the home. And they help you through the tax incentives as well.

10 months later system is working great/exceed production goal

I was and still am a Tesla fan. However, after waiting two years and it still doesn’t provide service in my zip code, I started researching. I found that SunPower and two other companies have the most efficient panels (I believe SunPower has a slight advantage but could be wrong, and the technologies may have evolved during the last year). I contacted venture solar because at that time it was the highest rated SunPower installer in my area. Their whole team is very friendly and we quickly reached a deal. During the entire process Venture Solar was very professional and they even sent a cookie box after project completion. Now my panels have been working for 10 months without any problems, and it looks like the system will exceed its annual electricity production by a lot (My system’s designed production is 9970kwh. Now it has produced 8409kwh and the month of May and June should be quite sunny). Oh btw, my sales agent Brent owns a Tesla model 3 and he gave me a ride which was awesome. Overall 11/10.

Overall Good, but Unprepared

Originally I had written a negative review of Venture, but I've decided to edit it and give a more neutral review. In short, Venture was really great leading up to installation. The installation itself was wrought with problems. First, the foreman said the design they had come prepared with did not match my roof or electrical schematic. Second, because of this the lead electrician had to go off for a few hours to get additional supplies, meaning he did not start his work until 12:30 despite arriving at 8:30. Third, part of my house is a cathedral roof, meaning no attic. One of the workers used too long of a drill bit and drilled into my living room despite me telling the main office, the supervisor on site, and the foreman several times that there was no attic over there. All this caused a lot of stress and a lost weekend since we had to clean up the mess and hire a drywall guy to come repair the roof (16 holes and a bent HVAC grate) and paint the ceiling. Venture did compensate us. They paid for the drywall guy and reimbursed us for the lost weekend. After that it seemed Venture was always one step behind. I took matters into my own hands and called my utility directly to schedule their inspection. The first inspection failed because Venture was not aware of a regulation in my state about there being a delay in energization if the power goes out, so I had to wait another 2 weeks before I could get my system turned on. All in all, I wish Venture would have done more research into the regulations of my state and the exact layout of my roof and electrical system. A lot of mistakes could have been avoided. But, my system has been up and running for a month and a half and I've been very pleased with the results.

Quality product, Quality people.

I had done one of those "how many panels can you fit on your house" internet things and was inundated with calls from various solar companies. When Venture responded, I did my research and chose them. Their representative Keith Stirk had all the answers to my questions. I wanted a company that did not sub-out the install, a comany that stood behind the product and their people. That is Venture Solar. From the sales rep, to the office staff, to the guys that showed up on a gloomy day to do a complete install in one day. Everyone was professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. This company does not disappoint.

Venture Solar vs 2 others

I went through the solar discussion with 3 companies. The first explained the difference between the cheap Chinese panels and an inverter some companies are using and the LG panels with built-in inverter they use. I was all set to go with them until they decided I needed to replace my 8 year old roof for an additiona $16000. The second company was going to use the cheap Chinese panels. Then Venture Solar gave me not only the best quote, but they included the LG panels. Funny how both the second company and Venture said that I did not need my almost new roof replaced. After the panels were installed, we experienced a leak during a rain. Venture sent someone down who determined that the leak was not caused by their work but because the panels were causing the rain to flow in a different direction, it was hitting an area where the window caulking had worn away. He replaced the caulking and it appears to be solved. The panels are now operating but it will take time to see how much we're really saving. I believe that over time the electric company will continue to raise rates and the sun won't.

It's been about 8 months now. I couldn't be happier with my decision. I'm saving so much money on my electric bill. The support team is amazing. They treat you as if you are family. Thanks again Nicole for helping me with the tax credit paperwork!

Great Experience - Start to Finish

I'll preface this review by saying this: If you're like me, you're reading this review and researching a few companies. I would suggest you continue to do you research. You will be your best advocate when it comes to big projects like this. Continue your research, and become an informed customer. I first started researching solar when I just moved into my house. Some of the larger companies were offering to outfit my roof with panels--they were eager to have me sign e-contracts. When Venture dropped by he recommended I wait. I didn't have enough usage history for my new house in order to establish a proper baseline for the system. He was more interested in making a prospective customer happy rather than just sign as many customers as possible. No pressure no pushy sales person calling. I reached out after several months as I had a full year of usage, and a good baseline for the system. It turns out the original quotes from the other companies was way more than I needed. After meeting with several installers again, I decided to go with Venture. Everything about the process was painless and as planned. They hit every deliverable in their original timeline.

Top Notch

We are extremely happy with the process from beginning to end. The staff are all knowledgeable in their areas. Customer service and professional. Design is seamless without any visible equipment but the solar panels on the roof. Install was on time, expedient, and clean. Not to mention it took less than a month to get permits and installation. Which means we save more because we made the cut off for 2019 rates! Needless to say we will be spreading the news about this great company.

I am more than pleased with the service and help I received from venture solar. From start to finish everything was very smooth and efficient. My husband and I are extremely happy with our savings every single month. We have been installed for three months so far and they truly stand by their word. Our sales representative Victoria was very knowledgable and made the whole process of going solar for us very enjoyable. They always kept us in the loop with everything. We are very thankful to Venture for helping us save on our bills!
