Customer Service

18 months ago I signed a contract to install a solar power system on my roof. The roof was 17 years old and approaching its end of life. Shine Solar encouraged me to sign the contract and they would remove and reinstall the solar panels for me when I replace my roof in the future. I had the uninstall and the reinstall included in my solar power system contact. Fast forward to yesterday. I have a contract for a new roof to be installed (in 5 weeks) on July 12, 2022. I called Shine Solar to schedule the removal and reinstallation of the solar panels. Shine Solar told me the earliest they could remove my solar panels is Oct 20, 2022. Before the contract it was: "It's easy to remove and reinstall the solar panels for a roof replacement" and after the contract it's: "We're too busy and cannot get to you, to honor our contract for 19.5 weeks" They need to change the name of their department from: Customer Service to: Customer Denial Too busy serving new customers to serve older customers. Not a good business plan!

Would not recommend to my worst enemy!!!

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy and Coy knows this too as do others in this horrible company. I had the system installed in Mar 2022. My monthly solar payments are $184.94 and I saved a whopping $19.42 on my electric bill. Why in hell would someone want to pay more in solar payments than the actual electric bill would have been otherwise. Also, they suggested I trim/remove trees that are blocking where THEIR ENGINEERS put the panels. The cost to remove the trees is $3000.00 I asked TJ how long it would take me to generate enough solar to justify this expense because they put them under the trees and on the wrong side of the house. Also, after the sale it is less painful to pull your teeth with a pair of pliers than get a call back from them. Sign here, thank you, go to hell.

We feel that we are making a good investment and they seem to be truthful in all expectations.

Great Solar Experience

I just finished getting my solar panels from shine solar and got an awesome generator as a bonus add on and 500 dollars for being military. my solar panels are also generating my energy needs during the day as well as putting energy back on the grid! it's been a super easy process where I barely had to lift a finger! I cannot wait to see my first electricity bill. I'll post something on Facebook how much I am saving in case ppl care to look. Thanks again Shine! YOU ROCK!

Awesome experience

Very friendly and polite customer service reps, easy hassle free install and high quality products make shine solar an awesome choice. The supply chain slow down due to corona did push our installation process past the anticipated date, but once that was resolved the install took no time and looks great!

We just had our solar panels installed and they are up and running!! Shine Solar has been friendly and informative through the whole process. Any problems that have come up, SS has corrected immediately. The installers were very friendly and hard working. Highly recommend Shine Solar!!

Wow… Just Wow!!

I just can’t find the words to say enough great things about Shine Solar!! They are the best, they got my system installed & working super fast, they patiently answered all the million questions I had, they are so professional, they added extra insulation in my attic and included a whole house generator so I will never be without electricity even if the grid is down. The installers were top of the line, the day my system was being installed it had rained for 2 days so it was a muddy mess, they smoothed the ground when they were finished & even planted grass seeds, so now you can’t even tell they were there. You just don’t find that quality of work very often anymore. If you are thinking about going solar I highly recommend them!!

Shine solar did everything they could to ensure our solar system would operate to its maximal potential. The installation was quick and customer service was excellent!

Bad experience, false information

First exposure to ShineSolar, and at the beginning of the process everything seemed normal and going well. After installation completed the first bad moment occurred, it was when I would leave work to meet with the inspectors at a time they scheduled and wait at home for 1-2 hours with no one showing up. This happened multiple times. My work is in healthcare and I work for one of the few large hospital in the city. Like many other hospital across the country and world there is a shortage of care to patient load. At this time I worked seven days of the week averaging ten hours a day or more. I try really hard to cooperate with ShineSolar and the utility company, unfortunately yield no success. After never meeting the final inspection I wrote a review on google with my disbelief. Shortly after my panels miraculously started working with never meeting this inspector I've been trying relentlessly to meet. Prior, the system was not working for approximately three months and I was being charged by ShineSolar for payments while also being billed by the grid. For only one month, the month prior to the panel working, I received a solar report showing I generated energy while all this was going on. Of course my anger cause me to review and coincidentally the panel work shortly after. The worst part is yet to come. First I must tell that I was informed by ShineSolar that when I have leftover energy that I do not consume it'll be store by the grid and I'll either be able to pull from there or distribute to the grid and be compensated accordingly to the market price. ( - an example given to me, if i don't consume the energy I generated it'll go to the grid and they'll store it and at night when I need it the grid will deliver back what I did not use). This ability to pull or distribute have never been done or am I able to. I review my contract I "signed" and I notice that my contract stated that I am not eligible to do such. The action by ShineSolar to their words is untrue, false, unfaithful, unreliable, fabricated, overall I will not trust them. They do not look for the customer's best interest. Additional information: I have a 7 kW system installed for over $37,000. Definitely sounds unfair, unreasonable and unjustified. I've done some stupid things in my life, and no doubt everyone have. To TRUST them is by far the STUPIDEST thing I've done. Maybe I drew a bad stick of the bunch when it came to overall experience, in their defense. The panel installation team was the only positive. Really hope no more people have to endure such regret. The contract is what matters at the end of the day, a he-said-she-said, is nothing in solidarity. I believed in them and they abused my trust. Then again that's modern capitalism and I do hope and believe karma will return in a way or form to those who lie for their own gains. God bless and hope the best.

Installation just completed recently. Everything went quickly and according to schedule. Installation teams were great - professional, timely and did great work / clean up. Received promotions during install (rebate / generator) and got added benefit of upgraded attic insulation that we weren't even expecting. Also, love the online monitoring tools. Highly recommended.
