Great Experience

Everything was great about the process from the first meeting about the quote until the final inspection day. This was the lowest quote for the quality I was desiring and I would recommend this company to everyone. I am very happy with the work and dealing with SunLux.

Alex has been very professional and attentive during the entire project. From planning to final permission to operate, Sunlux showed up and did what they said they would do. Crew was great and the job looks super neat. It's working and we're very happy. The only delay we had was from SDGE due to rain.

The Right Choice

My solar installation is officially complete as of today. I wanted to provide my general experience through the process. I met with 7 to 8 companies before deciding on Sunlux. We went through many different options but in the end I selected Sunlux for a few key reasons. Their pricing was competitive (not the cheapest but not the most expensive), the sales process did not seem pushy or forced, and they had LG panels which I felt was a reliable choice based on my personal research. Also I wanted to mention that it was really important for me that the company had a good Better Business Bureau rating. I had many salesman come in trying to explain why a Better Business Bureau rating from a few unhappy customers was not a good representation of the work they do. They were trying to sweep it under the rug. However I know from personal experience that it’s always possible that you could have a difficult install. And if that occurs, I wanted to be with a company that I felt would work to rectify my concerns. I didn’t want to work with a company that would treat me like a number, and try to downplay a negative experience if I had one. I had the benefit of some experience, because I had Solar installed at my other home a couple years ago. It was a terrible experience. The communication, the physical install, everything that could go wrong seem to go wrong. I moved two years ago and I’m still dealing with some of the repercussions of this bad install. There’s an outstanding electrical bill with the electric company which still has not been paid or sorted out. All that to say, I know from experience that picking a good company is important. I rushed, felt pressured and I did not do my research the first time and I paid for it… Do not be pushed into signing anything that same day to get a “deal”. If they want your business, they will come back and work with you. If they aren’t flexible and don’t give you the time you need to “think about it”… it’s my opinion that they’re just not a very good company. No company is perfect, Sunlux did a very good job but there were a few bumps along the way. They had to send out a contractor to check on a leak but I can definitely say that they were extremely responsive, and always available to answer my questions or concerns. The sales rep/technician that first spoke to me by the name of Don is awesome. He made me feel very comfortable and not pressured. Our project manager was Erika. She was fantastic and very responsive to any questions I had. If she didn’t know the answer immediately, she knew how to get it or who to connect me with in order to get what I needed. I will know a whole lot more over the next year as I see how the system produces, but from an install perspective, I can say today I am very happy with Sunlux. They did a very good job and if you decide to pick them too, I believe they will treat you the same way.

Excellent Company for Solar

We were referred to SunLux by another enthusiastic customer, and we share her feelings. From the initial contact I felt I was dealing with very competent, experieced professionals, from sales to the office to the installers. I contacted other companies for competing bids, but none of them displayed the same professionalism and overall knowledge as SunLux. There were a couple of hiccups (supply chain issues in late 2021) in the process, but we were given enough notice so that the schedule changes were not onerous. I will have no difficulty in recommending SunLux to anyone interested in a solar installation.

Overall service is good

Overall experience with Sunlus is good. From the beginning to the end, the installation of the solar panels is professional and complete in time.

First class

Being a retired electrical contractor, I can say that my project manager Erika Garcia was excellent in keeping me informed every step of the way. The work by all the different trades required for my solar system was done in a very professional manner and each team was always on time and the date scheduled.

Techs

Everything was fine until a roof vent needed to be removed due to incorrect measurements of how the 10 panels would fit on the roof. It took three visits and three techs to install one roof vent correctly. The techs arrived unprepared for the day and no one had spoken to them about what needed to be done on the vent BEFORE they arrived. I had to catch them up on what happened during the last visit. You guys need to meet with your techs a lot more. Such as every morning? Send them out with a plan. It seems the company struggles with something out of the normal installation routine

Top notch

Just had initial consult with Sunlux and their representative Bill Young. Was low pressure, very informative and insightful. Would highly recommend at least touching base with this company before you make your decision on who to go with

Smooth Solar Transaction

Our experience with Sunlux has been very positive. Before contracting Sunlux, I've researched other solar companies. Others were less expensive but ultimately, Sunlux provided the better deal. They have a local office, quality product and installation, professional crews, timely transactions and installation. The best part was the customer service received from Jerry Hong and Sergio Figueroa, and Jessica Britzman. Taking advantage of the tax credits for going solar is a big plus. I will definitely recommend Sunlux.

Great Communication and service

Every step of the way I was guided by Berlyn and her team. I am happy with the process and the quality of work.

Not a great experience

The system took way longer to install than it should have because they failed to do basic project managing. Two weeks in my find out my fuses are bad so I haven’t been producing power for the last two weeks. They said it was a monitoring issue and not a system issue. They were wrong again. So now they have to order new fuses two weeks in after the system was installed. I have really basic low expectations which they failed to meet at every turn of this project. Maybe my expectations that a new solar system will produce electricity are too high.

OUTSTANDING

I was introduced to Sunlux through KFI radio. A friend actually used this company ti install her solar and was overjoyed with your performance. Recently, I had Sunlux install my solar, and this company did an outstanding job from beginning to end Alex and Don were my contacts, and they were extremely responsive to each call, inquiry, and very informative. James, my installer, was friendly and explained his tasks for the day. My home was left very clean during both visits. Customer service is ALWAYS important, and with this company, it is TOP NOTCH! Thank you for the awesome job!

So glad my husband insisted on Sunlux

This company has been extremely professional in all our encounters. Price was super and the system is now working. My only comment was, the timing of installing a solar system is more about the electric company you are associated with, rather than Sunlux willingness to get the job done. If there is any negative to be told, it is that Sunlux did not clearly tell us that the electric company may be the bottle neck in the process. That said, the project manage Erika, was on the job constantly attempting to move the LADWP along. Great effort. Ultimately, I had to get involved personally and get the new agencies to join us in pushing LADWP to finish the job. Total time from discussion to final permit to operate was 4 months. Be aware that there is the willingness to put in solar and the electric companies resistance to having solar. Ultimately it is electric company, their meters, their wiring and their willingness to give an operating permit, that is more of a factor. That is not Sunlux fault. Everything that was in their power, they did promptly and professionally.

Project from start to finish went smoothly

After our first initial phone conference with Erik Karlson to working with Alex van der Colff, our SunLux experience has been nothing but the best for us. No questions nor concerns went unanswered and got speedy replies to both. Not once did I feel like I had asked a stupid question. The team worked together to get things done and on time. Highly recommend SunLux and would have loved to have given them more than the 5 stars that were offered here. Experience with SunLux

My experience in regards to getting a solar system installed by SunLux has been nothing but exceptional. From dealing with the sales manager Adam Cunningham to the project manager Alex Van Der Colff (sorry if I misspelled your last name). I asked numerous questions to Adam when I was shopping around and he was very responsive and informative. I decided to go with them because of his professionalism. Alex guided me through the whole process from that point to inspection process, approval, installation, etc. He was great and kept me informed especially during these Covid times which make things more difficult to accomplish in a timely manner. The installation team was also very efficient and clean during the panel installation process. Now I just hope going solar will pay off ;) Thank you SunLux Team!

New 11kWh system

Mark is great. We worked through a complicated set of issues to come up with a very productive and cost efficient system. I look forward to the implementation, before all the rules change…again!

Great Overall Experience

We researched many solar companies and chose SunLux for the superior solar panels offered. Additionally, our salesperson, Michael was patient as he answered all of our many questions. Together, we analyzed our electrical usage for the year and agreed on the perfect number of panels. After the project moved forward, Berlyn was in constant contact with us throughout our install. She thoroughly explained every step of the way so there were never any surprises or confusion. The installation crews and the inspector were both professional and courteous.

Sunlux Delivered!

My experience with Sunlux was exceptional. Everyone from my initial contact with their experienced energy expert Gary through installation and completion with Erica was great. They did what they promised: provided excellent service and follow up. Can't put a price on peace of mind which came from the continual communication and follow up from their staff. I chose Sunlux after much research and contact with other companies and am very happy with working with Sunlux. If you're thinking of solar, save yourself time and effort and contact Sunlux to do the job right.

Very high quality installation with perfect customer service.

They have been very nice and responsive throughout entire project and they done really nice work.

Excited for cheaper electric bills.

The only issue I had with the whole precess was with my city's permit office, they took a long time. Sunlux, stayed on top of that and give me frequent updates. Once the permit went through, Sunlux was out and had my system installed within a day. Service was great, I look forward to cheaper electric bills.

SunLux Experience

Had a meeting today with Don from SunLux. He educated us on solar and all of our options. Don comes from a technical background & has many years of experience in energy/solar. He is very honest & answered all of our questions. After our meeting, we have decided to proceed with SunLux. We are very impressed with their products and customer service. My husband and I feel very confident with our decision.

Good service and fair dealings

I chose Sunlux for their professional attitude and good reputation. Most of the things in the process went off on schedule and were well done! I particularly would compliment Berlyn Yamas for here helpful attitude and prompt service and response time.
