Overall experience was overwhelmingly positive. Some unforseen additional structural engineering costs (<5% of total) arose in order to comply with local seismic requirements for a ground mount system. The job was completed under time and at budget. Communications with the contractor were excellent and all phone calls, e-mails, MMS and conventional correspondance recieved immediate, usually live, real-time response. My single point of contact was the primary contractor. He handled all coordination and scheduled meetings with subs, inspectors, electric utility provider etc. making the process a "turn-key" operation from my perspective. The system has had one minor problem (an inoperative switch) which was remedied quickly and at no cost. The system has been working perfectly ever since.
The system qualified for the 30% federal tax deduction which was crucial in enabling me to afford the installation.
The contractor took care of all the inspection, permitting, net metering and incentive paperwork which was also very important to me as a lay person with neither the knowledge or time to properly complete myself. I was kept in the information loop and provided copies of everything.

The installation of this system in Del Mar proved very difficult because of permitting issues. Photon showed creativity in working through the process, and continued pressing the City until the license was obtained and the job completed on time. Good Job!
