Exceptional Solar Experience from Start to Finish!

Apart from buying my house, getting a solar array installed on my house was one of the largest purchases I've made - but Moxie Solar made the entire process easy. They took care of the design, the permits, the install, the energization - everything. Even the tax rebates were well-explained to me. All of this for an incredibly competitive price, to top it all off. Loved my whole experience and I will recommend my interested friends and neighbors to Moxie!

Fantastic from Start to Finish

Moxie was ahead of the game for our recent solar installation. We felt "in the loop" from start to finish as communication went a long way with our family. We are excited to be saving money already in month #1 and we'll be referring our neighbors in no time.

Still waiting after 7 months

This has been the most frustrating experience. After 7 months we’re still not operational. Communication is non-existent. Things are scheduled, then pushed back. Verbal commitments are missed, then they ghost you. Look elsewhere. There are plenty of other companies out there.

Careless installers damaged my roof and Moxie has no Moxie

So many things went wrong during the installation of my solar system. The biggest being the totally damaged roof from careless installers. Moxie has acknowledged these problems and said several times that something should be done. I’ve written to Rich Tilden, Steve Hoffman and apparently the issue has been escalated to the president of Moxie, Travis Eichlenberger, but still no reply from Moxie. For over a year now, I have been trying to come up with some resolution with Moxie but lately they will not even reply to messages. So, after a year of trying to get Moxie to resolve issues and no response, the only recourse I have is drag it through the courts. Be forewarned that it is chilling to know that Moxie will turn their back on you when things don’t go right. I guess that’s the kind of Moxie you get when working with them.

Do Not use moxie 30k and I still have a bill no communication

I spent 30k with Moxie Solar for a solar array that would eliminate my electrical bill other than the connect fee of 15 per month to our electrical provider. They designed the system and told me this system was to be 110 percent of my electrical usage and that I would not have an electrical bill in fact during the summer my electric company would be paying me a few dollars because I will over produce. Last months bill was 80.00 I reached out to the project manager and she didn't know where the salesman got his numbers and that something was wrong after that conversation I have reached out to the company several times and have not heard a thing for over 4 weeks. I have read multiply reviews after this know I wish I would have gone with someone else. tried posting a negative review on their FB page the CEO deleted it and banned me so they are most definitely getting the messages

Followup after installation was slow. One of my two inverters did not work for several months after install was complete. Never completed the physical layout view of my 84 panels. Would not recommend.

Do not buy from this company they are liars

We had purchased 28 solar panels for Moxie solar. We called and complained for over six months that the system was not working. Every time we called it wasn’t that person‘s job they pointed this in a different direction that’s not my job that’s so-and-so‘s job is what we got all the time. After 11 months of having solar they finally found the problem they sold us 11 bad solar panels from day one. They came out and replaced 11 panels and come to find out one of the panels they replaced with a new panel was bad. So they told me I was going to get back production pay. How to put this and understanding 11 bed panels for almost a year you will figure it be a little bit of money. I literally got a check for $25. This is the backpay they gave me for the 11 bad panels they put on my home. I have never had a zero power bill in 11 months in fact my June power was $299 plus what I had to pay for my solar panels $140 I have never paid this much for electricity. So basically maybe getting solar from Moxie solar cost me thousands of dollars. And I have yet to have a zero power bill like they told me. When The guys came out to replace the 11 bad panels I said do you know Moxie solar kind of sucks. And the guy said we get that a lot. I will not recommend this company one single bit do not buy do not call for an estimate from this company run go somewhere else.

If it sounds too good to be true, it is.

The salesperson we worked with was phenomenal, but Moxie did not deliver on the promises that were made. Key details were left out of the discussion. We were skeptical so we asked a ton of questions and drilled down to details. We were lied to about how the reimbursement for the loans would work, and it put our family in a difficult financial position a few months later when we suddenly needed to come up with $14,000 cash. Make sure you read all the fine print and fully understand what you are getting into. It is not easy, seamless, and there is a good chance you will not get back the amount they tell you you'll get on your taxes. Our accountant told us that this happens to his clients all the time. They buy solar panels and believe that the amount told to them is accurate, then are blindsided when they find out they were lied to. Besides the financial position Moxie put us in, they did not actually turn the system on when they left! It was winter and I thought maybe I wasn't seeing a change in my electric bill because of the snow and clouds. After a few months of paying the Moxie bill AND the electric bill, I called to find out what was wrong. They came out and told me that the system was not on. They turned it on and then we saw a difference. They did not offer to pay for the electric bill I should not have had to pay for all those months and did nothing to make it right. The salesperson promised us that they would monitor our account after installation to make sure all was working properly. No one monitors anything or they would have caught this. The crew who worked on our project did not follow through with what the salesperson said they would do and we fought for almost 6 months to get them to complete the project as it was explained to us when we signed the contract. We ended up getting so frustrated with the mess they left behind that we hired a new contractor to come and fix it. If you are looking at doing this, I would caution you. If I could go back, I would not move forward and I would encourage anyone considering this to run away. Moxie did not keep their promises, made mistakes which cost us a lot of money, and never made an attempt to compensate us for the money we were out because of their mistakes.

DO NOT HIRE MOXIE!!!!

DO NOT HIRE Moxie! The seller told us that in 3 months our solar panels would be working. We signed on April 3 and today is August 22 and NOTHING! It doesn't look like our solar panels will be turned on any time soon. Moxie says that it could have all solar panels ready in 2 months, but it cannot predict how long it takes the city and utilities company. HOWEVER, nobody ever told us that. So, it's easy to come up with excuses after the damage is done. Don't get me wrong, all associates who talked to us were nice, but they don't exactly know what they are what doing I don't think. 1-They submitted documents incorrectly to the electrical company. 2-They didn't know we passed an inspection. 3-They showed up for one of the earlier inspections WITHOUT a permit and the city inspector had to come back another time (he said, "they do it all the time"). And now that my wife wrote a review to share how hard isn't been for us to work with Moxie, 2 people have contacted her apologizing and saying that, "MOXIE likes to do everything we can to make it right for our customers." Apologies do some, but don't do much in a case like this, where so much money is involved. We keep asking what Moxie is going to do for us now and nobody answers! So, hire Boston Solar or Certasun, but DO NOT HIRE MOXIE! Don't waste your time or money, it's NOT worth it.

RUN AWAY from Moxie!

Before signing the contract, my husband and I were told we would have our solar panels up and running in 3 months. This was back on 4/3. It's now 8/18 and there's no sign we will be able to turn our solar panels on any time soon. Moxie's excuse is that they could have it "ready to go in 2 months, but they cannot predict how long it's going to take with the city and utilities company," but I want to point out that this was NEVER mentioned before signing the contract. Everybody at Moxie who has ever talked to me was always very nice, but I don't think they know what they are doing. For example, they submitted documents incorrectly to my electrical company. Then, they were unaware that I passed one of the inspections (I figured it out myself because I called city hall). They also showed up for one of the earlier inspections WITHOUT the permit they needed to give the city inspector. I could go on and on with my list of why you should NOT hire Moxie, but I'm just going to say this: Spend a little more money and save yourself all the trouble. Otherwise, you'll end up like us, disappointed, upset, stressed out, and sick of having to deal with them!

Moxie Solar System Install Worked Out Well

My wife did the front end work of research & ended up choosing to work with Moxie Solar for our installation. It was my job to oversee the installation. At first we bumped into a few issues but I'd like to say that the Teams & Company recovered with style. I'd like to extend a big "Thank You!" to Rick, Ryan & Aiden of the electrical team. Rick fielded the issues I uncovered after the first panel (PV) team was on on-site. He came to the job, worked with me and assured me that all would be well. He, Ryan & Aiden made sure everything went well as the balance of the project unfolded. Also, a big shout out to Tom, Nat & Dillon - the PV guys. They worked with our Tesla panels to ensure that they were installed properly and all functioned as intended. I can't thank them enough for their dedication to a quality installation. The system was just tested yesterday and I've got people inquiring about our system already. Thank you all, gentlemen, for bringing this project to a successful conclusion.

Great team, happy customer

Missing a star because I had hoped there was a way to store the unused portion of the power. (I'm not thrilled with the buy-back program.) So happy with the fact that the team took on all permissions regarding our HOA. It was a relief not to have to deal with that. Thank you Moxie. Have already talked about you to neighbors.

My Sales guy and project managers were awesome to work with. They answered all my questions (sometimes multiple times) and took care off all the state program stuff for me to get all the applicable rebates I could. I'm a bit of a micromanager when it comes to this stuff so for me there could have been a little more communication after the panels were installed but that is more my personality than Moxie.

From original quote to installation everything went smoothly. We even sold our house before installation and transferred the project to the new home!

Moxie's communication on install details in Florida is very poor

Moxie does an excellent job of selling their services and communicating what I would guess they hope will happen and unfortunately it didn't work that way for us. We would, however tell you that their sales person - Brian Handelsman, and back office team of Carolynn Hendrickson, Becky Ray and Lee Anne DiCecco were all easy to work with and did an excellent job of communicating and staying engaged.. However, when it came to communicating the delivery of materials and having everything the contractor needed their "Market President" who is located in Austin, TX was one of the poorest communicators and had absolutely very limited follow-up to explain anything that was going-on from delivery of materials to what day the contractors were going to start. They just showed-up.. Unfortunately this person was also responsible for scheduling materials and manpower as well as managing the permit process with St. John's County and without a doubt was one of the poorest communicators and marginal field leaders I've ever encountered. This person allowed the electrician to only pull a permit for "electrical repairs" and not "solar panel installation". The net result was a delay in getting FP&L's approval and necessitated our direct communication with county officials to secure the right verbiage for the FP&L Permit. Until Moxie hires a person specifically for the Florida market I would be reluctant to recommend them in any matter whatsoever and certainly anyone using Moxie should ask who actually manages the materials and scheduling in Florida.

We bought 26 panels and 2 Powerwalls. Everything was as advertised and is working very well. The sales process was stellar. Very straightforward and the sales rep knew the business. The installation was smooth and we have been up and running since Nov 2020.

From the initial call through the build and with following up on the switch on, everyone has been good to work with and positive. They even sent a team to fill in a trench in the yard with soil and grass seed. Seeing the energy production on the app is gratifying too.

Very Satisfied

The salesman was very knowledgeable; he told us about the federal tax credit for 2020, the rebate through our electric company (which let is know exactly how much money we would get in return), and the whole process from start to finish. MOXIE Solar handled everything: permits, installation, inspections, and startup. We have an APP that lets us know how much electricity we are producing; with daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and lifetime summaries. Happy with our purchase and glad to be doing our share of "going green"!

A Job Well Done!

Moxie and their installation contractor did an excellent job on my 3.6 kwh solar array project. They always came on schedule and did a neat job of installation. I did have to change my electric meter to a bidirectional one after observing that the one I always had did not run backwards when the array was generating credit to my account. I would recommend Moxie for anyone interested in solar savings.

Very good experience from start to finish

I chose Moxie Solar after getting quotes from several other companies (small proprietors). I decided to use Moxie because I wanted a substantial company that I felt would be here for the long haul. And, their pricing was the least expensive of all the quotes I received. The installation was top notch. An excellent crew that showed great care for my property, very neat, excellent workmanship, great clean-up, and quality materials. Moxie has been very proactive to communicate every step with me and respond to any question I've had. They provided all documentation for the system, engineering details, etc. I have been very happy with the support I have received so far and have every confidence that it will continue. The system is working well and producing power every day. I would not hesitate to recommend Moxie Solar.

Very professional, excellent customer service

No high pressure sales, very good follow up to my questions, Use very good quality components. Pricing was significantly better than 2 other quotes. Just took too long to get all approvals and permission from utility to operate, not all Moxie's fault.
