Excellent Customer Service

After contacting 9 different Solar companies and investigating the equipment and panels that they would install and reading numerous public reviews, I choose to go with SunLux. I have not regretted this decision. The process from the initial contact, to the review of the process to the paperwork and installation was simple, straightforward and easily followed. Couldn't have been more simple. Berlyn Yamas and Adam Cunningham are an excellent team and kept me up to date every step of the way.

Fantastic Company with Great Customer Service

They were perfect to work with. They had wonderful customer service. My project manager, Berlyn, was helpful, cooperative, and always kept me informed and in the loop. The whole team from start to finish was great. For a project this big, you want to make sure you have someone who priorities customer service. SunLux is that company.

SunLux is amazing!

I interviewed six solar companies, and I chose SunLux after speaking with Don Lupo. He took all my worries away by patiently answering all of my many questions. He referred me to my project manager, Berlyn Yamas, who ensured the solar transition was smooth from start to finish. Both Don and Berlyn were extremely knowledgeable and professional. All of the SunLux workers were polite, punctual, and hard working perfectionists. I have already recommended SunLux to my family and friends. Thank you all so very much!

good company, honest, credible

Sunlux had the least, maybe a total of three negative complaints by customers when checked on the Better Business Bureau (BBB) website. Compared to Sunrun, who advertises in Costco and Home Depot which had hundreds over the last 2-3 years!

Sunlux is a very professional solar company. Team members are very knowledgeable, and extremely respectful. Representative Adam Cunningham was thorough in explaining the initial process and continued to communicate throughout the process. Alex van der Colff, project manager was amazing, on top of every step of the installation and everything in between from permits to inspection. Alex van der Colff communication during the process was 10 out of 10. Alex made the process seem so easy. The professionalism of Alex and Adam is simply top notch.

Things explained, promises kept

I was advised to get a local company, and I tried, so I was dismayed to find my project manager was in Texas. However, Alex was always available to me, and up on what was happening. I felt he was in my corner.

The people at SunLux were amazing!

I interviewed 3 companies, and I chose SunLux because they explained everything so completely, and in a way that I could understand. It was also a very complete and fair package for solar, with quality materials, and a long extended warranty. However, above all else, the people at SunLux were amazing; however, there were several who went above and beyond. Eriika Garcia was my lifeline to understanding all of the procedures, and things needed by me during this process. I talked with her many times, and I probably needed more assistance than most of her customers because I am a senior citizen, and a little technologically challenged; but she always called me back right away, and was always gracious; in addition, ALL of the installers and techs who came to my home assisted me, and with SO MUCH PATIENCE, through it all-- All were kind and delightful people--Sergio, Michael, Jose, and more. Also, the consultant and customer service individual, Fernando, who came to my home initially, was patient and consistently available to answer any questions during the process. I will always gladly refer people to SunLux because my experience was so exemplary; and I know that anyone I refer will receive the same professional and honest experience.

Great Experience

The sales rep worked with us, answered all our questions, and configured the system we wanted. The price was competitive and the reviews were good.

Every person I talked to has been Great, from my initial sales call to inspection. Jessica Garcia was awesome. She kept me apprised of everything, coordinated everything and was just a pleasure to work with. I will Recommend SunLux to anyone.

Awful ... stay away

One star is too many ..... They are absolutely unprofessional . They gave me a bid and a timeline and it took 4 month to find out through the city expediter that SunLux design is faulty and it does not meet city standard , where we had provided them the exact requirements. Now after wasting so much of our time , they demand extra $5000 money for redesigning which requires more panel or stronger panel .. I ended up shopping the same with LA Solar whom are very professional and fast and demanded sunlux to refund my deposit and they did not . We took them to small claim court and they lost and up to day they are not paying whats owed to me so I am taking further action. Do your selves a favor and stay away from these guys

SunLux a company to provide for your 21st Century solar power

After researching numerous solar companies in the Southern California area we found that SunLux by far best company to do business with. The solar panels SunLux installs are state-of-the-art with 25 year warranties. Every person you deal with at SunLux from sales to project managers to the installers are direct company employees who are extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of the solar systems that SunLux installs. SunLux provided one-stop-shopping, they handle everything from system design to city permitting and final city inspection to coordinating with the electric company who grants permission to operate. These were the determining factors in choosing SunLux from other solar companies.

Quality Installation, Products, and Excellent Customer Service

From inquiry, to purchase, to installation, to completion, my experience with Sunlux has been completely positive. I researched a number of companies and then made inquiries to those with positive reviews and ratings on BBB, etc. Sunlux repeatedly came out on top. They were honest and upfront about what they would provide me without my having to ask (including the type of panels to be installed, etc.). Chris Adams was the salesperson I dealt with and he was incredibly patient, forthright, and very responsive. Although Sunlux was actually the highest quote I received, I felt like Chris was very upfront and I had a good feeling speaking with him. Based on what Sunlux offered product-wise and guarantee-wise as well as their willingness to work with me on the price and financing, I chose Sunlux and do not regret it. Once I purchased, Alex Van der Colf was my project manager and chief point of contact (even after he moved to the Austin office) and kept me updated throughout the process and helped me navigate the project through some hiccups (needing a new roof and other maintenance issues and an update to some additional items that needed to be installed). So, the process was long but not as a result of anything caused by Sunlux. Alex was very responsive, was flexible, and made sure all of my questions were promptly answered. Once I finished with re-roofing and fumigating, the installation was very quick and clean. They were designed so that they would not be unsightly or visible but still maximize production. I can barely see them on my roof from the backyard and not at all from the front or side. I appreciate the constant communication and explanation of what was going to happen next, both verbally, via email, and through the app. I was provided advanced information about the installation process, reminded again when they arrived for installation, before they left, during the inspection process, and finally upon completion. I have only had the system for about a day, but based on my experience so far, I expect that any issues I have in the future (hopefully there won't be any) will be handled with the same 5 star customer service that I have received throughout.

My experience

I called SunLux based on an interview I listened to on KFI AM640 with Dean Sharp. I looked at several companies and received many quotes, but after reviewing the warranty and the quality of the panels, my husband and I chose SunLux. I really liked the person who gave me the quote. We waited and asked questions over several months. He always checked in with me, but did not do a hard sell, as he respected my warning that we didn't react well to that style of sales. When we finally decided to go with SunLux, we were assigned a project manager. Unfortunately, the project manager is out of the loop when it comes to certain scheduling which defeats the purpose of having one go-to person who should coordinate what happens and when, as well as communicating appts to the customer. I liked our project manager, and I don't know if it was her or how scheduling is handled (is she even in the loop?), but there was a major breakdown in communication. I would often get a text, after I had left for work, that a worker was coming over. They needed the gate unlocked and the touch-up paint, etc. This was not good. Also, I learned after the first appt, that I need to ask how long I must be available at each appt. This info should be given without asking, so the customer can take the time off work and prepare. When my electrical panel was replaced, they failed to replace the GFI for the spa (which is expensive). We were not able to use the spa for several weeks without this safety mechanism. It wasn't in the original plan, so they were going to wait until it passed inspection before remedying the problem. In the meantime, I had an electrician put in a GFI spa power box in to solve the problem. I was happy that SunLux agreed to reimburse us for this. At the final inspection, when the city came out, the city had no record of my recent roof replacement inspection. The SunLux employee came to my door looking concerned asking if I had recently replaced the roof. I said yes. He said that the inspector had no record of my inspection. Luckily, I had it in a folder on my desk. SunLux should have pulled the permit on the roof before designing and installing the panels. There is really no excuse for not having this, in my opinion. Can you imagine what might have happened had I not had the inspection at my fingertips? Finally, the person replaced my electrical panel, for some reason, took off the phone box cover and didn't replace it. Getting this ordered and replaced has taken SunLux a few weeks. It is supposed to be replaced tomorrow. I have found that I must follow up continually to make sure things happen, which is weird because I still owe over 7K to SunLux, and I would think they would be even more motivated that me to finish this project and settle the bill. The best part of this entire process was how efficiently the panels were installed. I battled between 3 and 4 stars. Everyone at SunLux has been helpful and tried to remedy problems.

System not working, no call back

We chose this company because they had great reviews. There were some glitches in getting the panels installed, but that finally happened. They worked well enough for awhile, but stopped back in January. We didn't realize it until a couple of weeks ago, and put a call in to Sunlux and got a ticket number. We're still waiting to hear back from them. Mailbox is full, no return calls.

Communication is key!

I am very pleased with the choice of SunLux to be my provider of my Solar Energy system. From day one they communicated clearly, often, and accurately. Alex was the PM for my system installation and was usually providing answers before I knew my questions. As a contractor myself, I appreciated the qualified crews that performed each aspect of the installation.

Well done - no issues.

I found the SunLux team very responsive and kept me informed as things proceeded. The worked with me on changing the panel layout so the front street view of the house was not impacted by the placement. I definitely recommend them.

Over all great, some areas need improvement.

Over all I think SunLux and their employees are great. There are a couple of issues that need to be addressed for the future. One is the need to show the UFER ground in the City of Simi Valley. I think prior to punching holes in my stamped, colored concrete and punching holes in my stucco, you could have contacted the City of Simi Valley for their requirement in this area. I was present during the final inspection of the system and the inspector stated that if he had seen the power panel and it being newer construction, he was find with the ground. I was told that your stucco repair guy was good, and he is great, can not even see the patches to the stucco. But I still have a ground rod in my concrete. Again, everybody from sales to the construction and project managers has been great and I will recommend your company to family and friends.

A Valuable Asset to The Company

Bonnie Torres was always helpful and always responded as quickly as possible. We did discover some communication issues within the Sun Lux company which had a negative impact on the actual date of my installation, but we worked through it quickly, and I'm sure Bonnie will handle the internal issue within normal company protocols. I especially appreciated that Bonnie speaks absolutely fluent English, and she speaks very clearly and is easy to understand. Her written communication is also excellent; as a retired professor of English, I appreciate her skill.
