Purelight Power

This company no longer exists. After some digging online, I found that Infinity Solar bought remaining assets of Purelight at auction. I called Infinity (in Portland, OR) to see how they are handling Solgen/Purelight customer accounts and was told customers are being prioritized based on the bankruptcy court decisions. I’m guessing since my system is installed, running fine and paid off, I’m not a high priority customer. I only need maintenance and uninstall/reinstall when our roof is replaced. If you have a pending install or have already paid, but haven’t received goods/services, it’s probably best to reach out to Infinity to see if you are on their list of priorities. Good luck to all. very bad situation

good morning, working with purelight power has been a terrible experience. the salesperson was great to deal with and then it all went downhill from there, lengthy engineering process, trenches opened up on my property for several months, damaged sprinkler lines, damaged pond equipment from there electricians, leaky roof and the best punch to the face is they are no longer going to be doing work in Washington state so there customer service agents comment to me was deal with it. they will not be honoring their warranty moving forward. I highly recommend you find another solar company and do not make the mistake i made. purelight power acted in bad faith and are in breach of their contract. the most epic bait and switch i have ever experienced in my lifetime.

I was bilked out of thousands

In my opinion, I was shown a contract for a rather large sum of money to install the product and I agreed. Upon completion I learned that there was a additional cost which I had no prior notice of which increased the overall price approximately sixteen thousand dollars. Beware of this company! I'm ashamed of myself for getting involved with them.

Disappointed experience

We started our solar add-on project with Purelight in late June 2025 and signed our agreement on July 2nd to increase our solar capacity. From that point forward, it has been nothing but frustration and disappointment. Since installation, we’ve dealt with constant headaches, poor customer service, zero communication, and a company that seems completely unmotivated to finish the job they started. In July, Purelight turned off our existing panels without any notice, and because of their electrical work, our system was completely offline until almost November costing us money due to lost production of summer time sun. They advertise a 10–12 week turnaround from start to power-up — we’re well past that and still don’t have a fully operational system mid November. Delays happen, but the total lack of communication or accountability is inexcusable. Every interaction feels like we’re being brushed off, and it’s clear the only thing this company prioritizes is getting paid, not delivering a quality product or experience. Purelight has shown no genuine concern for their customers or the promises they make. I would absolutely not recommend them — save yourself the stress and take your business elsewhere.

awful customer service, on the phone

sales person went on to tell me what I needed and did not need. I asked for a specific quote and was given a high price meant to drive me into a contractual set up so they make more money over time. He was rude and put words into my mouth and inferences to what I was asking. When he could not accept my requests for a quote so I could have other solar owners compare equipment he refused and said I was not right for them & that I was waiting their time. It seems competition and comparison or price shopping scares them. Salesman said he was from Sacramento and the company is from Oregon, where exactly he did not say

Very poor communication!

I had Purelight Solar install a 9-panel system back in May 2025, and it's been nothing but headaches from the start. Right after net metering was activated by my utility, four panels stopped producing energy, and the app wasn't even showing the correct number of panels. I reached out multiple times via email and texts, detailing everything, but their communication was abysmal—days or weeks would go by with no response, vague promises, or no follow-up at all. It felt like they didn't care about customer service once the installation was done.They finally fixed the app issue last week (early November 2025), but it took months of me chasing them down. The whole experience has left me questioning their reliability and whether the system will hold up under warranty. Poor communication turned a simple fix into a frustrating ordeal. I wouldn't recommend Purelight Solar to anyone—look elsewhere for better support and transparency.

Incompetence and lack of communication

Communication is non-existent; getting the system installed took ages (weeks between panels on roof, then wiring trenched, then hook-up to meter/panel. Weeks !! Then the utility won't approve because the application was full of incorrect info. More weeks while Purelight corrected that. Now utility says info in revised application is incorrect and missing data. THIS IS THE SECOND APPLICATION ---- the system is fully installed but simply never turned on yet. THREE MONTHS (next week) since this began. I've only had a contact phone for about a month, which is more than I had during the dragged-out construction, but now all I hear is "we are working on that". Sunday is November 1st, and I have no confidence that this will be operational in time to qualify for even one dollar of government rebates, as they are all being cancelled at the end of 2025. Incompetence and lack of communication are the first words I think of when I think of Purelight Power.

Sales people lie to make the sale

DO NOT USE THEM THEIR SALES PEOPLE LIE AND THEY WILL SCAM YOU! We were told that we should sign up with them now because we would be locked into a rate with PGE and PGE couldn't raise that rate on us. (This was end of 2024) About 7 months after the solar was installed we got a bill from PGE saying we owned about $100 more then just the hookup fee. When I looked at the bill I noticed we have no backstock of credits as summer just ended. When we signed up they looked at our previous bills with PGE to make sure we were putting up enough solar to cover 85% of our total usuage. I also went back and looked at our usage and we are using less power then we were this time of the year last year, but still getting a bill. I could understand getting a bill towards the end of winter but the end of summer makes no sense. The sales people told us over and over again if we get a bill to call them and they will handle it. I called and was told this was all a lie and they are sorry. Their whole sale pitch is about putting up the enough solar so you switch from paying PGE to paying off the solar. But going into winter we have no backstock of credits like we were promised we would have, and all they keep saying is the system is working perfectly and they are sorry their sales team lied about multiple different things to make the sale. Our solar was also not done on time, and they had to come back to put stickers on things delaying the process.

System never turned on, company refuses to take action

We had a large solar system with a battery installed on a second home in Roseburg in fall 2024. The company knew from the start that it was a second home and there was no wifi. After installation they refused to come out and provide any information about monitoring the system in person, claiming that nothing could be done without wifi. On multiple occasions I called with concerns that the system wasn't working, based on our power bills. They maintained that nothing could be done. Finally we had wifi installed purely to look at the solar system. Turns out that the system was never physically turned on. The tech support guy over the phone told me which boxes to open and which breakers and levers to move, and the system started working. Clearly no wifi was required to fix the problem, they could have come out and looked at it or simply told me what to check, at any point. Now they are refusing to give us any sort of accommodation or reimbursement for the time (almost a full calendar year) that the system was not operational. Truly appalling, negligent behavior. We are forced to take legal action, and want to warn others to stay far away from this operation.

NEVER SIGN ANYTHING!!!!!!! This is a scam-

It started with a shady person from Purelight standing in my driveway staring at my roof. It progressed to salesman who lied to my face, while shaking my hand promising that we were in no way obligated to purchase. It then progressed to a "site survey" which was scheduled outside of the cancellation process, scamming my family into a non-refundable $750. Their emails promised that "no communication is good" while the process moves forward. RUN AWAY from this company.

Unsatisfactory

I'm terribly soured on solar due to the interactions I've had with Pure light power. They do not communicate well if at all, they do not return phone calls, they are never on time, they do undue damage to property, they broke 2 security cameras which they agreed to reimburse me for and have not as of today this was 3 months ago. I would never recommend this company to anyone!!!! My husband is still picking nails out of my yard and driveway. Such a shady company!!!!!!

Was quoted very high price for a system using the cheapest parts available. Out of all 5 bids they were they highest . They told me the 30% tax credit was an actual refund when in reality it is not. I was also advised I could lie on my tax return because “ is the IRS actually going to come out and see when you installed”

Scam - Beware

They never completed their permits with the city, for 3 years. They installed a faulty ground and haven't come out to fix it, it's been over a month since they were notified by the city. And what makes it worse, we've never gotten the electricity we were promised. AVOID PURELIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They want nothing to do with you after you've signed up. Horrible integrity and customer service.

MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE EVER! THEY ARE ALL A TEAM OF LIARS

WOW!! I cannot believe how awful this company turned out to be! Why would I have taken out a loan (through them!) for solar panels if they had told me the solar panels would cover only up to 25% of my power usage?!!!! They said they guaranteed we would generate at least 90% of the power we normally did (based on the utility bills they had me give them). AND that all of the extra power would be stored at Inland Power until we needed it in the winter or cloudier months! Now, when we see what it is generating, it is less than 25%....I requested the recorded Zoom calls from the sales pitch and they mysteriously do not exist any more! I tried to complain to the loan company that they are working with scammers, but they cannot help! I will be calling an attorney and would caution EVERYONE to not deal with PURELIGHT SOLAR!!!!

1 year review total lies

We signed up with Pure Light Power based on what the sales person laid out. He totally dropped the ball. We get the 2nd phase and the new person has no idea what sales person promised. We always wanted our main house included in solar calculations. Come to find out sales person did not. So back to calculations of how many panels will need to add house. Since we were added we asked how many would be needed if we cover an EV plug. Assuming they are factoring in hypothetical EV usage since this would not be included on our past year electric bill. Its a year later and we have had to pay for electricity 3 months in a row and have only used the EV charge 5x. My assumption is they will have to add more panels. Nope, assessment comes back we are with the 90% of what they promised. I push back because we didn’t use the EV charger so if we had their calculation would be too low. We’ll see how this turns out, but bet is they charged us for 3 extra panels ($8k) with no thought to would this really cover using the EV usage. Bottom line there are better solar company’s in Bend to use.

BEWARE!! SLIPPERY CANCELLATION CLAUSE!

All I wanted was to get the full picture of what solar on my roof would cost. Nice young sales lady was slick on the hard sell and light on the cancellation details. Did not expect to be billed for a THOUSAND DOLLARS for them to give me a complete quote. Their "Site Survey" will cost you this amount if you don't go through with the installation. Their "engineer" said there was no issue with installing a 30K array on a 24 year old asphalt roof. When I disagreed and did not follow up, they charged me this $1000 fee. Nothing like the feeling of having your excellent credit score held for this underhanded ransom.

Dishonest salesman

If you choose PURELIGHT for your solar power make sure you research everything very carefully. The salesman totally lies to me about an income tax rebate. Check it out first.

They won't work with you

They were going door to door saying they were doing some deal with Midamerican Energy to give the 'best savings' to their customers. He wouldn't elaborate so I already doubt this is true. I had looked into solar before and was actually rejected due to my roof not having enough space to make it profitable. I told that to this guy but he was swearing up and down Purelight Power could make it work. I thought ok fine let's give it a shot. I setup a meeting and send over my energy usage numbers so they could prepare. Dude shows up at my door and within 1 minute he's inflexible delivering an ultimatum. I let him know right away that I don't make large expense decisions the same day they're proposed. I always sleep on it. It's my rule to stay responsible and I'm always up front about that. He wasn't terribly happy and threatened that the price could double if I don't make a decision "quickly". But he wouldn't articulate what quickly meant. How about the next day? Is that quickly enough? He then turned did the sales trick and took control of the conversation by asking me if the numbers were good, would I be interested? I said of course. "Ok that's all I can offer". Yea no shit. That's why you're here bozo. Dude comes in. He asks if I live alone. No I live with my wife. Oh she has to be here at the meeting. I'm surprised because nobody ever set that expectation. My wife doesn't like these kind of meetings and I'm always better handling sales than she is so our family dynamic is I screen them and relay the information and we decide together. Apparently this is not ok with Purelight. Hey man, she doesn't like these meetings. This is how we do things. "You can either go get her right now or we can reschedule" I try to suggest maybe just giving me the numbers in a hard copy and I can relay those. "You can either go get her right now or we can reschedule" You're already here and you did all the prework, you can't just give me that? "You can either go get her right now or we can reschedule" 2 control-taking ultimatums in less than 1 minute. No flexibility. I can see how this would go if I actually did purchase from Purelight. I'm done. Fk these clowns.

Contract scam

Be careful with your contract. The contract draft sent to me was different than the contract I signed. In my contract draft, they were supposed to pay the first six months of my solar panel payments or reimburse me for them. In the contract I actually signed the conveniently forgot to put that in the contract. They have told me they still owe me the money and need to fix my contract but have yet to fix it. They have not paid one payment of the first six payments on my solar panel bill since they have been installed. I started this process back in September 2024. It is a bait and switch on contract and I even have in writing from four people including management saying they owe me the money but have yet to ever send me a payment. Not the easiest company to work with I definitely would not recommend them for business. I also have a family member that works for this company and that’s why I opted to go with them, but they are a horrible company to try and deal with. Also don’t fall victim to their tax rebate as they call it for panel installation. It is an actual credit, and even if you do not qualify for the credit, they will raise your rates for not applying the credit towards your loan.

Misleading sales claims

I can only discuss the sales experience since we did not proceed beyond the proposal presented to. us. The salesman was: 1. Pushy "If you don't install solar today, net metering will go away forever" (Not true, though, it's possible it will at some point in the future, who knows) "When the rates go bonkers in a few years, you'll be sorry" (Come on! Did he previously work at a sleazy used car dealership?) 2. Lying/exaggerating/making misleading statements "PSE is not regulated, they can charge anything what they want." (Not true) "I spoke to utility company executives. Utility rates are going up 80% in 4 years." (Rates are going up but that's a gross exaggeration) "Your system will pay for itself in 7 years" (He made this claim despite having a copy of our annual electricity usage. Rates would have to be an average of 500% higher for the next 7 years for the system to that claim to be true. That's highly improbable.) "The PSE Flex Battery rebates makes the batteries free" (You can't just subtract the dollar amount of the rebates from your initial cost dollar-for-dollar. One reason is that the rebates are pre-tax, so you gotta deduct your marginal income tax rate. Another is that they're paid out over 10 years, but you're paying for them upfront. $1,000 in 2025 is not the same as $1,000 in 2035.)

Stay Away

These people lied to us so many times. Do not believe a word they tell you. When they set up this system they told me I would not have to pay an electric bill....LIE. I am still paying an electric bill plus a payment on this solar thing they set up. They told me I was going to get a big rebate that I could give back to them and keep the price where it is. If I kept the rebate check, my price would be more. Well there was no rebate check and now I am paying for this solar system and and electric bill. I am really worse off than I was before. Not happy at all.

High pressure shysters

Charged me a cancellation fee because they did not understand that my house was being purchased on a real estate contract, even though they were told up front. High pressure sales tactics. I would not recommend.

SCAM!! Stay away from this company!

If I could give negative stars, I would. This company promised us that solar panels would save us money on our insane electricity prices. We invested in solar units that cost over 50K, with monthly payments ($180). We were told that our electricity bill would be significantly lower, end even with the payments of the solar panels, we would be saving money. The panels were installed in July and so far we have LOST money every month. We have not used more power or had any changes to our home. We even had an electrician come to our home to check and monitor our power usage. His estimations showed that we had no significant source consuming power and the solar units were also USING power. It was a cloudy day when he came so he said that we probably have to turn the solar units off/on when it's sunny/dark. No one told us that when the units were installed and no one said the units would consume power when it's not sunny. WHAT THE HECK???? I've emailed the company and have gotten nothing but the runaround from them. I am done and am here to let anyone who's considering solar from this company to STAY CLEAR!

Do not recommend

This company initially was easy to work with until after the install. My system didn't pass county inspection. I asked Purelight to come out to fix the issue. All I got was excuses as to why they couldn't. Several weeks later the system is still not repaired and I still don't have an answer as to when they will be coming out to fix it.

Garbage company

From my personal experience with pure light power is absolute horrendous! I would not recommend this company to anybody. They act like they're a fly-by-night operation. The communication is awful. Nobody knows anything and nobody can ever do anything but give you the runaround. Not to mention I've sent other people there while I was getting mine installed which I totally regret. Not said my worst enemy there!

ZERO COMMUNICATION

We failed our inspection last week and we still have not heard anything from ANYONE at the company!!! I have called multiple different numbers, talked to ex employees who no longer work there anymore (those were the contacts I was told to call) they all said the same thing this company is a COMPLETE SHIT SHOW!! They have zero idea what they’re doing, they don’t understand project management at all. If you’re looking for solas panels run farrrrrrr away from this company!!! Crazy to spend $72,000 on a company and get zero responses! Please come take these panels back as this is garbage!! Next step is better business bureau, then a lawsuit.
