Sam Johnson worked with us on planning and designing our solar project. I have to say that the installers were the most polite, clean and efficient crew I have worked with. Really! These guys were great. 3 months later and our energy bill went from $320. - 400./month to this month; $68.00 and that is with the A/C running. I cannot say enough about these guys. From beginning to end the entire company was professional all the way!

SolarTech Inc (based in El Cajon, CA) has a mixed reputation, with recent reviews highlighting significant issues with project delays, poor communication, and slow customer service, alongside some reports of professional installation, according to Yelp reviews and Better Business Bureau complaints. This is shitty company. Lag of communication and customer service. Their number never can be reached after you paid for it. Stay away from this company.

Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. Not only did they take 2 months longer than promised and show absolutely no urgency to finish our project, not only did they fail to show up when they said they would or communicate with us at every stage of the process, but their technician literally dropped a solar panel off our roof and caused $1K of damage in our courtyard, which they only repaid after we hounded them for months. Would NOT recommend.

System was installed in 2017, first time the inverter failed in April 2025 i had a hard time getting anyone to answer the phone at Solar Tech. I had to find a local company that works with or is a authorized dealer/technician with Solar Edge. An appointment was made and two weeks later the tech diagnosed the Inverter being bad. in telephone conversations between the tech and Solar Edge he had to remove almost half of my 30 panels as requested by Solar Tech and get to connections then reconnect everything on the roof. Solar Tech then agreed that the inverter had to be replaced. Inverter is under warranty and showed up in a week. Of course I had to pay the Tech for all that work and remove and install new inverter at the tune of $1,900. I was back on line quickly but had to pay for 4 weeks of Florida Power electricity and pay for my loan on the system as well. Now 5 months later the Solar Tech inverter failed again in Sep 2025 according to same tech i used before. He showed up promptly and Solar Tech had him troubleshoot and quickly agreed Inverted had failed. This time it took three weeks for the inverter to show up. I am expecting it in a few days. Again, I will be out of solar power for another 4 weeks and I am still paying for the remainder of my solar system loan. Equipment indicated below is original equipment.

We had solar tech come out for an installation. They never tighten the screw in the junction box that controls adding power to the home and back to the grid. Every day this solar box shorted out. We emailed and called for over 2 months to get someone out to troubleshoot. I had to fight with the tech to get them to come out and fix it. I was told there is no way it is a system issue. I escalated to sunpower and they finally came out. The first tech did not find the problem. I had to go through the calling and emailing again until they sent a better tech. He checked the box and found the screw was never tightened and causing a daily short. Our power bills were large due to summer rates and no solar. Also, they told us everything was fine when it was not. Now, they will do nothing to compensate us and ignore emails and calls. Don't use this company

My Solar installation and PTO went quite smoothly. Very knowledgeable sales/tech and timely.

1 because I have to leave a review. They are unprofessional, misguiding customers JUST to get business, poor work quality and ethics. Over a year to install Tesla Powerwall without any updates, stating their installers are construction workers and are not skilled to do clean work and so customers have to put up (see pictures). Designing critical loads w/o customer involvement as customers find half backed up critical load at power-outages. When reported to Solar Tech project manager Paul L, one finds him angry and mad that customers are reaching out to him post installation, asking for $500 a circuit. Gino S, is their sales rep, falsely assuring customers to lure contracts. After giving Gino business for first 2 powerwalls, I went with LA Solar for other 2 power walls, and no issues. In fact, they don't collect any funds and whole thing is funded by SGIP. Keep away from Paul and Gino at Solartech who bring shame to others at SolarTech

My wife and I have purchased panels through SolarTech twice now. Their customer service as far as sales and installation are top notch. Their customer service in regards to warranty issues though leaves much to be desired. They blame you, they blame SunPower, and don’t return calls. It got to the point where I had to file a formal complaint against them through SunPower. In the first 10 months our panels were installed we had 2 separate warranty issues. The first issue took 5 weeks for them to resolve. SolarTech has 2.33/5 stars on the Better Business Bureau website. Check out the reviews there, they are almost identical to ours.

SolarTech was great. Quick response time for any questions, and I love the results. The phone and computer app lets me see daily what my usage and savings are. Jason was wonderful in answering any questions. Install was fast and clean. They put the panels where I wanted, and they have been effective, leaving me with savings since the installation was made. Haven't had an electric bill for energy use since the installation (and I have a plug in hybrid car that I can plug in at any time now vice waiting until after midnight). Love the solar.

We installed our solar system and new roof with SolarTech and are extremely happy! The roof and solar look amazing and everyone has been so helpful throughout the process! Our roof took less than a week and the crew was polite, in good spirits and were meticulous about picking up all trash and nails every day before leaving. The process is seamless... the first day they striped our existing roof down to the original wood and the 2nd day loaded all the materials on the roof and then it was on to installing the new roof. Brad the project manager called to set our dates the week prior and stoped by in person the first day to review the project with us. Our solar installation only took a day to install, the crew was polite, professional and again cleaned up after themselves- nothing was left on my property at all after the installation was finished. They have the process down to a science and we're very receptive to our requests to have panels be symmetrical. I am looking forward to my fixed monthly payments with our loan and MORE electricity with no more sky rocketing SDGE bills during the summer. One company for both projects is the way to go. I was especially happy with SolarTech not using any sub contractors and having all in house crews. I don't have to question the quality. The installation crews were happy and everyone who came to the house took pride in their work and were very respectful. SolarTech also uses the best quality products for both roofing (Owens Corning) and solar (SunPower). With SunPower I know I'm covered for 25 years including materials and labor. SunPower will produce more power for a longer, they look nicer than other options (they are on the front of my home) and they're an American company. Very happy with our decision to go solar and install a new roof with SolarTech! Great work!

I received a flier in the mail. I met the sales person. He was very professional but down to earth and informative. I just moved in but i made solar a priority. They beat costco's price. The company is made up of excellent people. I'm highly pleased with the product and process. I'd recommend them. Take advantage of the deals now. Don't wait!!

Throughout the entire process of discussing the solar and then buying the solar from solar tech inc Gino made it very easy. He explained the quality of the panels, discussed how many we needed based on our SDGE bill, and then was up front with the cost. He put NO PRESSURE on us, and just left the decision to us on what we wanted to do. I even recommended him to a friend who also bought the solar from solar tech inc. I would recommend them to anybody looking to buy solar for their home.

We have been debating getting solar for a couple of years now and after months of $300+ SDG&E bills we finally decided it had to be done. We got quotes from 4 different companies and in the end we went with SolarTech. Gino the salesman was very professional and easy to work with. He looked at our previous electricity bills to determine the best sized system to work for us. We settled on a 5.31 KW and it has been working flawlessly for the last 6 months. It's so nice seeing our SDG&E bills go from $300 to $21. The installation crew were timely and made sure to paint all the conduit to match the home. They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave anything behind. If you are looking for solar make sure that SolarTech is on your list of companies to get a quote from. We highly recommend them!

We began to consider Solar two years ago to address both environmental issues and rising energy costs. At the time a lease or long term payment plan was being offered which did not make economic sense to us. Earlier this Spring we renewed our interest & talked to several Solar companies with the intent to purchase a system. Our search led us to Eric Broderdorf and SolarTech. Eric was knowledgeable with a no pressure approach. The solar panels recommended were by SunPower, a US based product with independent power convertors/monitoring and a 25 year warranty, all of which was important to us. At that point we decided to choose SolarTech and turned our attention to the condition of the roof. Once again we considered several roofing companies. After meeting with Brad Stamm and comparing the Solar Tech Roofing proposal, we made the decision to renew the roof prior to the solar panel installation. The roof was replaced in a professional and timely manner. Our Solar Tech project manager, Grant Magoffin, was most efficient in coordinating the entire project. We were impressed with the installation of the panels as well as the attention to details and aesthetics of the electrical installation. Alex and his crew did a great job. In just six weeks from signing the original contract Charlene Reed was on site to coordinate the final inspection. In just a few days SDG&E gave us permission to initiate the System. The SunPower App is amazing. I can monitor the output of the solar panels on a daily/hourly basis and reflect the weekly, monthly, yearly as well as overall solar output to the grid vs our actual electrical usage. I write very few reviews but I love to read them. I called the top highly rated companies and a few recommended by friends and had several presentations. I'm a single mom and this was a very large purchase for me. Solar makes sense if you do it right. I averaged about $200/mo towards Edison and I was sure it was going to rise. Ali's presentation was the most impressive. He purchases small samples of the sun power panels and brings those along with the standard competitors' and lets you break them to see how sun-power is more durable and doesn't shatter like the other panels. And sun-power is American made. His pricing and financing also was the most impressive. And no pressure which I really appreciated so much. I went through SDMCU and bought down my rate to 2.99% for 12 years. After I get my rebate and apply that to my loan my payments are going to be less than $180 for 24 panels and solar pool heater. The solar pool heater didn't add much to my monthly payments I think about a $10 difference and allows me to enjoy my pool a bit more. Then the installation crew, they never ceased to impress me. The foreman, Miguel went beyond my expectations. He painted all the metal pipes, very professionally. Maintaining curb appeal. And very nice people. Then Tyler with his helper came a week later to install the solar pool heater. Another super nice, professional worker. After the install Charlene technical support came to set everything up. She is amazing. Very supportive and reassuring. She gave me her business card and told me to contact her for any concerns or questions and she lives close by if I have any problems with the system it would be no problem for her to come by. There were a few snags along the way but everyone was very responsive and accommodating. Ali would follow up and update me and followed up on customer satisfaction. Really great wonderful people who had quality products and even higher quality customer service. I really am very glad I went with Solartech.

Ali was awesome!!!! From day 1, when, we were referred and introduced to him. Our neighbor installed solar and they recommended Ali from Solar Tech to us. We were shopping and going around different solar installation companies. When Ali stopped by it all just made more sense about us going forward with the installation. Others were not sure to some saying it's up to you, while Ali researched and went thru our electric bill statements and on then recommended that we should install solar. Then the process started and until it was complete Ali was asking and updating us. Solar Tech has great 25year warranty and great product most efficient solar panels. We recently finished our 3.35kW solar install with Solar Tech, and we are extremely pleased with the process and finished result. After dozens of quotes from local installers, I found Solar Tech offers the best value of any residential solar company. We were able to get a SunPower X21 Equinox AC system (with a 25yr warranty and one of the most efficient system options) at a price comparable to other mid-range systems. We also decided to upgrade our main service meter panel, which turned out great and gives us the capacity to add additional solar in the future if needed. Our energy consultant Drew was very professional and made sure that our install went smoothly every step of the way. This company values their customers regardless of how large or small the installation size is, and does a high quality job on the installation. I'd happily recommend Solar Tech for residential solar installations.

If you are looking for a PV/Pool solar company that has most friendly and courteous staff, do their job on time, provide best workmanship, do not come up with additional costs and even assist the customer by going out of their way, I would highly recommend SolarTech!! I spent a few months and have searched and interviewed a number of solar companies, out of which SolarTech won my business, because of professionalism, honesty, quality product, workmanship and price. Eric and grant were very friendly and courteous, explained the entire process down to earth. Eric has kindly provided me with different options, to protect best of customer interest, on panels and recommended best places to install these for maximum electric generation. I've ended up signing a contract to install our solar PV and solar pool and entire pool system. They assisted me to select the best institution for financing. I was also planning to re-roof our house and their recommendation to work with J.B. Roofing was an excellent one!! From the first day of this project starting with tearing-off of our old roof, installation of new roof, installation of solar PV and solar pool, replacing new pool pump and pool filter all went exactly as promised and done to my exact satisfaction. During the process all of the staff involved (over 20!) were very careful, kind and did as much as they could to provide great service and workmanship. I think those companies that provide great service and competitive pricing must be supported and for this reason I highly recommend SolarTech.

I went with SolarTech because of the quality of the product and payment options I could afford. We would up buying solar panels, an electric panel upgrade, a pool heater and a new pool pump for a great price. I was also really pleased with the quality and promptness of the service. The workmanship was seamless- no gaping holes or other problems. Very clean work. Staff was extremely responsive. I would highly recommend Ali Ibrahim for sales. He was our point person for the loan and contract. Shauna Harness was also extremely helpful with completing the paperwork and staying on top of the project. Would highly recommend this company.

I would like to say to thank everyone at Solartech. It was been a great pleasure to work with all of them. Eric the salesman was helpful from the beginning, answering all of my questions in a timely manner and keeping us within our budget and enabling us to get the large sized system we wanted to eliminate our electric bill. The installers were super friendly and very knowledgable and helpful. Any small or large question I had, they were able to answer in a way that made sense to me. In addition, after we signed the contract, the system was installed very quickly afterwards. Shauna-I appreciate all of your update emails and helping push through all of the necessary paperwork with SCE. Trying to navigate that on our own would have been a huge pain in the ass! And, finally, Charlene was very helpful in explaining the monitoring and what we could/should expect from our system. I truly appreciate everyone at Solartech and all of their great customer service. We’d much rather give them our money than the electric company :)

Absolutely Amazing job done by the SolarTech crew. Jason Stringham (Owner) came in and had the best suggestions and knowledge. He ensures to explain how the system works and is readily available to meet or answer any questions before, during, and after the installation. The crew was very professional and give frequent updates. The customer service men and women (Ashley and Shauna) were kind, courteous, and extremely help. This company is by far the best in the business. Do not hesitate to call and hire them for all your solar needs. They are not a company just looking to sell you a producr they are there to ensure the customer is the #1 priority and your happiness is 1st!!!

Being that I am a project manager by profession, I’ve worked with many subcontractors and can say that your company has been a pleasure to work with. After inspecting the finished product, I was pleasantly surprised to see the conduit painted to match. I fully expected to see ugly shiny galvanized conduit. Even the roof conduit and flashing was painted to match! Ryan and the rest of the guys did a fantastic job routing the conduit to be hidden, completing on time as explained and leaving a clean jobsite. When it came time to purchase a solar power system for my home, I wanted to make an informed decision. I shopped around and met with 6 other providers on several occasions. As competitive as the solar energy market is for providers, SolarTech was by far the best choice to go with when it came to cost, quality of their product, knowledge of their product, and legendary customer service. I knew little to nothing when it came to solar energy systems for residential homes prior to my venture with SolarTech. The people at SolarTech were phenomenal; educating me on everything there is to know about solar energy systems. I went with the 9.8kw Sunpower system and it has done wonders for my SDG&E bill, $15 a month! Ali was extremely helpful and made himself available throughout the installation process, he was there every step of the way. Ali also helped me with a 200 amp. panel upgrade, I highly recommend this! SolarTech's project manager Grant was also helpful and available during the installation process from start to finish. Overall SolarTech is the way to go hands down. They are great people and pleasant to deal with.
