Total Scam!!!!!!

We just purchased a home and the previous home owners already had SunRun installed - meaning we did NOT Initially purchase the solar panel system. We did have to transfer ownership of the contract and equipment from the previous owners to us. Well - ever since we moved in there has been this debilitating high pitch “frequency” type sound reverberating throughout our house and back yard. It’s insane! My computer and cell phone are acting bizarre and it’s clearly coming from something having to do with the solar. I called their customer service - the woman said I need to write an email to their customer care. Not helpful! She said that someone would FOR SURE get back to me in 24 hours. Technically that didn’t happen. What I did get the following evening after 8pm, was an automated email stating someone would be in touch within 48 hours. So the next morning I called customer service. Was on hold forever. Finally hung up and what do you know - someone from their technician dept called me back within 5 min. Hmmmm…. Then they had me do some BS “trouble shooting” and although the sound was still there, THEY determined that it wasn’t the solar system and therefore can’t help me unless I want to pay for the tech inspection. Total BS!!! I should also note that “just by chance” there were two SunRun reps walking our neighborhood who happen to show up just as I got off the phone with the tech. Seems suspicious to me. They were “just checking in” - so weird! The following days I called and emailed and then tonight someone from the “customer care” department called me. I thought wow! They’re going to do the right thing and send someone out. NOPE! He basically told me the same thing over again and that I would have to pay for the technician to come out and do a full health inspection. During the multiple conversations with SunRun people they mentioned having an electrician inspect our home, and if they determine it’s solar related I can APPEAL the initial decision and possibly have the health inspection report fee waived (PS they will not provide any documentation outlining what the inspection covers or details about what they check. Again - so weird). Then I find out that if I higher an electrician to inspect that person CANNOT touch the solar equipment AT ALL. So I’m confused as to how they would be able to determine it’s the solar. They can’t look at any of the wiring or equipment. It’s all a big scam and they send you on a wild goose chase. DO NOT GET SUNRUN SOLAR!!!!!!!!!!

Harassment at it’s finest

Despite having a "No Solicitation" sign prominently displayed at my home, I continue to experience persistent and unwanted visits from Sunrun sales representatives. The behavior of Sunrun representatives have become increasingly egregious. They often travel in groups, which comes across as predatory and harassing. This is not an isolated complaint; our neighborhood Facebook groups are filled with numerous similar complaints about Sunrun's aggressive sales tactics.

The process was smooth. They arrived on time and the entire staff was very informative, friendly and respectful.

Professional installation, exceptional communication

The install team arrived early to begin during the cool of the morning. They were very well organized and quickly got everything into place. The gentleman in charge then began to explain every step. He was clear, concise, and explain things in layman's terms so we could understand clearly. If we had any questions he was readily available to listen and answer. You can tell that the team was working really well together and I was very impressed with the whole attitude of the team. I would highly recommend Sunrun corporate groups. We had a very bad experience a couple years back with an affiliate, yet this team was so Superior they certainly has represented Sunrun and changed our minds about the quality of the work and the integrity of the company.

Sunrun Review out of Arizona I've spoken with SRP serval times about why my solar is not working properly, because I'm not supposed to pay for any electricity with the amount of solar panels I have. Sunrun charged me and my family 27K for these solar panels and put them on the wrong side of my home. When I contacted Sunrun, they put me on hold, disconnected the phone call, or told me we ran a test and your solar panels are working fine. But we will need to charge you again to take the panels down and move them. I told them your representative evaluated my roof where to put the solar panels and why I needed to pay? the only thing he told me was "I'm sorry"

The installation and performance has been good, but their reporting software has been good and is no useless.

How do I get out of this contract

Sunrun is a great sales gimmick. They make the process of getting solar seem cheap and easy. They promise great customer service, and common sense business culture. That is until you have to do anything involving their solar panels. So me owning my home notices that my roof is taking in water. The roof company informs me that i need to remove the solar panels while the roof is worked on. Sunrun says "well yes we could do that but in 3 months." 3 months my solar company intends to keep the repairs to my house hostage. I threaten legal action and suddenly 3 months become 2 weeks. With that resolved finally my roof is being repaired. Once thats done guess how long it takes for the panels to go back up? 3 months? Of course. From april to July seems reasonable to sunrun. And yes they'll charge you their monthly fee the entire time. Do not get sunrun if your a homeowner.

Jason and his team were very professional and polite and very knowledgeable on what was to be done and completed. I recommend Jason and his team for all Tesla installments. Smiles and compliments all day long in this heat was so appreciative. Thank you guys, you are all great in our book!

Quick and easy!

These guys came out to install 33 panels, and a couple guys didn’t show up and they still knocked it out.. told us our power might be out for 4 hours, and it was only 1! They were great. The work is sooo NEAT AND TIDY, perfect for my OCD self. And Blake from the penguins crew took so much extra time to explain and show me the app and how to understand all the different things. I was hesitant for solar, but they make me feel confident! Thanks SUNRUN and thank you Blake :)

We have been hesitant to get solar for quite some time... but these guys made the process 100% better than expected. The sales guys were very friendly and knowledgeable, Richard and Joey. Always kept us updated and always answered calls. They were very timely and came thru with everything they promised. The installation guys were even amazing! Blake and his crew. They were quick and efficient, and very clean. Everything looks spot on! I would definitely recommend sunrun solar, especially these guys from the corona office.

Sun Run Solar's customer service is a complete disaster. Trying to get in touch with them is like shouting into the void – utterly futile. Their representatives seem clueless about how to assist customers, and attempts to contact the manager result in complete silence for over eight weeks. It's like they're trained in the art of ignoring customers' pleas for help. Emails go unanswered, phone calls lead to dead ends, and live chat is just a virtual black hole. Dealing with Sun Run Solar's incompetence is beyond frustrating. Steer clear unless you enjoy frustration and disappointment.

Awful Company

AVOID SUNRUN AT ALL COSTS. SHOTTY WORK WITH POOR MATERIALS. I inherited a leased system when I bought a house. Complete disaster. 5 year warranty over (although I'm committed for 20 years.. go figure), and roof leaking everywhere. Major damage. Roofer said multiple penetrations missed the mark. Panels need to come off, railing system needs to come off, roof replaced, panels and raling need to be replaced. $$$$$$$$$$$$$. So I have to now pay Sunrun $200 a panel (51 panels) to remove them, then pay for new roof, then obligated to put the same damn panels on brand new roof, with same shotty poor work, probably causing the samed issue. Criminals. STAY AWAY.

Install

The installation today went extremely smooth. The person running the install was great at communicating with me. They work was done quickly and efficiently. When they were all done, there was no mess .

Exemplary Customer Service & Installation Experience

To whom it may concern, On May 17th, 2024, our installation crew arrived both courteously and promptly on-time. This is our 2nd round of solar installation, since the first salesperson undersold us the correct number of panels needed. To say our first experience with SunRun was abysmal would be putting it lightly. Between damage to our home, being under-powered, and the absolute lack of ownership in making it right, we were both disappointed and disheartened feeling like we had made the wrong choice with which solar company to go with. On this second round, every touch point was exemplary. From Jetsen Lowell's prompt responses with clear explanations, Seth, the new Sales Manager's emails, and the overall process was much more professional than our first go-around. Both Jetsen and Seth handled themselves like consummate professionals even when they were dealing with a customer who was beyond over it when dealing with anyone from SunRun. They were kind, informative, and went above and beyond to win us back as customers. The installation crew, led by Nick Coleman, was a whole other level of exemplary professionalism. Again, they arrived on-time and ready to work. When we sited any concerns from our previous experience, they made us feel heard and validated our concerns. Whenever we had questions, Nick was always there with a clear answer and a smile. His demeanor instantly set us at ease and his craftsmanship far exceeded our expectations. Even when we weren't able to have the batteries installed where the previous SunRun inspection person promised us, Nick was able to explain why he made the professional recommendations he did, because it was in our best interests as homeowners. The fact that he took the time to meticulously explain the process made us feel like we understand the recommendations and confident to follow Nick's lead. From the moment he arrived until the moment he left, Nick went above and beyond to make us feel like valued SunRun customers. They left the jobsite cleaner than when they arrived and when Nick had to return, he did so with a noticeable courtesy call and was quick to complete any outstanding line items. We don't believe we would have had such a stellar experience with any other crew and are grateful for their meticulous eye for detail and the time they took to make sure we fully understood how our system works. We hope that this review does not go unnoticed. Nick & his entire crew need a raise!

Solar removal

Stay away from this company. Any rating higher than a 2 star is suspect and more than likely them boosting their customer service rating. I have a leak from where one panel is installed. Customer service is terrible to resolve an issue. They don’t follow through on rectifying the problem. I sign a contract, agreed to the price and it’s been over a couple months and they haven’t got the permit to schedule the work. The customer rep said they applied for the permit but I check with my village and they don’t have anything request on file. I have a contractor ready to fix their mistake. They can get a permit and team ready to installed the panels in a few days. Removal of panels just forget about it. I’m ready to go up there myself and remove them myself. Once the panels are up you on your own for any repair or removal despite what’s in your contract. You been warned. STAY AWAY!

Bankruptcy soon. Support and warranties will be WORTHLESS.

There's a reason why Sunrun's stock price is off 85% in the last 2 years. With all the class action lawsuits for misleading sales tactics and terrible products this company is bleeding cash fast. When they soon file for bankruptcy, all those warranties and product support will disappear. Skip the hard sell promises. Go elsewhere.

Forget about the referrals

We finally got our panels up and running and our friends are up and running but I can't get ahold of our sales person about my $1000.00 referral money. I was told that I would be lucky if I got it. Can't get in touch with Dillon he was our sales guy. Now what do I do.
