Positive Energy Solar

I live in a condo unit in a 1950s neighborhood in Santa Fe, NM. The electrical service in the neighborhood and the condo is not to the newest standard, plus there was only limited exterior wall space for installing the various electrical components needed. In summary, designing and installing the system was a challenge. Prior to Positive Energy Solar, I had contacted two other local solar installation firms, who were interested in the project, but ultimately lacked the knowledge, resources, and/or dedication to come up with a design. I had given up hope that it could be done, until someone shared their positive experience with Maria Hondros, a Sales Advisor at Positive Energy Solar, who exceeded all my expectations. She was extremely knowledgeable, dedicated and well connected to come up with a design that took all the constraints into consideration. At one point the design was about to be determined as not feasible due to some technical calculations. She took it upon herself to review the calculations and detected an error in the spreadsheet that was used by others in the calculation. The project manager and installation crew were also a joy to work with. In summary, I can highly recommend the entire team at Positive Energy Solar, and in particular the Sales Advisor Maria Hondros. Without her knowledge and dedication, I don’t believe I would have been able to get solar panels installed.

Positive Energy Solar installed a ground solar array on our property four months ago. On installation, everything worked perfectly. The array and associated electrical installations still work perfectly. The support and installation team worked perfectly, even supporting us in getting the requisite permits. They have also performed well in answering follow-up questions. I suspect it helps that they are employee owned. An all-around fine company.

I enthusiastically and wholeheartedly recommend Positive Energy Solar. I've been trying to make attempts to do my part in being environmentally responsible and was looking for a company that was equally committed and caring. From the very first interaction to the final project closeout, Positive Energy was amazing. Every member of their team that I interacted with was professional, competent, respectful, timely, and "positive" :-) My wife and I are high-maintenance, and at times probably annoying, customers, wanting to know all the details about a project, and every person at Positive Energy was patient, thorough, and comprehensive in their dealings with us. We had recently embarked on some other projects at our house (floors, painting, minor renovations), and had several frustrating issues; however, with Positive Energy Solar, everything was done right. In fact, I texted my wife a couple of times and stated about Positive Energy "this is how a company should be run!" We were approached by a couple of other solar companies in town, and I got an estimate from one of them. They did a slick sales job, but when I tried to contact them to follow up, it was a nightmare - they subcontracted everything out, had no local support, were disorganized, etc. In contrast, Positive Energy Solar, is based locally in Albuquerque and New Mexico, were always responsive, have their own sales, project management, engineers and installers (they do subcontract the roofing prep and finish, but have a good partner). Positive Energy managed the project like a real engineering project, and shared all the details with me. Special shoutout to Jeremy, Will, and Dionne (I don't recall the names of the engineers and installers) for being so helpful and professional.

I have been very satisfied with Positive Energy Solar as my solar contractor. The installation process was a little slow, but they kept us informed about the progress all along. The biggest problem was getting inspector to the project. The installation is small, 9 panels, but it is producing 15 kwh or more each day.

They were detailed, communicative, organized and prompt. Whole process was explained in great detail and all of the milestones were hit right on time. When minor issues arose they were addressed immediately and throughly. Highly recommend these guys (especially because we have neighbors that have used other companies, and there experience was awful.) They were jealous of how easy our installation was.

Awesome team at PES. I went with them after 3 neighbors had excellent experiences with this local company, as their customer service is top-notch. Muhamed (sales adviser) is super quick to respond to questions and helped us with a custom roof installation. Zack (project manager) helped us trouble-shoot several house-specific issues and the installation was prompt and problem-free. They offered a competitive price and equipped my house with a modern solar system on an on-target timeline. They navigated the PNM net-metering activation with ease and on time even during pandemic times, and set up all the paperwork I need for a tax credit. System works great! I said goodbye to my electrical bill after the first month of use. Why wait?

From our opening conversation through final installation, every interaction with Positive Energy Solar was extraordinarily pleasant. The team is knowledgeable, kind, clear, honest, and respectful, and they answered each of my questions quickly and directly. The whole process felt deeply humane, and I couldn’t be more appreciative.

We have been extremely happy with Positive Energy Solar and its work over the entire duration of the project.  From our first exploratory meetings through PNM’s final meter set and inspection, the entire PES team was technically sound, focussed and efficient, and always willing to interact with us about any question. And all that within the constraints imposed by Covid-19.  Working with PES has been a uniformly excellent experience.

Jobs completed as promised, done with amazing craftsmanship. One item under warranty was helpfully replaced by technician Kennyy Markowitz. He was personable neat and very helpful. He explained what he was doing and success, I can monitor my Solar Power again. Thank you Kenny and THANK YOU PES!

We worked with numerous Positive Energy staff over the course of our project, including Sales Personnel, Engineers, and Installation Technicians. Everyone treated us with the highest degree of respect and provided exceptional customer service. They made numerous onsite visits (wearing masks), and provided quick response and answers to questions we had. When a new, more efficient panel came out on market, they contacted us to let us know and demonstrated how we would benefit financially and in energy production from making a change. They even brought their own porta potty to the job site so they wouldn't jeopardize our home and/or their staff with potential COVID. If we had to do this project all over again, we'd pick Positive Energy Solar in a heartbeat!

Positive Energy Solar was responsive and helpful from the time we first called, through our decision-making process, and throughout the planning and installation of our system. Dave went over the options with us and answered all our questions, Zach worked with us to plan our system and guide us through the necessary steps with PNM and the recommended electrician, who was also very helpful and efficient, and the installation went smoothly and as planned. Dave also followed up with us to be sure the system was working as it should. We are very pleased with Positive Energy and would recommend them wholeheartedly to anyone considering a solar installation.

Our experience with SunPower by Positive Energy Solar couldn't have been easier or more professional. Our contact, Taylor Selby, explained everything clearly, giving us various options to choose from, both in terms of how much solar we wanted to install and whether we wanted to pay up front or choose a pay-as-you-generate plan. Everyone we dealt with was professional and courteous and we got our panels installed in a timely manner. We are now enjoying our website monitor that tells us every day how much electricity we have generated. We had our system installed fall of 2015. Kopavi Rubens was my sales advisor and he went above and beyond to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We had 3 solar companies give us quotes and Positive energy solar was the only company that wanted to work with me to install the system on my back garage. Our system has been working perfectly. The Sun Power Maxeon cells are the best on the market. Kopave handled all the issues with PNM and permits I didn't have to worry about anything. The timeline he laid out at the beginning was very accurate. And the install went as predicted. The install team was fantastic, they cleaned up everything cleaner than it was before they started and it was a super professional installation. I just can't say enough good things about the whole process. We have been making 2000KW more per year than we use. I feel the system was sized perfectly.

Our salesperson Dave Thomas, project manager Jake Schreiner, the installation crew, all were outstanding to work with, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about their company, product and solar in general. Everyone we met, either in person or on the phone, was outstanding in terms of wanting to help us and having the knowledge and experience to do their job right. Our install was done by a crew of five, three of whom have their electrician license. Using two trucks full of equipment they installed our 20 panel system in 6 and 1/2 hours. The skill and politeness of our crew was amazing. Having talked to several companies over a couple of years my wife and I were unsure this was the way to go. I was at an event and SunPower by Positive Energy Solar had a booth. After talking to Troy Guglielmina I decided to set up an appoint and learn more. We learned about the quality of their panels and and the warranty they had. His knowledge of his product and the information he provided was very helpful. We had the solar system they designed and we wanted installed. Our 3.5KW roof-mounted system came online in late December. It is a ten panel, integrated inverter system. We have been very pleased with its performance even on these short winter days. We chose SunPower by Positive Energy Solar after a great deal of research, and also on the recommendation of a friend who has a similar system. From the first sales visit by Sam, to all the planning and pre-installation visits by various folks from the company, this has been a seamless and quite pleasant experience. I had a 4.9Kw photo-voltaic system installed at my home in Las Cruces NM in August 2016 by Positive Energy. The install could not have gone better in my mind from the salesman Scott Burns to the Project Lead Martijn Kolloffel in the office. The on-site crew were just as professional, The lead installer,Aaron Cardone, explained every step of the process and when the outlet for the Secure Power Supply (SPS) was found to be faulty one of the electricians, Steve, showed up after hours on his way home to swap it out. I was given an estimate by Scott and Martijn that was very close to the final cost. I wanted the inverted installed in a different location than was originally estimated which required some more supplies than estimated. They were very upfront about the added cost, which was less than a 1 percent increase in the total price of the system. I had no problem with the added cost since it was a change I was requesting. It was nice of them to compromise in the price than try to cut corners in other areas, in my opinion they chose the professional approach in being upfront and honest. The whole crew was considerate and polite when accessing the bathroom throughout the two days. They even managed to move up my original installation date a few days which fit into my schedule. Going into week 4 with the system up and running and I'm about 120 Kwh in the back according to the El Paso Electric meter. The whole process was accomplished as explained and within my expectations.

My wife and I had been thinking about a photovoltaic installation for years and, seeing the end of tax credits possibly on the horizon, finally bit the bullet. I came to this site and got the names of the top 3 rated installers in Albuquerque and called them all for additional information. One of them never called back, one called back but made me feel like they were doing me a favor and I had to work around their schedule. When Sean Torres from SunPower by Positive Energy Solar (SPbPES) called, he made everything so easy. We set up a site visit at our home at the first time I requested. He came out and we talked for as long as we needed to until all my questions were answered. I have an interest in the workings of things and have an engineering background, so I had a lot of questions and he was very patient. He also made sure we covered the important stuff that I didn't think to ask about as well. His sales methodology was very complete and low-pressure. He ran through many solar system scenarios with me, tweaking different options and variables until I was convinced that I was getting the solar system exactly as I wanted it. He understood that I didn't want to overproduce annually because of PNM's way of accounting for netmetered customers, and he never tried to push me into installing a system bigger than my needs required. SPbPES are SunPower brand installers too. Not just any installer is authorized to install this brand of panel and, if you do your research, you'll decide you definitely want these on your roof - not all solar panels are created equal! Once my wife and I were ready to commit, the subsequent process was totally painless as well. There was little waiting except when needed for completion of bureaucratic processes such as obtaining licenses and permits and applications from PNM and the county. SPbPES managed all of it for us. Installation and turn on went very smoothly as well. That's all I need to say about that. Sean's professionalism and his awesome charismatic demeanor made the entire process enjoyable. I found such value in Positive Energy Solar's business that I referred a friend directly to them for his solar install and, guess what? He was just as happy with their service as I was. If you need a photovoltaic solar system installed in New Mexico, call SunPower by Positive Energy Solar. I always call 3 contractors before I decide on anything - it's a good practice. Despite that, I'm fairly confident that anyone looking to install a solar system will decide on going with these guys.

We wanted to expand out solar array from 5 to 10 kWh (our old one was closing in on 8 yrs old) to max out what we could have as a residential system. I met Sean Torres through another very satisfied client and he made several trips to our house, was always on time, thorough and made sure we understood everything perfectly. The design visit was efficient and they even patiently took advice and drawings from our kids as to how they should set up the panels! Installation was on the day and time promised and went without a hitch despite having to meld together two entirely separate systems. The installation crew was respectful of our daily schedule, left the workspace cleaner than they found it, and were great at communicating with us. Kudos to the entire Positive Energy team and especially our sales contact Sean Torres for helping guide us through from beginning to end!

My wife and I came to NM in 1976 - to open a Solar Heating company - Back then a Federal Solar Credit for Tax Purposes was available but discontinued soon after we arrived. Positive Energy was referred to us by a neighbor who was very pleased with their quality and product ratings. We wanted a net-zero solution and JD Frye of Positive energy suggested we contact Medlin Mechanical, a local Geothermal expert. The two companies coordinated the activities necessary to provide a geothermal heat pump system to eliminate our propane heating system, and provide the electrical power for both the heat pump and all our other home electrical use. All the folks at Positive Energy were friendly, prompt, and professional in every way and we especially enjoyed the project engineering skills of Chadette Pfaff.

From the very first interaction with Karen who was knowledgable, polite, and punctual - through the installation with the entire team of folks including Andrea, Gray, Butch & Ryan - until the very last item where Chadette got us the invoice has been a flawless and pleasant experience. In addition to the direct interactions with the Positive Energy Solar, it was clear that the team has developed positive collegial relationships with county and state workers involved in the approval and tax filing process. Steve Marez from the county was professional, informative, and helpful in getting the new meter installed and the necessary paperwork completed. Mark Gaiser at the NM Energy, Minerals & Natural Resources Dept was also knowledgeable and efficient and a pleasure to work with. This is in large part due to the great relationships Positive Energy Solar has cultivated with these people. A HUGE help was also the Positive Energy checklist for filing the paperwork with the state which was an invaluable help and allowed the filing to go flawlessly. Thanks! Positive energy sales people were able to answer and take care of all my needs. They are very knoledgeable and very kind. They drove over an hour to see us a number of times. I highly recommend them. And the installers were top notch they did a great job in a very timely manner.

As a new homeowner in the Las Cruces, NM area, I was wanting to explore solar energy possibilities and did a lot of research with various companies and investigated self install options. The great people at Positive Energy Solar (especially Crystal Lay and Mark Westbrock) were amazing to work with. After all my research and talking to several companies, I contacted Positive Energy in mid January of 2016. The system (6.5KV) was specced, ordered, installed and fully functional by 22 February! The team that was sent out to do the install were professional, maintained a very clean work environment and more than met expectations. The design visit was very thorough, and all the Positive Energy Solar folks we dealt with honestly let us know what we would be getting, how it would be installed, and timelines for our planning as well. Throughout the entire project, and beyond, we felt we were informed. Positive Energy makes the decision to go solar easy. We were able to sit down with Taylor Selby, who we knew from our community, in our home and look at variables and the best system for our needs. No big sales pitch; just the facts. Then once you sign on the dotted line you are introduced to a finely-tuned team at Positive Energy where each person has your needs and concerns at heart. Each person on the team has a niche and gets in meets you explains what they are going to do and does it in a professional manner. So a couple of guys came into the house to work on our electric panel and in ordinary conversation I determined that they are very knowledgable about the product and the work they are doing. They are all very friendly and like the company they are working for. This is a rare commodity in today's world in-and-of-itself; but they actually believe that installing solar systems will help to save the world. So it was a very Positive experience to have them in our home!

Personally, I experienced a few hiccups such as a lack of communication but once I complained. The manager and even people from corporate take all complaints very seriously. They are highly involved in the day-to-day operations. That is very refreshing. The installers and everyone were extremely polite.

Used PSE based on a friend's referral who used their services and I couldn't be happier. The price was better than anything else around but the staff were the most amazing part of the this experience. The process was flawless and they helped us from beginning to end with intimate knowledge of cost/government rebates, finance options, our housing association variances/permits, representation at meetings, schematics, paperwork, etc. We couldn't be happier with everything this company represents and I have referred friends to them whenever possible!

The technical design, economic justification and beyond that the good we feel as we watch our meter run energy back into the grid are the rewards.
