terrible product and company

A single solar panel should generate an average of 320 kWhs per month. We have 28 panels, and they are generating a TOTAL of 370 kWhs per month as a GROUP. Our panels are generating 4% of the power that they should be generating, and Solcius tells me that there's no problem to be fixed. Look, I’m an old dude. I’ve seen a lot of weird stuff. But the fine folks at Solcius take the cake for the worst-performing product and worst customer service I’ve ever experienced. Impressive stuff. For your own good, AVOID this company.

Response from Solcius Solar (Out of Business)

Tim, we are sorry to hear about your frustrations. I'm surprised to hear that you aren't satisfied with our product or customer service as we pride ourselves on those things. I've looked into your case extensively and it looks like your system is producing properly. As long as the solar panels are light blue on your app, your system is producing great! We want to make sure that everything continues in the right direction. We will give you a call as soon as possible so clear up any other questions or concerns that you might have.

Greedy people

A persistent Mexican guy on field sales rep pushed for solar. Solcius guy gave an overpower overpriced panels. There was a lot of back and forth corrections until I cancel them in the last minute for switching to better solar provider. Solcius guy was rude and threatening my home for liens, collection company and a waste of time on their business. Beware of this Solcius guy named Christian in Riverside County. He’ll put your life in misery. Solcius if you’re listening, evaluate his performance and behavior. Maybe all he wants from your company is the big bucks and not the customers satisfaction.

Response from Solcius Solar (Out of Business)

Ricky, we are very sorry to hear about your frustrations. We are very surprised to hear this as we pride ourselves on the sales companies that we partner with. We urge you to reach out to the company that your sales representative came from to get this taken care of. Unfortunately, due to the little amount of information that this platform gives us, we were not able to find you in our system. Please give us a call at (800) 960-4150 so that we can get this taken care of as soon as possible.

They Can't Fill Out a Simple Address

I can only give this one star, as I cannot even get my solar system turned on, and am paying for it. I've had this system installed in mid-November, and it's now April and it's still not turned on. It might be a different story if it were because of incorrect installation, material shortages, etc. However, the reason my system isn't turned on is because, whomever, or however, the applications is being filled out and submitted to my utility, who is the final approval, each and every time it gets rejected because "Premise and zip code were entered incorrectly". Six times. Six rejection letters so far. I've had to call, and granted, Solcius has reimbursed me for each month that I'm paying into my loan for this system, once I've asked them time after time, it's still something I don't want to continue doing, each and every month. Matt and Chris in Las Vegas sold me that I would begin accruing credits in the winter to make my bill easier, and yet here we are into Spring, coming into Summer, and I've got to call to ask what is going on, what I need to do, and will they reimburse me, each and every week nearly. All because someone cannot figure out how to write an address down. They've said it's an issue with the utility, but after five months, I don't care. They operate in Las Vegas, and I can't see them having this issue with every single customer in Las Vegas. Just frustrating to be paying for a nearly a $36k paperweight on my roof because someone can't get a simple address down, and it now makes me doubt the integrity of the system of the whole. If they cannot figure out an address, how can handle something more complicated such as roofing, or electrical systems, etc. Just incredibly unhappy and now worries at the whole of the service at this point, including the installation.

Over a year and still not connected

Ordered in Mar. 2020. Kept getting excuses and blaming XCel for delays, asking for info which had already been given to them, finally installed Jan. 2021, meaning a reduction in rebate, now Mar.and still not hooked up, said needed homeowners insurance which we had given them in Mar 2020, No one seems to communicate with each other there. About ready to tell them to take the panels off and we'll start over with another company.

8 months and still no solar power

What a joke. The last 4 months (of the 8) I only got a response when I would text to find out what was happening. Including me getting a message from the finance company telling me that the funding date was ending if I didn't sign. The panels were installed, but not hooked up (still not hooked up) I REGRET now signing before it was finished. If then only to find out they were blaming the power company. The problem is I was CC on all emails dealing with the power company and there has been nothing but mistakes from them that needed to be corrected. I am now seeking legal counsel.

Terrible customer service and follow through once panels are ins

We have had our panels for over six weeks and they are still not completely hooked up. We have tried to call and escalate and speak to a supervisor and manager and get nowhere. Every time we call they can’t see certain reports well I would like to know what reports are left to be done. there should be a checklist that is given to the customers and they should have one representative that they work with from the time of installation to the end of completion that organizes and gets everything done. I am ready to call the BBB and get a lawyer. I regret my husband picked this Company and because of customer service I will never recommend it and I work customer service.

So far very disappointed

We signed up at the end of August and were told it would take 6 to 8 weeks. It is late December now, and first payment was due today, so now I am making a payment for something that I am not even able to use. This whole process has been very frustrating. It didn't pass the first inspection, then we had to call to find out what was going on. You always get a generic text back. Waited 4 days once for them to get back with us before calling them again. After much waiting we were finally told we were ready to activate the system. It didn't work. When I call to find out when someone would come and fix the problem I got a generic text answer saying that they were waiting on their workers availability. WOW what customer service!! So unhappy with the Company. I wish I went with my neighbor's. I am leaving a 1 star for the workers they were really nice. Wish I could have them come just take it all back.

They do a very sloppy job, do not take accountability.

We got approached by gabriel Gonzalez first and said he would come back to do the application, that was 3 months later. Gabriel Gonzalez brought along Joshua who said he was training, so we started the application process and got approved. We did not here from them or the company again after 3 months and that's because we called them to ask when they were going to start. After solcius came to install the panels and said they were just waiting on the electric company. After a month we called the electric company and they said that solcius has not advised them about anything. Finally the electric company came to install the solar panels to the meter, but noticed that solcius had not yet made the upgrade so they could not install anything. Needless to say solcius called us again that we now need to do another credit application because the first one had expired. When solcius came to install the panels they broke our siding from our house. We told them you want us to do another application if you haven't even fix our siding that you all broke, did a very sloppy job and yet haven't even connected or upgrade the panels to be connected to the electric company.

A very misleading door salesman. We are elderly and retired. We do not file taxes anymore but we were told that we qualified for the credit or rebate that the Gov. offered. How surprised I was to find out that you had to have a taxable income to get it. What a nightmare. They told me that it's the responsibility of a third party " who ever they are". and they are not going to help me. We have had the panels for 5 months its only worked properly for 2 mo. it's been down now for 2 weeks now and no one has called yet to come and fix it. I can't believe at our age what a mess we've gotten into. someone should be ashamed and if you use subcontractors you should stand behind them.

Worst Experience with a company ever

Started with a bad service rep who never called back and never did what he said. They sent a manager to our home to fix things so we started to procede. Then when time for install they did not show up. When we would call we would not get called back. This process went on for about a year. Finally we thought the install was really going to happen but once again we had a no show. At which point they said the financing had expired and we would need to requallify but without the deals we had originally signed up with. We canceled because by now we were fed up. In the meantime they finally came and started the install hooking up a big box to our house, cutting a hole in our roof for a pipe, putting large metal pegs in our yard with a wire from the box to the these metal pegs (which I have tripped over). We ended up getting a bill for the cancelation which they did finally waive when I reported them to the BBB. However they refuse to come and remove the partially installed equipment or the hazard in our yard even after asking us to send photos to prove it is there. DO NOT go with this company. I have never had a worse experience in my entire life.

Everything started off good till it came for them to install a new meter on my house. Tech showed up late for first appointment which is just a walk through with SMUD so had to reschedule. Showed up on time for 2nd appointment on time. Worked out all the details with SMUD told me they had to put in a new underground power line so he would come back out when that was complete. I waited 2 weeks for SMUD to mark up all utility lines. At this point I reached out to Solcius multiple times to find out what is taking so long. They told me nothing can be done till markings were complete which I understand it just should not take that long. Markings get done and nobody shows up to put new line in. Call Solcius they tell me appointment is Monday at 8 AM. I take the morning off Monday from work nobody shows up. Call Solcius they tell appointment was rescheduled for next day. Nobody bothered to call me and tell me this. So now I have to take the next morning off SMUD shows up at 8 AM to shut power off Solcius tech still is not here. Call Solcius they tell me he is stuck in traffic. Solcius tech shows up at 9:30 AM tells me he is here to install Meter panel. This is the same tech who told me they were replacing underground power line now he is telling me they are not doing that. So I ask him why did I have to wait 2 weeks to get utility lines painted? He says I do not know. I go to work and tell him please call me if you need anything he says okay I have your number I will call if something comes up. I come home at 1:30 and he is gone the meter is still the same old one and my house has no power. He left a door hanger saying if I do not have power by 2 PM to call someone else. I call Solcius immediately and they send some other tech out which was great. He contacted SMUD and told me install was not done because wrong meter panel was ordered for my house. So now I have to wait till the correct meter comes in. This process has been a disaster this company has no customer service skills and do not understand how to treat their customers

Horrible

The sales rep Trey from Irmo SC seemed legit and everything he said made sense, until everything was signed and he would no longer return my calls. I was told the panels would cover 100% of my electric bill and I would only have to pay 5 to 10 dollars a month to stay connected to the grid. The contract showed that the panels would only cover 82%. The installation took longer than promised so I was making payments on the system before it was producing. Solcius rep said they would reimburse me for the two months I paid before the system was producing which never happened. Was told I would receive X amount back from state refund and X amount from federal and it wasn't even half of the amount quoted. Solcius should be ashamed of themselves for the way they are doing people. I don't like being taken advantage of. Hopefully others will read this review and others like it before being conned by these liars!!!

Sales people tell lies

I purchased the solar panels because of the salesman con job. He told me My monthly bill would be $10 because I would only be paying for the Electric company's electric unit each month and I would get $11,000 dollars back on taxes for the rebate. First, my electric bill has not changed not one bit since the solar panels have been up and running since October 2018 and South Carolina gives a $5500 rebate which equaled out to me getting a little over $2000 dollars total from my taxes. I encourage everyone to do their due diligence and research all information out there before purchasing solar panels.

Terrible experience

I don't think they really want my review, even though they have asked me more than once to post it. One star is really too high. This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I started this before the Rocky Mountain Power cut off grandfathering the watt-for-watt generation policy. I told them that if they didn't get my application in on time, it was a deal breaker. They didn't get it in, in spite of MANY calls in the week leading up to the cut off. They assured me that it was in and everything was settled. That was in 2017, October and November. After months and months of negotiating and frustration, they FINALLY finished the installation and got the meter set YESTERDAY, Jan 9, 2019. They still haven't finished their part of our agreement, which is to provide LED lighting throughout our entire house. They promise and don't come through. Time and time again I have called, they promise to call back and weeks go by before I hear from anyone. They would set appointments to come and then never show, or even call to let me know they weren't going to show up! They finally got the install done, (but we had no meter and it wasn't connected) and, suddenly they are harassing me almost constantly telling me that it is URGENT that I hurry and call the finance company and tell them that everything is done so they can get their money. It hasn't been urgent to them for 14 months!!! Frankly, they were asking me to commit fraud Because they were not done and I still had no solar power! I put my money out and for over 14 months, have nothing to show for it. I signed a contract originally, then 3 months later they had me sign another contract for a lower price. I figured they were trying to make up for missing the deadline. Now, I've lost the whole year's worth of solar savings, gone for 14 plus months with no interest on my 10,000, and I'm to get money off for their missing the deadline, in addition to their not providing the LED lights they promised. Now, when they're done, they want to go back to the original price of 10,000 more, and ignore the second contract they had me sign. How are they still in business???

Terrible Customer Service

We signed a contract in April. They sent three people over to inspect our attack in June, each time never saying anything to us before leaving. Finally called and said we needed beam retrofit - fine. We got another loan to pay for the total including the retrofit and the panels/install. Didn't hear from them again for FOUR MONTHS. We finally called them. Said their contractor was "sick." (Our thought... so, hire someone else??) Our loan expired. Had to apply for 2 new loans. We called again a month later after hearing nothing from them. They didn't answer or return calls. Finally, one week before the second loans would expire, they called to schedule everything. I had to stay home to accommodate their people coming on a Thursday. The work for everything - attic retro, panel install, etc - took a total of 12 hours of work. It took them three days. Then they called because someone in their department put in a new request to have us get ANOTHER loan - days after we already approved, with the loan company, the use of the funds to pay for the services. And we didn't get the promised patio furniture that was supposed to be set up when everything was installed - but then again, a summertime install was being completed EIGHT MONTHS later, in the winter, so really, not like we could use it anyway. Really, really disappointing. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE if you live in Western New York.

My Review Of Solcius

My entire experiance with this company is hoorible. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt this one was completely deserved. From the time of the sale in Jan. 2018 until now, they have been completely incompetant, unrelieable and untruthful. I was told at the time of sale my system would be installed and running in Mar 2018, April at the latest. Three different contracts were written for my sale and no explaination was given why. Each contract had different numbers as far as sizing, power % and rebate from NV energy. They finally installed the system and before they were off the roof, I received a call from the finance company telling me my first payment would be due 30 days from that day. After that, I heard nothing. I had multiple questions about warrenties and the installation process. My sales guy wouldn't return my calls and emails and customer service was a joke. Boxes weren't installed outside my home that needed to be in for the system to work and be inspected. Nothing was being done and no explaination was given to me throughout the summer. Fianlly in late Jul, early Aug, they installed the correct boxes that NV Energy required for inspection. I called in late Sep to inquire what was happening and while I was talking with them, they realized they had forgotten to submit my system for inspection. 1 1/2 months that noone realized this hadn't been done. Because I was upset (to say the least), they said they would make it up to me by paying me for the power my system would have produced starting May 20th until it was turned on (Oct 19th!!). A week after I had the system turned on, I received a call telling me my compensation check was on the way. When I received it, it was for $355.00. I emailed customer service to ask why it was so little and wanted to see the math because my system would produce alot my than $355.00 in 5 month summer hours of Las Vegas. I got a call from customer service shortly after telling me they changed their minds and were only giving me the interest payments on the loan which was $71.00 per month. They never bothered to Email or call to inform me of this change, which I think is completely unacceptable. I believe I would have produced much more in power, not had an electric bill with the power company and I had to make payments on the loan for a system that didn't work. I've had multiple homes and have had alot of companies do work to them. Never have I experianced this kind of incompetance. DO NOT hire Solcius for your system. There is alot more I could write, but I have no more patients for them and will be turning this over to the BBB and I'm looking into a lawsuit. My roof also started to leak after install and the person they sent out to look at it never went in the attic or on the roof, but stood on my pool deck and said it could not be from them. Received a bill the very next day for $125.00 for a roof inspection. I hope this reveiw will prevent anyone else from having to go through what we've been through. They like to sign your Docs on their computers for you when they are trying to sell you a system also. Contract lacks warrenties for the panels and inverter, that's if they can figure out what kind of panels you have installed.
